4341  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hey newbies and everyone, how much btc do you have? on: July 04, 2015, 08:50:14 PM
i have a few BTC, i woulda had more if i didnt fall for a scam like a dumbass
however i wont make that mistake again

The sad part is scams are all too prevalent around here. It's both the good and the bad of being decentralized.

Thanks  Wink

you are right, I read that for FB + Twitter post. Sent you 4k more.
But I just received  3000 bits ,Is not it supposed to be 7000 bits  ?

You showed that he sent you 3k. He just sent you 4k. 3+4=7k. So yes, it should be 7k, and it IS 7k.
True, for the OP I asked what happened
Thanks Grin

And he already answered that (in fact, you quoted his answer). He read it as being a FB+Twitter post, rather than a FB+Blog post.

Why quote his post if you're not even going to read it? =/

heem, I need to fix the script again. Undecided
I will change it to maintenance mode for a while..

Maybe you should lower the reward if its hard to maintain. Its better to give low reward then keeping faucet empty. Best of luck!

yes, I have lower my faucet rate and decrease the time..

Have an ETA on when it should be back up? I still have it in my rotator but may need to disable it for a while.

So, I have a medium Priority transaction that is not confirming, I know I have to wait but just wanted to know if this is happened to any of you and how long have you actually waited?...

I have read that it can take up to a week if you dont pay any fees, but I did, I paid the normal fee that Electrum charges me and it was always fine, only this time it is "medium priority"

Anywayz, here is the transaction: https://blockchain.info/tx/ca044196bde76b52dc49f3f3b4d3f4c1ae493d92fa4f5b45dd35ec1ca9fbc33a

Thanks!

To answer this question (I know it has been confirmed now), you really need 0.0002 BTC in fees to be competitive. Most places use 0.0001 BTC or higher. When you go lower than 0.0001, I believe it's almost the equivalent to not adding any fees at all (i.e., sending the transaction with NO fees). That said, they will still confirm, once it's gotten to the point where its age has brought it to a more "desirable" state.
It depends on the size of the transaction and network load. 0.00001/kb is fine for non urgent transactions while 0.0001/kb is better for fast transactions. However, the network load can still affect the confirmation speed seen from the recent stress test and most people had to pay 0.0002BTC/kb to get fast confirmations.

I specifically stated to remain competitive. Stating that I'm wrong and then bringing up costs for less important transactions means you didn't read my post. If you don't need it confirmed quickly, that transaction is less of a priority and therefore you don't need competitive fees. No crap. You don't need ANY fees in this case.

That is not true. Even if the coin age is high, some miners may not include your transaction if it has no fees because it decrease their profit.

I run that as a test every couple months. I've yet to have an issue with it -- they usually confirm within 3 blocks.

Edit: this isn't to say it won't be an issue in the future, though. But with the increasing block sizes and such on the horizon, I don't think it will be.

Did he say he sent yet? Hint: he didn't. So of course you haven't gotten anything. Quit being impatient.

i will keep my eyes to this thread waiting for next update from you OP and i hope still any chance to me try this free packages

I doubt there will be any more. There's no incentive. Like 20 of us have gotten ours, and it's been 100% positive responses for weeks. Giving out more freebies won't do any good for them.

Thank you all who respected the free package rules so far. Some users have not and I will deactivate their services.

We are planning to post another contest in the following days.

NP! I noticed a lot of people going way past the 7 days, so I followed suit with that as well, Smiley.

What does the daily interest rate work out to?
From the screen capture on $25 worth of btc he received $0.01 worth in 5 days.
After the promotion period ends, what will the interest rate be? Will it be variable or fixed as it is now at 2.18% until 2016?

Daily interest rate would be 0.0216/365=0.000592%
4351  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coinbase - charge? on: July 04, 2015, 07:44:04 AM
Hmm...i have recently exchange Bitcoins for Dollars on Coinbase and i did not pay any flat fee, only variable fee of 1%.
https://support.coinbase.com/customer/portal/articles/585625-what-is-coinbase-and-how-much-does-it-cost-to-use-

A guy said that he buy Bitcoin every monday for his cigarette money Wink

That made me wonder what coinbase charges for selling for $5?

Is buying in so small lots really feasible?

It's a flat fee + variable fee. The flat fee alone is $0.30. IMO, it's best to buy in increments of at least $20 (that puts the fee at like 5% of the total), with more being better.

Awesome news. They changed it. It used to be flat-fee + variable. Looks like they still charge flat-fee on small transactions, though, but aren't adding on the variable fee anymore so it's good:

"** For US Customers, orders less than $15 are charged a flat fee of $0.15"

Thanks for the heads-up!
4352  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] Mellow Ads - simple, bitcoin advertising - advertise from 0.001BTC per day on: July 04, 2015, 07:23:18 AM
Why would they ban a faucet with content even after a manual review if it fits in their terms?

Sites with no content DON'T fit in their ToS. People are just too stupid to actually read them, :p.

In fact, sites built for the sole purpose of affiliate links are ALSO against their ToS. Unless they have a heavy amount of ORIGINAL content.

None of this is a secret. It's been this way for many years. People just refuse to actually read the ToS and/or ask AdSense themselves, and instead just assume they can do whatever they want and nothing will happen.
4353  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] Mellow Ads - simple, bitcoin advertising - advertise from 0.001BTC per day on: July 04, 2015, 06:43:23 AM
I think it's 3 per visible part of the page, if the page is scrolling down you can add 4th and so on. Also, I've always wondered how sites like Moonbit.co.in has 6 adsense units and they are obviously paying them?

It's 3 total. Now, there are a couple tricks:

1) You can use multiple accounts (not "allowed," but you can sometimes get away with it until you get caught)
2) Some networks are allowed to use multiple. For example, I work directly with a network that has a special agreement with AdSense, such that I can run 3x AdSense on my account + up to 5 from the network account, for 8 total

Most people just fraudulently (or... break the ToS) in the hopes they won't get caught. As you'll learn from a quick search, some faucets got banned from AdSense due to a lack of content, and others got away with it. It just depends on when the manual review comes into play. You can be guaranteed, however, that when manual review DOES come, anyone running AdSense on their faucets WILL be permanently banned and all funds forfeited. People just hope they can earn enough money to get paid before that occurs.

Aaand the fight starts..

In his defense, he admitted he was scamming users before (which removed any doubt that it was an error in coding). Doesn't make it right, though.

Back to the topic - even adsense does not have a limit of 3 even per page, and we discuss a limit per site no? If I want to place different adpsaces on different pages what, I'll be limited to 1 per page?

AdSense DOES have a limit on ads per page (3). If you have more than that, it shouldn't be loading any past the first three that are pinged to the server. If it does, they are known to ban accounts when it's time to get paid.

5 is too small, thats 2 on the sides and one center or something.. that's nothing. 10 seems good, but maybe you can make some kind of a poll so that we can vote?

No 10 is just too much, 3-5 max should be the limit
<5 would be a waste of the great platform. If 10 is too big, maybe 7 - two on each side, one top, one bottom, one center is a good combination.

But we can't talk for everyone that's why either they should just state the rule, or make a poll and see more opinions.

The issue here is every site is different. I've seen some sites that were just fine with 2-3. Others had 10+ and they still weren't noticeable. Using a rule for everyone just doesn't work.
I have only 6 ads and it's 3x 200x200 on each side so it looks like 2 ads.. just check it http://winbits.us Smiley I think it's ok and I'm happy that this platform is here ( after Bitmedia.io has started scamming ).

Funny you bring up Bitmedia.io scamming, when you're the one that kept claiming users were getting 1000 satoshi (and even verified that claim after they put in the captcha) and were actually just sending 1...

I just noticed my previous raffle tickets get deducted from my account is that any kind of bug, because last time i have more than 50 tickets left there but now it shows only 7 there what happened to my account, is anyone other facing this problem like me with remaining raffle tickets?

They change the raffle system so that only bet >100 satoshi counts and if you have not submitted your tickets for the last raffle it will be cut by 90 % leaving only 10 %. Read the info at the last page for more info of this tickets

In light of these changes, we converted raffle-tickets which were not submitted to 10% of the leftover amount, so you had 1000 raffle tickets left after after the last draw, you now have 100 raffle tickets left.

Fairest way for new people to have a shot at the raffle same thing on my account. At least they let us carry any over at all I think is good.

The other thing to keep in mind is that it has a net-zero effect. Let's say:

You have 100 tickets and I have 400. I have 80% chance and you have 20%
We're shaved to 10%
You now have 10 tickets and I have 40. I have 80% chance and you have 20%

So even though we have less tickets, it has no real effect on the lottery chances (for the PAST), it just affects going forward, which is fair.
