Well, this thread just give a warning about how lethargic they are and doesn't even bother checking who applies with them. More like they only care on the quantity of people that will promote them or their managed project/s.
Some bounty campaigns have thousands of participants, do you really think that a single manager will be able to check all those profiles (alt accounts, tagged accounts, spammers...). I know about many bounty hunters who received their reward just for posting an authentification post and filling the google form without meeting any of the campaign's requirements. I don't agree with ChuckBuck, these CMs should be called out on their laziness and unprofessionalism. OP's intents or motives do not matter.

I remember reading about most of the hacking attacks but don't remember when they happened exactly so I had to answer randomly. Got 7/10, though! Thank you for the quiz and the link. Good to know that the last successful hack happened more than five years ago.

I also read some cases of hacked that's why I'm a bit afraid to use this bitcoin accelerator but I guess it's not true to hack bitcoin transactions.
Some if not most of those transaction accelerators are scams. However, all they can do is to ask you to pay few bucks to get your transaction accelerated (which will not happen). They can't hack your wallet or steal your funds as long as you are required to only provide the transaction ID. Never disclose any data related to your wallet other than the transaction ID since it's the only information they need to accelerate a stuck transaction.

How about making 1 thread and update it with the promotions Going by this section if forum half of the page has roobet roobet There is no point in making 30 differents posts while you can do it all in 1.what you do is the definition of SPAM
It's called PROMOTION for a reason. Besides all old topics have been locked and archived.

Thanks for sharing ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) It has been a long time since the last time I read such an amazing and inspiring story. Personally, I know many people who were jobless and without any source of income but bitcoin literally changed their lifes. Bitcoin can be a life changer indeed especially in poor countries where there is no other means to shop online and fees to transfer money internationally are unbearable.

You are right, didn't check seclog page. But why would any one change the original email linked to the account (probably to the hacker's email) then reset the password via secret question?! Or was that OP who did it? Now all he can do is to sign a message with a staked address as suggested above and contact the recovery team. Without a signed message, his chances to get his account back are slim as he used to change emails frequently.

I noticed that when I sync my Bitcoin Core, with same level of connection (shows with WiFi Connection status), the sync speed is different. When I sync my wallet to 2015 (first half), the speed becomes slower.
Not sure but maybe it's getting slower because the blockchain size is increasing exponentially each year. Till the end of 2015, its size was around 55Gb, it has almost doubled by 2016 to reach ~100Gb, now it's ~270Gb. Hence it's normal to get slower. I also want to know the method to connect more nodes because I thought more nodes can help me to sync my wallet faster.
you can increase the number if nodes you want to connect to by editing the value of maxconnections in your configuration file. I also notice my computer works slowly if I open wallet and sync it, slower than when I don't sync wallet.
A full node has to validate all transactions and blocks which is resource intensive.

A red tag or a flag is enough, imo, to avoid any possibility of abuse or falling in censoring newbies because of misjudgements. If in some boards mods take to long to handle reports then the appropriate action would be adding more more mids. don't know if theymos has any statics regarding each mod's response time to reports!
Or maybe adding a feature allowing to flag a report as "urgent" so any available mod even locals can see it and handle it.

Thankfully it was a temporary wallet! You should always backup your wallet file and save your seeds. I want to know if I still have a way to restore it, or which recovery program can help me Restore the entire Electrum program and data so I think I can find my wallet too
All you need to recover is the wallet file ( +password if it was encrypted) not the entire software. I recommend using recuva to recover your lost files. I used it before but sometimes I just end up with corrupted filles.

I believe you are asking this because of Betnomi negative trust and red flag appeal ! Anyway, we can take it as an actual exemple. tldr; ICOEthic, who has been inactive for long time, left betnomi a negative feedback which is not valid anymore. Some DTs suggested a counter feedback. Personally, I don't think this is the right way to solve the issue as the red orange -1 will be always there on betnomi's profile. Besides, leaving a positive feedback as a counter can be missleading too or undeserved to say the least. "Two wrongs don't make a right"

Maybe because the majority are used to banks and other financial institutions and simply are not yet ready to start using Bitcoin which implies being your own bank. Besides, the number of stores / merchants / services which accept cryptos is still negligible compared to those offering other online payment methods.
Personally, it took me more than two years before the first time I heard about bitcoin and the first time I practically used it. So, I think ten or eleven years isn't really a long period and, possibly, it will take longer before we see a wider adoption.

No, that's not a problem. ICOEthics inactive doesn't mean his/her all feedbacks are wrong. So he/she shouldn't lose DT2 position at this case. He/she have left lots of accurate feedback and that should exist. Please re-read my comment. I never said ICOEthic shouldn't be on DT or he has left many wrong feedbacks. In fact, he was one of the most active users fighting scammers and busting fake projects. Removing him from DT wouldn't be in anyone's favor. In this particular case, his feedback is harming OP's business. Maybe the most appropriate solution would be to pm theymos and ask him to remove the feedback!

You can't skip the first step. How are you going to encrypt the message then! In asymetric encryption, a key pair is needed. a public key known to everyone used to encrypt the message and a corresponding private key known by only the one who generated it and the only one supposed to decrypt the message. Asymetric encryption solves the main problem with symetric encryption (where one key is used for both encryption and decryption) which is how to safely share the key without being intercepted by a malicious party.
|
|
|
^^ no, it won't work. As you can see, you need the public key not the address to encrypt a message. You will have to ask the one you want to send the encrypted message to to give you his public key or do what ranochigo suggested since there is no other way to retrieve a public key from an address.
|
|
|
What do you mean by inserting an address and what for? If you mean to import it into Electrum then yes, it's possible. But it will only create a watching-only wallet that can be used to monitor the addresse's history/activity. Using a watching-only wallet, you will not be able to sign or encrypt messages if this is what you want to achieve.
