My rigs seems to be slower by only 0.5%
with sia and eth, bout the same here, definitely less than 1%.. 0.5% or so is probably closer but Im hitting the margin of error on figures this low. r9 390, win7 x64 pro on 16.2.1 drivers.

oooooh, look at all those cutouts for outlets.. how many mining rigs will you be able to run in the new kitchen?
|
|
|
every new rig
psu = so all psu ,companies, seasonic ,corsair, rosewill, thermaltake, silverstone, evga cpu = intel + amd, gpu = nvidia + amd hdd/ssd = drive builders Seagate western digital samsung sandisk ram = ram builders micron samsung hynix
so all of the above make money if eth coin sticks around. and that list is incomplete.
I see an eth coin price rally coming.
do you think gpu mining has that much of an impact in the bigger custom build pc game? what percentage of newly built rigs with new parts are for miners do you think? cards are always replaced of course but the rest of the rig? myself, i just reused an old core 2 rig from my btc gpu days for 2 cards, plus stuck one card in my daily driver to take advantage of games and the fact its on 24/7 anyway. but of course im just a "hobby" miner in it for fun, not like you and others having, well, even more fun

I like the analyse, but I believe some of the pre s-7 going to hash no matter what. When someone is not profitable, he sells the rig. But the buyer should be profitable, probably with free electricity.
So there will be always very old rigs hashing by those with free electricity. So maybe half of the very old rigs could continue hashing and the second half be inactive on sell market waiting for someone with free electricity to be bought. Just my guess.
at some point, even with free electricity, just the cost of mailing something as heavy as an old miner is too much. wont even make the cost of postage back. dunno what generation of gear fits that criteria though.

some people have very good power prices. they can afford to mine till very low eth prices. and since amd and nvidia are now both on 14/16 nm its not like the new rx4x0 and 10x0 series cards will be obsolete anytime soon.
after all you can still switch to another coin or sell the cards later. makes the risk much smaller than a one currency asic type of investment.

went through the 1st halving. aside from a blitz of transactions so people could have a chance to get their transaction in the 1st 25 btc block nothing much happened.
gonna have a bbq here. cheeseburgers! yum!

?
i mine eth. mainly to offset the cost of the videocards that are going into my next builds.
anyone who mines accepts the fact that the coin they are mining could faceplant tomorrow. its part of the mining game.
|
|
|
ill keep mining them and selling them as long as its profitable. ill hang on to some just for the lulz though.
gotta subsidize my video cards ya know..

That I can't post it, doesn't mean it is not there. It is there despite the fact that I am not sure which page it is on. Everyone can see your private key, and mine, and all the others. The system is not secure.
you really do not understand how bitcoin works do you?

Yep. Rarely a dull moment here on Garza Watch*!
Nice work, @Maildir & @suchmoon
*Carlos Rodolpho kept us amused recently by getting taken into custody, "scared & frightened," (we hope.)
i gotta read this thread from post 1 again someday. wonder how long it would take.. this forum must never go away. or at least till there is a full archive of this thread elsewhere.

gotta admit, even as one who holds some eth and dao tokens, the entertainment value of watching this guy toss daos around like popcorn is worth losing it all of course when "investing" in any crypto i kiss it goodby. if it works great. if it goes down in flames one can only hope its as fun watching it crash and burn as this one is.

i never had any gaw stuff. i actually could not believe people went for that stuff (i did check it out).
BUT i live a 45 minutes from longmeadow where that house was. if i had that address back in the day i would of cruised by there on the way home from work just to beep my horn on the way by.
so much drama in crypto.. anyone with 1/10 of a brain can keep out of trouble fairly easily and look, people are adults. but you just cant do what he did and be allowed to get away with it.
btw this thread is one of my all times faves here.

Cryptopia...who are they..lol i just checked them out now..looks like crapsty to me...trumpcoin is up 3900% there, dump eth for trump....lol Cryptopia has earned respect in the community for doing what is the correct thing to do without looking left and right. I think they will gain more support in the future. im opening an account there today. found me a new exchange. i have eth and dao tokens. i always kiss goodby any crypto "investments" so im just watching all this for lulz now

I just put exception for the entire C drive in Defender settings, as I don't want Defender to mess with anything at all. It will fix your issue.
i just add the claymore folder and the remote manager folder in that folder just to be sure.

I'm glad that you sent me reminder, that's a nice attention from you ! +6,9 = Cashew I'm not very used to guess the difficulty change, but maybe this time I'll be lucky ... hey! glad to see you here! this contest is totally phils and its his BTC that he sends. no one elses. he rules this thread and contest. btw +/- nn.n =[your bitcointalk username] is proper format, that way phil can just cutnpaste stuff here. we try to make it as easy as possible to for him.

+5.5 = vapourminer I changed you to 5.6 as 5.5 was taken
Note I made 3 changes:
leowonderful 2.7 not 2.74 this change is proper format and gives him his pick and more Amph 5.1 not 5.0 too late so I assigned the closest number vapourminer 5.6 not 5.5 too late so I assigned the closest number
Those three numbers are there to stay as I had a few people try to be tricky a while back.
hey i just appreciate the chance to play the game. i was in a hurry this morning (that dang real life thing) and posted too quick. you could of changed it to anything you want and get no complaint from me

my pick is my usual 5.5% please vapourminer=5.5% sell 20% of your coin now!
hodl the rest [...] Taking profits on btc is very difficult. The method above or something like it allows for you to be partly correct no matter what happens.
It makes it impossible to be fully wrong. being fully wrong when you can avoid it must never be allowed to happen.
yup my strategy is close to that; sell some, hodl most. i have profited well even with high electric cost. after all, BTC is only worth what you sell it for at the time, not what it used to be or might be. EDIT: corrected my username.. DOH!

If miner is working what does it matter what stratum mode it specifies? ?? some of us have bandwidth caps. a working stratum is needed and should be monitored for correctness. since claymore charges 1% fee for use (and other miner authors do not, see "-ck", a mod here and author of the immensely popular cgminer program for an example) we feel entitled to fixes. btw i use claymores miner and have donated to -ck and kano.

welcome to bitcointalk. i too interested in well written, knowledgeable stuff to follow. the signal to noise ratio for btc is near infinity:1 here on bitcointalk and not much better in the net in general. my one comment on the above article (as a nobody) is i have read here that some btc mines are built near hydo power plants. and they can use excess power capacity that would otherwise be wasted. here is a good thread to read: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1072474its mainly about one mine in particular and not about sustainability, just about mining farms in general.
