4321  Economy / Economics / Re: Is silver a good store of value? on: September 09, 2016, 12:32:05 PM
Gold being denser and worth much more by volume means you can hide it much better. You can literally store millions of euros/dollars in a small space. With silver, you need 126 times more space to store the same value.

Example 3 liters of gold, the volume of two 1,5l water bottles => 57,9Kg of gold => 2,5 millions dollars

2,5 millions dollars => 3971Kg of silver => 378 liters of silver. So you need the space of a full bathtub, instead of 2 water bottles.
True, but not everyone just has millions laying around to invest with, so silver is better suited for small time investors.
And you could also invest in silver without actually holding the silver yourself...
4322  Economy / Economics / Re: Loans too risky? on: September 09, 2016, 12:28:58 PM
Loans can be a risky if you ask me but if you know that you are able to pay it back then it should be no problem at all.
Take only a loan when you need something that is important and if you can pay it back.
your statement that i underlined is definitely the main problem here,if people know that they can pay the loan back then why starting a discussion with a topic "loans too risky",doesn't make sense at all,so your statement above definitely not helping to resolve the problem, and i think most of people would only requesting a loan when really getting forced or in need
The guy just misunderstood the topic, he's talking about someone taking out a loan instead of giving out a loan, which was what OP was talking about.
At least read the first post before you answer...
4323  Other / Off-topic / Re: bitcoin affects life a lot on: September 09, 2016, 12:26:39 PM
Bitcoin affects life in a positive way because the bitcoins I hold would allow me to have a better financial future. Also, if it becomes a widely used currency, I would be able to spend some on a regular basis. I just wish I had known about bitcoin much earlier so I could have bought and earned while it was still really cheap.

No need to regret for getting late into bitcoin, but we should be satisfied that finally we are at the right place where we can earn good money and can secure our future in the best possible way.
Yeah, I mean what if you bought Bitcoins at 10 dollars? Wouldn't you been inclined to sell them once they hit like $20 or $30?
I think it's extremely rare to find people that have bought at $10 and then sold them when they hit $1000, unless they completely forgot about it.
4324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is stealing Bitcoin illegal? on: September 09, 2016, 12:23:07 PM
I don't know where you are located but stealing anything is illegal all around the world, bitcoin is a currency or even according to governments at least a commodity, of course stealing it is considered illegal, Whether the thief gets caught or not is not the question.
thats true, stealing bitcoins is illegal all around the world and it will surely be like that all the time in my opinion and it is a good thing
Yes I agree, stealing bitcoin is illegal. It is include in cybercrime type and anyone who doing this can get arrest. I think we need to find new technology that make store bitcoin is more safely. I only divide my bitcoin in different wallet to reduce the  risk at now.
It's already possible to store your Bitcoins safely, but a lot of people just don't do it.
You can have your coins safely in a paper wallet that's been generated with a computer that has never been connected with the internet and that would be quite safe to store Bitcoins.
4325  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a gift for a baby? on: September 09, 2016, 12:20:28 PM
I wouldn't risk it, because by the time she may use it, it might be a little risky as its' value could go up or down.

Yeah but it could potentially be a great gift imagine how much it can go up in the future and then the baby will thank you forever. Anyways i dont think it will lose its whole value and maybe you could manage it for the baby until he or she grows up!
So you're basically placing some sort of bet for your children? :p
I wouldn't put all their savings on Bitcoin, but I would story like 1 or 2 btc for them to use in the future.
4326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what price did you get your first BTC? Bought or Mined. Are you ahead? POLL. on: September 09, 2016, 12:18:20 PM
I don't remember the exact price, but it was certainly under $100.
Doesn't really matter now, because I've long sold them when they were at $1000 and alos bought some stuff with them.

I still own some, but bought them at a much higher price.
4327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WORST decision about BTC on: September 09, 2016, 12:03:51 PM
Hi, all. I know that everyone here would have made some terrible decision about BTC. So I was wondering, what is the worst decision that you have ever made.

Personally, my worst decision was gambling 1.3 BTC in dice, just yesterday. Smiley

Compared to yours, my losses are nothing, losing 1.3 btc in just a single day is really a bad feeling, i saw someone crying around somewhere in the forum for losing something similar to yours and wishing to kill himself.
Well my mistakes were always investing in hyips which never turned out to be good obviously, though i did not lose much but according to what i used to earn that time it was a lot for me.
And that's why you shouldn't invest in HYIP's, even if they pay out a couple of times, you will probably lose in the long run.
Plus you're enabling them to scam other people too.
4328  Economy / Gambling / Re: Kibo Lotto on: September 09, 2016, 12:01:32 PM
After looking at the site, I'm not sure if you could consider this a lotto, since it just seems more like the start of a new altcoin (Kibo Tokens) combined with some lottery aspects.
I'd be careful to say the least.
4329  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: September 09, 2016, 11:58:03 AM
2X reward points starting from Saturday 10 September 00:00 UTC to Sunday 11 September 23:59 UTC (48 hours).

Follow us on twitter to be reminded a couple of hours before it starts: https://twitter.com/freebitco

UTC time: http://time.is/UTC
That's a nice promo, but I still think that the faucet payouts are pretty low in general, especially compared to other dice sites like Crypto-games.
Too bad it's not possible to get higher faucet payouts if you're a long time member or gamble a lot.
4330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Jio Network May Boost India’s Bitcoin Economy on: September 09, 2016, 11:08:46 AM
The use of Bitcoin may get some more fortification in India as the region’s most wealthiest man is enabling super cheap 4G to a billion Indian citizens.

India’s Richest Man Gives 4G Data to a Billion People

Mukesh Ambani is one of the richest men in India. Local consumers will have the opportunity to try Ambani’s new Jio Network, allowing 4G data at significantly lower prices.

https://news.bitcoin.com/jio-network-boost-india-bitcoin-economy/

Yes it is definitely a best news for us but I can't relate the fact with bitcoin. How jio will boost bitcoin economy. Yes  cheap internet will allow us to do many stuffs online and in such situations many unemployed or hopless guys could make their pocket money by themself. So jio service is going to become a boon for us.
I think it will have somewhat of an impact, just the fact that there will be more internet users, means that more people will come into contact with Bitcoin.
The scope of the impact on Bitcoin is debatable though, but maybe crypto currency is especially useful to people in developing countries.
4331  Other / Off-topic / Re: I spent all my saving on bitcoin, now i am broke on: September 09, 2016, 11:01:48 AM
I also can not understand why you are investing all your savings into the bitcoin its a risk and its just stupid to do this to be honest..
You can better invest a smaller amount to play it save these days, the bitcoin is unpredictable.
Because some website are offering some good pay backs where they can easily grow your money in month or weeks depends on what you offer you choose on their website sometimes people are too greed of wealth where they don't think the risk they facing of to be honest trading is much more better than investing Smiley
What? He wasn't even talking about investing those Bitcoins and you're giving out bad advice, it's not easy to grow your Bitcoins and it's also not safe.
Sure, you can trade, but that's always with risks.
4332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is big problem in using of bitcoin on: September 09, 2016, 10:59:57 AM
the same way I feel. sometimes confirmation takes about 10 minutes. it makes the transaction that I did have to wait. for some people it is very disturbing because it could spend their time.

It can be frustrating if you need money in case of any emergency and at that time people will really hate bitcoins as it is not helping them in the best possible way.
i think that it would be great  if i was able to use bitcoins in case of an emergency, i then would sell all the bitcoins i guess

You can surely use bitcoins at the time of emergencies but what will you do if you desperate need money and confirmation takes hours and hours, and that's what above mates are discussing.

Confirmation in any transaction which is in the main we are the bitcoin. The last few months because it was a confirmation of the bitcoin's getting slowed down and I don't know for sure what the cause is. But if indeed we have in backing up all chaneel needs (investments) then I'm sure every business we do in bitcoin will made us become rich person
You know, there is a simple solution for that, just add more fees.
I haven't had any transaction take more than 10 minutes to confirm after using double the recommended fees.
4333  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Which US presidential candidate will back Bitcoin? on: September 09, 2016, 10:58:28 AM
The better question would be: who will impose further regulations against Bitcoin?
I do not see any of the two main candidates, Clinton or Trump, outright endorsing Bitcoin.

If anyone would endorse it it would be Jill Stein or Gary Johnson.
4334  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best bitcoin casino with legit jackpot? on: September 09, 2016, 10:49:46 AM
I personally enjoy playing slots on bitcoinvideocasino, they have multiple progressive jackpots, on every game.
Current progressive jackpot on the lowest minimum bet slots is around 3 BTC.
4335  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: September 07, 2016, 12:34:39 PM
My strategy is to not be impulsive when thinking you just missed out on something.
It's good practise to do this but I wouldn't call that a real trading strategy.
My own strategy is to trade only when there is high volatility, well if I want to turn a quick profit at least, and also trade when there is news about certain coins.
4336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If no one spends bitcoin what might happen? on: September 06, 2016, 03:18:14 PM
Bitcoin value will increase if there are many demand on it.
I'm sure this will be the most wanted currency that ever live on earth

If all the Bitcoin users refuse the spend their Bitcoin and decide to just hold all of them, then the price of Bitcoin will not move. Bitcoin's price will not increase, it will not decrease as well. No movement will be detected until somebody decides to sell their bitcoin or until somebody enters the bitcoin world and decide to invest some money into Bitcoin.

I'm sure everyone will buy bitcoin and the value will increased exponentially
Doesn't the price go down when a lot of people are spending Bitcoin in shops that immediately convert those Bitcoins to fiat?
4337  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: bitcoin hyip are they a gamble? on: September 02, 2016, 01:18:44 PM
In my own opinion this is really a way also of gambling your money but unlike gambling your faith would be on the other hand it is also somehow looks like lending your money and get it back with interest.
I dunno, you can somewhat question the ethicallity of gambling, but there is no question that ponzis are unethical.
I wouldn't even compare tham to gambling, if you partake in them, you're also helping them scam people.

Plus ponzis are definitely illegal.
4338  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: September 02, 2016, 01:15:49 PM
dont hope to buy bitcoin for $100/btc
price bitcoin is very hard down to $100/btc
I dont think the price of bitcoin is down to $100

the price is definitely never going to go down that much in the near future, in my  opinion the price of the bitcoin is going to be going only up now

I think so, nowadays there are many people, business, stores, and company using bitcoin and invest on it so it hardly to say bitcoin would decline to $100. But if bitcoin price at $100, maybe I would buy it depend on the situation. For now, we just hope bitcoin will continues to increase.
$100 is very hard to see and when that happens for sure bitcoin will be in a difficult situation, but if give I see a chance with that price I would not direct grab to buy it because we need to be clever and we should know if that is not a trap or not, seeing the price rise again from $100 is a good time to buy.

I could only see that happening if somethig really bad happens, like multiple big exchanges crashing at the same time or something like that.
Or it could also gradually decline, still unlikely.
4339  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way for steady income on: September 02, 2016, 01:12:47 PM
best way for that is to invest your bitcoin in good mining or other site
and the website will turn out to be a hyip scam and BAM you dont have any money and you are broke, there is no way to make steady profit with bitcoins

Yeah, the mining site is one place that was terrible and dangerous. Because in the mining sites we do not know with any certainty or true to what they actually do. I see that most of the mining sites using the ponzi system, not necessarily because they can benefit from the mining tool rental at their disposal > because electricity costs and also needs less money backup/
Depends  on what mining site you're using, Genesis mining is definitely mining and no ponzi.
Thst doesn't mean that you will profit though.
4340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Official bitcoin logo on: September 02, 2016, 01:10:36 PM
Out of those 2 logos, I like the orange one better since I'm kind of tired of seeing that first one and the resolution doesn't seem that great.

Not going to repeat that the idea of an 'official' logo is kinda silly, it has been mentioned enough.
Just giving my opinion on the logos themselves.
