4281  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin vs Agriculture on: May 03, 2021, 12:00:03 PM
I have seen several small subsistence farmers in my country that approached their local farmers markets and then asked them to "accept" Bitcoin as a payment option at their stalls. This worked for farmer markets where there were a high concentration of bitcoin users in the area, but it was less effective where Bitcoin use was not that common.

Where do you sell your produce? Most retail outlets does not accept Bitcoin and you have to walk the Mile with them to get them to pay you in Bitcoin for your produce. (We give them 10% discount, if they pay us in Bitcoin for our goods that are manufactured, so it is an incentive for them to do that)  Wink
4282  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-03-15] [Reuters] India to propose cryptocurrency ban, penalising miners on: May 03, 2021, 06:40:12 AM
There are so much FUD doing the rounds now.... because 5 hours ago... this was posted : https://cointelegraph.com/news/india-to-have-a-window-for-bitcoin-says-minister-amid-crypto-ban-fud

I quote : " In a Saturday interview with India Today, Sitharaman emphasized that the ministry does not plan to shut off Indian innovations associated with Bitcoin (BTC) and its underlying blockchain technology. " - Minister of finance of India

We know most of this is political games to garner votes for their election ....so mixed messages will be rife during these times. We also know the India government is very complex. (One says this and the other something totally different)  Roll Eyes

Let's not over react on Internet FUD...... and just go on as normal.  Wink

the government of india wants blockchain, but they want to ban bitcoin and altcoins but without that in the process of banning bitcoin and altcoins they do not ban the technologies that come from bitcoin or altcoins. I commented on this in the last post that the government of India is striving to have its own altcoin (its own digital currency) because they are a radical government that takes sovereignty issues very seriously and intend to have the greatest possible control over their people. but at the same time the government of india wants some technologies coming from bitcoin or altcoins

It is easy to understand government like that of India, for the government of India they must be thinking about the following: why should the people of India use something decentralized and created by anonymous people? this will hurt the country’s sovereignty, so they’re going to force their people to use the digital currency they’re going to create.

and in political terms no doubt that the government of india must be thinking that the more its people use cryptocurrencies that are decentralized the greater the risk that its people will start to demand that in their country government policies are more decentralized and transparent and start demanding more freedoms, and I doubt whether the government of India is willing to be more decentralized, to give greater freedoms to its people

Sorry for the late response to your post, but I only saw this now. To answer your question on why the government of India should accept a decentralized Crypto currency like Bitcoin.. well the answer is simple.

The world are moving to a global Crypto currency (Bitcoin BTC) when you look at the statistics internationally. Seeing that India has one of the highest unemployment statistics in the world and also the latest Covid shock.. they would be wise to give their economy a boost and also for their tax income. (Bitcoin creates informal jobs on a international scale and that money can boost India's economy)  Wink
4283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: travelling internationally with a hard wallet on: May 03, 2021, 05:28:50 AM
I think you have reasons to be over cautious of traveling with your hardware wallet, because a lot of custom officials will confiscate it due to misinformation and a lack of knowledge on the use of these wallets. (be more cautious when you cross international borders)

On the other hand, some officials in some countries might think it is just a memory stick and they will let you go through customs without noticing it. (I put my Ledger Nano in my wallet and it goes through without any problems)  Grin
4284  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - Million Dollar Race - UFC Official Betting Partner - Play Smarter 🥊 on: May 02, 2021, 05:19:03 PM
I didn't keep track of the competition but when I was watching it, this name 'MalteseFalcon' was not there. Did he suddenly wake up and wager $80 million overnight to win $250k? Whatever, congrats to him on such big win. I wish I could wager even 1/10000 of his wager.  Undecided

No one knows except himself and Stake. I did not see his name as well few days back when the leader was a hidden username with more than $45million if I remember it correctly. Who knows if he was one of the hidden usernames then he decided to set the private off to show his name before the race end? There can be some speculation, but it is not that important thing imho. No matter he did it overnight or in just few hours, he did it very well although we do not know whether he is in positive or negative while wagering that $80 million.

So does it mean that 'MalteseFalcon' was from the Stake team who suddenly pops up right at the end to win the competition. I am not accusing stake right now but it seems that something fishy is going on here. But then if the stake wanted to manipulate the competition they could have keep the name hidden till the end. It must have been some sort of whale who wager $80 million  Shocked

Nah, Stake has made a lot of money from 1000s of people wagering it out to get into the top 5000 for that race. The highrollers like Syztmz tried his best to be on top, but a well known player like MalteseFalcon held his money back to the end and just edged past the #1 and #2 and won the race.

The $250 000 for the first position and the other 4999 prizes, will not make up for what some of these players had to wager to get to the top 5000 players. (I think most people did not even profit from the rewards they got)  Cheesy
4285  Economy / Speculation / Re: How risky do you feel investing in Bitcoin is in this point of time? on: May 02, 2021, 01:38:03 PM
If you have a balanced portfolio.. risk can be managed. Let's say you have solid investments in conservative investments like Gold and Silver and some money in fixed deposits, then a little investment into a high risk investment like Crypto currencies.. would be a good boost.

If you have to get in now, do it with very small amounts... because we are pushing to a new ATH now and it did recover a lot from a previous dip in the price. We might see a new ATH soon... but there are no guarantee for that.  Wink

Important thing is.... get your baited hook into the river... or you will never be able to catch the big fish.  Wink
4286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warren Buffett Agrees That Bitcoin Is "Disgusting" on: May 02, 2021, 12:01:37 PM
The transient rise in the price of bitcoin has attracted many former critics of cryptocurrencies. This is definitely not the case when it comes to Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett and his right-hand man, Charlie Munger.
Munger said he hated the success of Bitcoin during the annual Berkshire shareholders' meeting on May 1. He added that all this progress and development is disgusting and contradicts the interests of civilization:
"Of course, I hate the Bitcoin success. I should say modestly that I think the whole damn development is disgusting and contrary to the interests of civilization, and I’ll leave the criticism to others."
While the Oracle of Omaha avoided asking about bitcoin, he agreed with Munger sharply: "I agree with that."
In May 2018, Warren Buffett called Bitcoin "rat poison."

Hate is irrational
These comments inevitably came under fire from the cryptocurrency community. Cryptocurrency economist and analyst Alex Krüger tweeted that hatred of money management was unreasonable:
"Munger's approach to coping with Bitcoin's success is hate. Can't be rational when hate is involved. Money managers that don't adapt to technological changes have a hard time outperforming.   "
Munger tends to speak very seriously about his contempt for the field of cryptocurrency as well as theoretical stocks. According to U. Today, the 97-year-old billionaire compared bitcoin and Tesla to "a lice and a flea" at the company's annual meeting in February.

Source: https://u.today/warren-buffett-agrees-that-bitcoin-is-disgusting

Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger is butt hurt because all the money going into Crypto currencies... are money not going into Berkshire Hathaway ....so it is just natural that they would hate the competition.

These guys wealth are dependent on the amount of money that are invested into the shares and stocks that they have in their portfolio... and Bitcoin are taking investor money away from that.

The Age of old money and rich old farts are ending... and they know it.  Wink
4287  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What are Bitcoin mixers, and why do exchanges ban them? on: May 02, 2021, 10:51:04 AM
Exchanges are a centralized target for governments, so they have to adhere to the strict KYC regulations. The Mixer services will destroy any traces of coins that were required through criminal actions, so it is just natural that Exchanges will flag those transactions and ban accounts when it is discovered that coins were send through mixers, before it was send to an Exchange.

The problem is, some people use Mixers to legally hide their financial wealth to protect them from criminals and they are also banned as a result of these Exchange blanket bans.  Angry
4288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: OSCARS 2021- Nominees, Odds and Predictions! on: May 02, 2021, 08:29:25 AM
I just had a good feeing when I watched, "My Octopus Teacher" on NetFlix and I actually told someone in the room that it is going to win a Oscar for the Best Documentary in this years Oscars. You cannot just not reward someone, when they dedicated so much time and effort (free diving for months) to get footage like that.  Grin

I am a bit surprised by the Best Picture, Nomadland... because I did not like it much. They always have some agenda with most of these movies.. mostly political.  Roll Eyes  (Economical hardship is coming)
4289  Economy / Economics / Re: “You don’t spend money now, you can’t spend after you died” on: May 01, 2021, 03:51:20 PM

It’s the best financial advice, covid is the marketing keyword to remind you, if you don’t spend every last penny in the wallet, you can never have a chance to spend that again. Spend until you drop you plebs!

The only pleb here is you. No wonder most of the world is in debt... because there are many people like you that are living in the moment and they never plan for the day of tomorrow. If I followed your advice, I would not have been debt free now and able to enjoy my life more... now that I have some money to enjoy it.

Yes, you cannot use your money when you are dead, but you will die without it. (Just look at the state of many African countries, where their economy collapsed, due to poor financial planning.  Angry
4290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JUST CURIOUS on: May 01, 2021, 08:04:50 AM
seeing top influencers buying into bitcoin and some going public to talk about shows bitcoin is a step ahead in the expected direction. everyone is probably buying and holding to sell at a higher price later. just curious to know how long these guys will hold bitcoin and what price they will likely sell ? is it even possible to know their mind ? but i am sure they are in for long term. what do you feel about this. ?

Influencers will be like any "newbie" out there, which means... when there are a slight drop in the price (10%) ...they will believe their followers that the sky is falling and they will be trigger happy and sell all their holdings.

It takes time and research for true traders to understand Bitcoin's volatility and how extreme the shift in the price can be. (A spike or drop of $1000 in one day is normal)  Wink
4291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I made a YouTube video "HOW TO USE BITCOIN PRIVATELY - 2021" on: April 30, 2021, 12:42:38 PM
OP, first of all.. you put a lot of thought into this video and you are giving a lot of quality information.... but the presentation is a bit boring. I would add some cut in scenes with animations and/or drawing to explain some of the concepts.

You did not explain clearly the difference between "centralized" mixers and "trust less" mixers. If I were you, I would make short "TikTok" videos to target the younger generation. (The younger people are the future of Crypto currencies)  Wink
4292  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - Million Dollar Race - UFC Official Betting Partner - Play Smarter 🥊 on: April 30, 2021, 09:19:37 AM
Sometimes hard work and grinding out hours and hours of play, just pay off. This is not a Slot where you just click "auto" and forget about it, you have to sit there and work for it, but sometimes it pays off.... (A lot of my friends tried and they got nothing)

http://prntscr.com/12aq6zs

I see some "Hidden" has blown past "MalteseFalcon" from nowhere in the 1Million Dollar race. I actually predicted that something like this will happen. Hope this person will reveal his true identity, because it will be a talking point for many months if he/she will stay hidden.  Roll Eyes
4293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This happened many months ago but still wanted to share. on: April 29, 2021, 06:40:45 PM
Those violations sounds like the excuses that are made up by insurance companies that does not want to payout claims when something happens to you. I hate these types of casinos that are willing to take your money, but when they have to payout your winnings ..then suddenly they have loads of excuses not to pay.

People should read the ToS and spot these types of services and avoid dumping a lot of money into these services. Also, Google this ..." Site name + Scam + complaints" ... you will then get a clear picture of the site..before you deposit.  Wink
4294  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - Million Dollar Race - UFC Official Betting Partner - Play Smarter 🥊 on: April 29, 2021, 05:23:13 PM
Most people here get 10 minute reloads, we have 3 hours of downtime after thousands of dollars lost and shitty returns the very least is they can bonus us what we missed. Post on twitter also, if Stake is a honorable book they will make this right.

Why should Stake reward it's customers when there are maintenance? The maintenance is done to improve the long-term experience of the user. (reducing errors / improving security / reducing lag etc.)

Will your Bank give you a bonus into your Bank account when their systems are down for maintenance? It is inevitable that sites will go down, once in a while, so we should not demand something when that happens.  Roll Eyes

Let's hope these changes and updates will improve our gaming experience.  Wink

Most reasons players try and get handouts after site lags or goes down are bs, but missing reloads for a few hours if you're on hourly or 10 minutes (I'm on daily) seems like something reasonable to ask about compensation for.

If your banks system goes down you're still going to get paid whatever interest rate was agreed on.

I do not see the "reloads" as a right... it is a privilege granted by the casino and it can be "paused" or taken away at their discretion at any time. (Just look at what Stake did with the "reload" privilege for the Platinum I users)

Banks pay interest, because they signed a contract with you to pay it... but they will not pay you, when you cannot access their services for a while. (Maintenance is just something that has to happen)  Roll Eyes
4295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Portfolio allocation on: April 29, 2021, 02:21:42 PM
I think you should post your whole financial portfolio and not just your Crypto portfolio. That way, we can see what your risk appetite is and how your Crypto portfolio should look like.

Example : Let's say you invest like this.. 90% in Banks / 5% in Gold / 5% in Crypto ... then your Crypto investment should be a high risk portfolio, because your main portfolio is low risk. (and visa versa, if you have a high risk main portfolio)  Wink
4296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: RUMOUR: Facebook will announce they hold #Bitcoin on: April 29, 2021, 12:29:34 PM
It is one thing announcing that you invested in Bitcoin or any other Crypto currency, but it is a whole other thing if they say.."We are planning to accept it as a currency on our platform in the future" .........now that will be great.  Wink

Lot's of large companies are buying Crypto currencies, like Tesla.. but they are doing this..because they are seeing it as an investment with high yields... (We need them to start accepting it as a currency and incorporating it into their technology as a payment option)  Roll Eyes

4297  Economy / Economics / Re: Are some too blind to see? on: April 28, 2021, 03:22:16 PM
Tesla takes profit from crypto investment and some stupid people aren't even bothered, like I always say even billionaires who invest in crypto are here for the profits no matter how long they chill and hype the coins, be smart people

Do you really think any company are going to invest in Crypto currencies for the "utility" or for "charity"? These companies can obviously see profit potential in Crypto currencies and they will chase those profits.

Elon Musk also said, "I did not sell any of my bitcoins" ...Why did he tweet that?... because he knows something is going to happen in the future with his companies or other companies and it is obviously going to be done with bitcoins. (He will sell, when the Moon happens)  Roll Eyes

No you have it wrong my friend. This guy is out to destroy Freebitco.in's reputation. His main account was tainted and now he is using Alt accounts to attack Freebitco.in. It is just #TheQuin's responsibility to protect Freebitco.in, because he is paid to moderate this thread and to communicate with it's users.

It is a pity that the dirty washing is washed in public and unfortunate that there are no way to resolve this, because this has been going on for months now.

4300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: (I have not sold any bitcoins) New words from Elon Musk on: April 28, 2021, 05:44:14 AM
There have been numerous allegations that Elon Musk sold bitcoin to prove liquidity, and this led to the sale of 10% of Tesla's assets.
But Elon Musk denied the claim, saying that he had not sold any of his bitcoins, and that Tesla had sold some of its bitcoins in the first three months of the year & earning $ 272 million.

The news shows that Elon Musk and Tesla have chosen a large amount of bitcoin as their capital, and by accepting bitcoin for their own transactions, they are launching a bitcoin revolution.
