does anyone know how long it takes for shipments to arrive from china? and does anyone have problems with customs?

thanks!

for the usa   3 to 5 days from when you pay.  custom issues happen..

for the usa  : orders over 2500 can some extra have problems.  orders under 2500 usd go pretty well.  ie no duty or taxes.

europe ;  has vat tax and it can be high.
42602  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Could Bitmain be driving the latest spike in hashing growth with Antminer S3s? on: June 26, 2014, 01:34:51 AM
Don't forget Black Arrow has started to ship x-1 with x-3's soon to come.  = ? ph

Sp30's do exist  =           ? ph

BFL  yeah  the monarch  = ? ph

 KNC                             = ? ph

AM rk-box                     = ? ph

Antminer s-3                 = ? ph

So  if we are at 120ph right now real pool numbers.   Not  the 96ph diff number.

There are 6 on the list that are do some of the 24ph.

Diff will be 22 to 28 % jump  or more.  Hopefully  the entire 24ph   is a mix of the above 6 listed  since diff will go flatter if that is true.

Read the article thanks for the solo mining plug.

Right now I have all 6 of my r-boxes pointed at bitsolo.net

They finally hit a block and paid a block.  So I will try my luck with the six crazy guy sold me.

powerwise I am spending about 260 watts at this.  gear wise  210gh

NOTE :I run 1th at btcguild with a miner hosted in china  and I run 25mh soon to be 40 mh at wemineltc in house.

I will run the 210gh worth of  gear solo mined for a while I really wish it was offered by more pools.

my hash rate at the bitsolo.net site  six r-boxes and some fury sticks

the fury sticks.     and I am too lazy to walk down and take a shot of the r-boxes  but do the math with the shot above and here   I am doing about 192gh in r-boxes

42604  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: mining income on: June 26, 2014, 01:11:55 AM
if only 2Ghs i think never do mining by your self more better if you use cloud mining for mining
because for now 2 Ghs its very small if you compare with BTC diff now

Eh there isn't a cloud mining solution that has a compelling price these days.

Pick up a rockminer rbox for like $60. 30+ gh. Nice littl units

What is that miner, do you have a link to them ?

http://minersource.net/products/rockminer-r-box-32-37gh-s-bitcoin-miner

They can be found slightly cheaper but that's a reputable seller. I bought 3 from them. Working great.
this is a product that will likely never roi

No product available today looks like it roi's……. Not a one.   By available today I mean pay and they ship it not a pre order.

Now is not the best time to buy a miner.  buy a little bit of coins instead.
42605  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What would you do? Mine with $40k or purchase Bitcoin? on: June 26, 2014, 12:52:30 AM
okay  I recommend a multi prong attack.

40k for 60th is a monster amazing stone cold bargain .

Buy the gear sell half  and host the other half.

You could sell 30th for 30 to 35 k   no worries.      this means  you have 30th for under 10k.    just mine the 30th. and pay the 290 x 5 = 1500 a month to host.     you roi in under 30days.

hold those mined coins for 1 year and then decide if you want to sell them.

But if you could sell 30th for 30-35k, why not just resell 60th for 60-70k and use the 20 to 30K profit to just buy Bitcoins.  This would not take more than 1 total day of your time and you could move onto the next venture instead of having to babysit 60TH for 9 months  Cheesy
[/quote]

yeah but mining is such fun. Or  As my wife says the fans are too loud it is too hot in the garage.

Frankly  I am drifting into holding btc and ltc more then mining right now.

I think I have more in coins then in gear right now.  Not sure .

I have had issues with  windows 8 with a lot of different miners.  So I rolled back to windows 7.
42607  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Running two different types of miners on: June 25, 2014, 09:57:40 PM
Finally got my rock miner but I'm getting some strange behaviour from cgminer.

AS part of the set up instructions you have to replace a driver - http://www.eyeboot.com/rbox-setup-guide

Therefore if I run bfgminer and cgminer at the same time i get the following messages in cgminer

Can anyone help in resolving this?

thanks

so did you download zadig   and enter the driver?

better yet are you running windows 7?
42608  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [In Stock] Batch 8! Gridseed miners in Stock in Los Angeles. [$225] on: June 25, 2014, 09:36:26 PM
Just an inquiry, another vendor is offering a G-Black unit (which appears to be five GS 'blades' in a self-contained tower), does Zoomhash have any plans to have inventory on these?

The price with shipping is really close to just picking up 5 G-blades from here and being able to split them up on pools as I choose, but if you guys will be carrying them... Smiley

Since I have been treated well here and prefer buying here.  a 5 blade combo unit seems interesting.

I ordered here quite a few times and I would not mind doing another order soon.

Ditto, mainly for the self-contained power supply and controller. Love my G-Blades and all the farms I manage around the area for colleagues, but less wires and power supplies would be a win.

Would be easier to manage,  but does it have a r-pi built in.   I use my little asock z77 chip itx-e  pc with a nice i7 3770t cpu  and this pc just fucking mines everything and anything.

42609  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Be wary buying the Antminer S3 on: June 25, 2014, 09:14:38 PM
Why be afraid of buying s3's?

  lots say buy coins instead.

I can buy both.  Most likely I am staying with gridseed blades as they seem to work well and be gentle on power.

4  gridseed blades  = 340 watts

1 s-3 = 390 watts.

For me I never have more then 10k in mining gear and coins  .  I juggled gear coins around and wait for a good buy.

mY first choice is buy  a well priced gridseed blade.

my second choice is buy a coin or 2 or 3

my third choice is get a few s-3's

Waiting to see this unfold from now until the first of july.

42610  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Are stick miners worth it? on: June 25, 2014, 08:54:23 PM
The sticks normally don't make ROI. They are only to test mining and have fun.
A antminer u2 costs about 20$ for 1.6 GH/s that's 12.5$ per GH/s.
While other miners cost 1-2$ per GH/s.

Well, that explains a lot  Smiley
And yet, I see a lot of people have made some massive USB mining farms. I guess they too are also "having fun"  Cheesy

I ran up to 127 of them   sold most off but I am mining a few on bitsolo.net

these sticks are pulling under 35 watts

42611  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Closed]R17x: Black Arrow Prospero X-3 <DZMC Exclusive> $130 / 40GHS on: June 25, 2014, 08:22:40 PM
look like the x-1's are out they are nice but outdated  120gh at 120 watts.  would have been nice  gear  in jan not now.  the x-3's have not come out.

frankly if they are 1 watt 1 hash they won't be  much lets hope they are better .

Assuming they are using the same chips, then be prepared to be underwhelmed.  Having said that they look quite nice bits of kit.

Oh if black arrow had delivered the  x-1 on time  or early people would have loved the gear.

reminds me of the fury usb sticks always to slow to show up and get shipped  then the antminer usb sticks crushed them.
42612  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive RockMiner R-Box Setup [HD] on: June 25, 2014, 08:19:31 PM
One last thing, has anyone , anywhere, actually been able to get the R-Box to run at 300 Mhz ? The only freqs I have found that work are 270 and 290, and I have tried every conceivable variation in the config files and even swapped out a couple of different drivers and pushed the voltage a bit. Nothing I tried had any effect on freq, the only change from default I have been able to get to work is the 290, anything else just drops to 270.
Code:
cgminer.exe --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --rmu-freq 290 -o stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u YYYYY -p XXXXX

using the rbox version of cgminer (I downloaded it from the Chinese site - a real pain, but it should be available on an English site by now).

ANYTHING else and I do mean just about anything at all, and the device will drop down to run at defaults.

The code blacklists frequencies above 290 and just ignores your settings, that's why. If you had been using my official version of cgminer and not the fork you would have been able to read that in the ASIC-README included with cgminer but there are as per usual no docs with forks.

yeah this is a funky device…

set it and forget on the fork build of cgminer at freq 270---- that was supplied on crazy guys thread

basically nothing else runs great so far.     don't tweak don't do anything .

and take 32.5gh at 37 watts with a plat psu , and pcie to dc jacks.

I run six pretty much nonstop perfection with a windows 7  pc. and the custom fork.

in fact  i am getting a little better  6x 32.5gh since I switched to bitsolo.net

42613  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [INTEREST] CoiningSolutions.com Bitmain AntMiner S3 List on: June 25, 2014, 05:54:29 PM
waldo,

I may be interested in getting one S3 hosted.

I have read some of the group buys you have organized and have some concerns: such as,

You have changed terms AFTER miners have arrived and you started hosting, like increasing the management fees, sometimes doubling the fees. Can you give us assurances that you will not change the terms set forth at the start of the groupbuy?

I have another concern that I'd like to address after my question above has been answered.

Sincerely,

please show a link if you are correct.

I went through bitsolo.net FAQ. They say they have found ZERO Bitcoin blocks until now.
They're merge-mining Namecoin and have found ONE Namecoin block.

They found one the other day:
https://twitter.com/BitSolo1
Smiley

I did some research and it was paid   to the btc address that supposedly hit the block.

Gave me enough confidence to point about 210gh at it for the next 2 or 3 days.
42616  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How many S3 are you planning to buy? on: June 25, 2014, 02:58:54 PM
I won't be dirt cheap, it will be priced high on day 1 for all of the ballers, and when sales slow down, us poor folk will buy a few.

lets assume, this S3 wont ROI, would you still buy?

yeah I will get one at a minimum  as I have a source of power at  3-4 cents a kwatt.

right now i am using about 560watts with 3 underclocked s-1's at that spot   but I could pull them  and run 1 or 2 of these.

I do hope many people realize the diff increases have already made this piece of hardware old and redundant. Unless the price for it is outrageously low, which it won't be  Wink

Well as to what works and does not work for roi .78 watts a hash is better then most gear on the market.

The real issue is will fiat to btc change a lot.    I purchased 2 coins at 560-570 usd    so lets say I spent 1130 fiat for the coins.

So for the sake of easy math I send two coins for 2 machines.   I want my fiat back.

So will I get it?  not if coins stay at 565 usd  and diff moves crazy.

So what to do as a smaller  miner get cheap power  under 5 cents I roi .

Buy 2 sell one on ebay   hoping to make 200 on it.  letting me get the one I keep cheaper then oem price maybe.

Hold my 2 coins that I purchased for 1130 hope for price shift maybe.

That's less that what I earned / block on slush pool with just 200 GH/s(0.00206662 btc reward / block more less). that must be wrong. ... or not ?

How long ago was that?

few days ago.

right now then how much more less / block for 400 GH/s? well i will just wait and see once i have 10 shifts..

I have 416 with bitminter and 20 days at that number I get. .00858 a block

0.00858 BTC = 5,13 $ / block ? wow not bad... and in 1 day whats the blocks avg ?. Yeah i know it depends because you can find a block in 1 hour, 30 mins or 25 hours.... so.... but not bad for 416 = 0.00858 / block

at bitminter's size of 1200th  they should make 12.5 blocks in 1 week.   so 12.5 x 5.13 = about 64 dollars a week or 9 dollars a day
