4301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin illiteracy due to online exchanges on: October 04, 2020, 07:40:12 AM
they just made that to get even more traffic from all kinds of visitors otherwise they don't care about teaching people and their traders don't care about learning either. majority of traders, specially when it comes to altcoin pump and dumps only care about making more money (and that's fiat). that's why we always see many of them don't even know you can store cryptocurrencies in desktop wallets, they think the only option is the wallet their exchange gives them!
Yea, I agree with you, their academy driving traffic to their exchanges. We can say it's an advertising policy, but there is something, something is better than nothing. I will be honest as you said, before joining on this forum at the beginning of bitcoin use, I thought only exchange and web wallets like coinbase are bitcoin wallets and that's how we have to use (receive & send) bitcoin. When joined on this forum then I have been learning about wallets and bitcoin technology. When I realized the importance of using a secure Bitcoin wallet then I have bought a Ledger x. Means, we should have a few potential sources to learn about bitcoin and related stuff.

Anyway, if exchanges give some technical information about how should secure their bitcoin and how should use as a payment method then slowly we may learn more. But I have doubts if all the exchange team knows about bitcoin technology better rather than only maintaining the exchange.
4302  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is this right way to fill weekly quota for signature campaign? on: October 04, 2020, 07:16:24 AM
~Snip~
Thanks for your opinion, hope more users/campaign participants will be aware of theses kind posting behavior.

I think its time to add a new rule to the signature campaigns, like when someone wants to add an article or any other news content should be included inside tags
Nah, it doesn't necessarily add such as new rules. There are already rules "spam post has not been counting by any managers" especially on bitcoin campaign. The post would be low quality and sometimes manager considers counting. But fully copy-pasted without own thoughts is pure spam. Even you are posting it on press section should not badly be copy-pasted. Either you should post only a link or post in between quotes.

Besides, these posts should be reported. Hopefully, if mods would see more users reporting such posts, they won't leave them unhandled anymore.
Wrong, if someone isn't breaking forum rules somehow then moderators will not take any action. It doesn't matter if a thousand user reports against him, still report will be unhandled.
4303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin illiteracy due to online exchanges on: October 04, 2020, 06:33:54 AM
To be honest, the exchange does not care to teach their users about Bitcoin technology. They just need earning from trading. Only the Binance academy has a few technical information about bitcoin and cryptocurrency where their traders would learn from there. The main problem is, bitcoin is an easy method to send & receive money worldwide, but it doesn't too easy to cash out. Its because most countries still do not allow to use bitcoin and don't know the value of bitcoin as well. It would be better if all the exchanges provide basic information about bitcoin and cryptocurrency to their users. So users would learn if they need it.

4305  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Possible Scam] BitCashPay- Plagiarized White Paper on: October 03, 2020, 08:40:55 PM
Noticed Bitcashpay from bounty hunters Facebook campaign. There was someone on my friend list who is promoting that platform. Then I take a quick look on it, I found their monthly reward for staking token. Paying 7% monthly and locking funds for at a certain period. I had been assuming that is a Ponzi scheme and use a quick search on the forum to look if there is an existing thread on the forum. Eventually found this post. I believe plagiarism is enough to tag them and there is a hidden Ponzi scheme as well. I wouldn't trust them with a penny.

Support flag and tagged as well.
4306  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is this right way to fill weekly quota for signature campaign? on: October 03, 2020, 07:42:37 PM
Send a PM to the campaign manger and tell him about it. If the Campaign manager is OK with his posts and the mods don't delete them, then it means it is the right way. Our opinion is not really important.
Yea sent a PM to Yahoo62278. Hope he will take a look at this post and leave his valuable opinion. I have created this thread for open discussion. The post isn't just to a certain user, other users would be aware of the discussion as well. So of course our opinion is quite important at least for the learning purpose. Doesn't matter if the manager pays them, it depends on them. But this behavior is really bad in my opinion.

I'm lazy.  Who's the Bitsler campaign manager?
Your answer is above, but I am not blaming the manager. Because I have mentioned on the OP that it's not easy to spot such as copy-paste from each user and for each post.

Hydrogen does the same thing in the Chipmixer campaign, except he always adds some of his own thoughts.
No matter if someone adds a quote with his own thoughts, it's totally acceptable IMO. But bitcoinst nothing adding from his own and almost 50% post making this way.
4307  Economy / Reputation / 'bitcoinst' abusing signature campaign with alt account & spamming by copy-paste on: October 03, 2020, 07:02:28 PM
User bitcoinst has drawn my attention today, he has been making copy past post from some other sources directly. Since he is adding the link of the source, so I can't call it plagiarism. But my question is this the right way to copy-paste? Just visit his last 20 posts and he made 10 posts by copy-paste from other sources. Simply added the link below post even didn't add the word "source".

Surely, it's quite easy to fill weekly quota for the signature campaign by copy past since it will take two minutes to make a long post. It doesn't matter if the manager allows him to do it, but if all users follow his way then the forum will fill with the spam. It's quite surprising that even hadn't deleted advertise of sources which hasn't related to the topic.

If you visit his post history then you will notice that he has been posting this stuff for a long time. It's quite complicated for managers to make sure the every each post isn't plagiarized or badly copy-pasted. This means he is cheating campaign managers as well IMO.

I am really not posting to punish him, but as a hero member, he should avoid such behavior and should contribute to the forum as much he can. I am posting it publicly rather than send him a PM because more users will learn and could avoid such behavior. Sometimes making such as post is fine, but making more than 50% such as post really just spams to fill the weekly quota.

Edited special note: Account connected bitcoinst, spike420211 & TrevorS. Cheating on the signature campaign.

4308  Economy / Exchanges / Re: KuCoin Has Found The Hackers Who Stole $281 Million on: October 03, 2020, 06:15:40 PM
Archived your thread. Can you explain briefly about below quote?

Download The Decrypt App.
Get our app for the top news and features at your fingertips. Be the first to try the Decrypt Token and much more.
What doesn't mean Decrypt token and decrypt apps? Please explain to us how it's related to the KuCoin hacking issue? I am expecting an answer from you.

No doubts it's good news that KuCoin has found the hacker and going to take action against him/her. Directly copy-paste from a website and just post with a link is very bad behavior. You are just filling your weekly quota in a shortcut.
4309  Other / Meta / Re: Do we need / does anyone want a what happened to member "X" thread? on: October 03, 2020, 10:47:09 AM
I don't think any specific thread need for that. Sometimes we become quite curious about a few members when they become offline for a long time. A good idea is you may create a certain thread on reputation (noticed a few numbers such thread have been created previously) and ask about a member. If someone knows any information then they could leave it there. I am quite curious about a few numbers of user those have become inactive lately. We are a Bitcoin family and I wouldn't mind if someone shares about me if in case happen any accidents. Yea, a few users know me personally here. So I can say if something happens to me then obviously the community will know it.
4310  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] ROUNDER CASINO Signature Campaign | Hero/Legendary- $25/week. on: October 03, 2020, 08:09:21 AM
Payments have been sent for the 6th week to qualified participants.

2x Hero/Legendary spot open.
4311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoins sent, but no receipt at destination on: October 02, 2020, 08:15:22 PM
It seems your transaction already got 2,811 confirmation. Most exchanges just require 6 confirmations to add balance in the account. Means, where have you sent, the funds should be credited to your account if it's on a website. If sent to the person then the fund has been credited his account as well and he had spent as well.

Most likely someone scammed you or you have sent funds into a scam website. Can you please share more details where you had sent the funds? ( of course, if you don't have privacy issues). So we may be aware of the scam if really he scammed you.
4312  Economy / Services / Re: Best signature campaign Managers on: October 02, 2020, 07:41:20 PM
I can recall that we have talked about your campaign previously (just confirmed from PM). It seems I had given you the related information about your campaign management. Everyone is best from the given list above, you can feel free to choose any reputed & experienced manager accordingly from there.

Anyway, just leaving my portfolio is in case if you want to take a look: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5201844.0

Best of luck with your platform.
4313  Economy / Reputation / Re: HYIP in Russian board on: October 02, 2020, 01:47:44 PM
If there is a certain board means users will make their HYIP post only there. I don't know the history of why the admin has created that board. Since scam isn't moderated by the forum so it's quite better all Ponzi scheme on a single board. So that all users will be well aware of the risk of investment. But you are always welcome to create a Scam Accusation post and create flags. So DT members would tag them and support the flag as well. We can't do with the entire board, I know many Ponzi lovers want to take the risk to become quick rich.

I have noticed that many users open scam accusations with very clear evidence, but still not leaving neg tag or create a flag. whether they are afraid of some revenge or what?
Most likely they don't have proper knowledge of how to work trust system or they are thinking only DT member should tag since it will reflect on the forum. But they should leave their own feedback as well either they are on the DT network or not.
4314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mediocre/People. on: October 02, 2020, 09:33:21 AM
I you are wondering to convince 100% world's population to use Bitcoin then you are wrong. It isn't possible anyway. There is a lot of peoples who hadn't used the internet ever even they have facilities. So, how you will convince them? Those peoples know about Bitcoin but not involved with it, simply means they aren't well aware of Bitcoin technology. It's just not a currency like other currencies. It is a decentralized financial system and you are your own bank. It's quite important to explain how it works. Most people are worried about volatility IMO. So it would be quite difficult to convince them, I had tried for a few colleagues but they don't like due to volatility. Even they don't encourage us to learn about bitcoin technology. So there will be a few mediocre people always like this.
4315  Other / Meta / Re: Don't send PMs begging for merits. on: October 01, 2020, 04:11:48 PM
The problem isn't just merit begging, peoples are just looking for quick merit earning methods, to be honest. I can't recall exactly who but I had received a couple of merits begging PM, perhaps I made a post about that as well. But lately, I am not receiving such as merit begging PM. I have helped a couple of users to rank up by reporting LoyceV thread Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source. I feel good when I can help someone, so whenever I noticed any user that is near rank up then I try to help him/her. More merits sources are helping as well, really I appreciate them. But begging via PM isn't acceptable.

I'd like to see an additional rank for those very high merited users. Some other perks would be nice.
Second that, there should be something for high merits earner, at least for the appreciation.
4316  Other / Meta / Re: Against forum rules or not - Zigzagsports on: October 01, 2020, 03:50:36 PM
Yes, and I reported him to moderators first Smiley and then posted here, in case moderators delete or move his topic to trash.
Topic is still there and my report is Unhandled so far.
It seems the topic has been trashed and my report has marked 'good'. I hadn't mentioned about acceptance of Bitcoin as well. You had reported first, supposed to mark good your report.

Anyway, I think something wrong with your comment, but it doesn't matter. We should write as much as detail on the report comment. So moderators would realize the case quickly and handle it as well.

4317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Nigerians buy bitcoin on loss? on: October 01, 2020, 02:29:32 PM
Well, CryptopreneurBrainboss has explained about Nigeria, and definitely, explanations are reasonable enough. If you use Google price or you Local USD/Fiat price then you will think more country's resellers buying Bitcoin at loss. But reality no one losing if it's not for volatility. I will express my today's experience, so you will get how these reselling businesses going on.

For privacy reasons, just imagine my local currency (fiat) name is "XYZ". Usually, 1USD = 74 XYZ in my country. But I sold my $100 (BTC) for 7900 XYZ. You may think the reseller bought in 500 XYZ loss. But the reality is different, someone on the other end had been waiting to buy it for a higher price. Its because our banks and governments don't accept bitcoin. So there is no other way to trade bitcoin except peer 2 peer trading. Even it was accepted by the government and banks but there will be a high transaction fee and tax, so peoples will like to trade peer 2 peer. That's how the price goes up locally.
4318  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Transaction is confirmed but need Electrum to confirm transaction? on: October 01, 2020, 07:34:41 AM
Seems OP disappeared after made this thread. I am assuming there are two possibilities as below;

1. If the third party is trusted then they are trying to confirm the address is under your control means probably you need to sign a message. If so then you may sign messages to proof of ownership. But this chance is just 0.5% (according to your main post).

2. Most likely you got a scam and scammers have been trying to scam you once again by hacking your wallet. Eventually, they might ask your seed or private keys. I think you sent the fund into a scam site either it would a Ponzi or something similar. It would be better if you can share the website with us (please use a link between codes, so no one will click on it directly). This possibility is 99.5%.

Just to notify you, there is not necessarily provide any details from your wallet to the third party to prove or confirm your transaction. Only you may share transaction id and sign message if necessary. Just ask here before you send something to the scammer.
4319  Other / Meta / Re: Against forum rules or not - Zigzagsports on: October 01, 2020, 07:06:31 AM
This would solve simply by a report to moderators since they are promoting referral links on the forum. Either they accept bitcoin or not but no one is allowed to advertise referral link via post. I have reported the post for advertising referral code with a short link, hope moderators will handle it as soon as they notice my report.
4320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Question on public keys on: September 30, 2020, 06:35:24 PM
If an attacker knows your master public key and any single private key, they can bruteforce all your private keys.
I am quite curious about that part. To brute force my all private keys an attacker should have both key master public key + a private key? Or if he gains access one of them then you could bruit-force all of my private keys.

For example, I have a wallet and there are 50 addresses and private keys. If an attacker knows one of my private keys there is any chance that he could bruit force my other private keys? Although I believe it's not possible, but curious to know more briefly.

Although its noob question but need to learn.
