Plagiarism should not be an error, but tagging the account is not right, the account supposed to be reported to moderators for ban.
He didn't plagiarize on the forum, he plagiarized on Medium for which he got tagged by the bounty manager.

@OP Since you are ready to copy/paste someone else's work I would definitely consider you as a trading liability so no surprise there that you got tagged. And I love that "mistake" argument that all of you cheaters likes to use, like someone else's text can appear in your article by a wrong click.
4322  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Mjesečna Analiza za Hrvatsku Lokalnu Zajednicu (Bitcointalk Croatian) on: January 31, 2022, 05:13:44 PM

Lista aktivnih clanova naseg boarda u periodu 1.12-31.12

Cheesy

I know how hard is to update all those graph and analysis, so I encourage you to keep i the good work!
I am a master procrastinator, that's the main issue. Cheesy

Indeed, what actually happened to the Pilipinas section of the forum?
Seems like  November (170 merits shared in that period) was nothing but an exception for their board, as they have pretty much similar numbers to Decmeber in the last 6-7 months. I hoped that situation changed back in November, but I guess they still have the same issue.

Are their merit sources  became inactive so it’s time for some new merit sources?
Yeah, that could be the case as I doubt that their post quality fluctuates that much. In the end, only their members can say what's exactly going on there, we can only guess.
4324  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: January 31, 2022, 11:12:52 AM
PM some users who are not currently participating in that voting thread, I think it will save you more time to get at least 200 votes from different users.
The forum also raised user awareness after the news section was announced about this vote, so maybe PMing to some users would also help a lot. This is just a suggestion, you decide.
Why would he do that? Honestly, if someone sends me PM about something like this, I would be really annoyed and probably wouldn't even vote, even if I initially planned to. Additionally, threads in Meta and Reputation are constantly close to the top of the boards so anyone that is even remotely interested in voting will eventually see it. Give it a time, some are probably having issue deciding so they are still waiting. Same thing happened to me last year.
4325  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: January 31, 2022, 10:39:36 AM
This time it took me a little bit more than usual, but monthly overview of the local boards activity is finally here. Charts and tables are made with he help of @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and @TryNinja Ninjastic.space.

Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Nigerian, Bangladesh) don't have their own local boards. At least not for now, but hopefully that changes in the future.

Post activity per local board during December 2021

This month we had an increase of posting activity: from 19413 posts written in November to 20817 written during last month, which is a solid ~7 percent increase. No changes when it comes to top 6 boards, with Russian board far ahead of the others, as usual.

Turkish board recovered a little bit compared to November, but still their numbers are far from where they were ~6 months ago. Looking at Merit Dashboard, part of the reason for their decline might a big decrease in " Konu Dışı" board activity, which is some kind of "Off-topic" board, unless I am mistaken.

Merit shared per local board during December 2021

Unfortunately, increase in post count wasn't followed by merit increase in the same period. During December 6633 merits were shared which is almost 8 percent decrease compared to November and 7148 merits shared. Standard names are at the top: Russian, Turkish, German, Italian and Spanish.

Majority of boards had decrease with merit shared, but Pilipinas was the most drastic: from 170 merits shared in November to only 29 in December, which makes it a ~82 percent decrease. What's even weirder is that they were way more active in December than in November ( iirc ~90 percent increase). Maybe someone from their board can say more what happened there.

Merit senders and receivers per local board during December 2021

As its expected, more merit shared means more people being part of the merit system. Pilipinas board sticks out here, with quite a few people being part of merit shared despite very low amount of merit.

Merit/Post ratio per local board for December 2021

Compared to November, numbers in December are slightly lower but still much higher than the 12 months average so all good. Monthly merit/post ratio numbers tend to fluctuate a lot so nothing out of ordinary.

The most active members per local board during December 2021

Last but not the least, list of the most active members across 18 boards. This month we have a new champion, @willi9974 who wrote 321 posts in German board, beating November champion joker_josue by only 3 posts. Kudos to both of them!

4327  Economy / Reputation / Re: Just a Conjecture - Suspicious Activity Pattern! on: January 30, 2022, 02:57:51 PM
Another interesting fact is that it appears that all of these members are GPU mining with solar power and batteries. What are the chances of that?

Oh no don't say this to him and hurt his fragile feelings  :'
Thing that baffles me is how the hell these bounty campaigns are still a thing, as they haven't involved a bit in the last few years. And from what I could see, they were pretty much similar back in 2017/2018 too yet again altcoin projects think this is a way they will attract investors. This is as futile (and effective) as those bumping services.
4328  Economy / Reputation / Re: Just a Conjecture - Suspicious Activity Pattern! on: January 30, 2022, 02:20:35 PM
Some of the accused have some decent decent merits earned for their posts after looking at those from the main post. They also have some decent posts that should earned them reward assuming this accusations wasn't brought up, that been said I cannot go pushing them when they haven't broken any of my campaign rules (atleast not confirmed, we're just speculating).
Quality of their posts is completely irrelevant in this case.

I just found another interesting thing: three out of for accounts woke up at the same date. Another coincidence? I don't think so. So, Daodex woked up after ~7 months break, on January 07th. 7deadlyBTCIN did the same, after several months break he also restarted activity on January 7th. And the last one is LostEcho who also coincidentally wakes up at January7th.

So we have low level accounts sharing merit between themselves excessively, join the same signature campaign right after each other, 3/4 waking up at the same time and restarting activity. Yeah, they really look like legit members, nothing dodgy going on there.

that been said I cannot go pushing them when they haven't broken any of my campaign rules (atleast not confirmed, we're just speculating).
So you can't remove someone from your own campaign at your own discretion? Weird. One of the reason why bounty campaigns are total mess is because you (and by "you" I mean bounty managers in general) don't care much who joins your campaign, as long as you can show good numbers to your clients. If you really care, you would set much higher standards and  being way more picky who promotes your client.
4329  Economy / Reputation / Re: Just a Conjecture - Suspicious Activity Pattern! on: January 30, 2022, 10:20:11 AM
We can't just go around tagging users because they have merited themselves. If that was a thing then 99% of users on the forum should have be tagged because one way or the other we have been Merit Backscratchers.
While it's true that we  shouldn't tag members for bounty abuse without very strong evidence of connections (which hasn't be provided so far), you as a bounty manager still have right to remove someone from bounty campaign at your own discretion, right?

Even though connection is not strong enough for a negative feedback, I would personally kick that group of the accounts out of campaign as it's pretty much obvious what is going on here. Sooner or later they will slip (most likely by sending tokens to the same address or something along those lines) but why even allow them to get any tokens?

4330  Economy / Reputation / Re: [LIST] ANN threads that are using bumping services on: January 29, 2022, 06:35:36 PM
<...> this means that the service provider paid for these bumping services... for nothing! I really don't understand the logic behind this. It's like... OP was not even interested in selling his product anymore... like he simply paid to harm the forum through spam!

There might be a simpler explanation. Someone may have set up a bumping bot and forgotten about it. Smiley
While I don't know too much about it, I suspect something like that is possible.
Nah,  I don't think that someone forgot to turn off the bot. One of the selling points that those "marketing services" like to use when selling the bumping is that some ICO tracking sites are giving ratings based on activity on their bitcointalk ann threads.

For example, this is from ICObench, probably the most popular ICO tracking site. As you can see, they track social media platforms, and among them you can find bitcointalk. Only newbies care about ICObench rating but then again, that's their target audience.

Hello, this is your friendly reminder that the month is almost over and we both haven't done our monthly chore (yet).

Haha thanks for the reminder, as they say "every kick in the ass is a step forward". Cheesy

This month I managed to be more late than usual; on top of my standard laziness, I traveled a lot this month. Cherry on top was covid that finally got me (I was vaccinated though so symptoms were mild) but still managed to set me back. Anyway, Monthly overview should be out either tomorrow, or Monday at the latest.
4332  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: 🏆 Bitcointalk Community Awards [2021] on: January 29, 2022, 11:50:23 AM

This thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5379058.0 has been trashed/removed. So, I'm assuming it has been handled, but your report has remained unhandled for whatever reason. Wasn't me that handled it, I don't recall seeing it in my report queue either. So, not sure of the specifics of why your report has remained unhandled. Usually, when threads are removed, they're automatically handled.
Yeah, looking now at my report history, thread is marked as deleted  but last time I checked (I think it was yesterday), thread was still there, that;s why I mentioned it again. Anyway, good to see that its been deleted, no matter who did it. And for status still remaining unhandled, it's not a problem as I saw it happened before, not a big deal.

4334  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: January 25, 2022, 10:32:38 PM
I'm having the same issue, therefore I'm wondering if there's any way someone might skip some categories because I have no idea who or what to place as event of the year/fail event of the year. Is it necessary to fill up all of the categories?
icopress will correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think that it's mandatory to nominate members in all categories. Simply fill those that you are comofrtable with and that's about it. I might even leave some categories empty too, if I won't be able to find adequate candidates.
4335  Economy / Reputation / Re: [LIST] ANN threads that are using bumping services on: January 25, 2022, 10:29:21 PM
PDX? I thought the bounty thread was moved to the trashcan or are you talking about another one I've missed?
Not PDX, another topic that had similar situation like PDX but it wasn't deleted, my report is still unhandled. In past, similar threads usually got deleted so I was surprised that such an obvious case was ignored.

So, few days ago I reported to mods announcement thread that has bitcointalk reply as one of the requirements for their airdrop, which is against the rules.  Few days passed, and nothing happened so far so I am asking if others can report the thread as well, maybe that helps.

Ann thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5379058.0

Here is the proof

Their TG group where that airdrop is spread https://t.me/fundraiselaunchpad

However, this was just an exceptional case, and the users which were contributing to the spam were already banned, presumably because of the bumping.
Well, good to hear that it's still possibility, no matter how rare it happens.
4336  Economy / Reputation / Re: [LIST] ANN threads that are using bumping services on: January 25, 2022, 10:11:51 PM
Yeah, someone else has already moved it to the trashcan, if you find bounties which are offering an incentive to post, report them right away, and they'll be handled appropriately.
Will do! Can you please check the case that I mentioned in one of my previous posts, where project advertised giving tokens in exchange for comments, but they did it via thier telegram group. Isn't that breaking forum rules as well?

I started to delete each post individually, however I quickly come to realise that pretty much no one else posted on the thread, but the accounts that continued going back, and forth with mostly nonsense. I removed the thread completely. I suspect it was the people behind the project that hired a bumping service, and not necessarily the announcement manager.
Great to hear that is possible! Back in October 2020 I started thread in Meta asking exactly that

I am going straight to the question: Is it possible to delete announcement threads that have no real interest, OP is not sharing news/updates and basically only ones that are active are shill accounts? I know that usual practice is to delete those threads that organize giveaways in exchange for payment (breaking the rule nr 28) , but why not expand it to announcement threads that are doing almost the same thing by hiring one of those "marketing agencies"?

Here are few examples  of threads which are tirelessly spammed for months and meet the above mentioned criteria (no activity from legit members, inactive OP, huge amount of posts deleted due shill account spam):
...

Unfortunately I never got a reply from forum stuff regarding my question. but for me it was kinda logical  to remove those thread completely if there is absolutely nothing else going on, except those thread bumpers leaving their crap. By using that approach, you can make your life much easier as bunch of those threads that can be found on the list fall under that category.
4337  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: January 25, 2022, 06:13:40 PM

I saw the note, but it doesn't say anything about active account which never/almost never receive merit. But i trust you'll ignore vote from obvious abuser.
This can be easily avoided if people don't give merit only to those that give them vote and ignore the rest. I know that some people like to use merit as a "thank you", but IMHO in these situations it's best to avoid that practice as some will vote only to scoop couple of merits. I remember last time we had some members who were so lazy that they just copy/pasted other people's votes.

I also haven't idea about some categories and leave them blank. I guess it's more OK than nominating some random members.
I am having the same issue. For now I just left some categories blank and will eventually fill them up when/if I figure out who is the most deserving. Or maybe I am taking this too seriously. Cheesy

Because of the recent massive drop in bitcoin, I assumed that this bitcoin drop had put them in debt. If this dump continues for some more weeks, then it might be problematic for the El Salvador government. Because the opposition party has something to blame them for any kind of debt
Debt? I guess you mean loss. They are probably buying BTC as a long term investment and not for quick flip so no worries if you buy the dip while it keeps dipping. That's why dollar cost average (which I guess they are doing) is a pretty good investment technique.
