I've already ROI'd my S1s. Everything from this point is profit until the cost of electricity is more than the BTC value. But it is also a hobby and I believe in BTC. I have friends that spend $400 a month on golf. Nobody ask them about their ROI.

+1 lol

I have ordered 3 S3+ but not paid yet.
I don't really know what to do now, delivery date is 20th sept (or sooner)
Should i wait for next generation S4?
At this point in time it would be more appropriate to wait until like Sep 7th to see where the price is at. Ordering now at this early stage is just throwing away BTC.

This is what i tought too

Deeply thx MoreBloodWine, I have been reading your posts on BA pages too Smiley

I really don't know where some of you came up with the X1 was supposed to be "chainable"... I have never read anywhere (other than speculation by non-BA folks) that they could be strung together.  That doesn't even make sense.  The X1 was never intended to be part of a mining farm.  It's design is based on the notion that you could place one anywhere in your home (actual living space, not a garage, shed, bedroom-turned-datacenter) and let it quietly and coolly generate bitcoin for you.  BA originally described the X1 as a small machine you could place on your computer desk, on your desk at work, under the TV in your living room or on the counter in a kitchen etc.  ... They even made some comment like "The X1 may even generate enough bitcoin to pay for electricity for the entire home"... or something of the sorts.  Obviously, now that is quite a stretch and to make any kind of real money you would indeed need a small farm of X1s, but that is NOT what they were designed for.

I'm 95% sure about the possibility to chain X-1s to each other, as i'm not a native english spoken i have learned the word "chainable" from the X-1 product page at BA website, in november 2013, 95% sure Smiley
And yes I does make sense, very usefull.

Prospero - China trip update, Stuart from Logic Ethos Ltd

"Hello,

I made it to Black Arrows offices.  Heathrow, Moscow, Hong Kong and crossed the Chinese border on foot.

I have meet BA's management several times before, but this is the first time I have seen the place where it all happens.

The offices are full of people. A buzz of activity, from not only their own engineers, but those of their suppliers too, trying to resolve a problem with the SPI bus.  They showed me what’s happening.
A single 2 chip board works fine.  Add more chips, and the SPI bus fails. This effects X3 & datacenter hashing.

I spoke to BA's management last night.  They said they will make good with compensation, but they are so busy trying to fix the problems at the moment to speculate exactly what that will be.

More details here http://www.blackarro...2-may-2014.html

I'm going to stick around for a bit, at least for as long as my visa lasts, and see what happens. So if there is any news, I will post it.

Stuart"

How much (approx) will power supplies be? Will we get the extra miners at the same time as our Batch 1 orders? Will Minersource have BA power supplies for sale? Thanks.

4317  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MTGOX cash deposit February 2014 on: February 25, 2014, 03:28:09 AM
Hello,
deposit on Friday feb. 14th = Credited on the 20th, BTC at 105€
a second deposit on Tuesday 18th = Still waiting (early 25th)...

Looks like it's longer to get credited, which is about to be normal.
To face cheap BTC whitout possibility to buy it's hurtfull, but got to wait.
also everyday BTC is very very cheap and goes up again... It looks like a regular dance.

"Dear Valued Customer,
"Sorry for the delay in response. In order to proceed further, please provide the scan copy of your wire deposit."

"Thank you for your email. We will check with the banking team and let you know as soon as possible."

"Thank you for your email. We will keep you posted once we locate your deposit."

No way to talk to them. They robots, Droïdes. Must wait and stay calm, very very cheap BTC.

I dream to get few at 300€, I was upset missing at 250€.. I got credited BTC went down to around 100€ Smiley
So far I have seen 2 days big bottom down at 76€ and 80€ without no cash, this is awfull lol

4318  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [850 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: February 19, 2014, 10:25:18 PM
When I see "Stratum from pool 0 detected new block" in my bfgminer does this mean that the pool has found
a new block with 25 bitcoins or just a block with potentially 25 bitcoins in it? The current block number mentioned
in bfminer is that the number of the new found block?

If so I don't see all the new blocks found by bfgminer appearing in my stats. Why? Because I'm not working on all
the new found blocks.

It means a block found on the network - not necessary from your 'Pool 0' and definitely not from you.

Each block is at least 25 BTC, it could be more if it contains transactions with fees, but not less.
The current block number is the next block actualy, 'the new found block' is the previous one ... you can check this page which pool have found it and if it is your 'Pool 0' only then it should show in stats page

Thx you both KNK and Ehoitinga Smiley

"Stratum from pool 0 detected new block" = The network, all the pools + solo miners have found a new block (25 BTC+fees)

"not necessary from your 'Pool 0' and definitely not from you."
-Pool 0" I thougth it was only Slush's pool.
-"and definitely not from you." well i guessed that Smiley At what speed is it clever to mine solo?
Did this ever happened to you : ""Found block for pool" - that is when it means YOU found it."
Must be happy that day Smiley

"Stratum from pool 0 requested work update" i see that very often, what is it please?

May I ask you another question please.
At this pace of growing difficulty (+20% every 12 days seems to be exponential) so soon no one will ever mine, so how Bitcoin network will keep on.

Last one lol : Why Slush's Pool has got this very good reputation, are they located in France, got a clue in which city?

Deeply thx for your answears Smiley

Bonjour à tous Smiley
Hello to all Smiley

Grand merci Smiley
