4281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit (25.5%) vs Bitcoin Unlimited (25.2%) on: March 09, 2017, 12:41:05 PM

I'm not entirely sure of what happened but It looks like Bitcoin Unlimited is seriously catching up with SegWit while SW is pretty much stable and not changing. I want to know now, If BU get 95%, is it when It will get activated and If yes, we will have to download another client or they will take control over the current Bitcoin Core Repository because It looks pretty much confusing... and should we switch our coins somewhere else after that?

Its not yet time to panic since the Segwit and Block unlimited is having a tie and there is no consensus yet. But i still bet on the 8mb increased on blocksize and hoping that there will be a miracle during the last hour. But if another choice will be approved then it is still okay for me since what we need today are solutions to the long confirmation and higher fees on transactions.
4282  Economy / Speculation / Re: Shorting Btc during crash ? on: March 09, 2017, 12:35:39 PM
I am totaly noob on trading but i was thinking that the odds are high at the moment that Btc may start crashing tomorrow...

I was thinking what if i short 1 Btc for example on bitmex with a leverage  20x to x50 or 100 x during the crash ?

Is it very risky ? Cause for me it looks interesting ... what are the risk?

All advises are welcome...

Well investment is not there in a safe mode but it is always has a risk attached to it. The higher the risk the higher the income if it succeed. If you are not up to the challenge then dispose all your bitcoins today and live a normal life without bitcoin by your side. But what you think is impossible to happen as of this moment and so there  is nothing to worry.
4283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF approval 72% favour? on: March 09, 2017, 12:15:44 PM
It seems around 72% of public is in favour of bitcoin ETF approval. The other 28% have raised the issue i.e., the fear of hard fork. Will Bitcoin ETF will be approved soon?

We still dont have the answer and so we are but to wait for the decision. Though the majority of the public is in favor of ETF but they are not the one who will make the decision but the SEC. This just means that even if we really wanted it hard we cannot have it if the SEC will not allow it. The best thing to do now is to wait if ETF will be approved or not.
4284  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are all american racists? Do they hate all outsiders/immigrants? on: March 09, 2017, 12:10:34 PM
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/nri/us-canada-news/indian-shot-dead-by-american-spewing-racial-slurs-in-kansas/articleshow/57322818.cms
A recent racism activity and we have seen similar incidents before also.Even some cops are racists who take undue advantage of opportunity and shoot immigrants and blacks.
Has the country now became totally unsafe for immigrants?Trump move to prevent/reduce immigration was appreciated by all of us because it was meant for betterment of country and to increase jobs prevent crimes...But this crime looks as racist activity and not for any good advantage. Are such activities still supported and considered as for good of the country?

America is not a racist country in the present, but it was before when they massacred thousands of american indians. America today has become much better than it was before treating all races with care as long as they are not a hindrance to their goals and agendas. America is not discriminating the muslims when they banned muslims from getting in the country. There are reasons for that and you will know the answer when you can determine why those immigrants are not taking shelter on Arab countries.
4285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which one will you used? on: March 09, 2017, 11:53:52 AM
For now I still convert Bitcoin to my local currencies and buy what I need, why I do this because there's no much shop in my country accept Bitcoin as a payment and though there's goods they are sell is not goods for daily use.

You are right in that point. The current condition of bitcoin nowadays displays bitcoin as a stock more than as a currency. There are only a few and selected place both offline and online that accepts bitcoin as a mode of payment but majority thinks of bitcoin as a stock. With this reality we have no choice but to trade our bitcoin to local cash so we can purchase the things that we need.
4286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mining centralized on: March 09, 2017, 11:50:39 AM
Bitcoin mining is a good concept which provides reward for miners who help to solve the transactions. But,nowadays, has it made bitcoin get accumulated in the hands of only those who can afford thousands of dollars of ASIC hardware? Has bitcoin been centralized?

Bitcoin in itself is decentralized but you got that point when you say that it is starting to be a centralized currency. The main reason is the bitcoin mining sector. There is a problem reaching a consensus due to personal greed of large group that wanted to be on the top of the chain. They probably wanted to have a control and power over the mining industry. Bitcoin is very valuable and thats why the greedy groups has making its way to get a hold on bitcoin network.
4287  Other / Politics & Society / Re: North Korea fires four ballistic missiles into sea, angering Japan and South on: March 09, 2017, 11:38:34 AM
North Korea fired four ballistic missiles into the sea off Japan's northwest on Monday, angering South Korea and Japan, days after it promised retaliation over U.S.-South Korea military drills it sees as a preparation for war.

South Korea's military said the missiles were unlikely to have been intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM), which can reach the United States. The missiles flew on average 1,000 km (620 miles) and reached a height of 260 km (160 miles).

Some of the missiles landed in waters as close as 300 km (190 miles) from Japan's northwest coast, Japan's Defence Minister Tomomi Inada said in Tokyo.

Looks like North Korea is provoking again.

As to what is the reason behind that firing of ballistic missiles into the sea locate at Japan's northwest by the North Korean government still remains a mystery. But one thing is clear South Korea, Japan and America will not rest easy until they placed some security measures and and can be competent that if there will be missile attacks coming from North Korea.
4288  Economy / Economics / Re: Finanacial System on: March 09, 2017, 11:33:15 AM
What are the threats for financial system from bitcoin?

Financial system is a very complex kind of system and even bitcoin is also a part of that. But if we want to really look into the details bitcoin is not a threat to the traditional financial system rather it will help in solving many problems that underlies the fiat financial system. Due to this some countries are already studying bitcoins due to its potential in the financial payment system.
4289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Migrating from Bitcoin Core to Bitcoin Unlimited on: March 09, 2017, 11:25:14 AM
With the release of bitcoin core 0.14, do I upgrade bitcoin core or migrate to Bitcoin Unlimited?

Should I decided to migrate to Bitcoin Unlimited, what are the recommended steps or risks associated in performing this operation?

In my own opinion the best choice would be to upgrade your bitcoin core than to shift to bitcoin unlimited. Bitcoin unlimited has so many flaws and the consensus on using Bitcoin Unlimited did not come to be realized as yet. And so not until there is a clear consensus I suggest that you should just upgrade your core. But I dont have to really place my opinion on you and in the end its up to you as to what will be your decision.
4290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as reserve currency. on: March 09, 2017, 11:17:18 AM
It has been estimated that Bitcoin would be the sixth largest reserve currency in the world in 2030.Could bitcoin become the first largest reserve currency and when?

Well if they estimated that it will happen in the world in 2030 then that will be the time for it to possibly become the  first largest reserve currency. The one who made the predictions are well capable and are experts in terms of finance and economics compared to me I am nothing compared to their level. And so I place my trust on their expertise that it will happen by 2030. For me the most important thing right now is that bitcoin is increasing in value.
4291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It a Blessing or a Curse If The Red Dragon Controls the Future of Bitcoin? on: March 09, 2017, 08:48:33 AM
The price of a bitcoin has surpassed the price of one ounce gold for the first time ever, reaching more than 1290 per unit last Friday. Maybe u r starting to persuade family and friends around you to buy bitcoin, but have u ever thought of this question:
what will be the future of bitcoin?
could it be dethroned by other currencies or be banned? Or even worse, it night be controlled by Chinese investors.
what's on ur mind?

Read more about worst possibilities of bitcoin at:
http://news.8btc.com/is-it-a-blessing-or-a-curse-if-the-red-dragon-controls-the-future-of-bitcoin

Those things are just conspiracy theories. The only important thing is that bitcoin today has a good value and is increasing in value almost everyday. Countries banning bitcoin is no longer a threat to bitcoin since many countries are now thinking of accepting bitcoins like Switzerland does. The future of bitcoin is as clear as a sky. Nobody will control bitcoin even the red dragon you are talking about is an impossibility.
4292  Other / Politics & Society / Re: No Help from Islamic Nations. on: March 08, 2017, 12:57:41 PM
I dont see any Islamic nations taking in the refugees. Countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar are more than capable to take in and feed these refugees. Is it mandatory that the USA should take them in, why dont they want to go to other Islamic States?

Outside Mecca lies a  camp for pilgrims. It houses a million people in airconditioned tents and had all amenities anyone away from home could ask for.

This camp remains unoccupied for the greater part of the year.
This is because the migrants want to escape not so much from the war as to move in wealthy Western countries where unemployment benefits are higher than wages in their countries.

The reason why they leave their country is because of war, poverty and hunger. If they migrate into another Muslim country they will still suffer the same fate since there are no humanitarian aides that will be given to them and they will still die from hunger and poverty. But western countries especially those who are part of the united nations are a members of countries who are promoting humanitarian rights and due to that they are obliged to offer humanitarian aide, shelter and assistance to the immigrants.
4293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no competition on: March 08, 2017, 12:52:08 PM
There's some innovation in the altcoin scene. However there will likely never be enough to outmatch Bitcoin. In my opinion you would need an entirely new concept to achieve that.

Altcoins serve as a testing ground for new ideas. The good ones might later be integrated into Bitcoin, while the original altcoin is abandoned. The network effect of Bitcoin is just too strong for any other outcome. The key factor for the attractiveness of a cryptocurrency is the size of its user base and development community. No altcoin can compete with Bitcoin in that regard.

Alternative coins are not made to be a testing ground for new ideas. They are made by the developer to compete with bitcoin and to make profit. If you can noticed the developers are selling their coins to the public and the main idea is so that they can get profit from the coin that they created. Some coins succeed  but others have failed and are considered shitcoins.
4294  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who is stronger the government or the president? on: March 08, 2017, 12:47:21 PM
Sorry not knowing this kind of stuff, its just i wanted to know who's the strong one of them because some of my friend told me that the government is strong because they can decide to impeach the president and also i thought that president is more stronger than the government for that the president is more likely  has a bigger rank of his country.. so i need your opinion on this one and teach me Cheesy

When we speak of government and the president there are no things to discuss. The president is the head of the government and cannot be a president of a country without a government. A government is the system that is made for the purpose of serving the people. It is made by the people to serve the people. In a government the president as well as all the officials and political entities are not powerful but the wielder of power are the people because the real government are the people.
4295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is treated a stock on: March 08, 2017, 12:41:26 PM
I thought at first that Bitcoin will be a currency to be used in the future. But from what I am seeing here is that it will be treated as a stock, it is even compared to gold. What do you guys think?

I also think that, because right now it's still very little bitcoin scope of movement. So if we are not utilizing prices bitcoin then, use bitcoin is absolutely useless. Now I also use bitcoin as a place of investment, because using bitcoin can I get huge money only in a matter of days or years. Although bitcoin has the advantage, but we should also be able to use the bitcoin is reasonably. Because if not then it is feared will give bad impact

But do you honestly think that bitcoin is not a currency right now? but if you are thinking about making bitcoin a currency of the future and speaking of it bitcoin will become the only currency available? I think it is a negative and other countries would find this as a no for them I think every country does want their own currency for them to use and for me bitcoin is a currency for the world and I think that is a great currency that anybody can use!

Though bitcoin is a currency but we cannot deny that it can still be considered as a stock. Bitcoin is both a currency and a stock and the only way for bitcoin to be listed out as a stock is when it will become a fully independent currency. As of this moment bitcoin is relying and being backed up by the fiat currencies and it cannot stand alone and that is the main reason people are treating it as a stock.
4296  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: March 08, 2017, 12:37:05 PM
Paper money goes into digital format. This is so that you can monitor where you spend your money.
I am sure that money will become digital. But this will not happen soon

Converting fiat paper money into a digital money will take some time and eventually a long time before that date in the future there will be many preparations and adjustment that has to be done before that can come true. In order for it to be realized there are certain conditions to be met, first is that all people will have an internet connection and will be knowledgeable about digital currency. Another thing a system must also be set so that even in the place without internet payment system can still be processed.
4297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you save bitcoin for fun or for future purpose? on: March 08, 2017, 12:32:58 PM
The reason why Im here doing extra effort to do my tasks in signature campaign because I want to save bitcoin for the future. Actually I do spend bitcoin for my daily expenses and saving some for the future. Because I believe bitcoin has a big future in the long run...

Preparing for the future is really the best reason for holding bitcoins. I am saving all my satoshi right now with the hope that when the price of bitcoin hits 4k dollars each I will convert it to cash and I will build my own house. For now I already have saved 0.1 bitcoins and I need more 3.9 bitcoins to make my dreams come true. Well its a tiring job to earn bitcoins and to hold it but its worth a while when my house will be erected in the future.
4298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bank??? on: March 08, 2017, 12:24:38 PM
IS there any Bitcoin Bank that really works like bank that provide interest for customer that available in this world?

I am not really agreed on  Bitcoin bank, I don't know why some of the people in this industry are trying to push or promote the bitcoin bank. Maybe he/she has an intention to get the trust of the bitcoin users which is once they get it and many are entrust their bitcoin in it. There is a possibility that the owner of the bitcoin bank can declare bankruptcy, so their client had nothing to do with it. Same as the policy in typical bank in the private sector. Sad
ea
Many are proposing a bitcoin banks because they wanted security against hackers and volatility. And if in case the bank will be hacked or anything there is an insurance that will refund the depositors. We cannot blame these people since they probably lost a significant amount from hacking and volatility of bitcoins. Bitcoin bank is not bad but it must exist when bitcoin has already met its maximum value at 100 million dollars each.
4299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin/Blockhain is dead. on: March 08, 2017, 12:07:27 PM
Bitcoin/blockchain isn't dead. It's going through stunted growth pains due to the influence of self interested bad actors.

The author was just emotional about what happened to him. To express his emotions and disappointment to the current situation in terms of transaction confirmation he posted this kind of topic. But he is not serious about his post and the reason is because he is still doing a signature campaign and he is still expecting to be paid by bitcoins.
4300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoins is now same as paypal(and worst) on: March 08, 2017, 11:55:39 AM
Well, we have now to send transactions with a fee $1-$10 otherwise the transaction will never get confirmed

Just telling you, don't waste your time posting a thread on tech problems section

Even now transactions with less than 0.01 BTC will never get confirmed(or it will take longer)

You delvs didn't trough this could happend if the bitcoins went up the market?

Yeah, but good thing that I cashed out my bitcoins earlier haha.

Speaking of one dollar that is very true and I experienced that when I tried to transfer my bitcoins from one exchanger to my wallet address. But a ten dollar miner fee is too much, it is already an exaggeration of the mining fees that are currently existing right now. The rate is just at 1$ with the highest of 2$ per transactions. But even though the highest is 2 dollars that is big enough and is a pain in our pocket.
