4321  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 28, 2022, 12:03:04 PM
Don't quote me but Haaland will probably need a lot of time to get an established place. Reference Werner, Havertz, Pulisic, Lukaku, Sancho, etc.
I'm quoting you, but to back you up. Everyone, you can quote me on this Tongue. I genuinely believe while Haaland will be a good signing for City, he's going to take a bit of getting used to the Premier League, plus he's actually quite injury prone. Reminds me of Aguero in that sense. So, by no means do I think they'll storm the league without any challenge. They might do if we have a bad season, but it won't solely be down to signing Haaland.

Haaland when fit will likely bang them in, and be towards the top of that golden boot, however I still think he won't be the player to get those decisive goals. I do think his introduction will give all the players on the field a boost though.

Glad I'm not the only one thinking of that. And I like the guy, don't get me wrong. Liked Havertz, Sancho, Werner too but the English game does live up to the billing of toughest league to play in -- I used to think it was a bit of an overstatement but the gap between them and the other leagues seems to have only widened in the past 5 seasons. Won't be so apparent in KO formats but when UCL changes to a league format, I have a feeling it will become even more obvious.

Haaland's a beast, but yes, he'll have to play at a higher level so yes, his injury risk could be upped (same as all the other players I mentioned). This is where Liverpool seem to have the upper hand at the time being (remember when Sturridge and Mane were pretty brittle at some point but they somehow found a way to reduce that) -- and we've had amazing recoveries from Elliott and VVD, but I'll pretend we don't have Gomez.

So yeah, City will be better with him, just as they're better with Grealish, but their squad is a little too big to properly give their biggest talents opportunity to grow into games the way they would have at Liverpool (sans one or two of our stars). Arguably the same problem at Chelsea.

Haaland will probably need a lot of time to get an established place. Reference Werner, Havertz, Pulisic, Lukaku, Sancho, etc.
I also hope Haaland will be a victim of the first season curse and underperform like some of the former Bundesliga stars you listed, but, he'll be under Pep, Haaland's dad is familiar with the city of Manchester, sounds like he will adapt very quickly, no? thing is that even if he doesn't adapt to the EPL, City will have the argentinian wonderkid striker Julian Alvarez also arriving this summer. Stacked squad :/

Fair enough, he did go there because of all those friendly face factors, but as I said above, the squad's a bit TOO stacked to give everyone enough playing time. Liverpool finally have a bit of squad depth but even when we have 5 great ones up front, it's a great system since we always play 3 of them, and giving time for one or two to refresh and/or recover. Origi's gone now, so we only have Mina as the fringe player, so it's still guaranteed playing time for all of them.
4322  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +82103 units on: May 28, 2022, 11:31:01 AM
To ensure we don't end the season in negative, I've put almost all the remaining balance of this on to the most value, which is Liverpool to lead by HT. This way, we either come close to break even, or we get a nice bump on the bankroll.
Nice, a big bet to end the season. After that it is only UEFA Nations League anyway and that will be though to predict. I like you bet since Real always started slowly in CL matches and then finished hard. I even think HT win is more likely to hit than FT win.

Is our ticket still alive? I have no idea when some of those games are played Smiley

Yeah, I have a really good feeling about it tonight and I should have put that on our ticket actually (still alive!). 2 legs will be decided by midnight (Brazil game and Liverpool ML), then we still have to sweat on Forest to win EPL promotion in tomorrow's playoff, followed by Scotland in the WC qualifier on Wednesday (I think this was the toughest one).

Would be really cool if it passed!
4323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool Discussion thread on: May 28, 2022, 11:14:31 AM
^ Actually HT win is even better value, you can get it around 2.8/9 at boost on Sportsbet, but I took a fairly good range at 2.7+.

Trofo agreed: Liverpool regular time win is not certain because Real always find a way in the last 15 minutes, but always give up early leads, so I actually think a HT win is far more guaranteed than FT -- and bookies got that wrong IMO.

Anyway Top 5, don't forget your final picks. Points are tight so Top 3 is actually still undecided haha. I still will award the prizes as stated when we created the late season pool:
1st place: 2 mbtc
2nd place: 1.5 mbtc
3rd place: 1 mbtc

And I know we've got plenty of time, but @hilariousandco @hilariousetc shall we plan the next season a bit early and collect fees earlier? I know sponsorship matters but as usual, I wouldn't mind putting a slightly more generous amount if there are no offers, let's say at least 12 mbtc (roughly $350 now), possibly more if Liverpool win this as I had a not-so-tiny amount on a Liverpool outright when odds were close to 9/1.

I'm definitely going to change the sponsor name as I had to give up BitcoinNews.com over a year ago =D

Anyone take that promo up there?

Would probably have, if it were some other prize, spins just never really do it for me, especially if I don't know the value of the spin (or RTP, which anyway doesn't work on such a small sample size).

Nevertheless I do know of you spinmeisters here, so good luck to those that do.

Double your money on Liverpool, by the way. You know I'm right =D
4325  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +82103 units on: May 28, 2022, 08:03:37 AM
@Boristhecat you were right of course, but everything changed only in 5 minutes, as you might have followed. City was at 74th minute and 2-0 down, and my other selections had long flown the coop, Chelsea and Spurs were ahead so early!

But in the end, even a draw wouldn't have sufficed. Sometimes the gods just will it this way, in the most painful journey to the inevitable outcome.

Today marks the final day of the season, and I will somehow end up with a bit of positive on the bankroll, which, given all the terrible outcomes, is not a bad thing. It's the worst season of the 4 so far, but there was always bound to be a negative one wasn't there?

Anyway, final bet for the day is the Champions League final.

To ensure we don't end the season in negative, I've put almost all the remaining balance of this on to the most value, which is Liverpool to lead by HT. This way, we either come close to break even, or we get a nice bump on the bankroll.

800 units at Fairlay on Liverpool to win HT vs Real Madrid @2.73. Other odds: 2.69
Units advantage: 28

Running advantage after 139 bets: +14858 (+28)
All-time cumulative: +82,959
Running units after 138 bets (16W|122L): +838 (-300)

LFC_Bitcoin my man, knew I could count on you making it there to Paris. Hope you're ready for some serious liver assault cause we're taking this home. Only small thing is Ramos isn't in the team, but I read something about Valverde wanting it badly, so let's see if we can't comply.

@notblox1: Not bad! My betbuilder looks like this:

Don't forget your 4-3-free... It's a $200 freebet if you smack it all.

So cool I had freebets to put on them!

Yeah, I'm with coinlocket on this. LeClearc pole and win. As I said before, Monaco stands for everything that says "no surprises". That means, if younger drivers play the role of good boys and don't try to be upstarts, then Positions 1-10 should fairly follow book odds closely.

Plus home crowd backing him. And he's as spongey as Verstappen in lapping up home support.
4328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 27, 2022, 10:05:19 AM
Just checking in to say I got my prize (w00tw00t) so thanks again Captain!

Think the transfer window will leave a lot of teams a lot to chew on. Not sure Liverpool will be as strong next season on all fronts -- the cups were an outlier as we progresses mainly on the back of second stringers who had a hell of a season. No reason to think we won't challenge for the title and Salah/Mane (they'll be here right?) will relish taking on Haaland and Kane and Son and others (Lukaku? haha) for goals.

Don't quote me but Haaland will probably need a lot of time to get an established place. Reference Werner, Havertz, Pulisic, Lukaku, Sancho, etc.

4329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io UEFA Nations League Prediction Pool Discussion Thread on: May 26, 2022, 06:04:07 PM
Done and done, good to see the confirmations come in quick. Will spend weekend a bit easy so can read up a bit too, still not fully certain how this glossy friendly plays out, but I've made a personal Belgium pick to "win" the whole thing but I won't be surprised if teams use experimental squads/formations again to allow an outsider to win. Was ALMOST right on the head with the last one (Netherlands).
4330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Winner: Roma! on: May 26, 2022, 04:59:06 PM
Right, so updated the thread, and with the final results, so we can always look back fondly until the day I die or something and stop updating.

Roma deserved it? Think so. I know I backed Feyenoord all the way but on the night itself, it was Roma on my ticket. Italians didn't do anything special, but the Dutch were horrible with attack as well, so Roma did their job.

Agree slightly with KTChampions, negative football in the league is poor, and if you don't have the budget, it's what you do. But the time for that is over in the top echelons. Conference League maybe where attrition football goes to retire.

tokes man you seem to be falling off the gambling map or I don't see you any longer in the same active threads.
Maybe he lost some money gambling and he needed to recover from his loses, or he is just busy with other things in life.  Cheesy
I think that he is regular in MMA topics and conversations, but I can't force him to participate in all competitions for free bets and rewards.

Speak for yourself though, I want that 10k Wink
I reserved them before you bro, so 10k is mine  Cheesy
Thanks Fortunejack for great fun Majestic7 promotion, and I can't wait to see what's coming next.

yeah I miss his wayward passes in EPL pool, gotta mix it up with mine so I don't look like worst idiot in these threads all of the time (thankfully others have stepped in to fill his considerable shoes).

Jackmate's always awesome, fewer glitches and bugs and stuff over the seasons. Really need to smash that one open in the new season, don't mind if they do something for WC too.

@toke I'm hardly in the regular ones too (the UCL is a bit better than PL one but I get what you mean). The pools threads are clean though? The mods do their jobs but it's a lost battle on some megathreads I agree.

hahay, tokeweed, Joca97, slaman29, darxiaomi, rdbase, leea-1334 get your asses in here Wink

League A means top16 European national teams, that are divided in four groups, with four participants each
there are also League B, C and D (which does not comprise 16 teams, than less, since we do not have 64 countries in Europe, if I recall correctly)

Just saw that thanks, but damn, that's only 16 teams and I still see good value in watching many of the teams in B and C now I have checked who they are... I mean, I practically followed Georgia the whole campaign last year (they won me good money too odds were so good). Haaland was in league C... I mean damn, but okay superbru you made it easy for us.

But fine, League D is where I draw the line heh

@CLS63: Yeah, Turkey. They won me some memorable games (most recent favourite I watched against France) and I always feel like the odds are great value on them even the past 2 years but they've been a huge letdown. I don't get it. So much talent all over Europe in the big leagues, and then national team still overlooks them all or maybe I'm just seeing Turkish names on jerseys but they're not Turk nationals I suspect?

4333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: May 25, 2022, 05:42:56 PM
Yeah, from what I gather, Monaco's the prestige but it's really just a place to show off what you got with the most familiar conditions, no surprises, and textbook track.

In other words, hug the book margins making these picks, unless you expect a new driver to try and make his mark.

I have to go with Monaco's son here this round though.
4334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Final! on: May 25, 2022, 03:49:56 PM
Funny thing for this final,Albania said becauee of the final they will make it a National day in Albania every year just because they host the final. They are really proud because they can host the tournament final for the first time in its history. Also the stadium only allows i think a little over 20k capacity so that is really low

Feel good factor all over, I can understand why the pride, some history with UEFA and all that. 20k does seem a bit low for Rome and Rotterdam fans though, as it's going to be massive for them. Long weekend holiday in Netherlands so I know there will be a throng of people headed there. The Italians I know doesn't matter which day it is, they'll be turning up.

Some good curtainraiser for the Champions League final in Paris!
4335  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: May 25, 2022, 02:44:23 PM
I didn't do the pick again.  Lol.  And it wouldn't have made a difference anyway...  And I won like three of them during the first three months of the season then I kinda lost interest when I didn't win for a couple of weeks and was playing on and off since then.  Next season I'll see to it that I play all the match days.  Seems like a waste of opportunity.

It would be nice to have the Majestic 7 for all the top leagues next season.  I don't mind removing the 10k for it and just play for the free bets.

tokes man you seem to be falling off the gambling map or I don't see you any longer in the same active threads.

Definitely a waste of opportunity but even I have been missing out here and there on promos. Some weeks I do them all, others I get so occupied my brain forgets an entire gameweek has ended.

Speak for yourself though, I want that 10k Wink

Greetings to you too Tornike, who're you supporting for WC?
4336  Economy / Economics / Re: What happens if BTC's price falls to $8,000? on: May 25, 2022, 10:57:06 AM
It would be a significant opportunity to build back of course,
I agree, it is a great discount if price falls back to $8000 considering the ability of the Bitcoin market to bounce back and recover to breaking series of ATH.

It's a great discount now. $8000 would be a remarkable steal. I just wonder if there's enough in the bank to break $100,000 and stay above that. The lowering ATH magnitudes say no, but then a six-figure US value would be something of a huge psychological gain, the FOMO after that may very well sustain prices above and beyond, so yeah, getting in at $8000 BTC would be nothing short of a market coup.
4337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: May 25, 2022, 09:21:07 AM
@Trofo @rdbase what? they advertise buwaytress on radio? How come I never heard it  Grin

20 mbtc was 1000 euros back then when you won? And now only something less than 600 euro. How time flies for us all in crypto world,,, but it does not matter. I think I still put my standard sports bet at 0.15 mbtc back last year until now.

Weirdly I have more and more USDT in my account from freebets. over $120 so far!!

Funnily enough, I've never heard it myself except for the one session after it happened. God awful voice, hated how I sound and now it's playing every time heh. Some other forum member has got to win and replace that!

but yes, it was 20 mbtc, which I converted soon after to almost exactly 1000 euros, and got myself a new laptop (which ended up for someone else) but it was Black Friday and got a really nice discount on a new model so made someone really happy.

^USDT freebets I get from 4-3-free also. Also have expiry dates of 3 days.

Of course I'm in! Thank you Trofo, sportsbet, Steve, for this, as usual.

Hands up I've no idea what this League A means, so will check that out later (I have a slight recollection of the past campaign supporting countries like Georgia I believe in Group E then) but not sure why they haven't included lower leagues, I mean, why not?

Anyway, stop whining and stop procrastinating guys, don't force me to PM the same bunch of guys for La Liga and Serie A =p
4340  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC -85% FROM ATH IN NOVEMBER..... on: May 25, 2022, 06:13:25 AM

One argument that this is different though is that the supercycle seems to be over. We've seen ATH of 100 times the previous, then 15 times the previous, and now only 3 times the previous. That could also signal an end to the extreme dip.

Can you just explain this?

My rough memory estimates:

Lazlo to 2010: 1 cent to $1 - 100 times
to 2011 ATH $30 - 30 times
1250 (2013 ATH) to 19800 (2017 ATH) is roughly 15 times
20k (2017 ATH) to 68k (2021 ATH) is roughly 3.5 times. This is the end of supercycle to me, so possibly also the end of extreme dip.

I think the major problem is the complexity of Bitcoin, simply put we need to dumb it down a little bit, without compromising security. It's possible, since fiat has done it. Fiat is complex, yet most people don't understand it, but keep using it. We need to achieve that level of trust, and simplicity with Bitcoin.

I believed this almost as soon as I started using Bitcoin myself. My partner got her very first BTC in March this year, from a Bitcoin ATM. So different experience from when I got my first in 2016 (ignoring that I had some faucets and casino accounts earlier). App was downloaded and installed in minutes, payment and QR code scanned, but it was still a bit too complicated she said.

I do agree we really need to move away from pointless mantra-signalling like "it's not on-chain, so it's not Bitcoin" or even "not your keys not your coins", which only alienates potential users.

I believe Bitcoin hasnt fallen below previous ATH's post halving, the last post halving
was December 2017 > $20,000

After the big pullback from the 2017 ATH the price didnt go near the previous ATH of 2013!
so maybe this will be the case this year and into 2023.

Very true but we've also never had an ATH so close to the previous one. All bets are off.
