COIN = 1 basically You have 50 Block reward, you can see it here. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fs16.postimg.org%2Fupdnnyayd%2FBLOCK_REWARD_CATCOIN.jpg&t=663&c=zE5DW29HlOD4sg) Ah. I see.So COIN is acting like a DOUBLE. Bleh. I hate floating points.

I hope irony doesn't befall this OP and he ends up getting a nasty shock at his next checkup.

Well...
static const int64 COIN = 100000000; in util.h
Which would make that 8,400,000,000,000,000 coins? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Floating point arithmetic sucks, so the coins are stored as integers. There are 10^8 = 100000000 of the smallest unit (analogous to a satoshi in Bitcoin) in a coin. This means that MAX_MONEY should in fact be 21 million * COIN ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) So we have a coin that's as hard to mine as bitcoin, with the quantity as litecoin? So what, all mined by the year 3000? This needs to be fixed. I think the dev has time. it's 21 mil chillax So it is correct?

84000000 * COIN. Show me that COIN holds the same value, otherwise, you don't know what you're talking about. COIN is a const value which is multiplied by 84000000. Most likely a value less than one for Catcoin which you'll likely find will equal the supply of the coin. The dev may have simply altered the value of COIN. Jeez. At any rate, MAX_MONEY is used in like one place in the code, and it doesn't matter at all until ~4 years in the future. Hopefully by that time the dev can fix it ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Willing to bet MAX_MONEY equals exactly what it should. People shouldn't post C++ sourcecode if they don't understand C++.
|
|
|
it was supposed to have 1/4 th of that as the max amount right?
It probably does. The value is being multiplied by COIN, which is a const value stored elsewhere in the code source. The dev likely changed the value of COIN, rather than 84000000. You can't post half of a piece of code and cry scam. Tell me what COIN equals and then do the math.

Scam coin!!!Scam coin!!!Scam coin!!!Scam coin!!!Take a look to Litecoin's code, same supply, they don't even changed MAX SUPPY. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fs22.postimg.org%2Fmtdpj900x%2Fmax_coins_catcoin.jpg&t=663&c=H48RdxEBRdu51g) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fs22.postimg.org%2Fskho27c69%2Fmax_coins_litecoin.jpg&t=663&c=QB8aHsHcJS1ZKA) 84000000 * COIN. I could sit here all night eagerly watching the price rise and fall, but I'm afraid that at 2:24am my sanity is in short supply. I've placed a bid. Now I'm going to bed.
'night. I have continental time. It's 3:33. Ah well. It was worth staying up for. Worst case I lose 0.0002 BTC in transfer fees. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) G'night.

do you have to wait for your deposit to be confirmed before you can keep an active bid? I assume that once I can place a bid, it will stay active?
if your deposit says no in the confirmed section your order will get rejected ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) happy playing. Ah. Thanks for clarifying. When it is confirmed I can just place a bid and it will stay active permanently, right? Unless it's accepted of course. yup. Awesome stuff. Exhanges are new to me. Want to make sure I don't make any newbie mistakes. I don't have a lot to play with.

So frustrating that I don't have any BTC. It's just really hard to buy. I have the money to spare, but it's just so difficult to get started. Even having 0.1 BTC would get me rolling. It's a minefield isn't it?

Hi, dunno if this is the place to say, but I am having trouble with my miner, been connected to the internet for weeks until about an hour ago, no it just gives me a warning triangle over the 2 computers in the bottom right, it says, 'no network access' 'unidentified network', any help will be appreciated because as you all know, 'TIME IS MONAAAAAYYYYYY' XD
Also forgot to add, I have also tried with a wifi dongle and still no connection ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif) please anything, any seggestions will be tried Connection issues? Are you online on that machine now? Def a network problem that. Probs, I can get on on my xbox 360, laptop (which im on now) my other tower pc (which has a shite GPU in and isn't big enough for my 7950) and it is just that one, which I find very odd :/ so I dunno, I did have another computer a few years ago do this, just give up one day, was only on facebook and the connection went and never recovered :/ hope hat isnt the case with my miner XD too l8 to do anything tonight, so anything suggested will be done in the morn... Could be so many things. Are you technical? You could uninstall the network card drivers and do a restart on the connection. Like you would on a fresh PC.
