Some good points there, with this being one of the concerns I've had from the very first post.

What benefits are you offering me as far as trust and service that anyone else cant supply me.  What do you have to gain from this whole thing are you doing it for free.  Whay are you even doing this at no profit to you.  I am not understanding why would someone maintain someone elses asics miner indefinatly where is your profit in the equation and you have not made that part of the equation visible to us.  Why are you doin this what are you gaining from it.
442  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Asic chip Mini USB miner [Post if interested] on: May 10, 2013, 08:05:14 PM
Honestly I wasn't planning on doing pre-orders, I'm trying to get 500 chips set aside, so when they are done they are ready to go

typo

Simplest but most effective mistake to make Tongue

Any idea on timescale for when you'll be developing or selling this? Getting chips sounds pretty final!? Grin
443  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: May 10, 2013, 07:44:33 PM
To clarify will it be possible to buy a board populated with ASIC chips?

I wouldn't mind sorting out the heatsinking myself but I don't want to be dealing with the hassle of buying chips then having to send them back off to be installed.
444  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 10, 2013, 02:45:58 PM
I was considering a pre-order hoped they would show something new and provide proof, I guess we gotta wait until august.  Bfl may beat them lol

shill or just thick as a brick?

this is so frustrating, when I saw the first post I was thinking, I really hope no-one falls for this.
445  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 10, 2013, 01:00:26 PM
Guys they upped the price and moved shipping date to August

Meaning they can get more money before disappearing, good plan!

447  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 10, 2013, 08:37:28 AM
I like that NashX site's idea, both buyer and seller must first pay a guarantee money (which is at least 2x price of the product) to an escrow service before they pay/deliver, and if one of them run away, the guarantee money will belong to the other  Cool

Utopia.

If you're an OEM/ODM, you want to put your money into producing the goods, not locking it with an escrow.

Best thing to do for all these newcomers is to make some samples and find a reputable distributor (who could act as a sort of escrow if you preorder). The OEM/ODM will still have to put the funds upfront to make the goods but the distributor would guarantee payment upon delivery to both the OEM/ODM and the customer.

I agree, or offer said preorder with reputable company such as Amazon thats gonna check up on them first!

600 euro plus shipping for a thing that is equal to a 7970(i don't care about electricity)
lol

And thats why this kind of thing isn't meant for you, far far more complex than "oh lulz i dont care bout power consumption". These can be used for many tasks and you can essentially design and run your own emulated asic in them!
450  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: May 09, 2013, 11:18:04 PM
When is Avalon releasing the chip specs? All the designs are currently on hold because of Avalon's failure to release the specs. They said early may.

So many delays in this game! Suppose it kind of is a whole new type of device though, personal currency minter. Who reckons the CIA are playing dispruption?!  Roll Eyes Tongue

452  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: xCrowd dot co dot UK on: May 09, 2013, 07:52:56 PM
Having established that you're probably not (a) a scam, then are you going to be a (b) solo mining behemoth?  Or a (c) party favorite that shares the love somewhat cheaply with the masses?

It will be easier to recruit if you let people know your ballpark strategy.

And the terrible question: What's the ETA?
453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt Club on: May 09, 2013, 06:34:34 PM
Honestly, you'd be a fool not to join this.

Cryptocurrencies other than BTC and LTC and possibly NMC and PPC are scams. The entire market is speculation and hype. These currencies have ZERO practical value. Thus its market price is solely based on hype.

So, if you think you can outsmart the hype, then fuckin go for it. Otherwise, you may as well join us while we take the money out of the pockets of the kids livin in the clouds.

This man speaks truth, once this gets momentum there's bank to be made

454  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 09, 2013, 01:55:52 PM
are you for real??

Yes I am "for real". What part of this entire CedarTec thing is different from when Avalon started accepting pre-orderes for batch 1...or BFL back over a year ago? CedarTec will probably do the same thing if this is legit...batch 1 will be $1000, second round will be $1500-2000 each then round 3 will be $5000-7500 each

I am not saying go and buy, but I am still not convinced this is a "SCAM" yet

to each their own

For starters neither Avalon or BFL did an amateur photoshop hatchet job, which would have buried them from the off...

Was wondering how few others had seen that. The communication and order of events also just scream "we don't know what we're doing, just taking your moneys".
455  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 09, 2013, 01:26:43 PM
I am still on the fence about this....there are TONS of things that lead me to believe that these guys are scamming, yet nothing is 100% definite.

One thing I was thinking about is that they could be trolling us all with this one refund. By refunding 1 person 8 BTC, they are giving many more confidence that they are legit. The 8 BTC refund could fuel in hundreds of more BTC before they close down everything and are never seen again.

Then again they could still be legit...

are you for real??

Some people eh?

Ill say again, this is definitely a scam  Roll Eyes

I'd be getting more at this difficulty than earlier... too many orphans.

What would be ideal scantime for this one? 90? (half a block)

460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RoyalCoin - a new scrypt based coin on: May 09, 2013, 09:38:19 AM
you are not mining, u are wasting energy and hardware
people with farms are getting blocks and rest are getting orphans or nothing
i started mining 10 min after relase with 7950, at that time it was pointless due to latency/1s blocks

yeah someone needs a pool up quick!
