4381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If Musk doesn't tweet Dogecoin, can it still soar? on: May 05, 2021, 03:52:42 PM
Dogecoin is a coin without team and core technology, but Musk made it appear in the general public. Many people who are not cryptocurrency traders are buying Dogecoin, just like buying BTC. Why does it succeed? Is it just because of Musk? Dogira, Shiba, HOGE, who will be the next Dogecoin?

Or is there only only one unique Dogecoin?

Yeah copycat coins never pan out they are just trying to ride the wave.  No one cares about them and are honestly pretty much built as a scam from the get go.  Never deal with coins trying to ride a particular wave you will undoubabtley get stung.

How about the Most Improved Player race discussion. Who's your pick?
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/nba-most-improved-player-race-knicks-julius-randle-rockets-christian-wood-among-top-candidates-for-award/
Quote
1. Julius Randle - PPG24.2 RPG10.3 BPG.25
2. Christian Wood - PPG21 RPG9.6 BPG1.17
3. Jerami Grant - PPG22.5 RPG4.6 BPG1.06
4. Michael Porter Jr. - PPG18.9 RPG7.5 BPG.98
5. Chris Boucher - PPG13.6 RPG6.7 BPG1.86

Michael Porter Jr. shined more after Murray was injured and his skills floated being a badass at 3 point line and helping Jokic with the rebounds.
Jerami Grant, no questions he showed something different during the playoffs last year with the Nuggets.
But of all this names, Julius Randle is on the spotlight. He is the one carrying the Knicks now and even put them back on the map for a playoffs chance.
Even better, he helped seal it taking a nice spot at number 4 in the Eastern Conference.
I think Randle will take this award this year.

I agree with you, Randle is a big reason for the success of the Knicks, he has transformed into being a threat outside too, that's why he is so unpredictable as he has a game inside and outside, and teams should watch out for the Knicks this season or in the playoffs, as they might pull a big upset. It's nice to award the most improved player coming from the most improved team, and that team is undoubtedly the New York Knicks.

He definitely changed his game shooting the lights out from beyond 3pt.  He is a match up nightmare now that he has a serious outside game.  Can now take smaller guys inside and bigger guys anywhere on the court and stretch the floor.  Even in his bad games he is getting all his teammates involved.  They are playing as a complete team right now and it all starts with Randle.  Couldn't imagine the noise in the garden with a full house in the playoffs.  Been awhile lol

Lakers looking good without Lebron James, leading by 10 against the Nuggets. Anthony Davis is having the best game since he comes back from injury.

Not an impressive win though. The Lakers still needs to improve their ball rotation and plays. Lucky their bench was draining some threes from Gasol and Matthews, and a good winning block from AD at the end of the game.
They were up 10 down the stretch and the Nuggets was able to close the gap at 2.
So, again not an impressive win. I know there was no LeBron and so the Nuggets has no Murray as well.

Indeed. They should use Marc Gasol more. They are too inclined to use Drummond only but forgot Gasol can shoot outside which is a big threat for a center.
If they can open up space thru the rim then they could attack more using Davis.
They are lucky Dozier was injured and the Nuggets were having a difficult time finding their offense while Porter was also having a bad night.
It's a good start, perhaps they can now find some determination with this win against a team from the top.

Where is Kuzma? 31 minutes 6 points. This should be the time where he could shine most while Lebron is still resting. He had his minutes and was good against the Raptors. No consistency.

what we witnessed is another proof that Kuzma is inconsistent, I think he would not last with the Lakers, probably next season he will be traded if he will not improve his game. He can score 30 points at one night, and the next night he will struggle, that's not what the Lakers need now, they need someone who can provide for them as Lakers as a team is struggling.

All depends what they get back no sense in trading someone who is perfectly capable of ballin on any given night for trash back.  Dont know his contract situation but you need guys on the lower end of the cap to be able to field the stars they got.

I'd like to see them do some sort of sign and trade with the Pelicans to get Lonzo Ball back.  I think his play style matches well with LeBron, and I think if they had to do the trade for AD over again they would have tossed in Kuzma instead of Lonzo.

What trade do you guys think would work for Kuzma?  He has been praised by his coach lately for doing the little things, but he hasn't mastered how to fill up that stat sheet every night as others have pointed out.

Honestly he just signed a contract 3 years for $40m with the last one being a player option.  That's not bad but thats not great.  Teams would have to want him locked in for multiple years.  Trades are weird.  Without contracts its fairly easy to say this one for that one but contracts screw all of that up.  If I were the Lakers I'd just sit with him generally speaking thats not a terrible contract.

Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) has announced that it has acquired Genamint, Inc., a software company that will help improve and scale the process by which PSA handles trading card submissions. Genamint technology analyzes each trading card in real-time and is able to provide diagnostics, measurements, and detect alterations or other changes made to a card’s surface in an effort to assist human graders. It will also provide unique card identification – or “card fingerprinting” – by identifying the exact card in order to track provenance, resubmissions, condition changes and other attributes over time.

Yeah it is only a matter of time that human eyes won't be used at all.  Humans are imperfect and grading can be done fairly easily by AI if the right amount of smart people create the technology.  Machines are taking over the world!! Lol.  I view this as a good thing as grades will be more true and consistent.  Just wonder what will happen to views on pre and post AI grading.

i wonder if there'll be a premium  on the ones seen by a human eyeball.  maybe they can give this a nickname like "human graded" or "BB" for before bots.

The spread right now between an ungraded card vs. PSA 10 is off the charts on most cards.

I think Mr Stacey was just referencing the way it was graded.  Was it graded by human or by machine.  Agreed raw versus a gem 10er is always a wide difference.

Personally I do think they will be difference in prices a human graded 10 versus a machine graded 10.  Just don't know which way Smiley

Only the first half of the Knicks game but man they are looking good.  11-18 from beyond the arc and just dropped 44 points in the second quarter.  Up by double digits at half away on the second game of an away back to back.  This team is getting hot at the right time.

Hi guys,

a question which i had discussed with some of my friends before:

If you were invested heavy in alts but rather light in btc lets say 30% BTC / 70% alts you made a good profit in dollar.
BUT i have the feeling i wasted so much BTC to buy Alts and right now BTC has surpassed many of them by far.

Do you think it would be wise to sell some Alts for BTC right now?
Or is BTC dominance to high?

Really interested in your thoughts!

Kind regards.

It is NEVER a bad idea to sell some of your alts and go bitcoin especially if you are 70% alts.  When the bear comes it will feast on all these alts.  People are going to lose a historic amount of money unfortunately its just the nature of crypto.  So yes should ypu at some point.  HARD YES for sure.
4388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: May 03, 2021, 10:17:50 PM
Lakers has been bugged by Injuries this year. AD and LeBron hasn't played each other for quite a long time since AD got injured first.
Drummond acquisition made them become more bigger. So, yeah anyone could beat them with speed. Especially when Schröder isn't playing. He plays a major role to the Lakers team.
Now, If the Lakers can't complete their roster fully healthy in the remainder of the season. I'm afraid they'll lose everything.

I'm starting to lose the confidence with them making to the playoffs.
People forget that Lebron is an insane basketball player when he can play at 100%. Cavs were 4th in the league on his last season and he almost took out Warriors on the first game if it wasn't for JR Smith mistake in the end. Sure it wasn't really just him, but 90%+ was all him, that is why I think it is clear that if Lebron comes back and plays with 100% plus you give him AD as well? That is going to be so much different.

I do not think that there is even a slight chance that they could miss the playoffs, they will make it to playoffs for sure and they are going to beat everyone again, he is just that good and he has AD with him as well, AD is also another player who managed to bring his old team into slight success because without him New Orleans was a tanking level bottom team. With this much injury, it was expected for them to lose games obviously.

Yeah any of those cavs teams really didn't have any business being where they were.  Some years boobie Gibson and Anderson A were his main secondary players lol.  Those teams they should have and would have been one of the worst teams in the league without lebron.

If lebron and AD are healthy I feel bad for the other play in teams because they won't have a realistic shot.  I hate watching the Lakers but playoff lebron is fun to watch.

Big week or 2 for the knicks.  On the road against the nuggets, Memphis, suns, Lakers and clippers.  Thats a tough run.  They need to go 3-2 on that run.  Atlanta and heat right behind them with lighter schedules.  Would obviously like to see them in the 4 slot but 5 wouldn't be bad as well.  Just don't like them in the 6 hole starting on the road against the bucks (most likely).  Starts tonight need another W!
4391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - June 6 on: May 03, 2021, 01:34:28 PM
Conor McGregor lost to his gas tank and it was not a big secret that his cardio is his down coming and there is no chance that anyone else let alone a novice like Logan could defeat Mayweather even at 44 years.
Conor McGregor has a lot of supporters who back him up even though he is not having the skills set to defeat elite level boxers nor elite level wrestlers and yet he had a good run in the UFC and he was lucky enough to avoid tough match ups during his rise to stardom and the UFC was helping him avoid those match ups as well and fought only strikers mostly.

I will give Logan Paul a punchers chance and the size advantage but other than that there is no way he could defeat Mayweather with the skill set he has against an elite boxer.

I'm not sure how low the chance of Logan Paul winning this fight, but one thing I know, Mayweather would not allow his record to be ruined, so he will keep winning and if he is still undefeated in exhibition fights, he can still fight another fighter and continue to make money.
Lose or not it wont or doesnt matter because this isnt an official match which means even mayweather would lose this one (impossible) he wont really be breaking his undefeated record since it isnt an official one.
This one might really be rather creating some issue if he would be losing up into a fighter but not really that a boxer. Winning chance is very low and i dont know on why there are people
whom do really believe that he can beat him up and those images above its clear that they are really making some hype in the public to make it look more interesting.
We never know, exhibition fights are very unpredictable, but Mayweather is actually predictable, I believe he will not allow losing whether it's an exhibition fight or a professional fight. Maybe we can ask ourselves, what would Mayweather get if he will allow himself to lose this fight?

If he will bet against himself (which is illegal) then he will make more than he will make as a purse in this fight, but that's only a very slim possibility.

That would never happen.  There are too any ties to Floyd to make it worth it, and besides the only thing bigger and better than his technical ability in the ring is his ego.  NO WAY he allows himself to be beat for money he doesn't need anyway.  Floyd is worth more mo ey than he can actually spend.
4392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - June 6 on: April 30, 2021, 09:14:20 PM
Look at the power punches and percentage landed on each of his fights.  Most are lopsided.

That could be right as most of the fight Mayweather, he won by Unanimous decision, his KO rate is low because he is a defensive fighter, he only KO an opponent when he finds a clear opportunity and he is not careless about it. Maybe we have to understand the frustration of some fans as they expect Floyd to give a toe-to-toe fight where he doesn't just run and hit, but I respect, overall, Floyd is really good.

Yeah absolutely.  If you aren't a true boxing fan and want to see a slugfest you need to watch fights like Gatti vs Ward where dudes don't even get in a defensive position once.  Floyd will bore the average fan to death, meanwhile completely technically destroying his opponent.
4393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I Predict $20,000 for dogecoin in 5years time on: April 30, 2021, 09:12:02 PM
Dogecoin has been different kinds of low level names in the past and in the present but the altccoin seem to have woken up to prominence and maybe it could keep sustaining the move as some altccoins like bnb, xrp, Ada, ethereum have done. Despite the name calling, the growth of dogecoin has really gone pass many so called promising coins and it is now at the 7th spot in crypto ranking.

Therefore, maybe dogecoin can get to $20,000 and above in 5 years time  Grin Grin just like this user predicted the price of bitcoin in the beginning

Ypu do know there is just a little difference in supy between doge and bitcoin right?  20,000 doge would mean the world's has left fiat and every other financial instrument and now exists on the transfer of a memecoin.  In other words go troll somewhere else, why even male a thread like this  Undecided
4394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BNB to $1k? on: April 30, 2021, 09:10:07 PM
Binance Coin has been on the rise ever since ETH's network congestion has grown to a point where the "little guy" is left out of the system. PancakeSwap has been the major platform to lead BNB's price all the way to the moon. At the time of this writing, Binance Coin is the third-largest cryptocurrency by market cap with a price well above $500 per coin. If Binance's project rose from the ground at such a fast pace, what's stopping it from reaching $1k in the future?

What are your thoughts? Do you think BNB will reach $1k soon? If not, why? Is BNB's price sustainable? What's your prediction of BNB's price 5-10 years from now? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Smiley

5-10 years from now is way too far away.  Most likely even happening is that another coin or technology will come along and surpass bnb and eth and most of these other coins.  Enough bear events during that time will scare everyone off and go to the next best coin.  Too much speculation in alts as most don't hold for too long.  A new flavor will come along and push these curre.t coins down the ladder eventually
4395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - June 6 on: April 30, 2021, 09:07:21 PM
This is it. Official dates are now confirmed.
Another money-making scheme to Mayweather again and for sure, there will be more people that will take the bait.
I don't see an upset here and Logan knows that. There is a big money involved after all so just grab the opportunity.
Since Floyd Mayweather is looking to make money what are the odds that we might see a scripted bout against Logan Paul. I am asking this solely because i do remember the exhibition fight between him and Tenshin Nasukawa who was flying around in the ring with every punch Floyd Mayweather landed while he never knocked out anyone who is a boxer in a very long time Grin.

Possible, but I doubt the script will tell us that Floyd are going to lose in this fight. The Tyson vs Jones is scripted, was a draw when everyone saw that Tyson won that fight. I'm not really sure about the Tenshin though, that kid is a bantamweight, so probably he really felt Floyd's power that time.

But as far as Logan Paul goes, he is the heavier, and we haven't sen Floyd weight 160 lbs in any of this fight. So let's see how this fight will pan out, and yes this is easy money for Floyd and his heath is still intact at the end of the day, smart Floydie.
We've seen some fights of Mayweather that are losing but in the end he will be the one who will come out victorious so even this will be a scripted one.
Whatever the result of this, its obvious that this has been made for the sake of money. After all, Floydie will not use the nickname "Money" for nothing right Cheesy. Experience wise its pretty obvious that Mayweather has the advantage. I will not be surprise though if this will end in 6 rounds or below.

Which fights has he thought to have lost but one.  He had a coue close fights the rest of them he clearly won.  After every fight he barely looks like he ever got hit.  Look at the power punches and percentage landed on each of his fights.  Most are lopsided.
4396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: April 30, 2021, 09:02:53 PM
By the way, he will become a free agent after the end of this season, and it would be cool if this performance affected the Mavs' decision to sign a new contract with him.

Mavs will have to choose between him or Josh Richardson. Or even pick totally new player on SG position. If Mavs keep both, then there is no chance to get another good player next season on forward or power forward position where are the weakest.

I guess Mavs should choose the one who is performing well during this season, and IMO, Hardaway Jr. is the better one and he should stay. If they want to save on the salary cap, they probably trade KP as he is a high-value player and they can get good players in exchange for him.

In my opinion yeah you can but the whe point of trading away multiple first round picks for him isn't to just trade him away which you aren't going to get great value back.  There is injury concern for KP and no one will give mays what they gave up for him.  Their best bet is to cross fingers and hope kristaps lives up to the hype at some point

I've heard stuff about coins like:
XRP
HBAR
ADA
DIVI

But im not sure which one to get
Looking for your opinions

If you are fairly new to crypto don't forget about bitcoin.  I mean dip your toes into alts but ypu want to make sure you aren't holding bags of dirt if everything goes upside down.  Alts fall way harder than good old orangecoin
4398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My warning for you all. Alt season will begin soon!!! ALT SEASON STARTED!!! on: April 28, 2021, 08:16:28 PM
I've told you before from this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5325183.0

Then we can see now if bitcoin dominance keep decreasing and now it's around 52% (Once it goes below 50%, alt season will begin)

I know i know, few of you must be saying like this "this is still too early to be alt season, bitcoin dominance will go up soon, alt is shit, there is no any altcoin season"

But if you see this, you will know the reason (compare the current graph to previous alt season on early 2018)

Alts have already made a run bigtime.  If anything I would think so.e profit taking and moving into bitcoin would start to happen as bitcoin hovers around this price.  Coins have 50x-100x without any real reason.  Possibly a whole market drag upwards but eventually it will happen, things will go right back to the bottom for alts.

Big game tonight for the Knicks.  They dropped a winnable game against the suns.  Randall has to have a big rebound game he looked off against the suns.  The east is tight with around 10 games to go and a long west coast road trip ahead.  They can easily slide into the 8-9-10 spot with a couple losses. 😬

They are definitely more hungrier, as their winning streak has ended. So for sure they wanted to win against a lowly Chicago Bulls. I don't think that they can slide to that position though, they have good lead at 4th spot right now in the East.

Heat vs Spurs and then Wizards vs Lakers are the most interesting match tonight, a must win situation. Wizards winning streak is also snapped, but Lakers is back with Anthony Davis on the line up already.

There is only 2 games separating 4th and 7th which is a play in game.  The Knicks end the season on a deadly west coast trip.  Lakers, clippers, suns, Memphis, etc.  Those will all be tough games.  Some of the teams behind them have softer schedules.  If I had to guess, Knicks end up in 6th.  But would be happy if they sat in the 4/5 spot of course
