I wonder if someone will make a direct pcie adapter like the gridseeds have.

A question to mstrongbow about the breakout board does it have an on /off switch?

To anyone thinking about buying these they are very quiet.
They run very stable at freq 270.

They are under 40 watts on a seasonic platinum psu.

They pulse their watt readings  my 2 read 68 to 78 watts on my k-watt meter.

I will have a breakout board in house soon and 4 more of these.
I will setup the six on an antec 650 watt plat psu and give a very good set of photos and power readings on the six.

My hope for these is 6 = 192gh and 220watts with the plat psu

My big hope is someone figures out a undervolt underclock pencil method. like the s-1 thread on this subject.

I run 3 s-1's at 420gh and 563 watts.

If I could get 6 of these to do   162 gh and 150 watts It makes them worth more in the future.

At the  current price of 650 usd a  btc  and 15 cents a kwatt these still pay for power  up to Dec.

If under volting helps a lot they could pay for power until Jan /Feb

you would do the mod around thanksgiving

Excellent work!
That is clean, allows for easy access to the connections and holds it securely from the looks of it.
 Cool

Thanks mate! Very secure indeed. The board remains in the mount even when removing the 20+4pin PSU connector.

Just a note....

DO NOT PLUG MORE THAN ONE (1) PSU INTO THESE BREAKOUT BOARDS.
^bad things happen! (to the secondary psu)   Cry

I just found out the hard way earlier this evening, heh

Time for a quick frag then off to destroy (finish) the cover/lid for these suckers!

I did that with a fan controller..   I  accidentally plugged in a second psu  the first psu a 110 usd antec 650 watt plat burnt up.

Great work!  I will be up for a couple of them when you are ready.
It would make my reviews and setups so much easier.
 Smiley

Awesome and yeah, I am tired of my breakout board just dangling from my Antfarm, hehe

I will also be offering these in multiple mounting styles with one being "universal" incorporating a couple types of mounting styles (zip/twist tie, slotted, outside{as shown} etc.). I am open to suggestions.  I also have a couple standard ATX PSU mounts available...working on a universal one of these as well, dang switch location/orientation varies so much.

Just had a good idea...designing and printing some cable-management clips for my Antfarm and R-Box units  Cool

You could pick up a pack of pipe cleaners they are better then zip ties and better then twist ties.

Easy to use over and over much long then a twist tie.  I mounted high speed fans on my antminer s-1's.

I will find a photo  here is a link.

thanks for the support and the price of host fee on the professional data center will adjust to 185$ and the price on simple data center will adjust to 135$, but currently, there is no place to place new host order, but the new simple data center will ready within one week and new professional data center will ready within 2-3 weeks
here is the new host price table
(edited image for space)
nice  a good deal just got better.  I am getting ready to order my second 1 th  hosting  in just a little bit.
Edit:

So If I order today with the professional data center.

  I send a paypal for 1699 + 4% fee   that is 67.96 a grand total of  1766.96.

 I fill the form out.

So when does it mine?

24 hours or less?

I then need to pay the hosting fee of 185 usd  on what day?

Quoted from above I hope it helps here is brief version on what day please whole thing for more clarification: "currently, there is no place to place new host order, but the new simple data center will ready within one week and new professional data center will ready within 2-3 weeks"
\

 that is why I asked.

I understand it to mean if I send money today I won't mine until 14-21 days if I want the pro center.

And I won't mine until 7 days if I want the lessor center.   So I am not going to do it if I have to wait that long for the hosting to start.
I will stay with the 1th machine That I have.

doc I have a question how hard would it be for you to run a solo mining pool.

 something like this pool

http://bitsolo.net/

I would love the idea of a real pool operator like yourself running a solo pool.

along side your normal pool.

You have a proven record of being honest and a legit solo pool would attract people.

For instance lets say you have an ant miner s-1 pulls 200gh  and you have 5 antminer u-2's pulls 10gh

You could point the big gun at your shared pool  and use the sticks as a shot to get lucky.

I am looking for a way to get new buyers on ebay.  I plan to sell the new r-box miners on ebay.  If I sell them as a two pack I could encourage the buyers to come to your site.  put one in the shared pool and one in the solo pool.

Just a thought.

How much is hosting fee for a Dragon 1T per month?
What is included in the hosting plan?

You offer different hosting plans?

This is a quote from page 34 by pcfli it shows a good explanation of differences of hosting and pricing.  As far as price for unit of dragon it's on the first page of thread.

updated on 27 May 2014
Hello, every one,  since the dragon 1T bitcoin miner can't mining as much as before with the increased difficulty, the 225$ host fee seems more and more expensive.
To provide better service and save your guys money, we have co-operated with a new simple data center, where the electricity is very cheap and we can set the host fee for each dragon miner as 150$ each miner each month.
however, because it is not a professional data center like we current use, the warranty will be also limited
1) we only promise that the offline time will not exceed 24 hours each month
2) you can only use eliguis pool.
3) no remote access to the miner
Currently we have 12 unit in this simple data center and you can check the detail of the miner through the following link
http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/131gBm2SsBjWBLePCVQpSB4gYwbA7e9vS1

and see the worker detail by clicking the tag "toggle display of worker details"

if you want to buy one such miner, just tell me which worker you want to pick and give me your btc address, then we will point it to your btc address on eligius pool,

the price of one 1T dragon miner is 1850$ in this miner, but we promise to switch to your pool within 24 hours(usually only need 1-4 hours on work day)and you need pay three month host fee in advance.

Thanks for information.
Price is too much for both hosting plans.

okay you think he charges to much to host correct?

Show me a better deal on this site for 1th hosted.

There is no better deal that I can find.

Go to the top of this thread the 1th machine costs 1699 usd for 1 th  pay to host up front on the cheap plan 3x 150 = 450.

so that is 2150 usd for 1th.    90 days paid up hosting.  full warranty on the machine,  find cheaper on this site please.

and while  I am at this.  show me one with an option for paypal with a 4% fee.  or a grand total of $2246.75 for 90 days of hosting and you own the machine.

While I am at it 45 day paypal protection and if you use a cc to fund the paypal 60  days protection or more.

Now 2246 usd may not make a profit after 90 days.  but you only have btc price risk to worry about.   If you have  a better deal  show it to us.

placed an order for  a total of six please remember to send the breakout board.

I will photo and test it on this thread.

Right now testing the two units   they seem to pulse power use I have to set up a different test.

having the 6 units hooked up to the breakout board should make for accurate testing.

breakout board sounds good.

I used this power supply at 5 volts and turned it up to  12 volts

I finally got them to run two hooked up to a seasonic.

 I will post power numbers.

These  pulse power  as low as 70 watts and as high as 80 watts.  the hash has been very stable

64gh up or down ugh ,

So quiet. So very quiet compared to the five chip gridseed .

Can you guys calm down a little? This is a group buy organisation. They have giving out mouths off refunds they have to put a line else the hole group buy can't exist. It might went a little amateur this is not the newegg or alternate around your corner so by happy that they still did any refunds.

Update:

Prospero X3

Control Board / Raspberry Pi

We decided to try to use 10 x Raspberry Pi per X3 as a quick fix to be used temporarily. Initial results are encouraging (hashing performed). The test board will arrive tomorrow. If this quick fix will prove satisfactory, we will consider shipping X3 Prospero (RPi) solution on temporary basis until the control board will perform as per original design.

X3 Backplane, X3 Hashboard PCB

1.The only problem that we have with X3 can be explained very simple: any hashboard (2 ASICs) will work (240Ghash) in any socket of the backplane but they will not work if we plug more than 2 hashboards in into the same backplane.

Investigations took us 2 weeks working 16-18 hours/day as we went through everything from debugging the power supply to debugging the cgminer code and reviewing the ASIC code.

We now strongly believe that the problem is due to noise on the 3.3V line which is currently shared between all hashboards. Unfortunately the 3.3V line is inside the backplane (layer 2) and inside the hashboard (layer 3) and we cannot separate them in order to get the current backplane working.

We have now almost finished a new design of the backplane which includes all the technical solutions solving the SPI noise and we aim to send it to PCB Factory on Monday. We already have the hashboards manufactured and if the new backplane works as expected we will be able to ship very soon.

2.One of our partners, which is specialised in ASIC manufacturing, has completed brand new versions of X3 Backplane and X3 Hashboard. They are currently running simulations and will send the PCB to manufacturing on Monday.

3.Three other companies have started to redesign other boards for us but their progress is not as advanced as our own. We will be taping out their design when ready and if it performs better we will use it in the next versions.

Notes

We received queries and suggestions regarding compensation packages. We will address the compensation issues as soon as we resume the shipping of the full spec Prospero X1 and Prospero X3 miners. We recognise the importance of this topic and our management team will address it accordingly.

Few months ago we announced that we have a surprise in store for our customers. We will disclose the full details as soon as we resume the shipping of the full spec Prospero X1 and Prospero X3 miners.

There are no Prospero miners X1 or X3 which are hashing on any of our facilities.

Source: http://minersource.net/blogs/news

We should already by hashing yes and will happen soon since they are working on a solution using raspberry pis are king since I also got 1 personaly. If we start hashing within 3 weeks you will make more then 100% profit when you got around 20 shares. They have given plenty off chances to step out. Now calm down. Its a investment. No investment is ever 100% sure thats how life is.

Who the hell do you think you are to be telling us to calm down? we ARE mad, and with very good reason. Every aspect of this group buy has been a f*ck up from communication, to integrity of DZ people to the competance of BA. Right now I just want my bitcoin back, and am not prepared to accept any more bullshit updates from BA about how 'soon' it will all be. They clearly cannot design sh*t!

how much are you out on this howard?  I am out 5 shares or 630 usd 4 shares at 130 each = 520 and 1 share at 110 usd total amount is 630.  I also lost about 150 usd on the 7 shares refunded  so maybe 780 and about 199 usd on round 1  so 979 grand total.

I would be bitterly complaining if it was all i had ever done with DZcoop  but I think I am 6k ahead maybe 7k ahead on rounds 5 6 9 10 11 12  plus the bailout on a dead ant miner s-1 lastly   a good deal on ant miner s-1 sticks.

Howard did any other deals with them work out or are you stuck on this with no other off sets.

If you are out 2k and had no winning deals being mad makes sense.   You are pissed at them and a little at yourself for not bailing right away.

I refunded 7 shares really fast got antminers with it.
I wish I got rid of the other 5  at the same  time. I hope they do some hashing .  fuck bfl returned  535 usd to me 13.5 months later pretty stunning.

I think with  just 2  pieces  inside the box it slide away from the crushing blow it got

I figured I would not use the include power cords but I needed them.

Dilema.....  order more of these,    or wait for the x-box....  ?
order more ofcourse! Smiley

you are probably right....  now i can put all those anker hubs from the old usb sticks back to use....

I am getting very good power numbers using a platinum psu a sea sonic 1200 watt high end beast  left over from gnu mining ltc.

about 64gh and 70 watts for 2 units.    that is about 32gh and 35 watts for one unit and they are really quiet.

My only complaint is the dc cords for grid seeds are too tight for this.

canary are you supplying bricks vs dc power cord do it yourself?

Lets get a support page for R-Box and RX-Box setup! Where are we on software support. Do they work with bfgminer?

I got mine up and running using cgminer from this link:

https://github.com/rockminerinc/cgminer-for-R-BOX/blob/master/cgminer-win0.3.1.zip

--icarus-options 115200:1:1 --anu-freq 270

I got my 2 r-boxes to run very nice gear looks like I will buy an x-box from canary or crazy guy.

I just can not buy 4  of these x-boxes . For summertime too hot.

Can you post a screenshot of when you receive the error? Try manually installing the driver inf that zadig creates.

OK...I seem to have it working

the instructions call for selecting "Install WCID driver" from the drop down

when I instead just select "Reinstall driver" it installs the "WinUSB (v6.1.7600.16385) driver and cgminer first starts with "no devices detected" but then starts hashing

Now if I can just get the Raspberry Pi to work as I really don't want to use the Windows PC to run these things long term

That's the problem, you need to just hit "Install Driver" or "Re-Install" driver. I've updated the guide.
It   Came today stuck here at the no devices detected point.

Windows? If so, no devices detected by Zadig or cgminer?

zadig did its job cgminer was not finding them works now.  not quite sure why.  but here is the good news using freq 270 I am getting about 65GH for 2 and watts bounce between 68 and 71 .

why am I getting such good watts. simple hi end psu and pcie adapters.  I have a sea sonic 1200 watt platinum  .

I have 4 grid seed blades two of these r-box units . a grid seed five chip unit and a dozen nano ice red fury sticks.

I am running your cgminer. for the 2  r-box

I am running  cpuminer for the grid seeds.

I am running bfg miner for the ice fury, nano fury, red fury sticks.

Quiet gear really quiet gear these r-box.

and 35 watts for 32 gh at freq 270 with a platinum psu

already my mind is saying these should have been 70GH units not 35 gh .
I heard an x box on you tube it is pretty loud.

have to say these are pretty nice.  boy would I like something bigger then this and smaller then the x-box.

I have a lot of photos.  I need to see if my power numbers are correct 32gh at 35 watts is good.

Oh one complaint the plug does not allow for grid seed power cords.    I find that annoying on rock miners part.    one piece of advice the bricks are not good compared to a real psu. so use a real psu.

and to rock miner you should have made the jacks match  grid seed gear.

working now and using a sea sonic 1200 watt platinum psu.  with some pcie adapters.

two of these with the high end psu use under 70 watts I am impressed.  also very quiet.

42879  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: A case study in entry-level mining on: June 07, 2014, 10:57:54 AM
i have read about cloud mining, i am really interested in it now. is that something you would try? looks like you don't have the hassle of building, maintaining, updating a miner, but you can just rent it from those who have comparative advantage: the cloud miners.
look, for example here's a review. https://cloudmining.guru/wp/category/reviews/
the review is even comparing and ranking the existing services.
what do you think?
or is it a dead end? what's the general view on cloud mining services?

They charge you more than you will ever make.
Think about it, why would they sell you a dollar for 75 cents?
You just absolutely perfectly summed up cloud mining.  +1

they sold me 737 usd  contract in June of 2013 . I have collected  about 400  usd contract ends this July. I will collect about 20 usd more.  My loss will be about 300 usd.

As to making  a profit at this the op made some poor choices.  It happens.  As you can see I made a poor choice with cloudhasher.

To all new miners I suggest buying 2 miners cost of .2btc from this seller. maybe you need a hub and 2 power bricks so lets say .25btc  or 150-160 usd

 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=629006.0

I also suggest taking .25btc and leaving it untouched in a second  btc wallet.   so you spend .5 btc total or 325 usd.

Then mine 1 of the 2 miners at an easy pool like bitminter.com

and learn to solo mine with the second miner.

Leaving the matching .25btc untouched.

visit your totals in a month and see what you have.  do this once a month for six months. see what you have.
