Is the requirement of KYC from online casino the reason that gives birth to online casino getting regulated? I mean in the past there is no regulation thing pointed to online casino but now all eye are on them for a must regulation if they want to keep their platform alive and functioning.

I think that’s a bit backwards. It’s the regulation that caused casinos to require KYC in certain countries. I’m sure the casino would rather not have to hire staff to deal with KYC or develop solutions for submitting and verifying KYC. It would be much cheaper and easier on them to just not have to worry about it or care. So it definitely isn’t the casino’s fault. Regulation is inevitable anyway.
4362  Economy / Gambling / Re: Researching for Upcoming Game on: December 24, 2022, 11:04:33 PM
Personally, I’d love to see crypto gaming be a part of the current gaming infrastructure that already exists. Let me bet with my friends or strangers and play over Xbox live without having to prove the results of the game on a third party app somehow. If a company partnered with Microsoft to make a game where gambling was built in and used crypto to top off accounts, that would be amazing.
4363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you come to know bitcoin? on: December 24, 2022, 11:02:02 PM
There are many threads like this available through the search feature, but I’ll play along, again. I read an article in 2011 while at work about a new decentralized currency that was exploding in value. It was being used like cash on the internet and that fascinated me. The more I learned, the more bullish I became for about five years. It was a great rabbit hole to walk down.
4364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should your wife or husband know your seed phrase? on: December 24, 2022, 10:58:35 PM
When a man gets married to a woman to become husband and wife, they become one and everyone expects that they can get to share everything with each other. I know of women who have the passwords to their husbands bank cards and they can make withdrawals on his behalf. I will like to ask the Men here if they have shared their seed phrase with their wife's? I will like to ask the women here how they will feel if their husbands refuse telling them their seed phrase?

I personally wouldn’t think that a seed phrase is ‘need to know’ information for a spouse. As long as they know where they could access it if something happened to you or you had some other end of life plan in place, I don’t see a reason why knowing the phrase would be important. I also would think it’s a bit of a red flag if someone was even wanting the information…

That Suns game yesterday was pretty ugly. While it’s no shame to lose to the Grizzlies, this was basically a blowout. Without Booker the Suns aren’t proving to be much of a threat. Ayton isn’t getting enough touches to get more than 20 points and they don’t really have another scorer to fall back on. I’m starting to feel like the Chris Paul experiment in Phoenix is nearing it’s end.
4366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots 101: Basics, Strategies, and Discussion (with poll) on: December 24, 2022, 05:34:31 AM
Very interesting reading people’s thoughts about slot machines and how to try and beat the system. I’m sure there must be some merit to things being discussed but if it were possible to beat the house I think it would be more well known. The truth is that slots are controlled by the house and they can all be set at different payout levels. In the end though, the simple truth is that the house always wins.

This can help us send the bitcoins quickly to any user we want.
How often do you do this? And even if you do, how often do you browse on your desktop and use your mobile to make a transaction? Most of the time I copy paste addresses on my desktop into my desktop wallet.
I don't think we'll get a new feature that barely anyone uses.

When faced with how to handle this sort of issue, NastyFans decided to take an all-of-the-above type approach to handling it.  The QR code is displayed for users that want to send a transaction with their mobile, and the payment address is provided for those who want to double check it or copy paste.  Additionally, the QR code is also clickable, and if the user decides to click it, it opens their Bitcoin wallet and populates the transaction data with the correct information.  I think that 3 step approach pretty much covers most everyone.

Also, sending each other BTC was a very common practice here when the community was populated with Bitcoin users instead of forum professionals.

Interesting rumor that Zach LaVine is trying to force his way out of Chicago and into a contract with the Lakers.  I honestly don't see how this would work out with a trade, but it's fun to speculate about.  The crazy thing is that DeRozan wants to be a Laker also.  With the Lakers not having much to offer but Anthony Davis, it seems unlikely that a swap for LaVine would work and this is interesting because the Lakers have been trying to get DeRozan with a trade, and now the Bulls have 2 guys that want to play for the Lakers...  This is going to be one rumor filled trading window.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/nba-rumors-zach-lavine-is-forcing-his-way-to-the-lakers/ar-AA15BD0a

Yeah, read that rumors as well, I was really surprised that Lavine wanted out of the Bulls, since he was being made to be the face of the franchise. But it looks like he was frustrated on how the teams are turning specially last season when they got DeRozan because they expecting that they will make a final push.

They do good in the beginning, but when injuries keeps piling up, barely made it to the playoff last year and then exited on the first round.

And this season, it's worst for them.

Yes, it does seem within the realm of possibility that the Bulls will blow up their roster.  I don't see them wanting a piece like Anthony Davis to build around though.  It's too much of a risk.  Just after reading the article about Zach LaVine, there's another one about DeRozan wanting out...

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/demar-derozan-considering-massive-trade-request-from-chicago-bulls/ar-AA15AlbM

The crazy part is that they seem to be disagreeing how they should play together, but they both want to go to the Lakers...  I think we may see a bit of a pissing contest on who will be able to get to the Lakers.  It would be a bit funny if they both ended up being teammates there again...
4369  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predictions, predictions, predictions... on: December 23, 2022, 07:52:43 PM
Making a simple prediction...  I think that those selling now will be the ones buying our BTC back in 2025 well into the six figure exchange rate.  They'll complain about all the scams and how they were forced to sell, but the real reason is that most people in this space nowadays came for easy money, and there hasn't been any easy money here for the last year, so they're all gone.  Some holding their bags with hope and others dumping and cursing crypto.  Me, I like vocally doing the opposite of everyone else and then listening to the excuses later on.  Stack sats and you will be happy about it in the future, that's a good prediction.
4370  Economy / Speculation / Re: [Speculated] Barry Silbert dump on: December 23, 2022, 07:50:27 PM
Pretending to be some sort of Bitcoin sage, going bankrupt, then dumping your coins at the bottom of the market seems to be a popular thing to do in this space.  Personally, I wonder how these individuals manage to have careers after messing up so badly in what has been, let's face it, the most simplistic trade of human history.  Someone who has been in the game as long as Silbert and pretends to be good at making money should easily be able to identify the 4-year cycle and trade accordingly.  That means to me that he is either a silver spoon fed baby who doesn't deserve to be where he is, or he was malicious in his actions for some as of yet to be unidentified reason.

Still selling this lego??

I am very sorry to inform you of this but TECSHARE is no longer with us.  This is why his profile has the addition of "In memoriam" in it's description.  For that reason I think it is safe to say that these lego (yes, multiples are called lego as legos aren't actually a thing) are no longer for sale.  It is great to see a reminder that TECSHARE was an active user who really tried his best to be a voice for those who don't wish to fight out against abuse here.  He is missed and while I never had much interaction with him, I did consider him to be a good person who was trying to do his best for people here in ways they will never know.  RIP.

Later add paying $8/month to get a blue tick also.

This was a funny comment, but had me wondering what I've "paid" for this website.  Given my donation and the current exchange rate for Bitcoin, it looks like it works out to about $1,220 per month that I paid (if you want to use current valuations which is a big disingenuous) from the goodness of my heart to participate here over the years.  That's quite a bit to be honest, but I can say for the first half of my time here it was money well spent.  I've never considered this metric before, but I imagine that monthly amount will go up quite a bit in the future.  It is a fun metric to see if Bitcoin's price rises enough to make up for the additional months being added.  My guess is that it will.
4373  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I feel guilty. on: December 23, 2022, 07:26:30 PM
You aren't responsible for the actions of another person.  You had a pastime that your roommate wanted to take part in with you and they ended up going a little overboard with it.  It's not like you're the only person in the world who would have shown them that smoking is a thing.  It's ok to feel bad and adjust your behavior to avoid doing things that may make you feel bad in the future, like introducing people to harmful habits.  However, people are their own beings and it isn't up to you to decide how a person lives their life.  I'm sorry this situation went bad for your roommate, but other than offer your help to get them on the right track, there isn't much you can do.

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to all the Stake players and especially the staff.  Watching this company grown and thrust itself into the mainstream has been extremely interesting from a business standpoint and I hope to continue observing (and maybe playing a small role to help) the growth of this company as it brings more and more users into the crypto space.  I hope the new year brings resolution to lawsuits, increased friendly regulation, expansion into new markets, development of new games, and of course, lots of winnings for the users who play these games.  Smiley
4375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the vaccine against the CBDC virus on: December 23, 2022, 07:17:25 PM
This is a horrible analogy.  Given the dangers of the vaccine and it's recipients dropping dead all around the world, I take a bit of offense to this allegation of similarities.  If Bitcoin is the vaccine, what's the natural immunity, because that's where I'd want my money...  I get the sensationalism of touting the word vaccine to get attention, but c'mon...  If anything I would say that the dollar is the virus, CBDC is the vaccine, and Bitcoin is natural immunity.  Be strong, be independent, don't wait for the government to save you with their experimental vaccines or CBDCs...  Bitcoin is not the government provided vaccine, Bitcoin is natural immunity.
4376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🪙 The Sandbox ($SAND) Metaverse on: December 23, 2022, 07:13:48 PM
The Sandbox is awesome and it's honestly one of the coolest projects in crypto.  I have no doubt that it will be successful and provide players with a fun way to game that also incorporates their favorite hobby, crypto.  However, $SAND as an investment has been pretty rocky.  It's one of the most inflationary coins out at the moment, and the team gives them out like candy to accounts that engage their platform.  Not to mention the high staking rates, etc...  The downward pressure is crazy on the price of SAND.  I'm sure there will be people who get rich catching the bottom and staking, but for now it appears many more people will lose a ton of money until SAND has been widely distributed.
4377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: December 23, 2022, 07:11:13 PM
Tokens that are "backed by gold" have been around as long as I've been in crypto (more than a decade) and each and every one of them always end up being scams that get rug pulled.  Not saying that's what is happening here, I mean the thread is several years old...  However, I can't understand the benefit of holding a token like this.  It isn't hard to buy real gold to hold, or to invest in an ETF with audits and regulations.  Investing in something like this seems to be financial suicide.  Granted, I could be wrong, but I honestly can't think of any benefits that could come close to the risks of something like this.
4378  Other / Archival / Re: SONDORS Metacycle - $5,000 (now $6.5K) Electric Motorcycle on: December 23, 2022, 07:04:41 PM
The Metacycle has arrived.  Earlier in the week I received a package via FedEx with the charger and paperwork for the bike, then yesterday I received delivery via the biggest delivery truck I've ever seen.  The guy shipping the bikes was nice and told me that everyone was very happy to be receiving their bikes for Christmas but that nobody had many nice things to say about the honesty of the company.  That's a bit to be expected given the promises vs reality of the situation.  However, I'm impressed with the looks and feel of the Metacycle so far (although the seat may be a bit of a rapist) and seeing it ridden with no noise is strangely satisfying.  It's charging right now so I'm happy.  I'm sure I'll post some pics and a bit of a review after the holidays, as I don't think I'll get much opportunity to play with it for a couple weeks.

Most importantly, this product is not vaporware!

I’m a little bit surprised that people aren’t interested in the possibility of having AI place bets for you on sporting events. I guess the current implementation of AI would probably just pick whoever had the best odds, but I’d like to think it’s possible for it to analyze individual matchups and make a more thought out prediction. I think it’s worth giving a try and I may do it at some point. Maybe I’ll post the results so people can see.
