4381  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will The FED pivot? on: December 22, 2022, 05:53:34 PM
More and more people are starting to publicly call for an end to these rate increases. Unfortunately for all of us, the Fed is responsive to data, they are absolutely horrible at predicting things. So bad in fact it’s hard to believe it isn’t done on purpose so they can manipulate investments and grow their own balance sheet. When will they decide they’ve inflicted enough pain? Who knows. I just know they’d stop now if they cared about the people on main st.
4382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are your plans for the coming year? on: December 22, 2022, 05:49:02 PM
My plan is to do it all.  Mine shitcoins (and immediately trade them for bitcoins).  Mine Bitcoin directly.  Stack sats though whatever programs are available to me.  Continue earning bitcoins by participating in advertising campaigns, selling goods, and performing freelance work.  Buy BTC and remove them from exchanges as I'm able.  Continue to grow traditional assets to build a passive income source to continue buying BTC.  Spread the word to others that we're at the low end of the 4 year cycle and it's time to buy again before everyone else.
4383  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Evidence In Nord Stream Sabotage Doesn't Point To Russia: Washington Post on: December 22, 2022, 05:46:30 PM
Obviously it wasn't Russia who sabotaged the Nord Stream pipeline.  The US was being congratulated by it just afterwards from other world leaders, they have images of US helicopters hovering over the site, Biden himself said that we would do it publicly months before it happened...  I really don't like this misinformation campaign by our current US leadership.  Given their push for sustainable energy though, I can see why the Biden administration wouldn't want it to get out that they're actually ecological terrorists that just committed one of the worst sins against our planet that mankind has ever seen.
4384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 22, 2022, 05:43:28 PM
Looks like we've got 2 games on the schedule for today as we get ready for the Christmas day NBA extravaganza.  First up is the Spurs vs the Pelicans.  I'm thinking the Pelicans should take this one easily the way they've been playing this season and the Spurs are still looking like a tank for the draft candidate.  Then we've got the Wizards and the Jazz.  I think this game could go either way.  I tend to think the Wizards have a better shot than the oddsmakers are giving them against Utah though.  I think they may clear the spread...
4385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 22, 2022, 08:15:09 AM
Warriors is tanking faster as I expected. They don't just lose but they got completely destroyed. First New York and now Brooklyn put ridiculously high numbers on their basket. Nets made almost 30 points gap in first quarter. That first half 91 points was the franchise record for Nets. In third period Nets slow down for obvious reasons and Warriors made the gap to just 21 points but it went up again after Patty Mills came in. Morris also scored with high percentage. Durant and other starters rested for last quarter.

Knicks' 8 game winning streak end tonight but Nets have 7 game streak now. Let's see if they can pass this. It might be close for them as well as they will play with Bucks and Cavs back to back. It's hard to recover from that fixture.

You can’t just lose the best shooter of all time and expect your team to continue playing at the same level. Not having Stephen Curry is a massive loss and I expect it’s going to be rough in for the Warriors until he returns. They should still be able to beat the below .500 teams and hopefully can keep themselves in the playoff race for when they get Steph back.
4386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Dogecoin Dead ? on: December 21, 2022, 06:10:30 PM
It doesn't seem dead to me.  Sure, with the crypto market down all the speculators have left and a majority of the speculators this cycle were here for the meme coins.  The price is still insanely high for those of us who have been around a while and with Elon seemingly working to make DOGE the currency of Twitter, I think there's a good chance that DOGE's best days are still ahead of it.  If you are just a casual watcher of crypto on Twitter though, you'd no doubt probably think that Dogecoin died and is no longer in use based on the lack of promoting happening.
4387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 21, 2022, 06:07:04 PM
Another thing is, I said UFC is not in its prime. There are two reasons for that.

First of all as far as we know the pay-per-view is decreasing day by day. And obviously, I am obliged to say that prime time was when Conor McGregor was in his prime. He was bringing unbelievable numbers for Dana White. So, I believe that was prime time for UFC. And the popularity of UFC is certainly not the same as it was at that time.

And secondly, I am sure we are all aware of a certain wrestling organization named WWE. I don’t think Dana White is doing a good enough job when something fake is generating more annual revenue. I want UFC to surpass the popularity of WWE.

I don't think you really explain the reasons behind those things.  First off, the UFC has been wildly successful as a business.  When it started taking investment at crazy valuations it was pumping tons of money into the brand to boost that valuation.  I think now we're at the stage where the investments have been made, the brand was built, and now they're collecting the money.  Once the money machine is running, they don't need that same focus on getting their brand introduced to the masses.

WWE is a money machine that has been rolling for a long time.  It's ok to not beat them in every measurement every year.
4388  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 21, 2022, 06:00:54 PM
I can't get over the fact that the last couple of months have been extremely stable for Bitcoin while traditional assets have been all over the place.  It seems like people would rather be holding BTC than the S&P 500 at the moment.  Even Elon Musk is saying on Twitter that smart people he knows are shorting the S&P 500 while he continues to hold his BTC.  If we do avert a recession and the Fed is successful with their 'soft landing' I think we will see the mother of all Bitcoin rallies.  I'm starting to see the perfect storm on the other side of the valley.
4389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 21, 2022, 05:57:19 PM
I'd say the Knicks and Nuggets win tonight.

Hey, look at that.  I got myself a decent parlay win.  Smiley

Lots of games tonight but none of them televised where I am, unfortunately.  I do like a couple of the matchups.  Houston Rockets vs Orlando Magic to see who is the worst in the league.  Lakers vs Kings is usually a good game as they were rivals back in the Shaq, "Sacramento Queens" era.  If Stephen Curry wasn't out the Golden State Warriors vs Brooklyn Nets game would be a great one to watch, but still might be interesting although the Nets should take that win.
4390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino bonus is it worth it? on: December 21, 2022, 05:52:56 PM
I follow Duelbits Christmas giveaway since day one and I still can't find the challenge that I know that I can win.

Does completing bonus is still possible and profitable or it's just like chasing the wind?

There are lots of threads about this sort of thing that have been debated ad nauseam, but giving my two cents...  It seems like you've somewhat answered your own question.  You say you've been searching for giveaways and haven't found one you think you can win, so right now you are chasing the wind a bit, but being realistic.  It seems like you will know when a bonus is within your means to complete and if it with be worth it for you to try.  I'd say if you keep doing what you're doing you'll probably select the right bonus when it comes along, and will save yourself the heartache of chasing the wrong one.
4391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Throwback: Bitcoin was $64k today, a year ago. on: December 21, 2022, 05:50:07 PM
Hard to believe we're 14 months from the high already.  I must admit that this drop didn't hurt as bad as prior ones in previous cycles.  Hopefully things repeat and we start moving up from here to the good times once again.  With a recession closing in, rates increasing, and overall chaos in the government, it seems like maybe it will be different this time?  I'm not betting on it, but I sure hope we don't see a massive recession that brings an end to crypto.  I have a feeling if we do see a bad recession, it will be the biggest test yet that Bitcoin has faced.
4392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Core Scientific Firm to Pay Debt Through Bitcoin Mining on: December 21, 2022, 05:47:38 PM
I don't really see them having too many other options.  Their mining gear is likely worth pennies on the dollar compared to what they paid, and they would have to pay more costs to even sell it.  With their infrastructure likely already in place, the logical thing would be to continue mining to pay what they can to their creditors.  However, this is much pretty the end of their business, as not being able to stack during the downtimes makes it difficult to compete when things get good.  I'm guessing when you hit bankruptcy that is less of a concern though.
4393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which kind of situation will force you to sell? on: December 21, 2022, 05:45:41 PM
The most common reasons I think would be job loss or health issues.  Health insurance rarely covers all the costs for major accidents and can leave people with piles of bills that can bankrupt them.  I would imagine in this scenario people would choose to sell their investments.  A loss of income can also force people to have to dip into their savings and do what they can to get by.  I think health issues that aren't covered fully by insurance is likely the #1 reason though.  Jobs can be replaced, but you can't wave a magic wand and make bills go away.
4394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Using Bonus Buy or Not Using Bonus Buy? on: December 21, 2022, 03:50:18 PM
I have often played slot games at some trusted casinos these past few days. While playing, I often buy Bonus Buys and I do that in many slot games.

Which is the most profitable or generates the most profit between buying a Bonus Buy or playing normally without buying a Bonus Buy?

This made me curious because I tried it in several games such as Gate of Olympus, Mental, Fire in the Hole, Sword of Ares, Land of Zenith and others. And I see that buying Bonus Buy is more profitable. Is it really like that? What slot games often allow you to win more money by using Bonus Buy?

Note: Buying Bonus Buy allows us to win more money, while playing normally does not guarantee we can win some money.

I haven’t watched many gambling streams and haven’t done any online slot machine playing, but from what I have seen it seems like the bonus buys are what it’s all about. Granted the little watching experience I have is with YouTubers betting massive sums of money and either making a ton or losing it all immediately, but they seem fond of the bonuses for what that’s worth.
4395  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just lost $4000 because of addresses starting with "bc1p" on: December 20, 2022, 06:31:59 PM
I never once sent to wrong address before now.. I haven't been doing too much with crypto the past year or so.. but DAMN I can't believe someone thought this was a good idea. :/

Bad things don't happen until they do...  I am sorry that this happened to you.  It sucks to lose money.  I think most of us have been there though.  Bitcoin is a learning experience and hopefully you've learned a lesson that will end up saving you more than $4,000 down the line.  My advice would be to use this as a learning experience and continue looking into what else you may not know about Bitcoin so that you can have more knowledge that will someday pay dividends to you.  I also wish you good luck in locating the receiver and maybe recovering the funds somehow.
4396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 20, 2022, 06:27:26 PM
A couple of well matched up games happening tonight on nation TV.  The crew at TNT will be watching the Steph-less Warriors take on the Knicks.  Seems crazy that the Knicks are such favorites, even with Steph out, but they've been winning a lot this year, surprisingly.  Then the Grizzlies and the Nuggets...  You don't get to see Ja very much on national TV so I am expecting some highlights.  Jokic should put on the usual MVP performance as well.  If I were to guess...  I'd say the Knicks and Nuggets win tonight.  Both games should be close though.
4397  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the Mt. Gox coins affect Bitcoin’s price in August? on: December 20, 2022, 03:18:19 PM
Yet another email has been sent out by the mtgox team reminding creditors that they need to select a payout method by January 10th in order to be included in the payout distribution. It is starting to feel like these coins might actually be rejoined with their rightful owners after a nearly decade long bankruptcy period. I’m actually a believer we may see these coins in wallets by next summer…
4398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: December 19, 2022, 08:43:13 PM
I will always remember this finale as being among one of the bests. If we didn't see that comeback by France it was going to be a really boring ending for a World Cup. Because Argentina were literally in full control of the game unlike the expectations. France were like they weren't aware of playing in a final game in the biggest tournament in the world.

However it feels like Argentina will miss these times a lot from now on. Maybe they will need to wait another 30+ years to achieve another title who knows. Because after Messi's retiring from the national team we never know how they will react to this.

Probably the best final of the last World Cup I've seen... France really managed to come back incredibly well and even almost won that game... 3-3 is a very big score for a game like this... Probably no one expected so many goals to be scored... In general there were many surprises in this Cup, for example, that Germany again failed to get out of the group, or that Morocco reached the semi-finals... The final was no exception...
If the comparison is over the past few world cups, maybe this is indeed a very good final, especially for the previous world cup, it wasn't as hot as this time.
Both teams put in a very good performance and I appreciate that. Argentina and France were neither willing to budge for 90 + 30 extra time and this truly deserved a final.

Not just the Final.  I thought the entire tournament had a level of hype I'm not sure I've ever seen from soccer in the US before.  I had friends talking about it that I had no idea even knew the World Cup existed.  People with no knowledge of soccer at all (not far from me) weighing in on their opinion of who the GOAT is based on this one game...  I'm not sure how I feel about it, but as long as soccer games don't start taking over my basketball games on the TV, I'm good with it.  I really enjoyed the World Cup this year and am curious if next year will grow on this showing.
4399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: December 18, 2022, 09:19:29 PM
Messi and Mbappe shone in this match, even though in the end it was Messi who won the title, but we cannot forget to appreciate Mbappe who played very well during this World Cup. Messi won his first title and this was a very valuable trophy before he decided to retire later. In total there were 7 goals scored by Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, a very great battle.
Congratulations to Argentina for completing the World Cup perfectly.

I hate to see team sports boiled down to whoever the individual is that scores the most goals is the best, but there's no denying that Mbappe and Messi made a huge impact for their teams today.  I'm happy that Messi has himself a solid GOAT argument now and I was hoping Argentina would get the victory for that reason.  They made it interesting by letting their 2-0 lead disappear, but in the end everything seems like it is as it should be.  A lot of people seem happy by not just the outcome, but the excitement of the game.
4400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: December 18, 2022, 05:13:22 PM
I was getting ready to congratulate Messi on being the goat and then all the sudden things changed real quick. Looks like it’s going to be an exciting game down to the wire, which goes along with how this whole World Cup has gone from the beginning. It’s nail biting time now. Who’s going to be the one to take the cup home to their country? Seems like France has the momentum now.
