4341  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Venezuela, a fable about socialism. Part 1/2 on: August 18, 2018, 01:01:21 AM
a socalism of that way is doomed to fail. chinese or soviet socialism/european was very different it was focused on the development of value sources, even if not very efficient.

Soviet socialism was much like Venezuelan and even worse... rampant corruption, completely distorted market, totalitarian oppression, massive propaganda to keep the population in the dark and in constant fear of imaginary enemies. Propped up by enormous natural resources and still managed to collapse.

I don't know much about China but it seems to be embracing a lot more of the capitalist perks and it has far outlived the Soviet Union so they must be smarter than Chavez or Stalin.

soviet socialism was constantly busy building weapons protecting itself from imperialists in the usa.

us capialism is currently also collapsing since its constantly abusing the masses of the population. by a small elite sitting in the central banks
4342  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Venezuela, a fable about socialism. Part 1/2 on: August 17, 2018, 11:46:44 PM
Pure "capitalism" or "socialism" or "communism" doesn't exist anywhere. Even NorK has "entrepreneurs" trying to survive under the brutally oppressive regime, and on the other hand an idealistic libertarian society can't exist because poor people dying on the streets would smell really bad after a while so the state is forced to take some action to provide basic safety net and other social(ist) services.

However a nearly-failed authoritarian regime like Venezuela does come very close to pure capitalism... except the remnants of the regime are distorting the market with stuff like cheap gas and free subway.

Thanks for the write-up MbyzIco.

the point here is that he labels venezuala as socialist, but its not socialist, in its organisational form,

venezuelas mistake was that is just distributed its earnings from oils instead of investing them to develop income sources for the population structuring their economy, in the long term

we have a similar problem in the developed west today, because established property owners of income sources have no desire for the rest of the population being able to obtain income sources they want cheap and needy salary slaves. they even tear down income sources like real estate to increase the prices limit the supply so the population that works for money is even more imprisioned.

chaves thought short term, and maduro and his military tops think even more short term, they give a damn about the majority of the population and try to survive somehow.

a socalism of that way is doomed to fail. chinese or soviet socialism/european was very different it was focused on the development of value sources, even if not very efficient.

socialism was created because there was large scale abusal of the working population beforehand. the united states never had to be socialist as it had an abundance of ressources that europe never had, europe always was forced to ship them in needing soldiers, armies etc.

4343  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Project opinions on: August 17, 2018, 09:45:31 PM
If to develop new currency, which algorithm offers fastest transaction time, stability, and most flexibility to develop POW/POS/MN wallets?

look technology matters increasingly less.

there are many quite forminadable encription plattforms like waves. or ethereum out there

no one wil care about that. people will in the long term care about the product that is supposed to be delivered

Thanks.  Absolutely agree, which will be why the focus of the project is real-world usability and functionality that bridges the gaps (I'm not looking to recreate all the bells and whistles that tech will solve like lightning network, atomic swaps, etc. but more interested in smart contract capability, multi-sig, nodes of various type, etc.  With that said, if the goal requires fast transactions and ability to build various levels of functionality, the platform does matter since a bitcoin based project will have slow transaction times compared to say- waves.  Right?  Does platforms like waves, cardano, etc. provide the ability to create POS or MNs on coins built on them?

you know what the biggest mistake of you programmers is?

you still think that technology actually will matter in the long term defining the value of a currency and only the encription is the money, but the reality is different the market has evolved during all human ages those encripton services. what where once the metal coin minters, then later the paper money printers, are today the encription plattforms/services like ethereum, waves etc.

over the ages the meaning/essence of the certification (metal) to paper certification and signature to the IT-encription made the technologic basis more and more insignificant and the promise what the ressources that are being taken in exchange for that money became more and more important.

with time the encription plattforms will evolve such a high quality, regarding their encription and efficiency regarding the transaction costs just look at waves 1000 transactions cost less than 2 euros.
but also their speed and security,

that people wont care about the technology anymore but will care about the usage what it stands for. is it a debt? what do i promote by accepting that money?

so if you want to earn money just with the technology i recommend you join a plattform team, like waves, ethereum, stellar. they are modern day equivalents of former money or metal coin minters, and printers. or try creating your own plattform. there are anyway comming up more and more but without meaningful users, you wont have a chance on the market.

and put your ideas into it. and develop that encription plattform and its technology. a coin alone just because of meaningless tech perfectionism, like dash, zcash, bcash, will soner or later be overtaken by the evolving encription services.

no one will care later about the technological coin like its currently the case with bitcoin, bitcoin cash, zcash, or dash. because the encription plattforms will simply overtake those coins sooner or later anyway. as they will continously upgrade and improve their technology.

4344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Project] I.C.O Crypto Millionaires on: August 17, 2018, 08:14:11 PM
Looking for any advice, questions, volunteers or partners regarding setting up I.C.O as quick as possible

We are a group of 3 crypto multi multi millionaire investors with our founder heavily invested in Bitcoin since 2011... This I believe gives us a huge advantage and the founders track record proves this..

He has correctly predicted

BTC to $20,000 when bitcoin was around $70

Dark/Dash to $1000 at 50 cents

Ethereum around 80 cents in his words 'the only coin that can compete and come close to bitcoins market cap'.

XRP to 1$ from the beginning although he never invested in XRP..

The reason for wanting to create this I.C.O is that we feel community has become tainted, although since bitcoins existence there has always been scammers, pump an dump groups like Fontas and Wolong but the general atmosphere still seemed more community driven and generous to help each other thrive with a rebellious streak to the establishments. If anybody remembers these times please feel free to comment......Now this space seems full of youtube twitter scam artists being paid to promote scams to rip off their followers, inside trading, groups of large net individuals plotting and planning pump and dump scams, infested with I.C.O scams basically stealing billions of dollars with 60% becoming worthless within 6 months. This is extremely damaging to cryptocurrencies reputation and new investors including potential future investors.

Bitcoin is starting to become everything we were against.

We are looking to create an I.C.O to raise $3,000,000 that will be used to build a community and make them wealthy we will work together to bring prosperity to our community. We have a unique idea that will not only bring profits to coin holders we will also reduce coin supply in ways never done before and expect 50% of supply to be burned within 2 years and a lot of millionaires made... The majority of funds will be used to trade cryptocurriences and we expect our net assets to be worth around one billion dollars around this time 2021 as hard as this may be to believe we actually think its a modest timeframe as we are confident it would be a lot sooner (see below)... Most I.C.O are promises of something that doesn't exist yet. A lot of these billionaire dollar market caps had only raised tens of millions thats all they are worth. thats why so many crashed and the billions of dollars went into a select few pockets. When our market cap hits a billion dollars we will have a billion dollars in assets.

The idea has passed around by our founder previously, but as a very private and now busy person he wants to remain anonymous.. We needed to prove it can be done so in march 2017 we purchased 1 bitcoin around $1200 solely for the reason of turning it to one million dollars and around 9 months later that one bitcoin was worth over $800,000. We have all the coin purchase orders to prove this.. it has since been cashed out and given to a children's charity by the founder with no mention of bitcoin.

How it was done

trading via poloniex within one month it was around $10,000 then around $20,000 in july we then start to deposit into binance where we brought 8000 BNB coin under a dollar $20 dollars was our sale target and 5000 WTC around 60 cents with a target sale of $50 but we sold most around $35 then then TRX the quickest and biggest profits brought in at 17 sats and sold around 1500 sats...(we also traded numerous shit coins that are now worthless but all made us a profit) This can all be proved and will be put together on medium but it will take time to gather and sort through all these orders and exchanges so please be patient as this was just a last minute draft for some advice and questions as we proceed through creating this I.C.O..

our ambition is to become a large anonymous decentralised hedge with a loyal respected even secretive community that will be achieved by making them extremely prosperous as numbers are always an extreme advantage, we can achieve so much more together than alone.

I have intentionally not released many details regarding the I.C.O but open to any questions and interest from anyone that would like to be involved.... Please ignore the grammar this was a rushed last minute decision post.

then why dont you hire consensys, its a plattform for billionaires millionaires and moneyprinting central banksters to find idiots to continue to enrich them.
4345  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Venezuela, a fable about socialism. Part 1/2 on: August 17, 2018, 07:47:29 PM
actually this isn't socialism its also capitalism, the capital is your beloved bolivares, your capital is your central bank in venezuela. socialism is a concept of human behavior. if venezuelans dont want to work their infrastracture and destroy it through bitcoin mining they are absolutely the opposite of being socialist to each other.

you venezuelans forget that the capitalism of the united states i regionalistic, corporate and tied to its banking cartel, it is based on an army that threathens oil producing countries. not everyone can be the winner of capitalism only view. just look at crypto its also capitalism and its allbout who defines the current world currency

maduro is your capitalist he is the one that holds the pedro your national currency. the problem is with his behavior he has defined rich and poor declaring himself and his army protectors rich or even more billionaires of venezuela

>Maduro is your capitalist

What am i reading? Venezuela is a classic case of a failed socialist state. A lesson to be learned for the world... AGAIN

well then do capitalism and work for the central bank of maduro.

capitalism is basically obeying and trying to earn money, but the central bank then decides for what there is money. good luck living in a society in which the central bank doesnt has any social goals.

you then have to hope to be born into the central bank running family or you are the central banks slave.

just look at zimbabwe? it is also capitalism, there is no form of socialism you either earn simbabwe dollar or you die. now make a video about the economic success of zimbabwe's capitalism

4347  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Italians and their Bridges another good reason to drop the Euro on: August 17, 2018, 04:24:38 PM
for the sake of common good invaded the italian bitcoinforum community with a topic "so much shame" in italian, to attack the italian bitcoin sectists about their crazy country and their crazy construction sides.

from my personal experience as engineering studend i heard that italy had a lot of construction sides where organised crime sold construction steel and resold it.

making italy an independent country with own currency that they can print as much as they desire would clearly solve lots of european problems italy can then print italian liras to pay their refugees with "human rights" and "no nazi money" to fix their infrastructure.

this whole case is now multiple times as embarassing as when i first time heard about that.

Sorry, I don't quite understand how Italian Bitcoin "secticts" is related to my question. I have heard about the corruption in Italy though. I wouldn't be surprised if stealing steel was the least of what's happening. The saddest thing is when innocent people suffer for the corruption of their "leaders".

I think though that if we start talking about kicking Italy out of the EU, then there make be many other countries that "should be kicked out" by the same criteria. Weren't things even worse in Greece? So should only rich be in the EU? Maybe you just don't like the idea of the EU at all?

i like the eu to a certain extent, but not its banking cartel that has neofeudal features. and the wasteful italians in it. the state is not partiying institution it is an institution to keep urban live together, but not in perfectionistic and wasteful way either.
4348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons behind Bitcoin/Cryptomarket fall??? on: August 17, 2018, 04:21:30 PM
Hi Friends,
What are the reason behind Bitcoin and whole crypto market fall.
Is this SCAMS or SPECULATIONS???

Few days back I read news about a big Bitcoin scam busted in Gujarat state of India. Its approximately $314B( INR 22000 Crore).
Also every day news came from different parts of world about same kind of scams. Are these scams also responsible for crypto market fall and halt growth of this new technology???

the market falles because there are no more usdollar flowing in, condiering the fact that the market is just a scammy zero sum game its likely the market will stop being supported by those gambler investors that hyped bitcoin
4349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on the Bitcoin vs Bitcoin Cash Dilemia on: August 17, 2018, 04:14:17 PM
Curious to see what people's thoughts are on this topic. There is a strong side of protesters who believe BCH and Roger Ver is hurting the overall market while others support their actions.

Overall the loud banter on the topic is not progressive for the market to grow, thoughts?

bitcoin cash is logical result, people never, get fed up with money and power.

i even expect that the flow of ico will only stop as soon as people start to develop a hatred against it.

4351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Congressman who suggested Bitcoin [BTC] ban accused of conflict of interest on: August 17, 2018, 02:46:20 AM
There isn't a single thing inthe world which does not have any contradictory value or simply say a dark side. That doesn't mean we are avoiding it, rather they bare to be used with regulations. Same concept should be applied with Crypto trading. Crypto trading lacks security assurance, then the Govt. may come with some regulations, make force it, discuss it and come to an amendment in case of needed. But Banning something doesn't mean any sense. Hope USA feels the same someday.

thats not true actually there are things that are purely beneficial for all involved.

like fresh air. food, peace and order.

bitcoin will create in regions that were before quite structured and organised an unstructured and wild place. with millions of icos seeking for attention of which all have the same legitimacy like bitcoin.

when the us dollar is gone. bitcoin is not measurable anymore with us power it will be just what its called a bitcoin, and thats it.

oh and not to forget if the core of the united states (army, police, legislation, and judicary) whil reform the financial system in which the banks are simply banned from gambling around. like they are doing now with bitcoin.

so that the banksters have their own money, which no one trusts and wants. bitcoin will have a much lower value to that new us dollar then, it will be a huge loss of value.
4352  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Analysis of Vitalik's 'A Guide to 99% Fault Tolerant Consensus' on: August 17, 2018, 01:39:40 AM
The only shortcoming in your article is its comparative approach, imo. I admit that you have pointed out some limitations of both "original" and "implementation" versions (your terminology) but the most important point is missing and it is the key to understanding why Buterin published such a copycat version of the original Lampart work.

Historically, Satoshi chose "oral messaging" against "encrypted messaging" for bitcoin because of the latter's centralization consequences. In classical Byzantine Generals, analogically speaking, having famous generals with known signatures is a prerequisite for applying "encrypted messaging" schemas and establishing such a fame system is vulnerable to centralization.

Obviously you are aware of this, we all are, even Buterin  (well, probably ) is aware of such a centralization consequence, the thing is he exactly wants it, a second layer "finalization supervisory" or something, with his org signature as one of the most important ones in the chain of command, I suppose.

Anyway, your comparative study was great. Thank you  Smiley

buterin used his prominence to spread that concept. without him it wouldnt have been known by any.

buterin has a great live now he is rich and he increasingly can use others thinking and inventing for him.
4353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best way to promote an ICO on: August 17, 2018, 01:38:20 AM
In your opinion which is the best way to promote an ICO at initial level to create buzz?  Do you think Ann threads are enough for that and how much is the role of bounty campaigns in that?

best way would be the way people accept it. this can be a row of things. obtaining trust is one way,

i bet we will sooner or later also see violent icos, that enforce themselves on the people in a territory, trying to illegalise competitors. similar like bitlicense.
4354  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Besides ICOs, How are Crypto Entrepreneurs Looking To Make Money? on: August 17, 2018, 12:07:59 AM
Now that the ICO/Eth hype has died down from back in Jan, what general vibe are you feeling? There's a lot of talk of "post-ICO" buying dumped tokens on IDEX and I'm seeing a trend of people researching how to build cryptocurrency exchanges for instance.

they are trying to find businesses that simply have free time between work or surplus products that they want to use for their projects.
4355  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Blockchain technology for social good? on: August 17, 2018, 12:04:20 AM
If we agree that society needs development/improvement in many ways. And we agree that technology is an unavoidable part of the future.

Then how do you see blockchain/decentralization improve life for human beings and society?

I'm curious to hear opinions here. I have my opinions and I work for several projects, but I want to keep my question pure and simple and see what comes up!

Let's build towards a better world

the problem is that you will get more than enough so called "good guys" or "good people" that want to do "good" while "controlling the financial system" and marketing for trust.

the issue then will be how efficient are they? and they will be to many

4356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NEWS Venezuela plans to create a cryptocurrency Central Bank on: August 16, 2018, 11:56:10 PM
What if Venezuela is a test pilot for the world economy? A crash dummy to see how hard it is to destroy an economy with hyperinflation and massive amounts of debt before "rescuing" it with a new form of currency... one that will, of course, be closely monitored by the government and strictly prohibit any "leakage" in the form of unclaimed income.

Yeah, but this test would be void if the dummy is already blown apart at a molecular level.

They could have done this monitoring by simply taking out the paper bills and running on plastic cards. Those would be far easier to implement and get used by the average Joe.

This is great news for crypto, and the Venezuelan people. Their economy is crashing and the people need something that is decentralised away from government control. Although petro is from the government, they are welcoming crypto and their people can diversify their portfolio with privacy coins

Which you acknowledge the petro is not, but you still think is good for the people although this is not what they need. You've made your shitpost, are you happy?

Unfortunately Venezuela has so bad economic and social situation so I don't see that their own cryptocurrency could help them to solve this.
It's more likely that the aim of this crypto will be some kind of self promotion of president Maduro and some attempt to show the rest of the world how progressive he is. But this will not work.

And is not going to help them!!!!
You can't just change your currency and somehow out of the blue jobs appear, the infrastructure is rebuilt and so on.

Look at East Germany, it's been 30 years, it was a country far better than most of the eastern block and although it has united with the west and became a global power, there are still differences.
30 years have not been able to balance and bring the two regions at the same level.
Venezuela has almost a century to come back from!

Those that think adopting a crypto will solve everything are either naive or high on something

capitalism will turn venezuela even further down, there are by now many countries that can economically much weaker because they left socialism. and turned to a chaotic and selfgreedy capitalism.

the problem is that this "cryptocurrency" bank will ultimately create just an elite that will try to centre the countries economy towards themselves and their benefit like the bitcoin lambo miners are already doing.

there is no point of trusting it. it will lie to the people and it will try to abuse them. and with loss of infrastructure venezuelans will become less educated. less lingually unified. and much more chaotic and diverse.
4357  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The BEST Bitcoin price ticker widget for Windows PC. (Recommend) on: August 16, 2018, 11:51:22 PM
There are so many coin apps for both iOS and Android but not for Windows.
Some Windws Store Apps provide such similar feature, but barely display non-realtime values in Live Tile (even not a Window based)

But there is a Windows "Program" (the program, software, not a app or chrome extension thing) for bitcoin plus many altcoin ticker widget.

<preview screenshots>

It sticks to the bottom or top of the screen, shows you the values of cryptocurrencies.
It contains more than 500 coins and lots of exchanges.

It has 'PRO feature' but also provides free things.

4358  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Is there any API like that of the coinmarket that I could use on google sheet? on: August 16, 2018, 11:43:22 PM
For a long time I used the open source coinmarket API daily. I guess not just me, but a hundred people. Over the last few days, they seem to be limiting requests. But it is not very clear what that limit would be. I already tried to change with the trigger without any success.

Is there any other site that provides a similar function to keep up with the market price of Bitcoin and altcoins?

what do you need it for?

statistical analysis is pretty much useless for this market

4360  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should UBI Replace all Welfare Systems? on: August 16, 2018, 10:48:13 PM
This is going to be a long one, and I want people to be involved with this issue so I can hear all sides of the argument.

In the recent years, there has been a push from the right and the left to introduce a Universal Basic Income (UBI) -- which in short, is a set amount of income (pegged to inflation) which is provided to you if you're a US citizen. This money is given to you with no strings attached. I'm going to use an example and say that every American is given $10,000 a year regardless of the income that they have their marital status, and so on.

This in and so of itself removes the cliff dive which is apart of the welfare system we have now. As the welfare system, we have now may give a large number of benefits to someone who makes under $35,000 -- but won't give a dime to someone who is married and makes $36,000 a year. This practically means that the current system does not incentivize growth, it incentivizes you to stay under the imposed income (and other barriers) to get your benefits.

This new UBI system would give you money either way and then you'd be allowed to go work as hard as you want or as little as you want. I think (alongside some economists) that this is going to spur growth as it incentivizes people to go ahead and work hard to continue to succeed as they aren't held down by welfare limits.

I also want to say that with this system, some conservatives and libertarians think that the entire welfare system should be removed -- which includes, Medicare, Medicaid, and then the various federal and state programs which go alongside with it. To them (which I agree with), this plan is a substitute for every single other program that is currently present in the US relating to welfare. I'm not going to go into detail about what the left thinks the right thing to do with UBI is, but I do think they want to remove some programs and then add this on to the current welfare system -- but I think some of the liberal-leaning people who post here can chime in with that side of things.

I do want to stress that I don't know if $10,000 per year is the right number, it may be different based on research. I was JUST using an example.

I do think that UBI can work as a way to remove the hundreds of state and federal programs which aren't necessary when the benefits can come from one central source -- which only has to vet if you're a US citizen or not -- This is a way to remove the massive bureaucracy, and then introduce a program which will have the same effect to the people who need welfare.
i doubt ubi will survive for long, capitalists are very greedy people they will sooner or later try to create a slavish form of capitalism, enslaving as many as possible as money earning cattle to feed their greed for power.
