If the total score is low, the pressure on the opponent is greatly reduced. Here Delhi Capitals Women's collection was so low that Mumbai Indians Women won the match without pressure. Delhi Capitals Women managed to score only 131 runs for the loss of 9 wickets while Mumbai Indians Women managed to win the target losing by just 3 wickets. Here I will also say that Delhi Capitals Women were able to bowl very well. Because Mumbai Indians Women had to play till the last over.
You are comparing women's cricket with men's variety, which is not very accurate. In men's T20 games, 200 is more like the average score. But in women's cricket, 140-150 maybe considered as a good total after 20 overs. Delhi Capitals Women scored 131/9, which was perhaps 20 runs short. But even then, Mumbai took 19.3 overs to reach their target, thanks to some very precise bowling from Marizanne Kapp, Radha Yadav and Shikha Pandey. And also, Harmanpreet Kaur wasted a lot of balls and was batting like a tortoise.

An impressive bowling performance from USA, helps to restrict Canada under 200 runs. In response, things didn't go as planned for USA batters, because of falling wickets at regular intervals. Despite some valiant efforts from USA batsmen, Canada's disciplined bowling help them secure a victory by 26 runs. It was a low scoring match, but both teams putting up a tough fight. So, Canada's consistent performance helped them clinch their second consecutive win in ICC Cricket World Cup qualifiers, while USA team failed. USA lost a match they should have won. If they can't chase down a target of 199, and that too against a weak team such as Canada, how they are going to perform while playing against the full members? And the ICC want to provide them with direct qualification to the 2024 World Cup. I wasn't much interested in the match, because USA team was comprised of 100% foreigners, and the Canada squad had only one native player (Matthew Spoors). But at this point, Canada is at the top of the table, with 4 points from two matches. They won against Jersey in their inaugural match.

Awesome performance Bangladesh team. They are usually not a very strong team in T20 cricket who can score 200 runs. However, they have collected 202 runs in just 17 overs, which is not common picutre in Bangladesh cricket. Litton Das, Rony Talukdar and Shakib have been able to score big total by their determined batting. Bangladesh has already own the series and may be Ireland White Was in the next match if the game does not stop due to rain.
Litton and Rony just slayed the Irish bowlers. What I want to see is whether they can perform at this level, while playing against bowlers such as Pat Cummins, Anrich Nortje and Mark Wood. Litton Das in particular has been in terrific form. He has maintained a T20I strike rate of >140, and an average of greater than 30. In ODI format, he averaged more than 50 in 2022. In case of Rony, he was included in the team after a long gap, after a splendid season for the Rangpur Riders in this year's Bangladesh Premier League.

But in a perfect world I would hope for someone with above 100x odds to win and bring me good profit. There are a few whose odds are >100x. The first name that comes to my mind at this point is that of Bernie Sanders. From the GOP side, we have Josh Hawley, Kevin McCarthy, Donald Trump Jr, Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin. From the Dems we have Tammy Duckworth, Joe Manchin, Amy Klobuchar and Hillary Clinton. At this point, the odds for most of these candidates are very low, but at least for some of them, it will change as the election date approaches. So you may or may not turn lucky, if you select any of these candidates.

As to Kamala Vs Michelle (Obama)... My money would be on Kamala given her VP credentials.
I agree, but as I have mentioned in one of my previous posts, Kamala comes with a lot of past baggage. Her candidacy would remind me of Hilary Clinton's nomination in 2016. A lot of people do support Kamala. But at the same time, a there are a lot of people who hate her. Now the worrying aspect for Democrats is that those who support her to the core are mostly concentrated in deep blue states, while those who rabidly hate her are distributed among the swing states as well as the deep-red states. At this point, Kamala is not a risk that is worth taking for the Democrat party.

Bangladesh is even weaker than Afghanistan in test format. So getting a win against Bangladesh is supposed to be very easy for a team like Sri Lanka. It can be considered an achievement when Sri Lanka can win against bigger opponents like India, Pakistan, or anyone from the top four. Afghanistan hasn't played enough test matches, so that we can measure their performance. Although I would consider teams such as Sri Lanka, West Indies and Bangladesh as lower tier test nations, that doesn't mean that they can't win against teams like Afghanistan. The Afghans are very good in limited overs cricket, but they don't have much experience with the longer format. But the positive thing is that they have a well established 4-day domestic cricket tournament. The future is uncertain though, since the ICC is unable to transfer funds to them.

I disagree. Baseball is popular in many countries(USA, Japan, Korea etc) and Cricket will always be popular at the international level thanks to the rising popularity levels of the T-10 and T-20 formats primarily.
Both FIFA and ICC have always been corrupt, but that never really caused an impact on the popularity of the sports themselves and I am confident that none of this will ever change in the future.
Rich boards will keep getting richer while the poor boards will perish basically.
There are major differences between FIFA and the ICC: 1. In FIFA, every member nation has equal voting right. In ICC only 12 full members have voting rights. 2. FIFA expanded the world cup from 32 to 48 teams. ICC reduced the size from 16 teams to 10. 3. FIFA never allows foreigners in national team. ICC allows a team to be made of 100% foreigners. 4. FIFA fund allocation is based on performance. ICC fund allocation is based on member status. 5. FIFA is mostly administered by ex-players. ICC is mostly run by businessmen with no link to cricket.

More than 700 runs were scored today in the ODI match between Namibia and Papua New Guinea. In the end, however Namibia managed to win by 48 runs. Batting first, Namibia made a total of close to 400, with Gerhard Erasmus, Nikolaas Davin and Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton contributing significantly. In return, Papua New Guinea was on the target until they lost Assad Vala. At that point, they were at 282/4 after 37 overs, and they required exactly 100 runs from 13 overs. It was very much achievable at that stage.

Quite disappointed with the performance from Ireland so far. There seems to be a deterioration in their performance ever since they received the test status. So far they have lost all the matches during the Bangladesh tour by very heavy margins. The absence of Josh Little and Craig Young has made their bowling attack toothless. And then Paul Stirling seems to be out of form, along with the other younger batsmen such as Lorcan Tucker and Harry Tector. Curtis Campher, who is perhaps the most promising player has been volatile.

These are also facts!
Such a great connoisseur of history as you, of course, also knows the Paraguayan War of 1864-1870 against the triple alliance of Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. Paraguay then lost up to 90% of the male population and suffered a crushing defeat, from which it has not recovered to this day, the consequences of that suicidal aggression are felt in Paraguay even after 150 years, it is one of the poorest countries in Latin America. I think it is useful for every Ukrainian to learn this historical lesson. During War of the Triple Alliance, it is estimated that Paraguay lost 69% of its total population. If you apply the same ratio to Ukraine, you will get 25 million dead people, which is almost equal to the total number of deaths the USSR suffered during WW2. There were several indirect consequences as a result of the war. One consequence was the destruction of the Spanish-speaking population in Paraguay. Guarani speakers became the majority as a result of high losses suffered by the Spanish speakers and that situation prevails to this day. In Ukraine, the situation is exactly the opposite. Ukrainian army is using ethnic minorities as cannon fodder (Russians, Hungarians and Romanians), in order to make Ukraine a mono-ethic state.

Yes but green energy has one significant drawback - it's expensive. And now, while the World economy hasn't recovered from covid blow and war blow swift migration to green energy is dangerous, because of huge expenses. Inflation, debt, layoffs etc etc and rapid shift to green energy is additional stress for common people. It should be done step-by-step and with some caution.
Another problem with green energy is that it is not that "green" anymore. Production of EVs require huge amounts of Cobalt and Lithium, and extraction of these minerals has resulted in considerable ecological damage. And then the obvious fact that green energy is expensive. In developed nations, people maybe able to afford electricity at $0.30 per KWh. But in the third world, that would mean less money to spend on food and medical care. The only affordable version of green energy is nuclear, but the tree-huggers are rabidly against it.

After the abandoned match and point deduction I feel Srilanka is pretty much out of the contention for a direct qualify and so is WI. SA would easily qualify for the world cup as they will be playing against Netherlands.
WI, Srilanka and Zimbabwe will be part of the qualifier tournament that is scheduled to happen in June. If I am correct only two teams from this qualifier would end up being part of the world cup. If you are a Srilankan fan then your team still can qualify for the cup.
Well.. let's wait until 31st March. It is still too early to make assumptions. In case Sri Lanka wins the match on Friday, then there is a small chance. Netherlands is the team that defeated England multiple times in the past, during ICC tournaments. The two matches against South Africa are their last matches in the ODI super league, and I am sure that they will put maximum effort to win these matches. And the Super League has been shelved by the ICC from next season onwards. Therefore the Dutch knows that it is now or never.

Alzarri Joseph's 4th over can be considered as the turning point for this match as he dismissed the most reliable batsman R Hendricks for just 9 runs to save the team from defeat. He took two more wickets in that over, Parnell, Klassen helping the West Indies win. But Markram had a great performance in the last over, he was able to take 18 runs in the last over but unfortunately 26 in the last over was almost impossible. Anyway congratulations to West Indies team for winning today's match.
With this win West indies won the series 2-1. I didn't watch the match but they needed 35 runs in last 2 overs and in 19th over Joseph picked 3 wikcets and the match turned towards West Indies otherwise 35 runs on 12 balls is something you can achieve. Another high scoring game where 433 runs were scored. Second T20I between Bangladesh and Ireland will be played today. Bangladesh are one up in the series and they are favorite today as well. Bangladesh won series against England 3-0 recently. Actually I am surprised to see that West Indies still remain competitive in the T20 format. And this time they won the series without any of their heavyweights such as Narine, Russell and Pollard. Rovman Powell lead an inexperienced side, with support from Nicholas Pooran, Brandon King, Johnson Charles and Alzarri Joseph. And South Africa lost the series just because of their poor bowling. Their batsmen were exceptional, but bowlers leaked too many runs. And yesterday it was the turn of Kagiso Rabada, Wayne Parnell and Lungi Ngidi to go over 10 runs per over mark.

Sri Lanka had a big decline. In recent memory, I can only remember them winning against Bangladesh. And that was also when Bangladesh was not performing well at all. I thought that was going to work like a confidence booster for Sri Lanka. But that certainly did not boost the confidence enough. I am pretty sure that if Sri Lanka plays against Bangladesh in t20 format right now, they are going to lose.
Anyway, I am actually doubtful about Sri Lanka being able to qualify for the ODI world cup. At least the performance is not giving confident vibes.
If you look at their performance during the last 3 years, you can witness a clear pattern. They have performed well at times. Back in 2021, Sri Lanka whitewashed West Indies 2-0 in a test series that was hosted by them. But then, the next series was held in India against Indians, and the outcome was predictable. To their credit, after that they had an away victory against Bangladesh. But in terms of capability, Bangladesh is considered as one of the weaker teams. Their best win in this season came against Australia at Galle, when they defeated the visitors by an innings and 39 runs in 2022.

Yes, the 16 stadiums that the teams will use during the world cup games are already ready, nothing will need to be built from scratch, just some reforms, improvements and expansions will be necessary. Why that? Because these three countries actually play football outside the world cup. Qatar, on the other hand, never had a Football tradition, they should never have hosted a FIFA World Cup, all they have is money to rub on the world and buy whatever they want, including the lives of workers that were lost for there just to satisfy the greed of rich people.
I hope that in the 2026 World Cup, human values will be more valued, above any money the world can buy.
The 2022 World Cup will always remain as a dark spot in the history of FIFA. Qatar, despite splashing $300 billion to showoff their wealth, refused to compensate the 6,000+ migrant workers who died during the construction of the stadiums. And FIFA also didn't uttered a word about this issue. Children of these migrant workers are still starving to death in Nepal and Bangladesh, while FIFA is making big projections of $11 billion revenue for the next edition of the world cup. I agree with the point that there are enough large stadiums in all the three countries who are the hosts. But extensive renovations maybe required, to modify them as per FIFA standards.

The match between New Zealand and Sri Lanka is getting delayed by rain. This is one of the two remaining matches for Sri Lanka in ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League. If both these matches gets washed out, they will end up with 87 points (one point behind West Indies) and therefore they may need to play the qualifier tournament for the 2023 ODI World Cup. South Africa will have two matches against Netherlands this week, and if they win those matches then they are through (irrespective of the outcome from NZ vs SL matches).
So sad to hear that the match between New Zealand and Sri Lanka has been delayed due to rain. This match is of utmost importance for SriLanka as it is one of the remaining two matches for them in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League. If they do not get the chance to play this match they could have 87 points one point behind West Indies. They still have a chance to make it to the 2023 ODI World Cup qualifier tournament. Let's hope the weather clears up and the match takes place soon. Sri Lanka's last match in ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League will be played on Friday. Their chances are very slim, even if they win this match. Because in order for them to qualify directly to the next ODI World Cup, South Africa should lose one one of their remaining two matches against Netherlands. That is very improbable, and recently the Dutch lost the ODI series to a below strength Zimbabwe side by a margin of 1-2. And in case the match gets washed out on 31st, then Sri Lanka's chances will also get washed away.

The victory by Scotland over Spain was nothing short of a miracle. Scott McTominay was simply exceptional yesterday and he scored twice against the Spaniards. Spain is in the process of rebuilding their team after some of the senior players retired recently, so actually there was room for these upsets. Still their qualification to the main tournament is not under threat AFAIK. The other teams in Group A are not that strong (perhaps with the exception of Håland's one-man army). But Spain can't afford too many upset defeats now, since they have 3 points from 2 matches.

Really two interesting matches. For Norway, I think they will beat Georgia. Georgia is unlucky to be in a group with strong opponents. I have big doubts about Croatia though. Although they are the favourites in this match, Turkey will play at home and I think they can win. If that happens, it will be very hard for Croatia to qualify.
I have never watched any of the matches from Georgia and therefore I don't know much about them. But then, I know that Norway is a one-man army led by Erling Håland. The question is whether one good player and 10 average players can get them over another team, that is consisted of 11 average players. BTW, Turkey vs Croatia match is going to be interesting. I still believe that Croatia will win by a good margin, but the Turks are always unpredictable. On their day, they can beat anyone within the UEFA confederation, and this time they do have the advantage of playing at home.

A comparison with FIFA doesn't make sense at all. We have an ICC tournament every freaking year, it's not the case with the former. Then there is full members and associate nations drama.
USA ($25T) and EU ($17T) are developed economies and they contribute more than 50% of FIFA revenues according to you (or maybe at best 60-70%). In comparison, a developing economy like India ($3.5T) contributes 90% of ICC revenue. Stark differences in all indicators, don't you think?
FIFA and its member confederations d organize a number of tournaments. And the latest addition is FIFA Club World Cup, which is going to be expanded to 32 teams from the current 7-team setup. Once again, I don't think that the economic status of the country or contribution to the overall revenues should be a deciding factor. BCCI is a filthy rich board, and even if they get 90% of the ICC revenues that will comprise only a fraction of their total turnover. The only side effect will be that the other nations will suffer and they will fail to become competitive at international level. In the end, cricket will become a one-nation sport, similar to baseball.

Making money like this as an organization is not a trouble, it is what you should be aiming at and they are doing the right thing about that part. The issue is doing it in illegal ways, like we all know for a fact that Qatar bribed fifa to do it, and even though it had one of the best finals of all time and got so many views, that doesn't change the fact that it was a shame and definitely looked terrible for most of the organization.
We should be looking towards having some sort of culture that has real football in it to do it. I know that looks like a bad way of saying "west should do it" because west has better football organizations, but africa has it too, and that is not west, I wouldn't be against doing it in africa, or even asia has some great teams, but not Qatar. I am not even in favor of USA, sure they are doing better lately, but they do not have the culture for it.
Qatar didn't bribed the FIFA officials directly. What they did is that they bribed the representatives from poor third world countries, so that they get enough votes to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup. But then, FIFA was complacent in several ways. First of all, they never took any action against Qatar when the bribery allegations came to spotlight. And then they never uttered a word when Qatar refused to compensate dead migrant workers, who lost their lives during the construction of stadiums. And finally, they had no problem when Qatar was actively discriminating LGBT people and unmarried couples during the 2022 edition.
