It appears that the flat-earther's figures are based on sun elevation data at just two particular latitudes, perhaps even Eratosthenes' values. flat earthers may have picked these out of some book, and when the calculation was finished, they looked no further. For if they had done the calculation with a variety of latitudes, including large latitude differences, conflicting results would have been obtained.
For two towns having latitudes within about 30° of each other, reasonably consistent results are obtained. But when larger baselines are used, the triangulation would give a much smaller distance to the sun. For a 70° latitude difference the distance to the sun comes out less than half that for a 10° difference.
How about airplanes and earth satellites in orbit around a flat earth. And what about airliners going around the earth? What about earth satellites? They are merely traveling in loop orbits. What makes them do this? Flat-earthers do not say. Flat-earthers shun any form of gravitational force. They consider gravity to be a mystical or occult idea. Things fall, they say, simply because they are heavyno other explanation is needed. What about the moon flights and the pictures from space showing a round planet. It's must all be a hoax, an elaborate movie production.

This HAS to be MORE than just cognitive dissonance. It must be a satanic spell. No other explanation makes any sense. I've never felt so alone in my whole life. I pray every day that God will allow someone I know see the truth, as he let me see it. But so far that hasn't happened.
I won't give up though. God woke me up so I would teach the truth to others. God bless anyone who's reading this comment and who still believes that the earth is a globe. God can work miracles. Just a few years ago, I didn't believe in the Bible and I believed that the earth was a ball.

I've been trying to develop some kind of model for the celestial objects:
The Sun and Moon appear to be flat disks; doped diamond lenses that step down radiation from the dome and project it as light. The image you see on the Moon's surface is probably the surface of the dome, hence its concave appearance.

Is the train really moving or is there a subroutine in your programmed existence scrolling images outside the window accompanied with train noises and Disneyland-like ride motions? What about landing on a merry-go-round inside a train, could the fly still do it? I think your question is perhaps, a bit off-topic. I'll say I've found an off-shoot of virtual reality called mirror world. Now I know flat earth is massive rabbit hole but this rabbit hole has rabbit holes with rabbit holes. It's possible they may have turned the entire planet into Star Trek like holo-deck, only the projected objects don't go away after they're projected.  On a clear day you can see Mount Rainier from Canada, but because of the earth's curvature, you can only see the tip. Started to see threads and stories like this pop up everywhere.
This is how they divide people - they throw up stories like this that are clearly bullshit or wrong (obviously curvature is not why the mountain is obscured, nor is it why Chicago is obscured) and they bash "Flat Earthers" and just overwhelm the post with scienstism from scientismists.

Can we question monotheism here? I'm not saying there isn't one dude in charge but there was a time not long ago that we had gods who were giants. They're too big (as tall as mt. Everest) to walk around in the atmosphere but I'm sure they could stick their heads out of the water (air to them at their scale) for a few words. It would reason that they built the dome and created carbon based miniature air breathing versions of themselves (the gods being silicon based).
There use to be a party going on in the heavens, so what happened? I tend to blame fascism and some kind of nefarious satanic conspiracy (not just one devil, but many) but perhaps there's another answer?

How as an individual can I know if the Earth is a sphere or a flat disc? What experiment can I do that doesn't involve trusting information from a 3rd party that would prove what the geometry really is?  The earth as flat earth and spherical earth were already some of the concepts that are used to identify the real shape of earth. I believe earth is not flat how could it be flat? Flat Earth theory as faulty with anomalies, and incorrect. As you mentioned with the 'hallway' things get smaller with distance. With Flat Earth theory the Sun (and Moon) should get smaller and smaller till it vanishes in the distance. The Sun doesn't; it disappears below the horizon at the same size it was when directly overhead. That's only possible with a spherical Earth. And, if the Moon and "Sun were the same size the Moon would appear much larger than the Sun during a solar eclipse and would block out the solar corona; that doesn't happen because the Sun is tremendously larger than the Moon and tremendously farther from Earth than the moon and only appears the same size due to perspective. Try to objectively analyze real data and concrete scientific and mathematical evidence for a spherical Earth at some point and you might learn something.
That's straight bullshit, sometimes it's much larger at sunset than when it's overhead. The atmosphere magnifies the Sun and Moon near the horizon. Also perspective proves the earth is flat, you can see the Sun shrinking before disappearing past the vanishing point if you're at a high enough altitude to minimize atmospheric distortion and significantly increase the distance to the horizon. |

Who is willing to consider that giants might be real? I don't just mean large people but another form of life (silicon) on a larger scale; a man as tall as mountain for example.
On this larger scale water might behave more like air and the properties of matter would be much different. Yet looking at fractals one could suppose that many things would be the same. In fact art, culture, sciences and even some technology could be scaled down to our size.

It was in fact a solar eclipse not a lunar eclipse that just occurred, I was mistaken.  edit: The solar eclipse actually occurs on Aug 21, 2017. I'm not having a good day.  This means that, on that day, but the next year, it may happen that the irreparable? Fuck I got the dates mixed up and went on a photo/video bender on the Sun and Moon with no eclipse.
