WARNING cat.poolofpools.com
is running on the freaking wrong Chain!! Their blocks are 3000+ more than the other chain. They are on block 9000 now and everyone else is near 6000
Network Info Difficulty 0.015625 Current Block 9217
Am I missing something? Doesn't the longest chain end up being the right one? Also worth noting that we appear to be one of the most stable pools/servers, so the others may not be updating the block count via crons, and actually on the same number of blocks as we are. We're updating as regularly as possible. Not sure yet, too soon to tell I guess. I don't know..I definitely notice that I'm detecting a lot more blocks on poolofpools than catpool, however catpool has a considerably higher pool hashrate and the site is pretty laggy. Too soon to tell as you say,

Now it kinda works. Have 200 CATs now. MEOW Dunno, it's kinda funny because it's so bad Yes. I'm hoping the coins depreciate so much people start paying me to stop me giving them catcoins.

ANYONE trust any pools here? It works in your favour to tell everyone else you know :S
http://cat.poolofpools.comConfirmed 73.5 This has been such a crappy launch for everyone. It would be cruel to keep it to myself. Pool seems to be working. Although it's hitting a lot of blocks.

Confirmed 49
Jeez, finally, a number other than zero!
Did I hit a block or something?
2% fee..seems like it. Lucky I guess. Maybe that's compensation for all the crap lot of nothing I got from catpool. ¬_¬

Catpool.co is a scam!! you mine but dont get any coins, the admin alex is receiving all the coins ffs!!
I was wondering why I haven't been getting anything. I was hoping there was lag or something. Switching back to poolofpools. Neither pool seems particularly stable if I'm honest. Not a great launch.

MOVE YOUR MINERS TO SOME OTHER POOL!
My pool is getting DDoS'd right now, and everything is going crazy. I stopped the pool service to avoid any further issue. Your shares / blocks / balance should be safe, but everything is crazy on the machine right now so the cron services can't run properly.
Which pool is yours? Having trouble on both pools here.

http://cat.poolofpools.com is acting wierd with my miner. Detecting a lot of blocks, hashing plenty..not getting any accepted shares. That's happening for everyone--the blocks are moving so quickly, it's hard to get an accepted share. If you do, you probably get a block with it though. The blocks are just moving too quickly right now. Yeah same, I keep detecting a new block every 1 second, but haven't got any shares yet, even though the difficulty is so low Should be getting something I would think 20/38 accepted shares now. Was detecting a lot of blocks. Suddenly gone very quiet on my miner now. Hashing away, but no new blocks or shares. Now poolofpools just went down..

Maybe the cats all drowned.

It's a shame really. The Banks see Bitcoin as competition. It's not going anywhere. The logical thing to do would be to embrace it, rather than fight against it.

I was sending them to bitcoin fog (all you need to make an account is a username and password), and it wasn't that much. The support sent me this message
As an anonymous service we have to be very careful with such requests because they can easily be attempts to steal someone else's account, or to even simply gain any information about accounts or addresses. (For example whether certain addreses even belong to the Fog.)
Do you have the actual address that has sent the deposit transaction? Can you send a test transaction from that exact same address somewhere in the amount of 0.00007031 (or more but with those last 4 digits) so that we can know that you own it?
In the grand scheme of things, sending them 0.00007031 BTC would hardly be worth their time unless they're just trying to keep up the charade. You really haven't got anything to lose if we're taking a few pence/cents.

what coin you think is worth to buy now?
Bitcoin Look for Sexcoin, Quarks, Zetacoin and Fastcoin
These coins saw the most % rise in value today.
Maybe the OP should have better defined what he meant by "now" Bitcoin is a good long-term investment. If you're looking to make quick returns, then look at some of the scrypt coins currently available. Whether or not those coins are worth long-term investments is an entirely different thing. It depends on what you mean by worth, and what you intend to do with them once you buy them.

I have been mulling around here for a few weeks and have seen a lot of posts about people being scammed out of their bitcoins.
I don't understand this. How do you fall for a scam, involving money that is hard to trace and is anonymous? I mean it's like the people who fall for the "I have 2 Billion Euros in a seized bank account and need your help to get it out. In return I will give you half"
Simple rule to follow in the internet world, and has been for years. Trust no one. Let's amend that with Trust no one, even with your bitcoins.
Am I wrong to think like this?
It's quite simple, really. People get so blinded by the prospect of making money that rationality jumps right out of the window. Along with their wallet. Use your common sense. If it seems too good to be true, then it quite possibly is. The less well known the website, or individual, then the higher probability there is that you'll be scammed. Before doing anything. Ask questions. Lots and lots of questions. Or better yet, just ask yourself; would you be doing this with money? Really?

Yeah, you should try cudaminer, I got best results with that on my nvidia card. You can find more info here. But CUDAminer is for litcoin, right? Litecoin is a scrypt-based coin. CudaMiner will work on any scrypt-based coin AFAIK, although I refer to them as "GPU Coins" for that reason. I've mined several different scrypt coins with Cudaminer without any problems.

Update: with "cgminer --scrypt", although it displays nothing, it is still running However, I only get a Hashrate between 10 and 13 kh/s According to this page https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparisonmy AMD Radeon HD 7670M should give me 81 kh/s What else am I missing here? It is a switchable graphics laptop, and I configured cgminer to use the Radeon. At the very least buy yourself a laptop cooler. They're fairly cheap. One of the most common problems with laptop overheating is the soldering on the power connector on the motherboard. Enough heat will break the connection. Your laptop won't be dead, but you'll be facing a hefty bill to get it repaired. Alternatively you could prop it up vertically and turn it into a radiator.

how do we know which bitcoin went which country?
Direct transactions are anonymous. BTC Markets aren't, as far as I'm aware.

I suppose the only good thing about there being so many alt-coins is that it does thin out the competition, although it's only going to get harder.

I joined the forum mainly with a lot of technical questions. I couldn't even figure out how to post on the forum until I googled it and realised I was restricted to the newbie section.
What a fantastic start.
