4361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: July 13, 2022, 12:01:28 PM
Seems everyone is hating on Teofimo Lopez hehehe, I'm not surprised though, arrogant and even if he lost to George Kambosos, he and his father thinks he win that fight.

And I would agree that this is a cherry pick fight made by Top Rank, no question about it, picking a fighter that Lopez might score a win by a knock out, if not show us his talent again. Still one month to go and for sure we gonna see Sr talk about his son and then bad mouth Campa.

4363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 13, 2022, 08:25:10 AM
In my opinion, I respect every rising star and those who follow his steps, but with Ja's statement, it's easier to say than to prove it with converted achievements,.

We don't have to overreact to this kid's opinion and view. Everyone knows that if they compare themselves to Michael Jordan, that's high praise for the Legend since it means everyone wants to surpass his achievement. It's not challenging the Legend.

With that mindset of Ja Morant, I'm expecting to him show better and best plays next season. He also should work out on staying healthy all seasons. Players with great leaping ability and athleticism are sometimes more prone to injury. He should play wise while keeping safe although injuries can't be avoided.

I have been praising Ja Morant about his ability even if he's not that gifted with height because the kid can lift up his team and can even move like he's unstoppable to the point where we can say that this kid might be good and all but his skills will make him prone to injury just like Derrick Rose on his prime.

The kid has still lot to improve on the ring and he has all the time because he's still young, but he need to choose his battles wisely because that hype his making won't be around when he is stuck with an injury and saying that line that he'd beat MJ is an overstatement. There's noting to argue about MJ's skill.

So true, this young generation obviously didn't seen the GOAT play, for them it was the closest, Kobe or Lebron James. And even after Jordan retires, there's so many of them calling him out and he just destroy them one on one.

Of course, Ja Morant maybe can over over MJ if ever they play in the same era, but the athleticism can't be compare, for me they are almost even. But the mentally will be on MJ as he destroys everyone in a era wherein defense in the key.

Anyone on women's boxing? There is a unification fight at middleweight,

Claressa Shields vs Savannah Marshall:

Quote
Briton Savannah Marshall will challenge Claressa Shields for the undisputed middleweight championship at the O2 Arena in London on 10 September.

Marshall holds the WBO title, while American Shields is the WBC, IBF, WBA and Ring magazine champion.

https://www.bbc.com/sport/boxing/61979513

Here is the heated press conference:  Best Highlights from the Claressa Shields vs Savannah Marshall Press Conference | SEPT 10 ESPN+.

Current odds for this fight is: Shields 1.86, Marshall 1.84. So it's a very close odds so far, so I'm expecting this to be a great fight in O2 arena.

Take note that Marshall beat Shields during their amateur days so this might be a revenge storyline in this fight.
4365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum’s failure to close above $1.3K on: July 11, 2022, 11:20:07 PM
What do you expect in a bear market? I guess support and resistance could be invalidated as the price is really going to be very volatile. And even if we have some good news, the price might go up a bit but then again after reaching some high, speculators and traders are going to sell for instant profit in this worsening condition.

So can see the same with bitcoin, going as low as $17,500 and then bouncing to $20k which still remains as the next resistance is $28k which is very difficult to break in a bear market.
4366  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Registers as a Digital Assets Service Provider in Spain on: July 11, 2022, 10:58:58 PM
But there will be such time that CZ will be so powerful, just saying.
Judging by their current market share, they're already powerful enough and that's not a good thing!

True, even in our country, Binance already in the market and has been making their presence felt already. However, since we have a new government,  BSP Urged to Ban Binance For Illegally Operating in the Philippines.

So not just in Europe, Binance has been in Asian countries already. So it's not going to be smooth sailing for him.
4367  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What happened to preev.com? on: July 11, 2022, 10:29:57 PM
There are threads similar to this,

I must admit that I also used preev and I think majority of us at one time in their crypto journey.

Specially in the Currency exchange, preev has been the go rate for their trade. Perhaps people need to find alternatives like CMC or https://bitsusd.com/.
4368  Economy / Gambling discussion / [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: July 11, 2022, 10:06:17 PM
So Teo Lopez is back, after the humiliating lost against George Kambosos, he is making his comeback, but this time he has move up in weight. He will be fighting a dangerous and experience boxer in Campa next month.

Quote
“I’m thankful to be back August 13. I’ve been looking forward to this since my last fight,” Lopez said. “I’ve had a lot of complications, but we’re looking towards the future and are on to bigger and better things. I’m here to take over the 140-pound division just like I did at 135. Like always, I’m going to bring excitement to the sport of boxing. The Takeover is still in full effect. You don’t want to miss it.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/teofimo-lopez-pedro-campa-full-undercard-set-august-13-las-vegas--167578

Another good match making on the part of Top Rank, in paper it appears that Campa is a good match against Lopez. True, but I think Lopez will beat him convincingly at 140 lbs and then Teo making some noise in this 140 lbs division. Unified champion Josh Taylor has relinquished some of the belts he have, and there will be elimination and interim fights and maybe Lopez will figure in one of those to have a belt in this division.
4369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 11, 2022, 03:18:54 PM
It looks like Ja Morant went overboard with his statement, hehehe

Ja Morant says he'd beat Michael Jordan in his era

Well I guess who have been following basketball for years and see Michael Jordan plays will not agree with Morant here.

He needs to get a ring, not just 1 or 2 or 3, he need to get 7, be a two way player, MVP's and beat everyone in his generation. So far he has none of that.
4370  Economy / Economics / Re: Thoughts on CBDC's and long-term effect on the cryptomarket on: July 11, 2022, 12:00:43 PM
I don't know if we can take this as a bullish sign, those who says "Yes", don't know what CBCD is. It's just fiat per se, in digital form, but worst. Because the government can track you down when you used it. Of course they are going to force or become a mandatory for their people to be on CBCD, specially if you are going to transaction with government agencies. I don't think it will have an impact to crypto though, I guess we are still going to used coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum more if possible. And if government are going to force CBCD's then so be it, but it doesn't mean the death of crypto, we will have to take advantage of both of them.
4371  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: July 11, 2022, 11:00:55 AM
Chet Holmgren kaya bang maging Giannis Giannis Antetokounmpo?

4372  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for July on: July 11, 2022, 10:34:45 AM
A 2nd retest under 20k is at least 50% likely I think.   If we only test the lows it would be quite calm by comparison to the extremes in prospect, I was expecting worse with this great upset in two main components to dollar.  Its an external shock this time is how I see it as Euro and YEN weakness at the same time and yet the FED raises rates and other events, all adds up

Or more likely a retest to the previous all time low of $17,500 will be met in the following months. I'm not sure but is there a FED rate announcement this month? If there is then definitely, this kind of scenario (testing all time high), is likely going to happen.

We've seen one government already being affected by the war and the oil price and the pandemic that it can't sustain, and they declared bankruptcy and the government falling, and that is Sri Lanka.
4373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Merit For Signature Campaign !!! on: July 11, 2022, 10:00:58 AM
The signature campaign is one of the interesting campaigns in a bounty campaign that not only gives additional knowledge about crypto but also gives more rewards to a campaign. but only certain levels can follow it. How can we go to class??

It should be the other way around, before joining any bounty campaign, it's better if you have knowledge already. Because if you are in a campaign, usually you have to post x numbers in a given week to be able to get paid. So how can you post quality in this community if you don't have any knowledge of crypto topics in the first place. So I would advise you to get knowledge first, just go around the community, get a feel of the discussions, maybe ask a few questions yourself and interact. And then after you are confident and familiarized of the topics then maybe you can try to join campaigns and see if the manager are going to accept you base on your previous posting habits.
4374  Economy / Gambling / Re: Macaw.casino ⚡ Powered by the lightning network ⚡ Instant withdrawals ⚡ No KYC on: July 11, 2022, 09:39:20 AM
⚡ The maintenance work is complete, the website is back up ⚡

Now I cant find the privacy policy and terms page after the maintenance, did you remove them? If you did remove these pages, means that you have no terms and policy at all now? One more question, how about the fairness of your game? I do not see any information related to the fairness of your games, does it mean that your games are not provably fair?

Yeah, I thought that they are going to update them with the new TOS specially about the provably fair of their casinos.

Unfortunately, I can't find them despite the update. Anyhow, we can still gave them time to do that. I mean they are here for constructive criticism so let's hope it will be included in their next maintenance phase.

And it's better if they are going to inform us prior to the maintenance so that there will be no surprises. That's how most of the services are going, not just gambling sites per se.
4375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: July 11, 2022, 09:15:26 AM
in terms of Crawford, he will have now that chance after moving partway from Arum, if this negotiation
materialized the money that at stake will give him a decent amount of earnings.

I'm pretty sure that this fight between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence will be a blockbuster fight and expect more money to flow here. No need for any hype honestly as these fight takes several years in the making and most boxing fans waited for this. Aside from that, Spence Jr.'s PPV and ticket sales are impressive and always sold out early right away when his fights were just officially announced.

Money is not a problem here. Legacy is the most and being an undisputed welterweight champion is a great achievement.

Errol Spence on Terence Crawford fight: “It’s closer now than it’s ever been”

Yep, I read this article as well, so definitely a lot of things have been going on in the background and it seems that it is really closer more than ever and hopefully this can be made this year.

Otherwise, if negotiation falls apart then definitely this fight might not be made again. Crawford has been very vocal about it, severing his tie with Bob Arum and then maybe accepting the lesser purse. But if that is not enough to make this happen, then I don't know what will be the hindrance.
4376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People are not only gambling to win but they are buying entertainment on: July 11, 2022, 08:44:15 AM
Many of us here will say that we are gambling for entertainment but this is the same reason why compulsive gamblers put in more money they want to feel high, so if you say I gamble for fun does this mean you admit you are buying entertainment to produce adrenalin and endorphins, so you keep on putting more money to get that feeling regardless if you win or lose.

That is part of it I guess, there is no entertainment if you don't spend money. And casino's are the perfect example of it. You play let's say in a land base casino, the moment you step it, adrenaline is already rushing, you see lots of people playing winning big and then some live bands performing, drinks everywhere. And so you are suckered into that energy, you lost control of everything, endorphins shoot up in your body and you are 'high' and wanted to gamble your money.
4377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 11, 2022, 08:18:25 AM
Just finished watching this documentary for Steph Curry titled "Silenced" by Trice High.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZuWSiWQLN0
If you are a Curry fan this will touch your heart and will feel the enormous weight that was lifted in Steph Curry's shoulder after being bashed and criticized about how he won't be back to the championship and how he cannot bring a team to the top.
The title was spot on. That's the correct word to define it all. Inspiring for NBA players that are aiming for the same goal.
"What are they going to say now?"

Thanks for the link, I will watch it later though.

But if you see Curry's emotional outburst after game 6, you will feel that something has been lifted in his shoulder winning the NBA this season when there have been a lot of chatters and noise behind team. He is not that vocal though, it as Green but they have walk the talk and so they silence all their critics with this huge win. For sure they will have to find another one just to bash or harsh critic them at the start of the new season, specially if they started on a bad note because the supporting cast has all gone now.
4378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 16 on: July 11, 2022, 07:53:41 AM
I try to look at the ticket sales and it seems that there are a lot of tickets available.

Not saying that Garcia doesn't have the crowd draw, but it seems his dancing partner is the problem as Fortuna is not a A-class fighter. The fight is next week already, so hopefully we will see a block buster fighter and tickets are are sold, just saying.
4379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Grand Lotto Winner on: July 11, 2022, 07:27:21 AM
In a country like ours? yeah, might be good to hide their names and faces because they might be a target for criminals here. But I think there are countries who exposes their lottery winners, maybe just to proved that someone really won their lottery and it's not rigged or something. So it's really up to the winners on how they are going to protect themselves and their winnings too. They might be a target for their relatives hehehe, we know how Filipinos are, who have a lot of extended families. Hopefully, the winner will learn where to invest the money they have won so that they can live a better life with their children and their next generation.
4380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: July 10, 2022, 11:58:25 AM
I guess majority of us here lost our bet on Magsayo. When I saw how the round is going in the first 4, I said to myself that this is a difficult fight for Mark and he will have to knock out Vargas in order to win. He won't win on the judges score card for sure.

There is no cheating, it was a fair score by the judges,  Magsayo was just short of his effort but it is what it is. He has to accept and move forward. If there will be a rematch good, if not then Magsayo needs to double up and work very hard again.
