4363  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to restore electrum wallet using other client on: July 03, 2020, 10:19:25 PM
I assume you kept your wallet empty after creating it? If so, try to add some BTC to it and then try to import the wallet again, it should work (I've tried it a few weeks ago)
You're right. The first wallet I imported was empty. Tried it again with an old wallet with few Satoshi in it and it was imported successfully. Weird!
There must be a logical explanation for this.

I agree with TryNinja, it doesn't make sense! Does any one know why BlueWallet doesn't allow importing wallets that have no history?
4364  Other / Meta / Re: An amazing finding, This guy is great on: July 03, 2020, 09:17:57 PM
I've seen and reported many accounts/posts following the same pattern in the past.
They are paid bots used to shill scam projects by creating a fake conversation and spreading false information.
It's also a smart way to bump the thread without being detected by mods as the conversation looks organic.

I thought no one is paying for these bots anymore, since the day theymos introduced the changes on how bumping threads works on some boards!
4365  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to restore electrum wallet using other client on: July 03, 2020, 08:38:07 PM
If i'm not mistaking, bluewallet supports electrum's custom seed format...

https://github.com/BlueWallet/

Not 100% sure tough (i've heared this statement before, but never tested it)

Just tested it and it didn't work.
I created a new wallet with Electrum and imported the seed into BlueWallet but I got an error message:
Quote
Alert
Failed to import. Please, make sure that the provided data is valid
tried it with both legacy and segwit wallets and got the same result!

Am using BlueWallet 5.4.4

4367  Local / العربية (Arabic) / Re: pubg mobile tdm مقابل البيتكوين on: July 01, 2020, 12:00:12 AM

CS:GO
LOL
DOTA2
و غيرها

4370  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to easily buy and sell Bitcoin in Nigeria. on: June 28, 2020, 10:58:55 PM
If you are looking for making small trades than I would suggest dealing with CryptopreneurBrainboss, he is a trusted member and wouldn't mind if you want to go through escrow.
Here is his service announcement thread:
Brainboss Currency Exchange Service {BTC/NGN Altcoins/NGN} NGN = Nigerian Naira

also, there is Bitsika which is an App letting you buy/sell bitcoins in Nigeria and other African countries. However I wouldn't recommend using it as it seems to have a low trading volume.
4371  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: "Insufficient Funds" on: June 28, 2020, 09:02:51 PM
Glad to see you were able to spend your coins.
I'm a complete novice, but I've been using this Blockchain Wallet for 4-5 years and never encountered this problem.
since you have been using blockchain for more than four years then you are supposed to have a good understanding about wallets and you are supposed to know that it's not recommended to use web wallets or exchanges to store your coins.
Hope this will incentivize you to use a wallet that let you be in full control over your funds.
I'd recommend using Electrum, one of the most trusted and easy to use wallets.

...
Actually there is no valid scam accusation against Roobet till now.
All scam accusations were either because of a silly misunderstanding (Yahoo's case which was resolved smoothly) or just a defamation/extortion attempt.

Scams with small numbers are even more dangerous, because they can scam more users.
but then there will be more accusations threads against the operator started by different members which makes the accusation undeniable!
4373  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Payoneer: Prepaid Card Has Been Frozen Temporarily on: June 28, 2020, 07:55:56 PM
That's a disaster for many people worldwide who have no options to receive funds but to use Payoneer. I am one of them, but fortunetly i have no funds in my account.
You can still use your Payoneer account to receive payments. However, you can only withdraw to your bank account.
AFAIK the max amount of money that can be held by the prepaid card is capped to 10k $ and any amount above that is being held by Payoneer and hence isn't frozen and can be withdrawn too via bank transfers.

4374  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Payoneer: Prepaid Card Has Been Frozen Temporarily on: June 28, 2020, 05:36:00 PM
I just heard about this from a friend. He told me that he received two emails from Payoneer. The first email informing him about freezing his prepaid card and the second assuring that the problem will get resolved soon.
I believe Payoneer customers should not panic as it appears restricting WCSLs activities and freezing prepaid card is temporary and was taken as a preventive measure to protect card holders in first place.
Let's just hope investigations will not take too long and the freeze will be lifted soon.
4375  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin & Altcoin ATM around the world on: June 28, 2020, 04:56:42 PM
Sadly there are no bitcoin ATMs around here although we have a lot of people interested in buying/selling bitcoin.
Bitcoin ATMs would decrease the risk of getting scammed by untrusted local sellers and it would save us a lot of time when trying to cash out to the local currency.

Efficency, maybe this is the reason why people in your country using exchange than ATM. Because from exchange, user just need to fill easy data than goes to ATM.
Also because most exchanges don't ask for KYC when exchanging small amounts. Besides, they charge less fees compared to ATMs.
4376  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Running personal server for Electrum on: June 28, 2020, 03:42:57 PM
In fact, Wasabi is as secure and easy to use as Electrum. You just need more time to get used to it and learn about all its features and how to configure it properly.
The only inconvinience when using Wasabi is the longer time it takes to synchronize compared to Electrum and other SPV wallets.

People always do not keep their system on so in this case the mixing sites seem to be a good solution.
CoinJoin main advantage is that it allows you to mix your coins in a decentralized way. You don't have to trust any third party.
When using a regular mixer, you have no guarantees that they don't keep logs of your activity/personal information.
4377  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Fake Wasabi Wallet website on: June 28, 2020, 02:55:35 PM
Thank you for the warning OP. Likely, the phishing link doesn't appear in google search result yet when you search for "wasabi wallet". However, the first result I get is an ad for sudokuwallet website!
Downloading the gpg signature file and verifying the authenticity of downloaded files is a must and anyone who cares about his security should learn how to do it and make it a regular practice.
4378  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not be deceived by sending PM. on: June 28, 2020, 11:02:19 AM
After readin the scam accusation thread, I became really paranoid whenever someone contacts me via PMs and think twice before replying to him Cheesy
However, I believe elmanchez could easilly avoid falling for this scam by being more cautious and requesting more proofs to make sure he is talking tothe same person on both platforms and ask why he have to send a random address to a random member. it doesn't make sense and had to see it as a big red flag!
4379  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cryptoamity.ltd is a Scam or Real? Any way to withdraw BTC from it? on: June 27, 2020, 11:59:15 PM
Sorry for your loss OP.
Besides the dispute on NameCheap to get back your domain, which I believe the outcome will be in your favour if you provide enough evidences, you have to report Cryptoamity.ltd to the domain name registrar and the hosting provider so they take it down for good.
Also, it will be more beneficial for us if you tell us how did you come to know the scammer and how and where did you make the deal.
4380  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Attackers Cryptojacking Docker Images to Mine for Monero on: June 27, 2020, 11:06:21 PM
I think it is also imported to discussed what is the "normal" CPU usage that we need to see here before we can say that we are infected not just by this Docker images but other malicious crypto jacking.
the CPU usage depends on the programs you are running or being run on background, so I don't think we can't set or agree on a "normal CPU usage" as it varies from user to another and depends on what the computer is being used for at that moment.
However, you can monitor the CPU usage when your computer is idle, then, any an usual activity such as a high CPU usage should be considered as a suspect activity.

Am not familiar with Docker and how it works, so is this affecting linux users only?
