Using pooled mining because fuck competition.

What are you running?

Thank you in advance...
446  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Asic Miners - where to buy? on: June 19, 2013, 08:40:11 AM
I want to buy ASIC miners for setting up a mining farm in France. Where can I buy them? I heard there are too many scammers around  Huh

Good question investorbitcoin65,

Because your assumptions are probably correct.  Here are a list of ASIC miner's that I have compiled over the past few months...  Please note that I have not purchased from any of them except Butterfly Labs....

www.butterflylabs.com
www.bitcoinx.com/bitcoin-mining-hardware
http://avalon-asics.com/‎
http://www.asicrigs.com/
http://wpamining.com/
https://cryoniks.com/#!/home/

Butterfly is legit, they just missed the boat on the manufacturing process and were slow to release there product.  They are shipping units, just not as fast as they hoped.  They are probably still your best bet out of the group listed, but you will just have to wait till Sept or October before you get your order.

Hope this helps?

In the mean time there are plenty of non ASIC based coins you can mine with your GPU before then, my personal favorite is FastCoin, but certainly LiteCoin is a good alternative as well.

lol
this thread made my day.

at first: if purchasing digital goods transaction conf time does not matter. just revoke access and remove from device.

second (if btc and fastcoin would have same diff) btc six conf security would require fastcoin trans conf for one hour.

witv faster coins only the first conf is faster. to secure a transaction the same time is required

Thank you for your post and participation Flower1024!  I appreciate it.

That's not a binary number in your name I see is it?   Roll Eyes

Can you reference any technical material to expand upon your point?

Definitely Fastcoin because of the insane confirmation/transaction speeds. of all the hazard coins this  one is a winner. i could totally see it becoming an appstore currency, or even being useable on services like steam

fjdMddHtGwL5dVwsXmDwrxVSP9TL2CVnMC.

Thank you r3wt,

Could you elaborate on any of the other coin's out there that could be contenders besides FastCoin?  Could you reference any specific technical elements that would need to be considered?

well you have Digital coin for starters. You can already purchase steam games with DGC via a 3rd party website, so its not unreasonable to think that it would translate well to the mobile market. my usual transactions take around 2-3 minutes for all confirms, but the transaction shows up within seconds as unconfirmed. Its more secure than Fast coin but it sacrifices a bit of speed. The coin itself  features a unique dynamic retarget with ultra fast 5 confirms. not to mention the network is secured via merge mining with ARG. Digital coin(DGC) just broke 110k on total market value today. pretty impressive imo. It's already much faster than litecoin, too. The only other realistic option at this point is Litecoin, which is still slower than FST and DGC but is more valuable and well established.

Thanks r3wt,

What coin do you think will have the greatest impact in developing countries in Africa, South America, and the Middle East, where mobile communications is growing at a faster rate than anywhere else on the planet?
Well that's where fastcoin could really carve a niche cheetahx. it will offer mobile users in developing countries fast transactions with digital currency, essentially offering an advantage over slower transacting coins. To that end however, changes will have to be to both the client, as well as some common features that need to be added such as: Short Addresses, Online wallets, and Commecial Services that can be purchased with the coin.

Nice,

I like where you are going with this r3wt,

Can you give me any examples of what you mean?  Post any relevant reference links you may find with your favorite search engine?

Which Crypto based coin do you think is best suited for Fast Mobile based applications?

Of all of the current Crypto based currencies on the market today, which ones do you think are the best poised for growth specifically for fast Mobile based applications like iPhones and Android based devices?

Please try to be as comprehensive as possible, and if you could reference any technical material to substantiate your position that would be great.

Also please be sure to leave your FastCoin address when answering...

If you don't have a FastCoin wallet you can download it here...

455  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: //// Why are BTC profits dropping so low?? \\\ on: June 19, 2013, 07:11:23 AM
Hi there,

In May I was getting over .1 BTC per day on a little more than 1600 Mhash, now a month later its almost as low as .025, a quarter of what it was.

What is going on ? What should 1600 Mhash be producing per day, approximately?

any ideas??

Time to move to an easier coin, which has a better return on investment, mine them, and then sell them back into BitCoins.  There are many Alt coin's to choose from at the moment, as a useful guide I use the following site to help me understand the most profitable...

http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency/

To be perfectly clear, I am not a pump and dump shill, but my personal favorite at the moment is FastCoin.  If you would like to learn more about that coin you can click here...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=237703.0

, but any coin that tickles your fancy on that list that has a greater return on investment of resources should do the trick.  It is important to check the list daily, as prices constantly fluctuate.

Cheers and good luck!

457  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sapphire 7990 Extremely Hot Running CGminer - Need Suggestions on: June 19, 2013, 06:34:33 AM
I bought a 7990 the temps are slightly higher than the reviews I've read. It's idling at  50c. In games under full load it seems to run normal temps around 83c. When I run CGMiner it shoots through the roof to +100c before I shut it down. I've tried lowering -I to 4 and even down clocked the gpu to 550mhz from 1000mhz and ram down to 200mhz still shoots up really high. Is there a configuration in CGMiner that might help or any other suggestions?

I have a gaming case, I'm going to beef up the fans but my 7970 never had a heat issue.

Hi Arucs,

You can try running a low intensive script miner Coin like FastCoin, you can download it here...

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B-lUxAN4BdWcYnpuYlo2RmFrd2s/edit?usp=sharing

Download the wallet and see if you get the same results.

Currently it is less resource intensive then mining for BitCoin and Litecoin at the moment.  You might want to turn up the fans to 100% before you start mining as well.

The other possibility is that the fan's aren't running fast enough, you might have a defective card, I would return it and swap it out for a new one.

If you want to learn more about FastCoin click here...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=237703.0

Good luck with the card, hope this helps you out...

wow, really? your going to plug your shit coin into this thread?
he's hashing scrypt, it doesn't matter if he was mining litecoin or your shitcoin.

OP if you got problems with temperatures, either open your case for better ventilation, install extra fans, or flash your bios and undervolt.

lazydna,

Please tell me why you talk badly about FastCoin?  If you have an alternative coin to suggest I would love to hear about it?  It's not my intention to talk negatively about any coin and I would appreciate it if you could substantiate your position with some facts if you have any?  Or perhaps you might be able to talk more positively about other coin's before slamming the FastCoin.  Did you have a bad experience with this coin?  Please do tell...

Peace.

no because it's quite obvious you're a shill for the copy-pasta-get-rich-quick-clone-coins and your trying to get as many uninformed newbies into mining your coin so you can eventually dump it at an exchange. this isn't even the place to discuss this, stick to the thread topic.

Wow that's quite an accusation!  Your right, this is not the place for this discussion, but I can assure you I am not a pump and dump shill.  True I am currently passionate about the FastCoin, but I think it is premature to make this type of accusation.  What Script base coin would you suggest to mine, do you believe that BitCoin and LiteCoin are the only viable options at this point?

btc, ltc, ppc, frc, nmc all viable. why? because they all do something different. They are innovative. Fast coin? it's just litecoin with orphans and you know what? if fast coins faster block times are really good, Litecoin can easily adapt and take it from fastcoin rendering it worthless.

people are only interested in fastcoin because the difficulty starts low and rewards early adopters, so everyone's trying to push their copy pasta coins to the newbs in hopes that one day their 'early adopters' bonus kicks in and they can reap a profit. I got no problems with alt coins that are innovative but Fastcoin is just the 'I missed the early BTC and LTC boat so i'll try and make my own' attitude.

Thanks for your reply lazydna,

I respect your comments, its interesting that you selected FRC as part of the mentioned list.  BTC, LTC I am familiar with and have mined extensively, I have also mined FRC but I was turned off with the amount of time it took to confirm newly mined coins.  I like the concept with respects to demurrage idea with FRC, it certainly made the coin interesting and unique.

Do you know why it takes so long for the mined coins to be confirmed?  Again I apologize in advance as this may not be the best thread to discuss this.  But I would be open to open a new thread on this subject as I can see you have some depth and substance in this subject.

Sincerely

/C

As far as i can tell he was just helping

I used BBQcoin to get an understanding of how linux and solo mining worked. Its not a bad idea finding a young alt coin to solo mine, that way u can see what its like to find blocks urself and how to handle transactions between wallets before goin to a high end coin.

Thank you Lothy,

I originally started out as a die hard Bitcoin miner, put all of my 20 GHs GPU Farm hard at work, and as soon as the ASIC units started to come online I was forced to move my GPU gear over to Litecoin.  But I don't understand why everyone just automatically assumes that Litecoin is the best choice?  It seems to me that mining for Litecoin is getting saturated as well, it was nice to see some of the other Alt Coin's which I will not mention again because I don't want to further offend anyone with my current passion.  I will do my best to stick to the thread topic, sorry if I may have offended any of you that was not my intent.

Peace.
