There are a lot of guides 'how to spend/move your decred'.... you should only follow them step by step.
I've followed them step by step. However, my local wallet does a dump and then crashes every time I try to unlock it. Not investing whole hog in this coin until I can be certain that the local wallet runs on my rig. I'd like to be involved in the solo staking, eventually. The web wallet does not offer that capability. Also, I really do not want to be involved in "pool staking" unless I can figure out how to be the pool operator. Why would I want to trust my valuable vote to a staking pool operator? |

i had 293 DCR then sent 13 DCR to Bittrex and my balance became 11 DCR
now there are two outgoing transaction - 13 to Bittrex and 282 to myself !
whats going on ?
It's because this code is still broken. Have fun being an alpha tester. Make sure you don't rip your hair out or break anything nearby, like your monitor or computer. What is airdrop?
You had to apply for this and the deadline was January 18th. The people who got the airdrop received a little over 282 coins. You and I missed the train on this.  |

Well, I give up trying to run this local wallet. 1st I try to unlock my wallet, and there must be a character that I used that it didn't like with the password because I kept getting an error that it was expecting 2 parameters instead of 1. (I used both parameters.) Then I recreated the wallet by deleting everything in the appdata folder and made a new password. Then when I tried to unlock it, it states that the remote host rejected the connection and knocks my wallet offline. I just created a second web wallet to recover my coins and am done with it. This local wallet sucks. I feel like I've been transported back to 1991, using DOS. What kind of "advanced" technology is this? BTW, I just bought my coins a few days ago, so I'm not going to sift through over 143 pages of posts here and wade through the Decred forum to try and find an answer. I already tried to do the searches and I get a bunch of BS that doesn't help my situation at all. P.S. GUI has been around for a long time. Lisa came out in 1983. This is now 33 years later. Hope the dev team can come up with a GUI with all of the functionality real soon. Not everyone in the crypto world loves to try and troubleshoot. I absolutely despise troubleshooting, and it takes every ounce of my being to avoid talking it out on my monitor and cracking it. |

EDIT: Why not a Qt wallet dev ?
It took me a couple of days, but I now have the daemon and wallet running. I don't have any actual coins in it though. I have them in the web wallet for now. I'm not in a hurry since I missed the train for the airdrop; don't want to mine with my AMD 7570; and not sure I want to lock up my small stash of 6 coins, for a month or more to solo stake. Thx I don't even now how to compile a wallet from a source code......... no book on it. But good luck with your coins. It's more like setting up a miner with cgminer than compiling. Thank goodness. For me compiling is a nightmare. |

So is the staking pool something the dev team is going to implement, or does someone from the community need to set it up, like mining pools?

although he gave coins away at start (which I think is short for a period of give away)
distribution wise...i think stake stick purchase should include some coins ready to stake.
Would you like all that served up to you on bone china, with gold trim? Or would you prefer the dishes to be ones carved from fine jadeite during the Ming Dynasty? what is your point? If the market is going to improve, the community needs to start putting in some buy support rather than bitching about it and expecting handouts. |

why don't you traansfer yours to me.. I'll hold it for ya  I'll let my 6 coins chill in the web wallet for now until I can figure out how to set up a node for solo staking. I don't think 6 coins would amount to much, staking, so I am in no hurry to try and figure this out. I gather the pool staking is not available, yet. |

This coin needs to get on Polo so I can move my meager BTC holdings from loan to exchange. I still can't figure out the wallet, but I could just buy it on POLO, and hope that it also gets on the margin trading as well so I can loan it out. I guess that I can dream.
dreaming is allowed. set aside mine - well sold 1 test coin i sent to bluestrade - saw the dump and closed the fuckin exchange. fuck that It's glory or zero, I'll trade other coins instead. happened to me with eth happened specially with fct, so I'm content with my airdrop being worth zero if it were to happen. I can chase profitz in other coins in the meantime anyhow. I missed the train on the airdrop. I don't want to mine with my wimpy 4 year old AMD. If I want to get in, I will have to buy them outright. Still in the consideration stage on whether to get in or not. Hope this doesn't fly to the moon before I make up my mind. |
