4301  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1000 Fake User Registrations in Bounty Campaigns on: August 08, 2020, 12:15:53 PM
While searching the Web I found a couple of my clones, which were registered in bounty campaigns.
For reference: The "Veleor" profiles in the Google docs below are fake, I have not registered in these campaigns.
Social media addresses, Ethereum wallets, emails and other info indicated there don't apply to me.
Yeah this is not rare. I saw my twitter account which I had used for some bounties at one time to be used in some unknown users application form. But since there is no way to stop users from copying other users there is nothing that can be done about this.

Besides if the manager does not probe and check them then it is mismanagement from their part.

Imagine someone signing up on a twitter bounty with my twitter account as applied since it has 5k+ followers (shabby I know). There would not be anything posted on that account to complete the bounty at all because I am not using it to. So essentially they are getting into the campaign but not getting paid anything.

These little kids think that they can get away with anything. Roll Eyes
4302  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam by user ses-store on: August 08, 2020, 12:12:29 PM
I mean the user has a Type1 Flag on his face and some negative feedback. Do you not even check anything before you trust someone with your money or do you think the trust system here is so broken that dirtbag scammers are going to go scot free after being know to be scamming?

If you are so careless about trades in this forum then nobody can help you.

BTW telegram messages are not considered as proper proof but only circumstantial or even less.
4303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What happened in the bounty program? on: August 08, 2020, 05:17:19 AM
How all scam?
Majority are, and then the numbers reach upto 99.99% we can easily say "all". Wink

Quote
Lol you should check bounty section there have been more good bounty and you can participate.
The word "good" is relative. We dont see bounties paying out millions of dollars to every participant. While that if happening would be called a "good" bounty by any hungry bounty hunter to someone else that might not be the case. Some users are so foolish even today that handing them out some tokens of zero value and false promises is going to fetch their trust and they will endlessly shill that project. Regardless of whether the project is a failure or a scam.

Quote
Legal or scam bounty it will depend on your own research so be careful when you wanna participate a bounty, like should follow project activity, IEO, Exchange, products, team profiles, and very impressed their partnership.
Nobody does that though. Majority of the hunters here are from low income countries and they dont bother to check the "Scam Accusations" section of this forum. Neither they do they want to learn how to detect scams. Roll Eyes

Also the point what I said in the first line, it ends up being a goose chase so they hunters try their luck on every bounty essentially spamming all of them and getting zero worthy tokens in return or worse, none at all. Undecided
4304  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Low listing fee on: August 08, 2020, 05:11:07 AM
Cheaper listing fees are always with DEXs and not CEXs. Like Binance has been known to ask for fees of the range of 4BTC and then when the backlash came from public they say they are giving it to charity.

Use the DEXs that the above users suggested. But also keep in mind that users always prefer ease of usage so ask your users who are using that token about their choice too. Like if you are from a team then ask in their social media groups.

This will prevent a backlash that happens with some specific fanbois of certain exchange asking the question "Why not "this exchange"?" Although not everyone can be made happy but you can at least do a survey to make sure everyone gets their chance in putting their vote.
4305  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: August 08, 2020, 05:06:32 AM
In fact I prefer the old website because in my opinion it is light and not slow like the new website but I don't know if I think maybe it is more comfortable with the old site.
Give it some time. Changes to things that we are used to move us from out comfort zones and initially become difficult to take it but it grows on you with time. I have seen FJ since the days when the even older site was functional in pre-2016 era. The one after that was even better and the new one is another step.

Quote
A little problem with the new site even though it is connected to WIFI, it remains on my computer a little slow and sometimes logs out by itself when it is only a few minutes away but for me this is not a problem, the most important thing is that the old site is still used for the convenience of its users including me .
This happens with every user on the older site as well. Some specific time of inactivity automatically logs out the user. I am not very welll versed with it if it just happens with specific browsers on Private Browsing or to every browser.
4306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Attention for bounty work on: August 07, 2020, 06:41:31 AM
You do something for free and then you start raging that the person whom you did it for should be expelled? Sounds logical? Roll Eyes

Its about time some of the bounty hunters understood that running after bounties is a waste of time now. If you want to get paid get a job or gain some skills and apply for jobs in real life.

Again merit sources are partial towards those who have been spamming the bounty sections. However we have many users who started as bounty hunters but became well known/well awarded with merits in the longer run. Why not strive to be someone like them?

Anger will not get you anywhere. But it is normal to be angry but this is a reminder that no payment that is worth enough money is ever promised for a project specially because the altcoin market is another pump and dump to larger scale and coin offering are non-legal securities - it is not even worth calling them securities at all.

You will not be getting any sympathy from other users here, rather more bashing that you should suck it up and move on. Sorry to say but it is true.
4307  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Coinbase deposit doesn't show up on: August 07, 2020, 04:47:40 AM
I guess you have nothing else to do but wait.

It reminds me of the waiting for transaction confirmation on other wallets in case you use a lower fee. Here it is the opposite side. Cheesy

But of course for coinbase this can be a sort of customer dissatisfaction issue. Not sure how they handle such cases by just telling them to "wait it out", but from the perspective of a person who is less knowledgeable for blockchain and transactions this can be a panic situation. Undecided

If sending money from Coinbase to Coinbase, it only takes a few minutes to complete.
Are the fees fixed for coinbase transactions? Because I use desktop wallets only. If this would be the case then I think it will help users tag the wallet addresses personally as "Username - CB wallet" or otherwise so it will save time and hassle.
4308  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: please help me {cry of help} on: August 07, 2020, 04:40:15 AM
For a second I thought you were in trouble, You really didnt need that though, there are users ready to help with info. Grin

You can trust some users on the forum to do paypal exchanges but yes it is at your own risk and I know that is sounds a circle back to square one in terms of fiat vs crypto but hey, your needs are having higher priority than some ideology.

Many ICO projects actually did set up bitcoin debit cards but they all had the same problem : users have to buy their services and get a card, give their KYC and use it. Gradually they have lost importance.

It is better to verify yourself and check with your bank so you can sell your bitcoins on exchange and use that to fill up your bank balance and use that.
4309  Other / Archival / Re: I am developing and designing an exchange and looking for some suggestions! on: August 07, 2020, 04:35:06 AM
A "faucet" for trial like play money is good enough but gets medium importance to me. Some users who are developing bots and trying to run homebrewen strategies might like it. Did you get that name from the faucet dispense of crypto-games? Cheesy

The UI looks good but just an image will not do, lets hope that the beta version will be made available for testing out in near future.

What are the deposit/withdraw options available? Are you going to register yourself as a business somewhere? It is a DEX I assume for now.

Seems minimalistic - which is not a bad thing. But some traders like to have all sorts of indicators in one place so you might face some backlash from them, might want to keep some room for that.

Overall I think it looks good but trying out the real thing would bring out more suggestions from users.
4310  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Investing In Crypto Genuine Better Than Trading Forex on: August 06, 2020, 06:59:57 AM
After making some money in crypto I venture into trading forex, but I got my finger burnt. I wasted a lot of money without making a single profit. I regretted this venture.
One of the reasons why some investors get burnt is that they lack the patience to focus on one sector and do jumping around to other sectors hoping to make profit everywhere. It is fine as long as you know what you are doing and have experience in that. For your case I take it that you were less experienced in forex.

Quote
I have come into conclusion that investing in the genuine crypto project is far better than trading forex.  The risk in trading forex is higher than investing in a genuine crypto project.
Biased statements based on personal opinion.
The same statement would be the reverse for a well versed forex trader who tried their hand in crypto. Understood my point?

Fact that both types of trades exist means that both markets are profitable but is not for everyone.

The false notation of "Mine is good, yours is bad" is a exaggeration of biased opinions based on short term outcomes and should not be used to draw conclusions. Roll Eyes
4311  Economy / Exchanges / Re: which bitcoin decentralized exchange has no trading fee? on: August 06, 2020, 06:53:01 AM
Why does it seem to you that some exchanges are not fully decentralized? Is there some evidence to back your claim, if so I am sure everyone would be willing to dig into it.

While a certain compromise may be done on part of the exchange but running so would be unethical or against their said terms. I agree that token swaps are the thing but then we have no other choice in the platter. If you want to simplest bitcoin<>altcoin change then a CEX is better in terms of both liquidity and ease but bad in terms of trading fees.

No trading fee would mean no earning for the exchange. They need to reap some profit otherwise they are going to go bankrupt.
4312  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: wallet restore from wallet file on: August 06, 2020, 06:48:01 AM
that bug only happened when user tried broadcasting a transaction, the message was ONLY received in response to a transaction that was sent. OP has problems with opening the wallet file.

Electrum does not give update notifications on opening the wallet does it? I said so because the OP says this:

I haven't been using my wallet for a long time (version 2.6.4) but today I wanted to transfer everything to a new storage and found out I need to update to newer version of Electrum. So I did update but somehow I thought that Electrum would open my old wallet again.
Which is why I asked. I hope it was not the similar case and that OP has not lost any funds. But I would be hoping to hear from them again about whether the problem was resolved or not.
4313  Economy / Reputation / Re: Members Asking For Donations To Help Poor People on: August 05, 2020, 02:31:09 PM
Just posting my opinion here, not trying to make someone look bad.

There have been trusted users who are raising money for donations - this is not a bad thing as long as you trust them. Point is that I believe in Karma. If they are scamming then they will be punished because the donators are giving in good faith, that is the least we can rely on.

It is like similar to the unspoker rules of the internet that "Every user on the internet is male unless you know them in real life" , similarly if you know them, well and good.

However I have never been a supporter of donations for poor. I have always followed the ideal of "Teach the man how to fish and he will feed himself". Giving money to someone might make you feel good but it does not solve the problem.

Anyway, the ones who are organizing these charities, good luck to them. It is the choice of the person donating to trust them or not. If they are making a wrong decision there is no way to find out easily, nobody forced them to donate anyway.
4314  Local / India / Re: Can increase in Gold's volatility benefit bitcoin ? on: August 05, 2020, 05:48:34 AM
PS: @OP, did you ask this question from the point of view of Indian market? Otherwise, I don't see any reason why you posted this thread in 'India' section instead of 'Economics' section.
I guess it is fine to post some topics of generic interest in this local board. Because the number of new topics here are pretty low and the discussion is also very small. It helps get some new posts and generate some activity here which is the only way to get some merit distribution done.

I mean I feel bad seeing users younger (in terms of forum years) come here and already have reached legendary worth merits while many others still stuck. Their local boards are getting very high degree of merit cycling. #feelsbadman Embarrassed
4315  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: wallet restore from wallet file on: August 05, 2020, 05:43:17 AM
Not sure why old Electrum version was unable to open my old wallet, but fresh install of 4.0.2 solved it.
Are the funds intact? There was previously a hack which allowed a false message inside the electrum window to appear and prompt the user to install a new version which was actually a malware created to steal your money.

You can read about it here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5090097.0

If you didnt get such a message or you installed the new version on your own then you should be fine. Again if you have not been able to restore the wallet.dat file you need to remember your seed words to help you restore it.
4316  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Why can exchanges freeze account. on: August 05, 2020, 05:29:27 AM
I have been wondering of people telling me exchanges can freeze accounts, that makes me very afraid to use exchanges to trade,  a friend of mine told me hitbtc freezed his account.
That friend of yours probably did not tell you what part of the TOS they were breaking in the first place. And you didnt bother to ask because, hey they are your friends right? Roll Eyes

Quote
Why are exchanges freezing accounts?
Mostly money laundering. I will not be impartial to hitbtc here, even though they have scam accusations. This can happen on any popular or less popular exchange.

Quote
What can I do to make them not freeze my account?
Do not launder money or break their TOS.

Quote
What are the best exchanges to use?
That is a topic for another thread.

Quote
I like no kyc exchanges, please do not advice me to use any kyc exchange. I prefer exchanges that do not demand for kyc or the ones that makes kyc not mandatory?
Every CEX will ask for KYC one day or another. Small cap traders whose daily traded volume is <1BTC should not worry about it.

DEXes dont ask for KYC but they are more risky to use in terms of getting hacked or seizure by authorities.
4317  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.com "Not enough funds - please use maximum" on: August 05, 2020, 05:25:09 AM
The image does not show the individual coin balances.

And when I then click on "maximum funds" there are only ca. 57,- Euro available.
Is that what you have on bitcoin? If so then that is the only value of coins that you can withdraw.

Please post a proper image balance of the balance if you need help. Otherwise you are trolling here with a partial image. Roll Eyes
4318  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you make `Trading` profitable? on: August 04, 2020, 05:25:53 AM
The point when you sell needs to be predetermined before entering.

If you are hoping that a certain asset is going to get 10% gains, then once it does sell it. Dont think twice but sell it. To keep things as minimally traumatic to your brain, you can follow this process too. That is also how bots process information.

Next, if you are buying something for a long term gain, you have to predetermine the lock in period or a maximum gain at which you will be satisfied at the profit figures.

So basically two things are to be kept in mind - time period and profit percentage.

Point is also not to get greedy and keeping your expectations down to the ground. This is more possibly seen more in the fiat markets than crypto but applicable to both. No specific indicator is there for knowing when to sell though. You have to over-smart the market psychology.
4319  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Beware of anyone telling you that they are part of bitcointalk group designers on: August 04, 2020, 05:08:08 AM
The reason the list was made as similarly done with escrows, campaign managers, trusted lenders etc is to make a specific thread listing all those who are trusted and have been known to deliver quality service over time.

There is no specificism or favoritism here as to only these users are the ones or so. That is your wrong way of thinking which nobody can correct unless you understand that on your own.

Of course there are other people willing to be designers. I am sure if they gradually make a name for themselves the users who maintain the thread will be willing to add them to the list.

@OP if you are a designer yourself, be professional and stop the childish attitude, would you like if your customers would see this thread, your delusional way of thinking and make an opinion about you? You are very likely going to lose some gigs which you should have been able to complete.

Behaving professional on the internet does not take much effort.
4320  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to advertise cryptocurrency exchange platform? on: August 04, 2020, 04:58:03 AM
Inevstors and traders are mostly active on twitter, if you don't have much fund for Ads placement on popular omega sites. Tweet, retweet and tagging of friends might do wonder and the cost is minimal as compared to placing Ads.
I would say that an SEO expert would be better to handle this. There are traders and investors on twitter but these are mostly the low to mid-cap traders apart from retail investors. Bigger names in venture capitals do not waste their time investing on stuff promoted on twitter or so because they know that majority of them are worthless with time.

What they do to raise capital is sent prospectus to the bigger capital funds and set up a meeting where they discuss a lot of under the table deals. That is how the "advisors" are taken in. They have a lock in period and they will sell their coins after that. It is bad for the market but good profit for the bigger funds.

Another point is that social media buzz is often manipulated and inorganic, so the real engagement ratios might always be fake. Proper growth of a project happens through development and proper marketing, not just ad placements.
