4361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop wishing Ethereum dead or overthrown on: January 13, 2021, 06:28:47 PM
If anyone hopes that Ethereum will die and be abandoned by the crypto community then recommend them to take a look at ethereum's price and market cap even if only for a moment in the hope that they get an answer to their doubts on ethereum.

Due to its functionality, ethereum will probably continue to be the first altcoin among altcoin competing in the crypto market. If the doubt is caused by high transaction costs, then I think the development team will find the best solution to fix it. So there is no excuse today to say that ethereum will die and be abandoned.
4362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: January 13, 2021, 05:57:36 PM
Atletico Madrid beat Sevilla as I predicted but they were very lucky to win here. Because especially in the second half, Sevilla played too dominantly but couldn't manage to score a goal. Atletico got only one shot in the second half which resulted in a goal.
Atletico Madrid's win today didn't surprise me because this season they have been impressive in LaLiga. Look at the standings, they are amazing and have collected 41 points from 16 games and currently they have 2 matches less than any other team.

Sevilla had more ball possession than Atletico, but they had no luck with goals. At first I hoped Sevilla could win the game, but in fact they had a lot of trouble scoring goals. It's impossible to catch Atletico Madrid's points if they continue to play like this.
4363  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Treat newbies right - Teach them and sell to them at the ATH on: January 13, 2021, 04:53:54 PM
~snip
TL;DR
You will likely have the opportunity to help a newbie. Each situation can and will be different but try to remember you should use your experience to help, but not influence. Everyone should get there in their own way, and you can help them do so in an informed and safe way.

Also I did introduce and sell a friend BTC at the ATH  Wink
First, I would say without a doubt that trying to help newbies know about bitcoin, buying and selling it is the way to make bitcoin more and more popular with the wider public.

I have the same experience with the storyline at OP, two of my friends were interested in trading bitcoin in mid-2020. I didn't influence them to buy and trade bitcoin at that time, but they were interested because they saw my activity almost every day monitoring price movements . Their interest grew stronger after they learned of the profit I was making from trading at that time and they were eager to do so.

Because trading is a risky activity, I did not immediately grant their request to make the first purchase because I had to explain the risks they might face later. I wanted them to first learn and figure out what bitcoin is by encouraging them to read, watch YouTube and so on and that took over a week. Once done, I thought it was time for them to make their first purchase.

There were two things I offered at that time, whether they wanted to own bitcoin directly from me or they want to get them from an exchange. Because they want to have it from the exchange so I had to register it with the local exchange at that time and do the verification which will be processed in 24 hours. The next day they made their first bitcoin purchase on an exchange with an initial capital of not more than $500.

As far as I know, they have been selling bitcoin and profiting from it for the first time even though at some time they asked if it was time to sell. But yes, now I think they have to be independent and carry out trading activities with full consideration and analysis without having to depend on other people. When I explain to them about the risks, they are fully responsible for their money.
4364  Other / Meta / Re: Meriting a user who just merited you on: January 13, 2021, 04:01:40 PM
Did you ever find yourself thinking: that user just sent me x merits, I will go through his/her post history and find something to merit? That thought has often popped into my head, and I have indeed done it a few times myself.
I am the 21st user who answered "no" to the question you have asked.

The merit system that has been implemented in the forum since the beginning of 2018 has become a momentum of awakening for me to change the behavior of my posts to be more useful and quality. At first I almost always check who sent me is appropriate because personally I really want to know how people rate a quality post. But after a while I was no longer used to it because I already knew how the merit system worked.

The distribution of merit I do has nothing to do with whether they have provided merit for me or not. Whenever I get a quality post from anyone I think I deserve, I will unless I don't have sMerit. Merit should be distributed on quality posts regardless of whether they send them to us or not. This is the basic reference of the merit system in my opinion.

When you merit someone who just merited you, do you feel good doing it?
If it was a quality post, then I thought I would do it without feeling special. I have the same feeling for every merit I send others on their quality posts. If they deserve it, why not ?

Even if you merit a post that clearly deserves to be awarded, you didn't come across it naturally. You searched for it intentionally. I am curious what other users think about this.
I know that account ranking is no excuse for us not send sMerit on quality posts. But sometimes I might miss a high ranking member post from merit if I find a quality post from a low ranking user just below it. But it all depends on my sMerit balance.
4365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: So is it appropriate for us to BUY XRP now? on: January 13, 2021, 03:00:32 PM
You have to decide for yourself how you will benefit from this investment. You should never rely on investment advice by asking the community because nothing can guarantee that your investment will pay off. Do some analysis before you decide to start and considered all the risks.

No it's not, XRP has always been a shitcoin, and now it's a shitcoin with legal problems, it has no future, regardless of how will the SEC's case against them do. The only use for it is some very high risk daytrading, if you're into that kind of stuff.

Don't get tempted by the price pump, look at the fundamentals instead.
The OP should be able to weigh the current risks regarding the problems facing XRP. So in my opinion, if the OP wants to make a profit, there are still many other altcoins that have the potential to make a profit instead of choosing a problematic investment asset.
4366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More records for bitcoin as we welcome 2021. on: January 08, 2021, 07:12:07 PM
You really need to edit the current bitcoin price that you list on the OP. Even bitcoin has set a record $42K today.

What is your opinion?
Come on, don't forget to always be careful with the bitcoins you have (if any). Keep your wallet, account on the exchange, and other security safe. Price can fall at any time, so use money that you can afford to lose if you decide to invest here.

4367  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: LoyceV's Beginners guide to correct use of the Trust system on: January 08, 2021, 06:53:46 PM
@LoyceV, I've put a few names on my list of trust so far since the last few months. I don't expect these people to include me on their list of trust too. Now, I am wondering am I guilty if including all the current DT1 names I trust in my list of trust ?
4368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 08, 2021, 06:05:32 PM
They did 2 tests before the game against Milan.

One the day before the match (they even had postponed the departure to Milano waiting for the results of tests).
One on the hours before the game.
I really hope that not many other players will be positive after this. Don't know what caused a positive de ligt at this time. If de ligt is positive after the match, then there will be other Juventus players who are also positive in my opinion. This will put Juventus in a very unstable position.
4369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 08, 2021, 05:41:48 PM
One more, De Ligt is positive for Covid  Roll Eyes.

I don't know how Juventus can win this year...
This must be bad news for everyone. De ligt was involved in the match between AC Milan and Juventus, what a situation that is very detrimental to all parties.
Can it be ascertained before the match that he is in good health without being positive for Covid ? I am very curious about that.
4370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: January 08, 2021, 05:20:01 PM
In your opinion, will the match between Atletico Madrid vs Atletic Bilbao end in a draw tomorrow ?

Messi fans are happy again from his performance yesterday. They can at least qualify for CL next season if they can hold on Grin
There has been an increase in the consistency of the results achieved by Barcelona in its last few matches so that third place is where they are today. That will be good and will make them even more motivated to keep fighting to end this competition as champions.

I am sure they will stay there and go to UEFA Champions as usual. It's hard to say Barcelona failed to get into the elite competition at the moment despite their many internal problems.

well, I wonder which coach would bring good results if he were in barcelona? jose mourinho would bring a style of play completely different from barcelona. I only see guardiola return to be able to recover barcelona, but guardiola would not leave the city
To be honest I would really like to see him return to Barcelona as a coach. But it is difficult for him at this time to return because it may not be the time yet. Guardiola's character is very familiar with Barcelona's style of play, he's the best in my opinion.
4371  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin over 30k on: January 08, 2021, 05:09:01 PM
To date, Bitcoin figures $ 41,350 and this is only at the beginning of the year. It's even hard to imagine what will happen a few months later, but the current situation is quite similar to 2017 after the halving. I believe that skeptics are still tearing their hair out because of poor forecasts.
If the benchmark of your current analysis is the Halving, then this should be the start of the ascent, the peak may be in late 2021 or early 2022. History doesn't have to be the same and Bitcoin can go up and down more than people predict and it has happened many times before today. This increase will continue and the volatility will always be there. At least in the near future bitcoin will not go down based on what I currently believe.

4372  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin over 30k on: January 08, 2021, 04:45:31 PM
Poor people gamble their savings now thinking they will get rich quick ...
I am interested in this. What you need to realize today is that bitcoin is not the get-rich-quick scheme they think it is. Even though you have the potential to reap a return of 100% or even more than your current investment value, it is clear that this investment is not one of these schemes. Traders and investors are always in an advantage and disadvantage situation because basically the volatility will remain. This is an investment risk and you should be aware of it.

Anyone has the right to choose where to spend their money in the sense that your money is your responsibility. If someone decides to invest in bitcoin, they should be aware of the investment risks from the start. There is no investment without risk.

4373  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin even crash more than 20% in 2021? on: January 08, 2021, 03:48:51 PM
I don't expect the next fall in bitcoin price to come sooner than we think. But I'm sure accidents will happen. I hope everyone is ready for that and that's normal because bitcoin is a very volatile asset.

Crashing bitcoin in the percentage of 20 is bad and I do not want to happen that because it will cause for sure more dumping because they panic and I do not want to happen what happen in the year 2018 and we can prevent to that happen.
Panic will ensue as people continue to dump bitcoin at low price. Maybe because of that you should always be vigilant and careful. 20% is probably a big percentage, but it's very rare with bitcoin. The whales' involvement in it will probably deepen the percentage drop.
4374  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Increase Your Alertness Everytime on: January 08, 2021, 03:17:09 PM
@Coyster, It's good that you got my point perfectly.

~Snip
remember that BTC isn't a "get rich quick scheme".
This has been a fact for a long time but in practice there may still be some people who do.

Pretty much every time Bitcoin gets a lot of exposure, or Bitcoin booms in price there's a influx of new users trying to scam, and earn a quick buck. I expect to see a lot of reputation threads, and debates all over the forum in the next few weeks, if the price remains at around this value.
And it doesn't seem surprising anymore because it's almost predictable and just waiting for the time.

If Bitcoin has a "correction" or drops back down, I'd expect a ton of people claiming Bitcoin has finally died, and promote their altcoin scams. I think its the general life cycle of the cryptocurrency industry.
To me that is something that can be considered a joke because usually the babble will be there after they fail to make a profit on the investment. If they do make a profit, it's entirely possible for him to say that I made the right decision about investing today.

It is illogical to flaunt your investment value, criminals will certainly run after your private keys to steal your assets.
Of course, and that's why I took the time to remind everyone, especially those who are newbies.
You know that only people who don't care about privacy will do it on social media. Without realizing it, they will invite scammers who will make them victims. Privacy is not only about personal data related to identity, but financial privacy is also needed for the security of assets and ourselves.

If Satoshi didn't care about privacy, there would be hundreds of beggars every day asking him to share his chunk of bitcoin.
4375  Economy / Economics / Re: Will bitcoin ever succeed as a currency on: January 07, 2021, 09:57:19 PM
Bitcoin is now more of a "digital" gold than a currency, people buying it just to keep it and afraid to use it for transaction because the fee is kinda high I guess? the fee might looks cheaper than it was around 2017-2018 but the expensive price of bitcoin really drives up the fee cost in duller like by hundreds percent compared it was in the past making it kinda unsuitable for "real" currency thats used for transaction or daily activities. Bitcoin need to sort it out before becoming a real currency thats used for daily life.
The cost issue may be the reason why bitcoin is still reluctant to be adopted as a currency by various companies. This scalability is still one of the things that developers keep thinking about so that bitcoin is really used efficiently as a currency. If this problem can be handled properly, then there is a possibility that large companies in countries that legalize the use of bitcoin as a mean of payment will be interested in adopting this system.

But I firmly believe it will take some time and require support from the community. As an asset that has value, bitcoin has become the asset of choice for traders, investors, whales to reap the profit of trading and investment.
4376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: January 07, 2021, 09:13:57 PM
Barcelona really surprised me by winning against Athletic Bilbao away. They continue their unbeaten streak (7 matches) in the league.
Why are you surprised by this victory, shouldn't Barcelona be the team to be seeded in that match ?
They really deserved to win that game and keep this good record.

But they are aware of one thing that they are very unstable in general. I don't give them much chance to be the champions this time.
If you are not one of the Barcelona supporters, you still might not let them win the Laliga if you are the coach of the opposing team. LOL
But your opinion is still justified that Barcelona is having its ups and downs and looks inconsistent. But the last 7 games are proof that they are not finished.
4377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 07, 2021, 09:05:19 PM
If you count last year the games are 27.

Milan is the top team in Italy as points are done in 2020.
I only focus on Serie A, not in other competitions that AC Milan is participating in. But great, they are one of the best teams of 2020, in my opinion.

Milan needed Ibrahimovic, he could create dangerous moments at the goal, and thus keep the opponent's backline in suspense throughout the match.
You got my point well. There are still 20 games left to play for AC Milan in 2021 for Serie A. All teams have the potential to lose in time, including AC Milan. I just think that they have to have a strong defense to end the season perfectly.
4378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 07, 2021, 07:00:25 PM
Ouep that win could boost the team psychologically but we all know how things are going on Serie A.. positive results are unsustainable. The good thing is Juve winning this game without Morata, thanks to Chiesa nice performance Wink
AC Milan's first defeat has been the most talked about so far. Juventus became the first team to beat Milan after 15 unbeaten encounters. I don't think that this result should be a big surprise for many, but Milan's failure to maintain their unbeaten run this season really makes Juventus fans happy.

I'm sure AC Milan are still in a pretty good mental state after this defeat, not much has changed in the table because they are still at the top. Without Ibrahimovic, AC Milan lacked strength up front and that made their goal taps weak.
4379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do if Bitcoin hits $1m in the future? on: January 07, 2021, 06:45:51 PM
The OP's question will likely lead to a similar answer in general, namely that no one knows the future of bitcoin whether it reaches $1M, $2M or more. I only hope that bitcoin will continue to grow and always be accepted by the wider community and adopted as a payment system. If adoption increases and continues to grow, the price will be maintained even though the volatility cant be eliminated.

If bitcoin reaches the price of $1M then I believe the government's involvement in regulatory matters will be higher and they will probably regulate it more tighter. Maybe I will be the reader of thousands of communities who are disappointed that they don't buy bitcoin today if the price reached $1M in the future. LOL
4380  Other / Beginners & Help / Increase Your Alertness Everytime on: January 07, 2021, 06:20:38 PM
The price of bitcoin continues to grow and dominate the market, the market cap is also increasing, that's a really great thing for the bitcoin community around the world. You deserve to have fun because your investment have been successful and some of us even have profit exceeding 100%.

But don't forget that we've been a potential target for scammers, hackers and cybercriminals for the more than a decade since bitcoin became a valuable asset. Many people have been victims in this period and even exchange platform have fallen victim to it. So be careful and don't make you the next victim. At this point I advise anyone here, especially beginners, to be careful and always pay attention to the recommended security measures. This is a lesson not to be forgotten and must be practiced to keep your assets safe.

As long as bitcoin entered the new ATH, I was sure there were lots of Begginers to the forum for various purposes. Many old users returned to the forum and some of them were even detected as users who just woke up from a long sleep, email was changed, password was changed. We don't know if this account is still being used by real users or has been hacked until they prove ownership of the account by signing message. I know maybe this is one of the phenomena when the price of bitcoin has increased rapidly, but whatever it is, you have to be aware of the potential that exists.

Some things to note are:
1. Keep your account safe and do the steps properly.
2. Secure your wallet.
3. Consider not keeping your assets on an exchange.
4. Consider not keeping it in one place, because if something happens then not all of your assets will be lost even though it is very rare today.
5. Never believe in the lure of an unclear investment.
6. Don't easily trust anyone you don't know either online or in the real world.
7. Don't be too excited to tell the people around you about the current value of your investment as it will increase the risks such as robbery and so on.

I know the points above may already fall into the general category as a reminder to the wider community regarding security. But it doesn't hurt if I keep trying to tell everyone here and remind them to always be safe. One small effort may be worth putting into practice especially with regard to safety. So stay alert and be careful because we are always potential targets of criminals. Remember that our bitcoin are entirely our responsibility to secure them.
