Now that bitcoinity.org defaults to mBTC, do you plan on doing the same?

Or at least make it an option ...

any interest in dev on a streaming order book heatmap?

I have the meat and potatoes of the project in dev; should be ready to go for personal use by FEB2014, could move faster with help

Using Python, MATLAB, C, and SQL for the db

We're already db'ing the orderbook past 6 months and graphing basic orderbook, volume, price charts.

The heatmap is the goal; so everything is optimized in that direction.

Would love to have it hosted; looking for a partner that's already running streaming charts.  My programmer is not a web developer and I'm not  either.

some thoughts / constructive criticism on bitcoinwisdom, and I love your charts so don't take any of this wrong...

1
When you shrink the chart down in height to stack two streaming charts on the same desktop you loose the orderbook data closest to the center rather than the stuff furthest from the center.

2
The way you can drag the chart left and right to move it relative to time is great... any way we can get it to drag up and down relative to price? When price is climbing or falling rapidly its hard to project a top/bottom price point because the chart maxes at the edge of the price scale.  Especially important in log scale during parabolic up movements.

3
Would love to see 6 MA/EMA's instead of 4. I post screenshots in the btce trollbox (check archive) and would like to be able to put up 2X support lines 2X resistance lines and 2X short trend lines in my screenshots

4
if there was any way to have a "draw a line" / "draw a curve" toolbox to create custom support/resistance lines; would be really sweet

5
along the the same thought as "draw a line", highlight a spot would be a cool "draw" feature if you could implement such... see this chart I posted yesterday:

http://tinypic.com/r/i2m6pl/5

I screenshot -> gimp -> tinypic.  The gimp step is a hassle while charts are moving quick, but being able to point out things graphically to noobs in the trollbox is sometimes mission critical Smiley

When I posted the above btccny chart,  I posted a "strong buy LTC" immediately with it due to the movement of the BTCLTC ratio at the time the btccny was "landing like a honey bee at the hive" on its long trend line.

LTC went from 31-38.6 in 12 hours following my comment.

another suggestion would be to add fibonacci retracements to the technical indicators ~ best fiat trading platform i'lve seen is netdania, i've not found the fib fans/arcs etc. useful, but the simple fib retracements are a great trading tool.

Here in Spain we are also experiencing fails in the site, especially since weekend. Now it isn't working at all.

And Simran, I'm also a greedy motherf**ker; since I'm also would like, and appreciate a lower price for a premium account.

I think you fail to see the reason of a premium account. It's more a donation rather than an upgrade.

I saw somebody else already request the same thing and I don't know if it just wasn't read or denied.
But I would also like to see other alignment of the orderbook.
Now it is like this:

1145.1413 0.0240
         0000 358.53
1144.9999 0.0873

But it is easier to read/interpret if the point is in the same column like:

1145.1413      0.0240
         0000  358.53
1144.9999      0.0873

Same counts for the grouped bid/ask:
this:
1210 3353
1145 418
1140 37

should be this:
1145   418
1140     37

Thank you for suggestion.
For the first, text will overflow for the Orderbook in some browser if they don't have Consolas font.
For the second, I prefer to see amount immediately without eye sight movement.

BitcoinWisdom has no plan to change unit yet.
There is 2 major reason:
Charts site unit should follow the exchange, there is no mBTC/USD pair in exchange.
According 1 XAU equals 1200 USD and people won't use mOz or gram instead of Oz for listing. also there is no other unit such as Cents will be used for forex.

For some reason tonight my ISP changed my IP as a matter of course since I don't have a static IP, and the IP they changed me to happens to not load bitcoinwisdom. I can only get the charts now from my cellular IP.

On my cable modem I always get a message saying retry in 5 seconds probably you've exceeded 8 connections, even when there aren't even 1 connection.

Can you unblacklist my cable modem IP or do something to fix this?

My user name on bitcoinwisdom is the same as it is in the forums here if you need to check your logs.

The IP that's being blocked is 74.78.219.253

Edit:
There is 1 instance of bitcoinwisdom open on my network that's stayed open all week since before there was a problem opening it. It's still up.

Could it be that Chrome.exe which uses multiple instances of itself which all use a connection making multiple connections to the server for that 1 tab?
I'm sorry for inconvienece.
You could open chrome://net-internals/#sockets to see the number of connections.
Only the connections on *.bitcoinwisdom.com:8080 is counted. bitcoinwisdom.com:80 is not included. When open 4 tab the connection is 6 in my browser.

I think you fail to see the reason of a premium account. It's more a donation rather than an upgrade.

This is a meaningless statement.  How do we know donations have not, for example, exceeded $1 million?  They probably haven't, but maybe at some point they will.  And there's no way to tell since the "donation" address is not pooled.

It's not "greedy" to say what you're willing to pay for something.  If it's all donations anyway, isn't a donation of any amount necessarily the opposite of greedy?  That's basically the definition of donation: giving something away at a loss to yourself.

Maybe Bitcoinwisdom are the "greedy idiots."  They are not transparent about how many "donations" they've received, potentially leading many people do donate more than they otherwise would.  I suspect this will not be changed; the obfuscation is intentional for this reason precisely.

What the hell, people? Why is this discussion still going on...

Fact time:

a) Bitcoinwisdom is a fantastic service. Probably the best real-time BTC charting site at the moment.

b) IT'S. FUCKING. FOR. FREE.

c) Let that sink in, you clowns.

d) Now, if you want to support the site, and get rif of ads, you subscribe.

e) And if you don't want to subscribe: don't. You can still use the entire site's functionality.

f) Really, people are weird sometimes....

@Bitcoinwisdom

Bitstamp API seems to be screwed up, or your site parses the data wrong, but current trades are displayed as a candle that is 2 or 3 hours in the past. Can you look into that?

Would love it if Justcoin was added.

Mainly interested in BTC/NOK

They also have BTC/EUR, BTC/USD, BTC/LTC and BTC/XRP
I just checked justcoin, but I even cannot finish the registration.
Tried register twice and finally get active mail. and then try active with cellphone, but no code received. Now it is failed to login, try recover password and it shows only activated user can reset password.

Please send me a mail at klaus@justcoin.com and I will solve this immediately. Some users were not able to receive the text message for account verification. Therefore, we switched from Tropo to Twilio as provider of this service two days ago. Should work seamless now.

I have been wanting to get Justcoin featured at bitcoinwisdom.com since it was released! :)
