4281  Economy / Economics / Re: Malaysia to Limit Cash Transactions in 2020 on: November 15, 2019, 12:08:28 AM
This is a positive move of the Singapore government to support the 4.0 technology industry.
I appreciate this because when we pay with cryptocurrencies or credit card currencies it is faster and the service is faster.
A world that is growing and accelerating will need technology. what a smart move!
LOL this is malaysia's government and it's not like restricting the use of Cash will do any better but just restricting people from doing what they want. Yeah paying using card is fast and more but you will ended up paying unnecessary fee that should not be there in the first place if you are using cash. although using cash sometimes inconvenient but people have option right? it's always better to keep people choose for themselves whether to use cash or card because restricting like that is not a good solution even when the problem isnt there in the first place.
4282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how do you identify a transparent project team? on: November 14, 2019, 11:20:08 PM
If the project is a scam, it would be really silly of its team to show their true identities. In most cases, they just find some pics online and use them as the images of their “Chief Financial Officers” or “advisors,” as was seen  in Empire Card who used a picture of French actress Sabine de Poncins, little known outside of France, as the portrait of their proud imaginary CEO Patricia Harrison. There have even been reports of Ryan Gosling “working” for a project as a designer under a completely different name.
Some scammers are, however, way more intricate. They know it’s quite easy to reveal a fake pic so they just hire people to pose as their CEOs, CFOs, and so forth. Rumor has it that certain scammers even pay homeless people to pretend they’re leading a disruptive startup to a bright and radiant future. This fraud is much harder to call out, but at least those guys help homeless people in some way, so here’s your silver lining.

It is really tricky and difficult to determine the legitimacy of the project on pictures alone. I wonder if the project team could present a video of themselves like it's a normal day on the office or some information/promotional video. If they could explain the project extensively. Or, make live video updates on social media platforms. Though, these are not enough proof, at least it is a start.
Usually a legit project will just do that. in the past there are plenty of developers making an interview of themselves or with their team therefore people could know whether this person is a real thing or not. But, doing that did not mean that we can trust the developer blindly because even there are some developers that despite known by the public and his face is already published still scam people because they are probably criminal. so, always be careful and look after any possiblity regarding a project.
4283  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Could Make Bitcoin Drop To $5? on: November 14, 2019, 02:57:17 PM
Every hacking attempt drops Bitcoin price to low level, so if a group of hackers can hack wallets exchange and they find vulnerabilities on private keys, then it's possible that Bitcoin will hit $5, or even lower, but we have proven that Bitcoin is very secured but if there is a super computer that can disrupt the ledger or erase the blockchain info, then that would be a disaster.
I'm not sure that hackers can lower prices, even $ 5. however, the current price effect is due to the need and demand. when bitcoin is no longer used, and is no longer needed, then the price will decrease far even potentially to make the price of bitcoin to zero.
but, until now, the potential for it does not exist, even rumored the price of bitcoin will continue to increase.
The only thing in thought that could potentially force bitcoin's price down is probably if the government across the world cooperating to prohibit the use of any cryptocurrency by that people will avoid bitcoin because of the risk however doesn't meant that price can go down that much to $5 though because some people will just sneak and use it without the government knowing just like how torrent has given freedom to peolpe who want to share their file p2p without any authority interfering and maybe if the blockchain is somehow stuck because of losing hash power considering that bitcoin is still use Proof of Work which means require hash power but the chance for that to happen is really low.
4284  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance to Open Beijing Office Amid China’s Renewed Blockchain Push on: November 13, 2019, 11:14:23 PM
It makes complete business sense for them to open office in China, we all know how China operates and if the people bought into what the president says then it is a new big market. I would expect more exchanges to follow suit because  they won't want to miss out of the new opportunity

Yes, when China announces its support in blockchain technology and wants to accelerate the development, it opens more opportunities to more investors and developers including exchanges. CZ's move to open Binancein China is timely and open a great opportunity to traders and cryptocurrency in general.
Im pretty sure that CZ somehow has understood the situation there to take risk off opening up a new office in Beijing its not like he just build the office there without any understanding. Whether it will be benificial for binance or not is up to china decision in the future and it seems that binance will only follow the flow. But if chinna is really trying to bring adoption to blockchain it might greatly benefit binance so thats why he tries to gain market share there just in case.
4285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can blockchain infrastructure be used in healthcare? on: November 13, 2019, 10:01:52 PM
Well im pretty sure that if the blockchain is stored inside the hospital’s computer it is the same as centralized blockchain and can still be manipulated different if the blockchain is stored across different hospital in the country then it will be hard to manipulate. If I’m not mistaken there are some project that are working on creating the blockchain for medical purpose but now the news from them are never heard of. Maybe the implementation is still hard for now.
4286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you choose DEX? How to avoid scam? on: November 12, 2019, 11:48:40 PM
Trying not to use exchanges I have never heard about before. And usually using centralised exchanges, they have more volume and working without blockchain bugs Smiley
Well most of the scams nowadays are coming from a newly released centralized exchange which the people behind that platform have absolute power over anything happens within the platform meanwhile most of new DEX are just reusing the existing codes from reliable sources which has been reviewed by the communities and im pretty sure that a new dex is a lot safer than new centralized exchange only if the code is legit.
4287  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Libra Disrupt The Financial/Economic System? on: November 12, 2019, 10:00:44 PM
Maybe yes. (but I'm not sure yet). Libra is said to disrupt the financial system because it will potentially become a world currency. As far as I know, Facebook has launched a cryptocurrency called Libra since a few months ago. The aim is to make it easier for people to send money around the world.
It will certainly disrupt however might only disrupt in the US which where it mainly originates from in the other region there are plenty of cashless method and I think Libra will have a hard time penetrating other market. What makes Libra got the government backlash is because it could potentially become a threat to the USD considering that it is trying to gain as much user in US.
4288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple CEO: As many as 99% of all cryptocurrencies will likely go to zero, on: November 11, 2019, 11:55:53 PM
Considering that there are thousands of cryptos and still emerging day by day I could say that the 1% left will be plenty and I assume those are the top 100 cryptos that will remain as strong as ever and the rest will be eliminated naturally by the low volume delisting, not a dreamy number I guess.
Although it will not necessarily happening in the future so just take this statement of ripple CEO with a grain of salt. Ripple is a ll about self profit anyway.
4289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you choose DEX? How to avoid scam? on: November 11, 2019, 11:02:03 PM
Big fan of the Blocknet DEX here.

Below is some of the most popular DEX's compared to Blocknet's DEX. You could argue that Blocknet lacks in volume though, which is totally true, but we need more volume on all DEX's for them to be worth trading on IMHO.

Made me chuckle a bit haha, it is true though that no mattet how best the DEX is the problem still remain they are lacking the volume to work properly as an exchange which should provide liquidation even not only Blocknet’s DEX but many of DEX aswell even Binance DEX which is far behind compared toits conventional exchange. I’d just use the most reliable dex since long wgo which is Etherdelta but only ERC20 token and the rest of coin I will use Binance DEX although it is not a true DEX but atleast it is safe alright.
4290  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin is not that good as currency? on: November 11, 2019, 10:31:50 PM
1. We already have a lot of physical currencies and they appear useless in front of bitcoin.
2. There are countries where bitcoin is legal then there are those governments who are still sleeping in this matter.
3. Legality and mainstreaming is just a matter of time.

1. I'm a cryptocurrency enthusiast, but I must say that fiat money still has more use than Bitcoin to this day. And we might have to wait a few more years to confidently say that Bitcoin is way better than fiat money. Disclaimer, we are talking about "usefulness".
2. It's because they have to deal with more important matters than Bitcoin.
3. Agreed.

1. Erteria and Japan are frontiers who adopted cryptocurrency
2. Even democratic countries not trying to adopt it.

1. I've heard Japan adopted it some time ago, but this is the first time knowing Eritrea adopted it as well.
2. Democratic countries are probably the most "political" driven type of government. So I think, other matters are more of value to them than to just take their time on cryptocurrency--Bitcoin at the very least.
Some countries tend to follow after another more specifically are a economically fragile country will follow after developed countries like for example US
It's not that democratic country is too political driven that they are too busy dealing with such matter, actually they can but they are just too afraid to have their first move since it's an inevitable technology and avoiding or accepting it will definitely bring different long time result. It has always been like that since ancient time.
4291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do people still create new ERC20 tokens/projects nowadays? on: November 10, 2019, 10:51:31 PM
I was wondering if ERC20 tokens are still useful today and if people still create projects around them? I know the ICO 'feast' is kind of over and that was the main purpose people were launching these tokens for.

Greetings to the community,

Liviu

ERC20 projects are still being launched, although the raising of funds are getting difficult for then due to the bad reputation of ICOs for the past two years. It's simple to use than to create their own blockchain. There are few "useful" erc20 tokens like BAT. But many others are not popular in the market.

I guess, the OP knows by now the answer to his question. As you can see also in this forum alone, everyday you can see a new project and the chance that it is under eth is very high. But yes, though they are still creating and launching projects under eth, the raising of their respective funds has no assurance because most of those investors were already burnt for the past 2 years having these ICOs. Yet, they are still taking their chances from those investors.
Definitely true. Project with ERC20 based token are till appearing one sfter another but people are just burnt out to this kind of thing resulting in failing of gathering fund. Most of people have switched over to IEO which majority of them are using the exchanges’ blockchain.  Despite of that the erc20 token from the old days still have its dominance anyway it just time passes and everything is changing slowly.
4292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can an expert tell me how to identify a shitcoin (example: Insight Chain) on: November 10, 2019, 09:47:37 PM
Some of my friends did an analysis by observing the social activities of the project.  My friend asked for an explanation and authentic evidence of the strategic steps, activities and development of the project.  an official project will surely be happy to explain its development with photographs, on the contrary, a fake project will try to cover up and cannot provide evidence.
Usually some project with no vision will also struggle providing technical information into their community as well as how the project will progress into the future. Their roadmap also usually just there and not being followed.
The lack of motivation from the developer side usually is an obvious sign of shitcoin.
If you uust want to be sure to avoid these kind of coin just stick to top 20 coin it is that simple because there is no point of owning shitcoin anyway.
4293  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Risks with using trading Signals on: November 10, 2019, 02:00:03 PM
I look at trading signals as organized schemes to lure the gullible people into  a trap. Because it doesn't end in joy for the greedy. This signals are arranged in a way that make people trust them and dive in, which they end up making profits and leaving others in oblivion.
That is usually the case when there is a trading signal service and having a big community in it the so called expert will eive and take advantage of the people’s money meanwhile they are cashing out while the market is being pumped by their victim. Trading signal is a fancy name for prediction it could definitely goes wrong and that happens really often. There are some people that are good at analyzation but still it is always better to do all by yourself. Never think that following trading signal will give you absolute profit.
4294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: No Wonder Satoshi Disappeared... on: November 09, 2019, 11:26:39 PM
whether he disappeared or still alive, he could not do anything about bitcoin since there were so many people holding bitcoin and the right to manipulate belonged to others. Satoshi is only a name now and he no longer has any special influence.
Satoshi is the creator of almost all the cryptocurrency. The Bitcoin created by him has created a whole market. Do you think that means nothing?
Pretty sure he refer to the fact that bitcoin is decentralized even satoshi has no control over it but the name satoshi still has influence to the public. You need to note that satoshi did not create all the cryptos. He’s publishing the bitcoin source code indeed but there are plenty of coins that are quite different to bitcoin and last time ai remember the coin that has familiar code to bitcoin is Litecoin.
4295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the safest way to buy crypto? on: November 09, 2019, 04:01:20 PM
If you are worried about money being stolen, you should not use cryptocurrency. As fraudulent behavior becomes increasingly sophisticated, it is very difficult to prevent. Any platform can have holes, just we don't know yet.   Grin Grin Grin
That is exactly why you need to put more concern regarding security mainly because you are your own bank which means there is no third party risk and warranty involved you own the money you are responsible for it. However there are many method to keep your funds secured and doing that is a piece of cake if you want to spare a some time learning. One more thing you need take care of is about how the regulation in your own country and obey their anti money laundering rules.
4296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Withdraw your funds from the top 10 Exchange now !!! on: November 09, 2019, 03:19:58 PM
this is a warning !!!
Top 10 big exchanges is the next target hackers !!!
good luck, and be careful Smiley

Just apply your mind and do not unnecessarily react on such fud. Although it is preferred to keep your valuable coins in some secure wallet instead on keeping the same in an exchange wallet but such one statement from a new person on this forum is not enough to react immediately. Good exchanges wallets are secured enough provided you chose 2FA authentication. Try not to share sensitive information of your account to any unknown person.
Usually hackers nowaday target the hot wallet directly by exploiting the hole within the exchange security however they also phished people into giving away their data so I think 2FA could prevent from hacking aswell
I do agree that OP is just being too paranoid, the exchange will always invest into the security of their exchange because once hackers could get through it is the same as being doomed by that fact investing to security is the first thing to come in the mind of an exchange developers

If someone is too afraid of losing their cryptos the answer is as simple as using hardware wallet.
4297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good projects/hard to reach softcap on: November 08, 2019, 10:52:39 PM
Few good projects i have seen are having hard time to gather funds, they are still far behind to reaching their target softcap
1. Bitwings
2. EZ365

What do you have in mind about these two project? they are good enough to give a try for me, what do you say?
I don't know anything about these projects, but I think you need to stick to a simple tactic. Invest after the project overcomes the soft cap.
Sounds like a good idea but doesnt actually work. Ive seen so many project reaching soft cap but have no volume in exchange because they are already draining the demands for their coin in the softcap and people are not buying anymore through the exchanges. It is always those project that struggles to reach softcap and finally reach it with blood and sweat that usually have a hard time gaining big liquidity in the exchange. If you want to know a good project just find that is hyped. Atleast they got the community to support the liquidity.
4298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: could it be most project don't succeed? on: November 08, 2019, 10:18:40 PM
It's not like this forum (you mention BTT) is responsible for such thing anyway this forum is only giving a free market for project to start their own ICO by announcing here, the rest of thing that happened is up to the people and most of the helpful thread regarding list of phishy project also created insividually by users not the forum moderator.

Most project dont succed because it follows the natural selection even Initial Public Offering ususlly gives a really dissapointing result despite the fact that some of them are from popular giant company.
4299  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin demand in economically volatile countries surges on: November 06, 2019, 11:18:22 PM
The amount of money isn't that big for a country that needs more of it though.

This is a good news and like a scenery to me seeing countries that are slowly adopting bitcoin as a real currency, though most of the countries are not still into cryptocurrency, but this is a big hope that someday in the future, all of the Governments will open their hearts and eyes to accept that bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies is not a threat, but a blessing in disguise.

Hopefully that could happen. The more countries applied blockchain on their daily systems the easier to see cryptocurrencies are also going to be adopted in different industries, right now cryptocurrencies are growing in numbers for each uses.

Bitcoin may just be use for now by the people in the above countries to store the money they have in times uncertainty like the political instability.
Hmhm. I don't think you could classify this as a "crypto revolutuon", it's mostly just a bunch of rich people that already have assets to protect are looking towards the crypto side of things in case their entire finance sector collapses.

I'm going to guess and think that a lot of people in those countries have already lost a lot of their funds due to the situation of their government/war.

How the media deals with these issues is going to be important.
yeah they are just using bitcoin temporarily once the economic problems settle down they will return to use the cash anyway. It is not like bitcoin is being adopted there they are just trying to find a way of saving all their money instead of betting on their volatile economy which could make them poor anytime.
It is like when riot happens in Hong Kong the news about people converting their wealth to bitcoin surfaces across the media.
4300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do u think about BNB? Worth to buy? on: November 06, 2019, 10:04:07 PM
i am not sure about BNB, just exchange coin and it's price so high. but it will is the best choice if you trust binance exchange. They are good team of cryptocurrency on the world.

Youre only looking on their image I think. Have you seen how binance chain working? I think it's worth every penny and even lots of super new projects are on their end. I think you can say Binance can be the next ethereum since almost all tokens ot project are shifting on binance chain. Improved and faster ecosystem but Im not saying that ethereum is weak.
It certainly capable of that however binance coin is tied to the exchange whereas Ethereum is not it is kinda different though. It is undeniably fact that most of the popular project are now using Binance's IEO which could increase the demand for BNB however everything didn't last forever just like ICO which now turn its time to IEO. BNB could lost its value anytime if the exchange did something wrong or have security breaches so people must consider that as well.
However talking about BNB I do agree that it is arguably better than Ethereum when it comes to the transaction time, will be interesting to see in depth comparison.
