Impressive coding! Have three questions though. 1) Is this written from scratch? Or are there any libraries underneath. 2) What IDE or editor do you use for this work 3) What licence is there on this? Open or proprietary?
best regards Simen
1. No, everything is original except jQuery, jquery.cookie, jquery.mousewheel. 2. Vim 3. Private code. 3 jQuery libraries are MIT

I was curious why there has been an unusual delay in the bid/ask prices for Mt Gox today. Thanks in advance!
Mt.Gox has changed there API. I have updated the script. now it works again.

Important change !! Import http://rtbitcoin.co/ !! Mtgox changed api and PubNub is -2s moreless than normal api, very fast! Hope you could make it, people dont understand the delay but is for that imo. Good luck ! Thank you for remind. I have adapted the API. I have to say it's a retrogression. before Mt.Gox is using WebSocket, it's actually realtime. now it is using XHR-polling, it's much slower than before.

Hi, I really want to thank you for running this service, I'm using it almost evey day. If interested we can talk about posting you to our 'featured listings' section on http://uselitecoin.comI'v got only one feature request and that is buttons (like they have on tradingview.com) for zoom in/out and scroll forward/backward to be able to use this site better on touch screen devices, which kinda struggle to control browsing through chart's history. Thanks! uselitecoin.com is nice site too. I agree, those button are nessecary for tablet or mobile, maybe touch control would be even better. I will add them.

On the Y (vertical) axis on the far right side the value ranges for both the price (top) and volume (bottom) are listed. On the price side there is a numerical box that follows the cursor to easily identify past price in a very precise manner. Would it be possible for this numerical box to be duplicated for the volume section as well? Not sure how difficult that would be to implement, but it may be helpful to quickly see the past volume with a higher degree of accuracy. Thank you! This site is awesome and I use it all the time for multiple markets. EDIT - donation sent as well Thank you for donation. It should be no problem.

Hey, just noticed something... did you by any chance increase the candle history? It seems I can "scroll" back further into the past. Or am I imagining things...
Do you mean just notice the charts can drag or want to show more data in history? The charts loads up to 900 data when it is online at the first day. And for the system doesn't support quick scrolling, so it won't load more data. Not sure if we mean the same thing: Say I set time resolution to "1 day". Then I can zoom in and zoom out. Say I zoom out maximally. If I do that, I can see approximately 5 months (around 5*30=150 candles). If I want to go more into the past, I can "drag" the screen from left to right, and I see older history. Now, I always thought it would be nice if I could "drag" very deep into the past like that, but there's a limit.. 900 candles, is that the limit? I thought maybe you increased it. Yes, it's limited to 900 candles. and won't be increased to keep charts fast.

Hey there, I want to create an interactive line graph of my own for calculating some things - for this I want to use Bitstamp API data of prices and draw the chart. In the API of Bitstamp I can only fetch hourly or minute data. Anything older than that is seemingly not supported. I'd like to ask, where does your data come from? Did you accumulate it yourself over time? Is that data available through a bitcoinwisdom API or something similar? Please let me know - thanks! BitcoinWisdom doesn't provide API for it. But you could find it on bitcoincharts.com

Feature request: add BTC-e BTCEUR, it's right under Mtgox in market list so it could go right under Mtgox's BTCEUR.
We already have 10 pairs of BTC-e, so we won't add more pairs to keep BTC-e charts fast.

Hey together, really GREAT work with bitcoinwosdom - best live charting site for BTC and LTC - love it! Hoewever, for daytrading I do miss one essential indicator: Volume-weigthed average price (VWAP). One example is the “ALMA” moving average, copyright by Arnaud Legoux and Dimitris Kouzis-Loukas. Here is a detailled explaination: http://www.arnaudlegoux.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/ALMA-Arnaud-Legoux-Moving-Average.pdfEspecially the 30 day / monthly time period is of interest as a good indicator for daytrading. Do you plan in including something like this? Best bysteven I think VWAP is useful too. but for reducing complex and data size to keep the charts fast so we haven't calculated it yet. For ALMA, it won't be supported in short time.

Hi Bitcoinwisdom! I am very happy with your service, donated over 0.1 bitcoin and I hope you will become a millionaire! Great service. As for me, I have just one simple request, feel free to say no. But I would like to change the colors! Not all of them, just the green and red. Here are two examples: What do you think? Thanks Thank you for your support. In current system it cannot be added quickly. because the settings is saved in cookie, I have to keep the cookie's size small. but custom theme I think it could be supported in future.

its possible to remove the volume chart in order to see MACD much more clear? lines are a bit difficult to see how crossed they are...
When the bar turn from red to green or green to red means crossed.

Hello,
could you add BTC/EUR from btc-e.com? Its the third largest EUR market. Thanks
I'm sorry. There are too many pair from BTC-e, to keep BTC-e charts fast, currently won't add more.

@Bitcoinwisdom
Bitstamp API seems to be screwed up, or your site parses the data wrong, but current trades are displayed as a candle that is 2 or 3 hours in the past. Can you look into that?
Thank you for reporting, the bug is fixed. It caused by server's date is incorrect.

For some reason tonight my ISP changed my IP as a matter of course since I don't have a static IP, and the IP they changed me to happens to not load bitcoinwisdom. I can only get the charts now from my cellular IP.
On my cable modem I always get a message saying retry in 5 seconds probably you've exceeded 8 connections, even when there aren't even 1 connection.
Can you unblacklist my cable modem IP or do something to fix this?
My user name on bitcoinwisdom is the same as it is in the forums here if you need to check your logs.
The IP that's being blocked is 74.78.219.253
Edit: There is 1 instance of bitcoinwisdom open on my network that's stayed open all week since before there was a problem opening it. It's still up.
Could it be that Chrome.exe which uses multiple instances of itself which all use a connection making multiple connections to the server for that 1 tab?
I'm sorry for inconvienece. You could open chrome://net-internals/#sockets to see the number of connections. Only the connections on *.bitcoinwisdom.com:8080 is counted. bitcoinwisdom.com:80 is not included. When open 4 tab the connection is 6 in my browser.

some thoughts / constructive criticism on bitcoinwisdom, and I love your charts so don't take any of this wrong... 1 When you shrink the chart down in height to stack two streaming charts on the same desktop you loose the orderbook data closest to the center rather than the stuff furthest from the center. 2 The way you can drag the chart left and right to move it relative to time is great... any way we can get it to drag up and down relative to price? When price is climbing or falling rapidly its hard to project a top/bottom price point because the chart maxes at the edge of the price scale. Especially important in log scale during parabolic up movements. 3 Would love to see 6 MA/EMA's instead of 4. I post screenshots in the btce trollbox (check archive) and would like to be able to put up 2X support lines 2X resistance lines and 2X short trend lines in my screenshots 4 if there was any way to have a "draw a line" / "draw a curve" toolbox to create custom support/resistance lines; would be really sweet 5 along the the same thought as "draw a line", highlight a spot would be a cool "draw" feature if you could implement such... see this chart I posted yesterday: I screenshot -> gimp -> tinypic. The gimp step is a hassle while charts are moving quick, but being able to point out things graphically to noobs in the trollbox is sometimes mission critical When I posted the above btccny chart, I posted a "strong buy LTC" immediately with it due to the movement of the BTCLTC ratio at the time the btccny was "landing like a honey bee at the hive" on its long trend line. LTC went from 31-38.6 in 12 hours following my comment. just some thoughts love the charts keep up the good work CRYPTO!!!! Thank you for reporting. the first bug has been fixed. Other feature request we would consider them.

Now that bitcoinity.org defaults to mBTC, do you plan on doing the same?
BitcoinWisdom has no plan to change unit yet. There is 2 major reason: Charts site unit should follow the exchange, there is no mBTC/USD pair in exchange. According 1 XAU equals 1200 USD and people won't use mOz or gram instead of Oz for listing. also there is no other unit such as Cents will be used for forex.
