4301  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 08, 2018, 11:38:16 AM
A thought experiment

........ It rallies to $5350

Then it drops , and smashes through all support to $1150

Then the unthinkable happens... and it drops again

to $530.....

Markets are haywire, trading platforms freezing up, going off line, metric sites are spewing out jibberish

On Finex it flashcrashes to $75

Coinbase flashcrashes to $50 and goes offline

The price rises to $750 and stabilises for 6 hours

It drops to $350 and becomes stable for a day........... What are you guys doing at this point and up to this point? what is your next move? are you rekt? are you happy, are you trading hand over fist? are you drinking? are you jumping out of a window?

(Bonus question- Bitcoin SV OR Bcash or Ripple or Doge or  ETH or some other shitcoin is simultaneously going parabolic and either Craig or Rog or Vitalik are on youtube shit talking about how they are now number one, what are you doing? did you FOMO SV or Bcash, Doge or ETH or rando shitcoin? or no because rekt, rage quit, drunk etc) (EDIT for arguments sake lets say that the coin that has gone parabolic has already hit $5000)

Sorry I know its sordid and dark.... but I am curious to your answers  Cheesy  especially if they are amusing

I just hodl. I wouldn't buy anything else, regardless if it was number one. If BTC goes below 1000, crypto is done anyway, I would just forget about it and live my life.

 I second that.
Also, I guess I might begin accepting the overtime hours offered where I work again.  On second thought, I wouldn't work extra hours (I've spoiled myself - I said sPoiled!), I'd just go back to drinking Eight o'clock or Chock full o’ Nuts coffee again and riding a bicycle (or skis depending on the season).

4302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please PPL - Show Me One Promise that BTC Fullfilled? Lies&Bullshit is BTC on: December 08, 2018, 02:22:30 AM
Private? Nada

Secure? Nada

Fast free transmision of money? NOT, try $24 fee, for $4 coffee

Anonymous? NOT

Safe? Hell No, exchanges have stlolen billions of real cash

51% p2p good people ? Hell, no BITMAIN owns +90% of the mining hw used on earth

Honest? Hell no the collapse of the recent crypto parabolic-rise has evaporated almost $1 Trillion USD of real wealth

...

In summary there is NOT one thing, one promise that bitcoin PROMISED that has been made good, it turns out that every reason for using bitcoin was a LIE, even the founders like "Craig Wright", are saying "Only child molesters, need be anonymous", hell this guy say's he was a Libertarian, and sees the "Satoshi Vision", but now he quacks like a TSA duck, and of course NO ACCIDENT that all algo's in BTC are NSA by choice.

Everything about BTC was a LIE, and now even the whales and FOUNDERS are admitting that all the promises were always bullshit.

You know what's bullshit?  A FOUR dollar cup of coffee!

Ok, setting up a few more buy orders. I am a degenerate no doubt.

Not that this amounts are gonna ruin me more than I am already.

If banging your head against the wall doesn't work... you need to hit harder!

You are not alone, at this rate I will not have money for Christmas, without food, without drinks, without gifts, but with Bitcoin in my pocket.

I have to tell you something important for me:

Allow me to inform you that I am doing everything possible to join Wall Observer as a full member and get one of your beautiful hats.

When the time comes, I would be very happy if you designed me one with cat Maine Coon

The Maine Coon

Sure.  I'd love to make you one but you need 100 merit in order to wearittm Smiley

I’m almost there, the merits will be harder than the activity at this point I think, but I’ll be able to wear the hat you made me before Christmas hopefully  Grin

Merry Christmas Smiley

 You are awesome Wink

You lose smaller on bear market than in bull.

(snip)

Don't give up on your coin so easily.

Say you had a finite amount of fiat to invest; make it US$30k -
You spend US$30k to get ten US$3k Bitcoin which subsequently drop in value to US$2k Bitcoin - you would be hodling Bitcoin worth US$20k of your initial US$30k investment.
OR you spend US$30k to get two US$15k Bitcoin which subsequently devalue to US$10k Bitcoin - you would be hodling Bitcoin worth US$20k of your initial US$30k investment.

Are you saying you "lose smaller" psychologically or am I so burned out from working night shifts that I am unable to comprehend a bigger picture here?  I can't see the difference.
No difference if you account in fiat. The accounting unit makes the difference. Lucid Homer should know better. Capitulating, are we?  Tongue

Never.  Staying on this ride and lining up to buy moar cheap tickets.
4307  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 07, 2018, 01:40:21 PM
The market is very strange. Whenever there is a seller there will be one buyer, and they both think they are smart. Wink

I disagree for at least for the retail investors: selling at this stage is mainly lead by fear, while the ones now buying are the crazy ones believing in Bitcoin's value. It takes way more balls and conviction buying in this relentless bear market.

You lose smaller on bear market than in bull.

Lets say I got my coins at 3k then bear market continuous and dropped to 2k, I lose only 1k per coin, that is if I got tired of hodling. Unlike in bull market, when you fomo'ed and got your coins at 15k then market corrected to 10k, you lose 5k a piece. Market now is so repressed that hammering it to lower price takes a lot more. Don't think any holder would sell at loss unless you want to buy more down below like whales do.

I'd be happy to take more coins at lower price. Its not balls at all. Don't think no one is buying at bear market, they are. I am.

Don't give up on your coin so easily.

I actually began working on a hat for m0gliE yesterday but I got waylaid by a night shift.  Trying to pick up where I left off but eyes closing, head nodding... need... sleep

Wahou?  Shocked

Well I'm pretty impatient now! Take your time though!
I'm honestly genuily excited about the incoming hat, feels like being part of a community  Shocked

I weighed many options before settling on this particular design.  As usual, it comes with my money-back guarantee.

With massive losses, Bitmain has no resources to support BCH. Illiquid BCH falls further hitting Bitmain balance sheet. Suppliers cut off credit lines & buyers wary to purchase equipment. IPO Canceled. Only solution - significant down round and VCs take over? Interesting to see!

I hat hate to say it but it seems Roger Ver was right after all; babies are dying!  Well, at least Jihan Wu's and Micree Zhan's baby.  I wonder what the reincarnation of Bitmain will be called...

edit: I meant to type hate. Damn!  I have to lay off the hats for a while.

4313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Main] Bitcore- BTX - Partnership with JAXX and ZelCore! on: December 05, 2018, 03:28:27 AM
The worse aspect of this fact that ASICs now mine BTX is that from now on BTX is at a very high risk to suffer from a 51% attack. And in middle or long term this will more likely happen. Is the team urgently addressing this crucial issue?

see this post above : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1883902.msg48378144#msg48378144 .  from it I know they are "aware" of the situation; as to whether they are urgently addressing it I can't say, but they have not disappeared.
It is unfortunate, but if I see BTX is a coin with quite a lot of demand, but instead has the highest level of risk. how the team faced this issue? whether they have been preparing to deal with this situation?

the question is when all those coins drop when deposits re-open , price will tank hard methinks .

what's say you all ? I NEVER thought we could tank like this .

Vlad was right . I eat my hat .

This was the only Bitcoin fork I actually hodled.  Still have it.

Am I the only bastard who's drinking bob's beer? All you guys refuse his free beer offer. Are you guys trying to make me feel bad? Should I feel bad? :p

I prefer to drink alone and really didnt want a beer... just wanted to meet Bob.

Perhaps you are opting for the blow job?  instead of the beer?   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

No, I wasn't interested in the blowjob either.  Maybe a coffee.  I don't like large gatherings - they make me uncomfortable - but I'm otherwise quite sociable and friendly.

What happened to the idea of doing it in Las Vegas? Sad

After further consideration, throwing the $100K party in Las Vegas would be much easier to plan.

It would need to be a Masquerade Ball sorta deal to have any chance of maintaining a semblance of anonymity while interacting with your fellow WO'ers in bonafide meatspace.

Great! Smiley

Yeah, Las Vegas is already properly setup for whatever party we could decide to throw... that includes the security part. One less worry.

I don't think I have much to worry about my personal opsec, but yeah that masquerade idea could be a thing.

It would also perfectly blend with the place I would suggest: The Vodoo Lounge Rooftop at the Rio. Damn I love that place and their signature cocktail the Witch Doctor. Maybe we could hire the terrace just for our moon party?

Oh, about the beer, thanks for the kind offer and good for being a man of word (even when there was no REAL promise or anything) but, if anything, I prefer to reserve it for the $100K party, or drink one for me, whatever. Smiley

Las Vegas would be perfect for my team.... oppps I mean perfect for a party...

I've been having trouble coming up with a hat idea for you buy I feel one coming in range now Wink

Edit: but not buy... Dan phone!
