4381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is now a good time to be investing in Bitcoin? on: February 28, 2022, 07:35:10 PM
2022 is being a hard year for bitcoin. Since the beginning the price is pretty low compared to last year, and still going down. There is a clear bearish tendency, as this scenario is happening for some consecutive months already.

Taking this fact in consideration, 2022 looks a great year to start investing in bitcoin. However, profit can take some time to appear (up to few years in worst case).

If the investor can keep his funds untouched for that period of time, he should invest right now without any doubts.
4382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on the war on: February 28, 2022, 05:50:00 PM
It's a controversial matter, because there are many lives in danger, people losing their houses and goods, women and children have to leave their homeland, while men stay to fight and die with honor.

Meanwhile, some people start betting on these events from the safety of their countries and houses, just to have some fun and make profit over the disgrace of another people.

Of course it's not nice. It shows a total lack of empathy with another human beings. There are so many gambling categories to bet on, so why to bet in such sensible matters?
4383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: February 28, 2022, 05:14:08 PM
Playing under pressure and ridicule is certainly very distracting, I'm sure even Russian players won't be able to deal with that easily. Everyone must still hope that things will return to normal, so that boycotts from other countries that refuse to play with Russia can be canceled.

This would only happen if Russia seems to invade Ukraine, which would be very good for everyone.
Even after that, I believe that these teams don't want to go to Russia to play, so the games would have to be played on neutral grounds.
I think Russia should be disqualified from the 2022 world cup. They attacked Ukraine in front of the eyes of the world and there must be a response. Although the disquafily from the World Cup does not look nice, Russia should be reacted somehow. If this punishment happens, Russian football players will not be punished, the Russian football committee will be punished. I know how friendly Russian people are. One wrong decision does not change this fact.
The situation has became unsustainable for Russia in sports scene. The world wants to send them a strong message of "shame on you".

I just feel sorry for russian people who don't support Putin's actions, but still have to pay the price for it, including the russian soccer player Fedor Smolov who has spoken against the war recently.
4384  Economy / Economics / Re: China's strategy on the Ukraine invasion war on: February 27, 2022, 12:46:57 AM
I think China sees the currently situation as an experiment to test how further the west is wiling to go to defend an allied country and to stop the advancement of the eastern forces. China is playing more strategical and Russia more warlike through the physical strength. Nevertheless, of course both countries are together and support each other even though China isn't explicitly or formally endorsing the invasion of Ukraine.

If China concludes western forces are weak or give weak responses to the attacks, it's possible their morale will be raised and they may feel inspired to invade Taiwan as well.

But it's everything so unclear and uncertain right now... What at same time is a good thing, as the scenario also doesn't look favourable for those who have desires for invading sovereign nations around them.
4385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CRYPTO COFFEE & CRYPTO MENU on: February 27, 2022, 12:05:43 AM
Nice idea from this entrepreneur to have opened a thematic crypto restaurant. It will get a lot of attention from crypto community, because it's not just a common shop adopting crypto as payment method, but also introducing crypto as the main theme of the restaurant, including the names of the hamburguers and breakfast options.
Besides that, I think Australia is a great country to start a crypto physical business, because it's a very educated country with decent financial standards, what means there are many potential customers to spend some time and money at Crypto Coffee.
4386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Brasileirão 2022 - Brazilian Championship Serie A on: February 26, 2022, 11:54:59 PM
Brasileirão 2022 will be marked by a high number of foreigner coaches hired by the brazilian national clubs.

Recent news say Corinthians is the 7th club to hire a foreigner coach for the 2022's competition. It's going to be Vitor Pereira, a portuguese, just like Flamengo and Palmeiras' coaches, Paulo Souza and Abel Ferreira, both also portugueses. These are the only 3 european coaches so far.

Another clubs found their ones in neighbor countries from South America. These are the cases of Atlético-MG, Fortaleza, Internacional and Coritiba.
4387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: February 26, 2022, 09:25:28 PM
Have you heard that Poland is not going to fly to Russia (due to the war) and play a play-off? Moreover, they do not demand anything, they agree to a technical defeat 3-0, just not to play with Russia. Radical decision. I wonder how FIFA will resolve this situation, it seems to me that this is a big scandal even considering external circumstances.
Besides Poland, Sweden also has the same stance regards a potential match against Russia:
Quote
Sweden said on Saturday that they won't play Russia in a possible playoff "regardless of where the match is played."
Moreover, polish soccer federation is trying to reunite more and more nations under the same agreement they won't play Russia as well. That means an attempt to create pressure to make FIFA not allow Russia participate world cup even if they qualify.

Polish start Lewandowski, endorsed the national federation's views:
Quote
"It is the right decision! I can't imagine playing a match with the Russian National Team in a situation when armed aggression in Ukraine continues. Russian footballers and fans are not responsible for this, but we can't pretend that nothing is happening."

4388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bounty Campaign a Sustainable way to grow your Crypto Community? on: February 26, 2022, 08:20:20 PM
It always depend on what the campaign is promoting. If the campaign is about a random useless token which aims to create a hype to fastly pump for speculative profit, dying right after, of course bounty campaigns aren't a sustainable way to grow the community, because first of all the product being advertised isn't sustainable or useful.

But if the product or service promoted is good and developers have legit interest to make it work on long run, bounty campaign will be totally worthful in this case and will add a lot to the initial value and potential of the project.
4389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You Must be Over 18 years on: February 26, 2022, 08:13:31 PM
I read every Internet gambling had requirements that must be over 18 years. if a child is under that age, how did the website owner know that child was enough to age?
When the site just asks for a simple confirmation from the user if he is over 18 years old, I think it's a measure to protect the casino from any legal issue with underage gamblers. So, when a gambler below 18 years old is spotted, the casino can't be responsible for it, since it was the gambler's fault to lie when he first accessed the casino, claiming he was above the minimum required age.

The advice of "never lie your age" doesn't make reference only to the fact underage gamblers can't manage their money properly and control their emotions efficiently, it also makes reference to the fact they won't have any rights if something goes wrong with their gambling session (that is, if the house cheats them, for an example).

What happened yesterday is not the worst in last two years. Do you remember the crash in March 2020 almost immediately after WHO announced the pandemic on media? How did Bitcoin move after that announcement?

Of course, it went to 3k and it took months to go back to 10k. But what started then - incredible rise.
I think pandemic was really worldwide event, many people still see Russia-Ukraine war as something local and far away from them - just like it was for 2 months with covid. Ukraine probably will be defeated soon and no one knows what will happen next - there are other Baltic countries which were part of USSR and which could be invaded. Because why not?
Yes, negative impacts of events like wars and pandemics on bitcoin aren't always negative. It's true at a first moment it's almost always harmful to bitcoin, but after days, weeks or months, the scenario completely reverses and those events which used to be negative become even positive for bitcoin price increasement. That is an interesting phenomenon that I suppose is related to the search for safe alternatives to protect money value during hard times. Just like happened during the pandemic, I think in a war situation bitcoin has good chances of gaining more value after some months.
4391  Economy / Economics / Re: Who gain's from War ? on: February 25, 2022, 06:39:13 PM
Nobody can have gains with wars on long run. Sometimes tyrants, mercenaries, black market dealers and sadistic people in general may think they are having some advantages through military conflicts, but just look what happened to these individuals previously through the world's story. It has never ended well for them. For a short period of time they achieve great deeds, profit and cause a lot of suffer and pain to their victims, but everything they cause to others, returns to themselves later. There is no gains on it at all. Greedy, egocentrism and wickedness always lead to ruin.
4392  Other / Archival / Re: Gambling in Wartime ⚽ 🏈 🏀 🎾 🎰📈🚀💥 on: February 25, 2022, 06:13:51 PM
Lol, I thought this thread was going to ask if people would bet on war events, results and statistics. Just imagine how crazy it would be.

Regards already scheduled sports events I think the only thing that can change is the location where they will be settled, like in the case Poland, Sweden and Czech Republic have already refused to play world cup qualifiers in russian territory. Moreover, nations in conflict can't play among themselves due to a resolution of the competition's organizers, so Ukraine and Russia had to be separated for the playoffs.

But I would like to know what will happen if both qualify for world cup, encountering each other at some point of the competition ahead. Maybe quarter finals or something like that...
4393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: World War III & Bitcoin on: February 24, 2022, 08:01:07 PM
  • Will the US and Russia start World War III?
if Putin feels there wasn't any considerable resistance when invading Ukraine, nothing will stop him from continue conquering new territories towards central Europe.

The point ignored by the occident is that Kiev is 96 hours from being taken by russian forces and sanctions won't be enough to prevent Ukraine from being conquered by russians on short run.
Do you really think he really has that much power and troops to continue conquering new territories toward central Europe even if he was able to topple Ukraine's Government? I however don't think that is Putin's aim because he knows he wouldn't want to bite more than he can chew.
I think it's not a matter of how strong he is, but a matter of how weak and pacifist another nations are showing to be military speaking. Putin is a bully, if he feels the another side is vulnerable he will go for it. What is happening to Ukraine now might happen to another countries if he succeeds the currently invasion.
And as new territories are conquered, new troops can be recruited and military power added. Wasn't that what happened in WW2 as Hitler conquered european countries? Not all soldiers under his command were german...
4394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: World War III & Bitcoin on: February 24, 2022, 07:03:39 PM
  • Will the US and Russia start World War III?
USA seems to be doing maximum effort as possible to not get involved in a military conflict against Russia. Biden is speaking right now and although he condemns Putin for the invasion, he hasn't ordered any military aid to Ukraine, neither any other allied countries did. All the measures adopted by US are related to economical sanctions to make Russia "bleed" internally along the time. It's a risky strategy though, because Russia can still count on with a powerful ally that is China. Moreover, if Putin feels there wasn't any considerable resistance when invading Ukraine, nothing will stop him from continue conquering new territories towards central Europe.

The point ignored by the occident is that Kiev is 96 hours from being taken by russian forces and sanctions won't be enough to prevent Ukraine from being conquered by russians on short run.

I think it's not the scale of the casino, but the difficulty of implementing new technology. Let's say if I buy a VR/AR equipment I can use it in a variety of entertainment, ranging from the usual gaming and ending with immersion in the metaverse and online casino games (if we wait for it).

Land-based casinos in contrast to this have a fairly narrow range of applications of such equipment and besides, by and large, land-based casinos are attended mostly by people who are not interested in such technology.
On long run, a VR equipment will be able to give users access to the same kind of experience they would have at a physical casino, but at the confort and security of their house. It will take a real long time to happen yet, so I think by there, 99% of people will have interest on this kind of technology, as the older generations will be already gone and the newest ones are going to grow up with total access to technology on their daily life as a basic need.

Once this happens, not only physical casinos, but most kinds of physical entertaining places will be become relics of the past. Few will probably remain as museums.
4396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you actually using/buying NFT's, and Gaming Tokens? on: February 23, 2022, 08:38:38 PM
So far, I've only tried 2 games, namely Axie, and also PVU. well, although Axie is still worth playing right now, however, a few months ago, I tried it with a fairly high SLP price. Well, currently the price is quite low. Besides, I sold the Axie I owned a few weeks after playing it. other than that, Plant Vs Undead, the coin price is really a dump, I thought it was rug pull, but until now the development is still ongoing. I also still have the account and some of the coins, but I don't play them anymore.
I still hold my SLP from Axie as I believe the price is going up yet after the last update which removed SLP rewards from adventure mode. The tendency is that supply is going to slow down a lot from now on, so my strategy is to let another players sell the tokens they were storing by now, like they are doing, and once the supply is really low the price is going to increase. Once this happens, it will be a good moment to finally sell SLPs.

There will be also new updates to introduce extra features on the game with the purpose of increasing SLP demand and usage. If it works as expected, SLP will become more valuable again.
4397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin War on: February 23, 2022, 07:27:56 PM
Do you anticipate a future in which there is a large-scale battle between pro-and anti-Bitcoin nations?
Internal financial policy of a country isn't a reasonable reason to generate conflicts with another countries. A country can't start threating another just because they passed bitcoin as legal tender. If a war like that happened, there should be another reasons involved on the backgrounds which would be intensifying the rage and desire to fight from both sides.

On the other hand, bitcoin is an useful tool for economical wars and not direcly martial wars: if an enemy country wants to weak and sabotage a bitcoin friendly country, they could try doing this through market price manipulation. Dumping bitcoin on purpose during a critical moment would affect an enemy nation which relies on bitcoin for their economical progress.
4398  Economy / Economics / Re: People over 65 having most of wealth in US on: February 23, 2022, 06:55:13 PM
People over the age of 65 accounts for 76 percent of all wealth in the United States.

Consider where the crypto markets will be when the younger generations that have grown up with cryptocurrency reach the age of this group...
The younger generations will take 40 or 50 years to reach that age yet. It's a lot of time, surpassing even my longest term predictions. It's impossible to say where crypto market will be at that point and if it will still exist by there. Meanwhile new technologies can be developed, political changes can happen, new governmental models be implemented, some countries can disappear, another ones can appear, Mars might be colonized, money could decrease its importance in people's lives, as the tendency is that life becomes more sustainable and less dependant on others as time passes... There are so many possibilities.

I just hope younger generations can thrive in different spheres, not only financially, and that the world reaches a higher level of average prosperity.

I remember when freebitco.in's faucet rewarded 300 or 400 satoshis base reward hourly and I could collect 20,000 satoshis every few days only from this site. Furthermore, there was a pretty decent faucet list from extinct faucetbox micropayment service provider, which displayed faucets paying 2000 satoshis for a single captcha sometimes (claimable once every 8, 16 or 24 hours, can't remember exactly).

My favorite ones were those where you collected 100 satoshis per captcha without time limit between the claims, with slight chances of hiting 500 or 1000 satoshis prizes.

These are nostalgic memories. Another great aspect is that on those times it was quick to claim from a faucet, as there weren't pop-ups, intrusive ads or anti-bot features.

Sadly I've also sold my coins when btc was cheap and sometimes I got too lazy to keep claiming due to the low price of bitcoin on that moment.
4400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun alone? how true? on: February 23, 2022, 05:40:53 PM
As you grow older, this question gets much more true because, retirement comes and you will definitely going to see more free time and more money (if you had a job) then what better way to spend those money than gamble it away and gain enjoyment out of it. That's my take on this question.
The best way to spend that money is to look for an investment that can be useful for our old age and not bother our children. While gambling is not a good thing to do, especially if we have a lot of money. If there are people who earn money from their retirement and only use it to gamble for the sake of having fun, they haven't learned how they can raise that money as long as they were working before. At least, after retirement, they can be wiser in managing their finances because they can no longer get money every month.
When people get older they just want to have fun and enjoy life, because growing money through investments will be useless for them, since by the time it takes they will be most probably already dead or too debilitated. If you talk to elder gamblers they will tell what I mentioned above.

It's important to make investments and worry about financial life during the earlier stages of life. When you reach the elderly I fear it's too late to worry about it. All you can do is to harvest what you have sowed previously.
