Freebets galore, thank you belated congratulations to Steve + co but as said above, no real surprise. Saw that that's really the headline award -- plenty of others won by other brands but that's like Best Film category at the Oscars. How's it feel like to set the pace and have everyone chasing you guys down? Wink

Can't wait to see what's on offer for World Cup (fine, cricket too, then), there's a reason I've been hodling my BTC balance =D

Only replying because I'm mentioned -- the thread I merited had very little to do with it being a Christmas greeting (which I don't even celebrate neither religiously nor culturally). I generally merit any kind of positive Bitcoin-related effort, in that case, guy was collecting Bitcoin to buy food to distribute to the needy.

That said, I merit posts I think contribute in any kind of cheer, good will, positivity, and constructive feedback. If I think a meme captures the spirit of the post and makes me smile, hell that's a merit.

Jason Jung

Very, very rare Monday live betting for me, and I looked at that ^ a bit late but suppose I dodged the Simon bullet.

Took Jung 2:0 live, this time following your pick exact and had pretty good odds @1.22 Wink But I just had to add in de Jong and Martener MLs for a little bit over 2/1. Just wanted to see if I could take this and have a little something to play for on Brasil footie later.

4324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool Discussion thread on: June 20, 2022, 11:49:00 AM
I'll rummage around myself too and see if we can scrape something, will update if so.

The UEFA Nations League is going on really boringly now. I hope that UEFA decide to reconsider this organization again in the coming years. I think that there is going to be a bigger interest in the Champions League pool this year. I didn't participate in it last year but I'm going to do it this time. It is a sad truth that it is even more difficult to climb the positions in the standings after the group stage.

More games, more money, we're never going back, my friend. And I feel like a lot of people watch games even when quality's shit esp on internationals so I guess there's very little to argue commercially.

That's good to hear from you! So that's CLS63, casperBGD, cryptofrka, me, slaman29 in order of last responses mean at least 5, pretty sure we can convince every past participant to join, if we get at least the La Liga Serie A pool people in, it's good as gold.

4325  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your bitcoin ATL prediction before next halving on: June 20, 2022, 10:46:16 AM
That said, we're going to see a lot more inflation-fighting measures from fiat nations, and the pricing in of further Fed rate hikes means we're getting more low blows for a bit.

$11k is my vote.

$12,000 was mine but yea I find it hard to fathom that we are now talking 12k, 11k, 10k
and possibly lower.

Lucius on page one made the point and its something I pointed out last week we are in times
now which have not happened in Bitcoins history so the poll is just a guessing game.

We are definitely entering very interesting times.

Yeah, the only thing left standing for history to make was for the previous cycle's high to never be broken as support. Past cycles didn't even really come close to past ATHs but this one decidedly went in only the second or third test.

Very interesting times indeed -- even more so with those actually building on/with or securing the network -- especially staring down a long dark barrel of unknowns.

Nice going yellow capper Wink Hamilton well deserved, must be nice personally for him to see all that skill finally rewarded.

Did NOT see other RB driver getting a DNF, did NOT see the other Ferrari getting on the podium, Tsunoda putting himself out, and Haas disappointing (should have seen that though, right?).

Not a big fan of Verstappen, but he's making the most out of other drivers/teams falling short.
4327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 19, 2022, 07:22:15 PM
Hey man, piece of advice, if you are taking tips from somebody take them as they are Smiley I am usually putting a lot of thought in my picks when choosing game handicaps and set handicaps. Then I am mixing them cause of turf difference and player serves. Medvedev played as bad as usual on grass this season and it is just a question of his opponent being good enough to use all those gifts.

Berrettini also continued with his good performances and I am considering him as top favorite for Wimbledon this year.

Indeed, the reason I have been taking your tips in tennis on ocassion is your proven rate of hits -- the way I deviate is something of a bad habit. Need to find a way to include them instead of my own picks when doing the famous 5-leg acca from SB. Well done on the straight set win too! Didn't watch it after the first 5 minutes or so, but well worth the bet, and 5/1 is a sweet spot to hit in any case. Let's see if I remember for a final/last 4 outright for Berrettini!
4328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 winner - Real Madrid! on: June 19, 2022, 06:49:31 PM
@Daniel91 Fine, I predict the opposite. Shall we bet $10 on this? Winning team has a Croat, I pay you $10. If not, you pay me $10. In Bitcoin of course. And we can get hahay to arbitrate or ensure we cough up the payment (or to remind us one day), being the most recent checker of the stats haha.

Anyone want to weigh in on Tuesday night's qualifications? Got to be more interesting than most other things on offer.
4329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: June 19, 2022, 05:09:41 PM
Horrible night for predictions, for the most part anyway. However, we've been proper spoiled the last two weeks. I'm not sure what the record is of finishes per card, but surely this one has to be up there? In between the quick knockouts we had some competitive fights. Pretty much exactly what you want when you tune in. I don't there was a bad fight in there. Some pretty dominant performance, but at the same time still being rather entertaining.

I did end up betting, but lost on the first fight with that bloody knee.

Yeah, I think I saw leea mention in one of the other UFC prediction threads it's a record KO for a single card. Did see at least one match got cancelled too, so could have been even higher. Definitely a treat -- unless you're the kind who likes fights that go the distance and/or submission, nothing beats a KO for me though Wink

Didn't bet, but I actually predicted most of the clear favourites, so doubt I even came close to being in the sniff for a prize.
4330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Bitcoin Disappointed You ? on: June 19, 2022, 03:57:09 PM
Who would have thought? Well, I certainly did. I know I couldn't be the only one. Remember, 85%-90% pullback from ATHs is completely possible, completely normal, completely expected.

But that's always some massive scare event to result in that.

At 69k, we only needed just above $10k Bitcoin ATL for that to remain true... and the thing I mentioned several times about price never falling past a previous cycle's ATH -- now it's happened, more people will lose faith, so if the 85% pullback becomes organic, we could see even further battering if we get to that 10-11k range AND we get a scare event.
4331  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your bitcoin ATL prediction before next halving on: June 19, 2022, 03:32:39 PM
Hard to see us breaking past the 2020 low -- that itself was a Black Swan event and we were just seeing $8000 a week before that time, so we'd need to get both those again: trading below $10k AND another massive unexpected shock event. We couldn't possibly be so unlucky, could we?

That said, we're going to see a lot more inflation-fighting measures from fiat nations, and the pricing in of further Fed rate hikes means we're getting more low blows for a bit.

$11k is my vote.
4332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool Discussion thread on: June 19, 2022, 02:20:35 PM
do not follow daily, but did not saw a drop below $10k for BTC?  Grin Grin
nevermind, there was little interest in CL previous season, not sure why, but I don't think that it is going to change this season

maybe it is due to competition that is group based, and then there is not much games, and basically after group stage, you cannot change much, so not that interesting as EPL, or La Liga and Calcio (those having few participants as well)

Was a terrible attempt at a joke, I'm doing my best to be cheerful, and in 2018/19, I always 'pretended' BTC was below 5k, and then of course my heart sank for a time in March 2020 when it actually fell through $4k heh.

So now my psychological mind's putting BTC at $10k. You know, false comfort.

I suppose UCL is different format but funny thing is we actually had 15 participants for Nations League, which is also group stage, and a lot more boring (sorry UEFA).

I'll rummage around myself too and see if we can scrape something, will update if so.
4333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 19, 2022, 01:15:02 PM
Tough luck leea, tennis on accas, been there done that cried the same tears heh.

@Trofo yeah the Djoko case was always weird, but the world's so weird now with everyone trying to make some kind of reputation for themself. Think that one was a cut-and-dried "win votes" move though. Aussies didn't want him in and they saw it as a chance to win popularity.
If you need one risky game for today, I would go for Hurkacz to win 2:0, should be good odds. I have him to cover handicap and as ML @3.0. Never liked Medvedev much and it seems to me he is quite vulnerable and easy to loose nerves at this time of season.

In the other final I feel like Berrettini should have it done in 2 tight sets, so I rather took him as 2:0 then handicap.

Nice one, just took it before match. I think this one seems better value too and to ensure one of us brings home some prize from the bookie, I went for correct score 2:1 to Hurkacz 6.06. was 5/1 for 2:0 so either one looks nifty.

Hurkacz started well on serves, now's just got an ace, but time for me to go watch some other non-sports. Heh

That's all my betting for today, I'm being a good boi saving my BTC for July!

I will definitely look into the Lauda incident for you. Speaking of Lauda, if there is anyone who hasn't watched Rush movie they are definitely missing too much now. You need to watch this movie.

Anything has to be better than Fast and Furious (full disclosure I actually never watched but there's so much meme and trailer content you feel like you can even not watch it and know the series)... the last driving themed movie I really liked was Drive -- 2009 movie maybe? and the soundtrack was incredible!

Looking up Lauda and Rush, didn't know there was a film like this!

When's Hollywood going to do something for modern times I wonder?

@swogerino Haas has indeed impressed. Magnussen won me a few cool points but I also took risk of dropping them this time.
4335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: June 19, 2022, 12:31:12 PM
^ Heh yeah I took the 0-25 on yellows so hit that just almost. It's a sign of the times when we can get 2/4 on a league we probably don't even watch (I follow time to time) and yet get 0/4 for Nations League which should be what we know the most about.

Anyway...

Today and tomorrow are free drop days on Sportsbet. Not 100% sure what the drops are, freebets I guess, so don't forget to check your Rewards tab and/or balance Wink
4336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 19, 2022, 11:08:40 AM
@aoluain at this stage the only thing that'll surprise me about him is if he actually ends a game (win or lose) without an incident. Think sometimes he's even doing it to live up to his reputation

@Joca97 Tsitsi max final agree, Kyrgios I don't even rate him as a final 4.

@Trofo yeah the Djoko case was always weird, but the world's so weird now with everyone trying to make some kind of reputation for themself. Think that one was a cut-and-dried "win votes" move though. Aussies didn't want him in and they saw it as a chance to win popularity.

So for EPL, seems like entry fee is suggested around 2-3 mbtc (which is about $18-27 right now haha), think we should try and gauge expectations for this pool and try to revive it to return to the glory it deserves?

I'll commit to a small share of the prize pot if hilariousandco can confirm we'll get anything, otherwise I also don't mind managing what should be a small pool. I know there are plenty of others willing and able to, but I actually really do like this contest and feel like it should deserve more attention Wink

Liverpool 8/1 to win it last season, so outright was absolute must for me but just over 3/1 this season (what the hell haha), so little value, better to bet on them to win a string of games in group.
4338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: June 18, 2022, 05:25:18 PM
Most commentary and even technical analysis is bullshit. I'd rather have a glass dildo shatter in my arsehole than have to listen to anything Michael Owen has to say. He's one of the most dullest men on the planet.

Ha fair enough. I do enjoy that 'noise' though, specially if it's in a good part of the stadium. Owen really isn't pretty though, was always a choir boy and while Carragher's possibly my all-time favourite Red, I can't really bear listening to him. The banter on Sky sometimes though, I enjoy every now and then. Roy Keane's an idiot half the time and then brilliant another half (nothing to do with the football action of course).

It's probably going to keep falling as well, especially if Celsius goes under which I think is very possible. If they manage to come out of this unscathed I've be very surprised. Lots of people are getting spooked by all these recent events and cashing out into fiat which is obviously having a massive knock on effect and is probably going to get a lot worse before it gets better. The fee will be between £25-£50 regardless though. I messaged jeremypwr about getting confirmation on the sponsorship and free bets so when I hear back I'll get the sign-up thread up and running.

Yeah. It's incredible to read how companies like 3AC are staring down total liquidation when they were as big as it gets. Just goes to show anyone can be successful in a bull market. The list of names of companies going bust is only going to lengthen. There's just this HK firm valued at $3B last month, and just finished raising 80 mill weeks ago, now going bust because BTC dropped 35%? I understand leverage but if they're facing all kinds of spiralling nonsense now makes me wonder just how much gambling these companies really do.

Thanks for taking care of this (and to jeremypwr and Sportsbet, of course).

Think we could tag on a request for Champions League? Qualification starts next week, if you can believe it (qualifying of course, pool group starts September but that's actually little less than 3 months away).

Knew the damned Osaka would lose, and missed out on a freebet by 1 corner (went for 9-10 and they only got Cool. The one 4-3-free I actually felt I knew what I would be doing and I screw it up.

Multimaster, would be sweet to win even second prize, I've gone for "underdog" feel here and so put most of picks as underwhelming (as in, not getting picked so fast).

^Hopes fading for Osaka, but I already stopped looking at her as an option for a while now, ever since the tears came. Feel bad, but yeah, better she just get back regulated before picking up a racquet again for competition.

^^ Kyrgios yeah. I don't know, I keep getting fooled by people, Tsitsi fooled me most recently, now I have no particular favourite darkhorse. Speaking of... just had a bit on enjoyment on ATP, thought Medvedev had a small scare, when he lost the advantage at 3 games each in first set... but after he got the tiebreaker, the outcome was a given.
