Luka made history.
Luka Doncic scores 48 points in Olympic debut, Slovenia crushes Argentina

He has oozing confidence, he is a superstar in the NBA, still a superstar in the Olympics. How good this guy is?

Anyone here thinks that Slovenia has a chance to win the gold medal?
Anyone can say whatever they want about their GOAT candidate, but if this kid keeps this up and doesn't get like a horrible injury or anything like that, plays this way for another 10-12 years then I am pretty sure he will be at the top of most GOAT lists. You may think he hasn't shown anything and he doesn't even have a proper playoff success yet, just some wins, but dude is 22 years old with basically no one around him and he still plays quite well, remember Lebron didn't even make it to playoffs on his first year, that is the difference we are talking about here.

I feel like he is going to slowly take all of his team into finals gradually, sort of like how Giannis did it, we may end up seeing some Giannis vs Luka finals if both teams do end up putting decent players around them, Bucks obviously did but Dallas doesn't have much to offer for any trade so it is a bit harder.

Lol this is highly doubtful. Now don’t get me wrong, Luka is a phenomenal player and his upside is immense but it is clear that he simply doesn’t have the build or athleticism to become the greatest player of all time. He’s not even the best player in the NBA right now. He is no michael jordan or Lebron James. Great player but the next goat, no chance. I do think it is possible that he becomes the best player in the NBA at some point, I just can't see him every becoming the greatest of all time.
4382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tokyo 2020 Men's Olympics Basketball Tournament on: July 28, 2021, 04:04:54 PM
Just 2 games on Monday, but one is definitely worth to watch - Argentina - Slovenia. 2019 World Cup runners-up vs Euro 2017 winners. One of the best European players Doncic vs 41 year old grandpa Luis Scola who is still good at such age.

Still have the chance if I get it right, if they can win all the games that left for them which is very possible after losing this one.
Their next opponent is Iran - weakest team in whole tournament without any doubts. So, I expect big win. Then, Czech Republic. Good team which can give fight, but IMO they aren't capable to beat USA.

Sucks seeing them lose but it's not shocking.  There are only two super stars on the team as most US super stars decided not to play this time around ( Lebron, Leonard, Curry, Thompson, George, Irving, Davis, Zion, Westbrook, Paul, Harden) and I'm probably forgetting one or two others.  So while it was certainly an impressive win, they were playing a USA "B-Team".  Obviously if the US had all it's stars playing they would destroy everyone like they normally do with ease.  Still hope for Gold though of course.
It's excuses. Almost in every major tournament USA have missing some superstars, buti even with B-Team they were destroying all their opponents by 30 points at least. But times had changed. With all superstars probably they would win gold, but I doubt that they would have easy life and would destroy Nigeria by 80 points liker they did in London Olympics.

What are you even taking about? What you wrote really doesn’t make any sense. It’s not excuses, it’s the truth. The vast majority of the United States best players aren’t playing, that’s not an excuse, it’s a fact. It seems to me that you don’t know the players or situation very well. And yes, some American “B-Teams” will and have blown out opponents by 30 pts or more, but what does that have to do with anything we are talking about here ?  Huh
4383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ethics of boxing and gambling on: July 28, 2021, 03:57:20 PM
There is no one forcing anyone to box. It is completely up to the boxers themselves whether or not they want to take on the risks that come with boxing. Back in the day we didn’t know exactly all of the health issues that were involved but today with modern medicine we do, so again, the boxers have full knowledge of the risks being taken. Same goes for sports like NFL football.
4384  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] Fiat currencies from around the world on: July 28, 2021, 02:59:34 PM
I am a big fan of collecting bank notes.  There are so many cool notes from around the world.  Are you looking for more current world notes or are you interested in notes from all different eras?  I've got a handful of older United States notes ranging from Confederate notes to Colonial notes.  Both of those are really cool pieces of history in my opinion and if you're interested I may have a few available.
4385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Safety on: July 28, 2021, 02:46:23 PM
As far as I know and have read, air-gapped computers are about as safe as it gets when it comes to how you store your cryptocurrency funds. Personally I think it is best to spread your coins out across a multitude of wallets.  I of course am excluding wallets such as on an exchange or hot wallets.  For me utilizing a Trezor and paper wallets tends to make me feel most comfortable.
4386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon Puts Down Bitcoin Use Rumor on: July 28, 2021, 02:14:37 PM
I looked in to this and it seems like it is legitimate news.  They may not be ready to accept bitcoin and or other types of cryptocurrencies by the end of the year but it doesn't mean they won't accept it at some point after that. When I read the amazon report the other day they quoted a spokesperson for amazon saying they are indeed hiring a blockchain/programming expert for potential future use..so there is still plenty of hope for this.
4387  Economy / Collectibles / Re: "Cold Storage Coin" company.. legit or potential scam?! on: July 26, 2021, 03:04:14 PM
Despite the legal troubles of Joby Weeks, I think the company makes good wallets and they have worked for me. Their main distribution strategy seems to sell through retailers versus them being the sole retailer. They are often on Amazon for example.

The legal issues are another venture and it Seems pretty bad, including the severity of  charges against the other people prosecuted with him.

How is he related to cold storage coins? I know there are photos of the owner on instagram, but currently I'm locked out of my accounts (long story but if anyone know a way to get my accounts back, plz lemme know!)

At the very least this company is completely full of shit, lies about things constantly, and simply practices many unethical and manipulative practices.  Just look at how they sell the Roman Booteen coins.. when first listed they pronounced themselves as "Roman Booteens official replica coin dealer for all coins".  First off that's a lie.  Roman does not have an official replica dealer, as the owner of whomever buys the coin has full rights, but he has no deal in place to sell all of his coins to them.  As I mentioned before they used to have a lot of info about the coin, and most importantly they listed a mintage limit.  Now they have removed the mintage limit from their site, which means they are likely producing more coins, which I believe would be considered some sort of fraud ( any legal eagles could speak to this better than I).  Imagine paying that much for a replica, under the pretense that there was a limited number of coins, and then the company decides to continue to make more.

At the very least they are an unethical company that provides horrible service and practices many shady business tactics.  I mean just look at what I wrote up, this all makes no sense the way they are operating.  Why was Coin Empire created?!  Why would they not just use one of their other owned sites, cold storage coins or heads or tails?!  Then lying saying they were the first to make coins at a higher scale, and claiming their tiered referral program is going to make many people millionaires.  That is not something a legit company would do or say.  I will be reaching out Coin Empire for an explanation and report back.

I know this market very well, I know how companies set up to exit scam etc..and they are showing every sign of it. If you have any coins loaded on their coins... peel them for the love of god!  You would be absolutely insane to have these coins funded after knowing all of this.  It is not worth the risk!

4389  Economy / Collectibles / Cold Storage Coins Co. Scam on: July 25, 2021, 07:27:53 PM
I wanted to finally discuss this company here as I have felt for a couple years now that there is something very fishy/odd going on with them.  As many of you know I am pretty nerdy when it comes to these collectibles as well as have exposed/helped expose quite a few scam companies over the years and this company has followed many patters I have seen before from those types of companies. Yesterday I was doing a search for coins on facebook, because I'm a nerd, and I ran in to this scammy feeling advertisement from "Coin Empire" that is as you can see spewing lies and offering the always legitimate "referral program" where you can make money by helping them sell their coins.. https://fb.watch/6Zhxvr1_wo/   "The first physical bitcoin for the masses, practically guaranteed to make millionaires from home".  Wait, didn't you guys create cold storage coins about 3-4 years ago?!

So here is their "main" website .. https://coldstoragecoins.com/index.html .   They also own and run this site where they sell them there as well.. https://hotco.co/search?type=product%2Carticle%2Cpage&q=bitcoin  ( so now that's 3 sites/companies ) .  Notice they are also the reseller of Roman Booteens replicas.  Why do I bring this up? When they first listed his replica coins for sale they provided a good bit of detail, and mintage numbers..you'll notice now there are no mintage numbers listed anymore.  Even more, the last time I was on the website it showed that all the replicas were sold out and now they aren't?  Huh   Then I ask myself why are they using a multitude of sites/companies to sell their products?  On some of the sites coins are "sold out" and others they aren't.  I had wondered why aren't they producing more of the sold out coins like Potcoin when it sold out relatively quickly AND they told me a year or maybe even two ago that they would be restocking them very soon.  Then I saw the "Coin Empire" advertisement, where they state you will be able to buy them there.

I have contacted this company a multitude of times and never once received anything but very odd/shady service. They posted on their Instagram account about two years ago a new bitcoin coin and said it could be purchased at the Heads or Tails website. I told them I searched the entire site and couldn't find it, their response was "I'm currently flying, but when I land I'll send you the link for it".  So if they are communicating with me via instagram messenger while flying, then why on earth couldn't they take two seconds to go on their own website and grab the link for a potential customer.  It sure didn't shock me that they never got back to me, as they had done so at least 3-4 times in the past with other questions I had.

They also told me once that they are the original company who designed the MJB coins (does anyone know if they ever had a website where they sold those 1 gram silver coins and the ugly circuit board coins?).  So if that is true, they obviously know this space well, so why are they saying that their cold storage coins are the first of their kind on the Coin Empire site, when they've sold these coins on at least 5 other sites for several years...of course as you can see, more lies.

Edit: They stole the famous circuit board design from Mick/MJB Momentary Metals, claim that it is their design, and have been profiting off of it ever since.  Mick hasn't made a dime off of the design.  Very unfortunate for MJB.  - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=23256.240

Another website they utilized to sell their coins- https://www.jmbullion.com/search/?q=cold ... I understand using them to help sell their coins, but why not have these in stock on their own sites at all?  None of this makes any sense.  I also know I've seen them offer these coins on one or two other sites but I can't seem to find them at the moment.

I just wanted to get this all off my chest so that others can become aware of their actions and know that if they do buy these coins, please for the love of god never fund them.   I also wanted to ask if anyone else had ever had any odd or shady dealings with them as well?  Clearly something is not adding up here, I just cant fully put my finger on what their angel is exactly quite yet.  Maybe some Mr Robot could do some website research and perhaps there is pattern to spread their potential risk across multiple countries/companies.  If I was a betting man I would put a good chunk of coin down on the likelihood that they will try and exit scam eventually.  Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd bet against that. I'd also rather be wrong and no one ever gets scammed, but just in case I'm right, maybe I can save a couple people from a potential scam.

Would love to hear anyone's thoughts/experiences..

Edit: I have just discovered that their main site  https://coldstoragecoins.com/index.html seems to have disabled the pages where you can see product reviews.  I remember reading a couple reviews a month or two ago where some people had pretty serious issues with the coins but I can't remember exactly what they were, I know one had something to do with the hologram being breached or something to that extent. just to add yet another sign of what I believe to be a scam operation of sorts in it's entirety.

In case anyone needs a stream - https://stream.nbcolympics.com/basketball-mens-prelim-game-4-france-usa

Edit: durant w/3 fouls already is not good at all. The US lacking size is hurting them quite a bit right now too.  This US team is not even close to as good as it could be, but they still should without question win this game.  Prop to France coming out to play today, making it a fun game so far.

What sick and twisted country do you live in that would punish someone to death for using bitcoin? I guess I shouldnt doubt that there are a few countries out there that would, which makes me sad that people have to live under such bullshit oppression.
If you truly believe what you said in that part I bolded, then I think your first sentence is contradictory. Obviously, it contradicts your second view. However, remember that what we are dealing with here is a hypothetical scenario. It's that simple. We shouldn't lose sight of how traffic reduces in this forum during bear season let alone when governments begin to clamp down on those who are into Bitcoin. Do you honestly believe this forum will not be affected? Obviously not!

First off I asked what oppressive country you live in that would do that.. I never said I didn’t believe it, did I? I just reconfirmed with myself as I typed that I shouldn’t doubt it, not saying I ever did. Also I agreed that the traffic would likely slow here in the event of a massive crash, can you point out where I said something to the contrary? I also am well aware it’s all hypothetical at this point. Do you just like to create arguments or  Huh
4393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 💰 Summer Tokyo 2020 💰 Discussion and bet thread 💰 Summer Game 💰 on: July 25, 2021, 10:13:26 AM
It's going to be a good Olympics for China again. With their overpopulation and correct sports activities, they always take first place in the Olympics. My country -Turkey- has not received a medal yet. Our athletes placed 4th in several sports branches. I hope that we will overcome this misfortune and get a medal in the wrestling competitions.

Imagine how many more people they’d have if they didn’t lock so many up in prison camps for communist type reasons. Yeah I’m not a fan of that country, obviously. Also, the US tends to win the most medals. Here’s last Olympic results from 2016

I just got done watching some Simone Biles highlights and HOLY SHIT, that woman is freaking unbelievable.  To be honest this was my first time watching her period. Not sure how or why I didn't back in 2016.  I can't wait to see her go out and dominate the world once again.  I can now see what she is considered the GOAT/Greatest of All Time.  Just watching her makes my old man back hurt  Cheesy
4395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tokyo 2020 Men's Olympics Basketball Tournament on: July 25, 2021, 03:24:07 AM
Men's tournament is officially underway with Czechs leading Iran at the half 46:30 in the opening game.

Lucked on my very first bet with a few made 3s in the final minute of the first quarter. Kinda boring match but twas to be expected, funny seeing Hamed Haddadi still playing, dude looks like 50+ (he is in his 30s, by the way, lol), maybe some of you remember him with his stint with the Grizzlies years ago. Nothing surprising so far, Czechs are handling their bizz and will likely win by the double digits at the end and cover their spread (-18.5). They had an incredible qualifier, defeating the super-stacked team of Canada and Greece in the finals to make the trip to Tokyo, interesting how far can they go...

I dont know Greece's team at all. If they had had Giannis, I imagine it would be inevitable that they would  have made the cut?  Sucks but I'm sure the country will take that NBA championship win all day.
4396  Other / Meta / Re: If Bitcoin crashes would this forum still exist? on: July 25, 2021, 03:12:29 AM
They can't so let's say they banned all activities relating to Bitcoin like trading, mining etc globally, the forum would still exist and even become more stronger
Are you cocksure about that? I have observed how thinned out this forum gets whenever Bitcoin is eaten up by the 🐻, how a lot of people get discouraged coming and posting here, how traffic to this site reduces. Remember that FOMO creates a hell of noise while the 🐻 bestows silence on every group and communities. I think if there is a global ban on Bitcoin related activities with huge implications of imprisonment and death for defaulters, this forum will be drastically affected or shutdown.

What sick and twisted country do you live in that would punish someone to death for using bitcoin? I guess I shouldnt doubt that there are a few countries out there that would, which makes me sad that people have to live under such bullshit oppression.  I guess the same goes for jail time.  Hell China sends you to a "reform camp" cough prison camp cough if you don't simply conform to their religious ideals or god forbid two people of the same sex act upon their interest in one another.  Fucked up world that still needs a whole lot of work thats for sure.

I do agree though that it's likely that we see a fall off of activity if bitcoin drastically crashed.  But who knows.

The amount of hatred which is shown by the governments towards bitcoin is enough to ban it completely but the haven't been able to do in 11 years because THEY ARE UNABLE TO BAN BITCOIN. Since bitcoin can't be completely ban globally, there will be no major effect on this forum even if the price goes down temporarily for any reason.

Many countries have been welcoming of bitcoin as well. The US has been, but has stressed increased regulatory oversight, which I am all for.  However I disagree, if they wanted to "ban" bitcoin, they could to a very large extent.  They would disallow exchanges to operate or be accessible inside the country, which would make it so the majority of bitcoin owners would likely sell out of their positions.  As a financial advisor by trade, one thing I know to never underestimate is the overall panic just a little thing can cause, let alone something major like that.  Hell the stock market falls 500 pts and I've got clients calling me telling me the world is over.
4397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should online gambling companies be responsible for harm related activities? on: July 25, 2021, 01:24:48 AM
Free will is important despite the potential repercussions of it.  My state just allowed legalized gambling and every commercial or advertisement has to come with a warning, just like cigarettes do.  However if you want to smoke yourself to death or blow all of your money, then that should be your right.  Sure there will always be innocent bystanders but to try and prevent free will is just often very wrong.  So with free will can come repercussions but the companies that provide the service aren't forcing anyone to use them.  It's your choice and if you can't handle it then don't start or get help..but don't blame the hand that you loved feeding you until you went beyond your means.
4398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tokyo 2020 Men's Olympics Basketball Tournament on: July 25, 2021, 01:08:39 AM
I really don't think that way as the other teams have better chemistry than the NBA. They only have few players to represent their country so they really know each other compared to the NBA where they are busy with the NBA season. A team that has a better chemistry will win, and we've see how other teams beat the USA in an exhibition match that says they are unbeatable.

Yes and no.  Growing up in my hometown we had more HS players/larger pool to pull from than the small towns outside my city. I went to a good sports school but those small town teams had been playing together literally their entire lives. If they had some talented ballers it was hard to beat them and my school often lost to those teams with such chemistry.  However top talent reigns supreme.  A rival HS of mine, Lanphier, featured future Big 10 / Univ of Illinois player Richard McBride and a future NBA star player/Olympian/Finals MVP Andre Iquodala.  Despite having the chemistry. they were absolutely no match for Lanphier.  They ended up losing the in state finals game but it was vs a powerhouse (chicago westinghouse).  Proof that elite talent most often tends to prevail.

Anyone seen this video?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaC3LEygCLU

KD somewhat wanted to send the message across as to who is the man in the US team.

"That's my ball" should be the team's slogan moving forward, LOL.

Oh Durant is on a mission.  Durant has felt underappreciated his whole career and I know the only reason he's playing on this team is because he knew he'd be the best player in the world to compete in the Olympics and he wants that glory.  Will be fun to see him try and get that gold.  Going to be hard to stop him and Lillard that's for sure.

But still USA will gonna dominate them with a perfect nba all-star roster.  Cheesy

Actually it's far from.  Lebron, Harden, Curry, Thompson, Kawhi and others are all better than every player besides Lillard and Durant.  This is actually a weak team compared to what it could be.

I will have to think this one over, because I know I've got at least 5 of them I've thought about before, but I will go with the Lealana king kamehameha.  I think these coins are very underrated.  They don't get talked about much, I never see anyone asking to buy them etc.

I would like to be on record that I would like to buy one! Who is selling?

I think teegumes was at one point, and if memory serves me Ive also seen one or two others in the last year or two. They sure won’t come cheap as they are either a set of 8 or stand alone silvers (but I think some silvers were sold in pairs, could be wrong about this and will fact check later on). The set of 8 coins are very limited, I’m again guessing but think there were less than 20 8 coin sets produced. I know the stand alone silver versions didn’t have a high Mintage either. I’ve offered my spare kidney for a set but no takers as of yet.

Other underrated coins imo - Silver Wallets and Nola Coins. Especially the funded Nola .5BTC coin and self funded coins which have a unique scratch off hologram..all of which are white whales. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen one being sold or put up for sale once since I’ve been on the forum.
