4341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why are most bounties managed by New accounts? on: February 07, 2019, 06:47:36 PM
Because new accounts are cheap to make and can be discarded if anything goes wrong. New accounts don't have to be scammers but usually if someone appears on the forum and tries to offer you a deal he's planning to take advantage of you.

Start asking them to escrow deals and you'll be safe.
4342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if designer handbags were 80% off? Your gf would... on: February 07, 2019, 06:40:27 PM
Most of those bags are made in China and there's so many fakes out there it's getting very difficult to spot a real one. I'm not buying everything out there because it has a -80% tag on it.
I'm also not buying Bitcoin now because I have enough of it and not much fiat in my wallet. I'm ready to wait another year for a bull market but what if I buy with all my fiat money and have to beg for food while waiting for high prices?
4343  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Bearish or Bullish? Here my thoughs on: February 07, 2019, 06:32:14 PM
I agree with d5000 that transaction value and exchange trading volume aren't strictly bearish indicators.
If we assume the number of people in the space in 2019 is the same as in 2018 many of those people sold in this bear market and are now waiting to go back in with their fiat so there's no transaction volume and no volatility. Whoever was thinking about selling sold and is waiting for bullish patterns to show. 2015 was a very similar year.
4344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BCH Price To Touch 2000 USD by 2019 End on: February 07, 2019, 06:13:46 PM
Touch $2000 by 2019 end, I think that not will happen. $1000 may still be realistic for BCH at the end of 2019.

Even 1000 is too much for this shitcoin. If Bitcoin goes up it will take BCH with it because this is how this strange market works. When Bitcoin pumps everything with the name Bitcoin in it pumps with it even worthless coins with no acceptance like BCH and its fork.
I think BCH will linger on because it's using Bitcoin's name. Many people still can't see the difference.
4345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The next bull run and stability on: February 06, 2019, 10:32:26 PM
I can't predict when bitcoin will start it's recovery but I think that it won't be in this year. Maybe at the end of 2019 we will se the small growth before the main bullrun in 2020 or 2021.

I'm very positive because we are already in the longest bear market in history and at an average correction of 85% which is normal for Bitcoin. We can see that the market is pretty much dead with people leaving crypto to wait for another bull run. This is a good sign of ending bear market.
I think that we'll see signs of reversing market this year and start to climb up next year.
4346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Now or never! on: February 06, 2019, 10:24:54 PM
Definetly it is a prosper time to make your buys and build a nice crypto wallet... . The most important thing to do after you secure your buys is to secure your wallet and preserve the private key in a way that you cannot loose them....this is what I have learned as a crucial part to secure your crypto investments.
Many users of cryptocurrency have already seen that their cryptocurrency tools are increasingly threatened with theft. Constant hacking of hackers cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets, make cryptocurrency One of the most dangerous investments Well, if you look through the prism of the security of their funds.

You're looking at it the wrong way. Cryptocurrency is not vulnerable because of exchanges. Exchanges are private and by using them you are risking your coins that would otherwise be safe!
Nobody is making you hold money on exchanges. If you are doing it you are responsible for the losses. Cryptocurrencies are fine it's just that people are stupid.
4347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins to invest in for a beginner on: February 06, 2019, 10:20:11 PM
First and foremost you should have some bitcoins. It doesn't matter how much money you got at least half of your portfolio should be bitcoin. Once you got that you can think about altcoins and the more well known the better. Most new coins are scams or pump and dump schemes. You can get lucky or you can lose everything. Bitcoin is one of the coins that are destined to rise again and if it goes up it will take all top altcoins up with it.
4348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you have a reason to stay? on: February 06, 2019, 06:12:32 PM
I'm not reluctant to invest and I have a reason to stay. I don't understand people who are afraid to put their money into something that lost 85% of its value. What's the worst thing that can happen? It will lose another 5%? We all know it will never go to 0 and chance of it going below 1000 is so small I wouldn't bet on it.  Bitcoin is an incredible gift to humanity and I only hope we will appreciate it.
4349  Economy / Speculation / Re: Proof MtGox Dumping Caused Bear Market Alleged on: February 06, 2019, 06:07:49 PM
The good thing in all of this is that we are still mopping the floors from all that old shit. Gox, rich early investors like Roger Ver who sold to pay for mining of his own shitcoin, faketoshi who paid for his coin with his Bitcoins, small exchanges that didn't know what a cold wallet is. In time Bitcoin will mature enough for such things never to happen again.
4350  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [2019-02-06] Locked bitcoins in QuadrigaCX might be another exit scam. on: February 06, 2019, 05:52:54 PM

Regarding whether he actually died or not, of course we can't be 100% sure, but here's what is said in the Jennifer Robertson Affidavit uploaded by Coindesk to scribd:

She's obviously lying. If he really submitted his will a week before his actual death there's high probability they were talking about death with his wife and that he told her about private keys.
I think they are blaming it on the dead man because it can't hurt him in his grave and taking all the money.
4351  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-02-02]Amazon Might Have to Issue a Cryptocurrency Soon on: February 06, 2019, 05:45:15 PM
Because of demand. I struggle to believe that Zhao doesn't realize this - I suspect he is just being deliberately facetious.

Take Amazon as an example. Amazon is ubiquitous. It already has an enormous market share all over the world. How much do you think their profits would increase if they started accepting crypto. Sure, some people, maybe even quite a lot of people, would move from paying in fiat to paying in crypto, but how many new customers who have never used Amazon before would start using Amazon solely because they started accepting crypto. Not many.

Now think about how much effort it would take for Amazon to integrate crypto payments - everything front the front-end development right through to the new regulations and tax paperwork, some of which barely exists in many countries. It would be a huge undertaking for very little monetary gain, and after all, these private companies are first and foremost interested in profit.

But we can't deny the positive aspects. Crypto payments would allow people from poor countries who are afraid of using their local currencies to order stuff from Amazon. The problem is they aren't that global yet and there are many shipping restrictions. I found out multiple times that I either had to pay more for something to be shipped to my country or that it's unavailable for shipment for whatever reason. Usually because they aren't shipping big items worldwide.
4352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please DON'T pay any taxes on your crypto! on: January 31, 2019, 07:11:57 PM
So what I hear you saying is: "Please everyone, pleeeease lie, and on top of morally compromising yourself, also take on the risk of whatever punishment the government may decide to inflict on you for not paying your taxes, if they find out."

No thank you.
Have a good day,
The Cyberius team.
Yeah it's a dumb call for theft and immorality.

The government likes to call people who aren't paying taxes thieves because it considers your hard earned money its money.
The taxpayers like to call the government a thief because it takes away money that it did not help earn.

Who in this case is immoral? Is preventing a thief from stealing your money immoral, or maybe by stealing from a thief you also become one?
4353  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-01-30] Gemini Passing SOC-2 Examination a Step Towards Bitcoin ETF Approva on: January 31, 2019, 06:52:51 PM
Cboe ETF has that custody solution and will be the first to get approved when the government deals with this shutdown problem.

You may have missed the information that VanEck SolidX Trust withdrawn their application, and that they need to apply again in future. But the process for considering the application is up to 8 months/240 days long, so chance for any BTC ETF approval this year is very small, or better to say fairly unrealistic.
USA government shutdown actually did not change anything, proposal from Cboe ETF (VanEck SolidX Trust) would have been denied anyway. It will take another 2-3 years at best to ETF be approved to someone, and it is not such a bad thing - less manipulations with price will allow many to buy more coins at fairly low price.

I know about it. They withdrew to reapply after the government shutdown because they expected the ETF will get rejected and the reason given will be the shutdown that prevented the SEC from analysing the case. They couldn't find a reason to reject it last year so they would blame it on the shutdown.
If they apply by the end of March there's still enough time for it to go through this year.
The shutdown changed a lot because it gave the SEC a reason to deny it. They've been looking for such reason for many months. If they wanted to deny it just like that they would have done it much earlier.
4354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICOs false marketing is destructive. ICOs must provide real & honest values on: January 31, 2019, 06:44:24 PM
There are 3 most common types of ICO.
With code copied from another coin and renamed.
Scams that promise stuff they aren't planning to deliver.
Those that start good and devs have great plans but somewhere along the way they fail or get discouraged and abandon the project.

90% of these things exist only because people are greedy.
4355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: On merchants not willing to accept crypto on: January 31, 2019, 06:35:00 PM
There are many reasons why people aren't spending Bitcoin. Like why would someone who is at a loss spend his coins in a bear market?

Actually, this is a good reason

As you can either sell them and book losses or spend them and then not have that feeling of being a complete loser having to close a losing position. Well, ultimately it is still six of one and half a dozen of the other, but in the latter case you won't feel yourself that low. And you can always buy back when the price goes lower and feel like a winner

Trying to fish for the bottom is a terrible idea. It's like joining a black friday crowd to fight over who gets to that huge flat screen first. People who are selling and waiting for it to go back up usually are the same people who buy and wait for it to reach +1000%.

Why would you feel like a loser when the price is down? I wouldn't because I know it's a temporary situation and I wouldn't sell at a loss.

If you got cheap Bitcoin and they are worth 10 times more now it's very difficult to find something you want to spend them on. If I had a million dollars in cryptocurrency now I wouldn't spend because I don't need anything expensive right now. What am I gonna buy? A thousand pizzas or 5 thousand coffees?

That's because you don't have a million dollars in cryptocurrency. Or, maybe, it is the exact reason why you don't have so much in the first place

I don't have a million because I come from a poor family and couldn't invest a lot even if I wanted to. For the same reason I'm not a spender who wastes money on unimportant things. Life taught me to value money and I understand and support people who see the true value behind Bitcoin and are holding.
4356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP market cap manipulation? on: January 30, 2019, 11:10:36 PM
Almost every single project cap is overestimated and total market cap is not that correct at all. I won't be surprised if more than 50% is fake. In my opinion it's the global problem, not only XRP.

It is and all this hype is based on their future acceptance that they are promising to achieve. XRP is not a new coin. It had years to make deals with banks and merchants and it did nothing. Some say that Bitcoin also didn't do much but Bitcoin isn't a company. It's not paying for promotion and it doesn't have a board of directors who take care of business deals. XRP is using some of its coin supply to pay for advertising and to pay wages of Ripple employees. Ask Garlinghouse how much he's earning every month.
4357  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-01-30] Gemini Passing SOC-2 Examination a Step Towards Bitcoin ETF Approva on: January 30, 2019, 10:58:22 PM
Why can't they establish their own trust? Why do they need a third party custody solution?

The SEC will not allow a company that is running an exchange to launch an ETF and hold funds because it's a vulnerability. I can only speculate that a small exchange like theirs could manipulate their profits from ETF by changing prices on the exchange and it would be pretty profitable because if they get ETF approval it will become worth at least ten times more than their exchange. They are trading only 10 million USD in BTC a day. 9 times less than Binance.
What happens if somebody hacks their exchange? It's much safer to allow a third party to store their coins when they are dealing with daily traffic on their exchange and need to keep hot wallets there. All hot wallets are ticking bombs
4358  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-1-27]Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak Declares He Sold All His BTC Holdings on: January 30, 2019, 07:35:00 PM
I remember an article that I read a long time ago, where someone asked why "BARONESS MICHELLE MONE" called himself a crypto expert when she only recently had contact with crypto.

Why the hell the news channels worry about what Steve Wozniak did with his bitcoin? The crypto community is too big to be afflicted with the guesses, actions and opinions of just one person

In this space everyone is an expert. Check out some of those youtubers who do TA and stuff. All of them talk like they're some kind of experts and they know what is going to happen with Bitcoin and how long the bear market is going to last. Most of these people started their channels in the last bull market and this is the first Bitcoin cycle they're seeing.
When you're rich you your self esteem rises to the point where you become an expert on everything you touch. The best jokes are made of rich people talking about the financial situation of the poor.
4359  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-01-30] Gemini Passing SOC-2 Examination a Step Towards Bitcoin ETF Approva on: January 30, 2019, 07:20:45 PM
They won't get the approval because they don't have a good custody solution. If they keep trying to make ETF based on their own exchange happen it's not gonna happen. It's just that simple. Cboe ETF has that custody solution and will be the first to get approved when the government deals with this shutdown problem.
I still think that we don't need this ETF or any other wall street intervention to end the bear market.
4360  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-01-29]Fidelity to launch bitcoin custody service in March on: January 30, 2019, 07:04:31 PM
Nice. More hopium for the moon boys to see Bitcoin cross $10k this year. But the sentiment doesn't change that much though, maybe it will require more than just news before the pump can happen.

I wonder how long will they got delayed like Bakkt, or ETF. Hopefully, the market will mature enough and won't move when they announce the delay of the launch.

It has to change at some point. When we were seeing 10000 dollars there were people saying the same thing about the bears. That they missed the boat and are hoping for cheap coins but there's no cheap coins coming but it took only weeks for the price to double and reverse. We could be seeing a big spike at any moment.
