441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: whats your plans for the year 2018 on: August 09, 2018, 06:33:27 AM
my plan is to keep 6 potential alt coins till year end. at least keep until bull market. specially coins are req, ada, trx, prl ,cs and snov. i wish two bull markets will come in this year

https://www.bitcoinmarena.info

My plans for this year is to expand and  continue to grow my knowledge about cryptocurrency. I am also planning to hold all of my altcoins from my bounty signature campaigns and airdrops. I am still studying, therefore it is hard to save some of my money for altcoins. Growing my knowledge and exploring cryptocurrency is my main goal for this year.
442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What does crypto mean to you on: August 07, 2018, 06:58:18 AM
What does crypto mean to you - a means to a fast buck or a step into the future.

Cryptocurrency for me is a big thing in the future. It is a great discovery that will help us in the future. You can do transactions in a decentralized and safe way. Some people think that cryptocurrency is a way to earn money. But for me it will play a big part in the future.
443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any advice for a newbie? on: August 06, 2018, 11:55:32 AM
Hi guys,

Newbie here trying to set up a crypto profile. 1 month ago I had heard the name Bitcoin but didn't know what it was other than a digital currency and had not heard of any alt coins so bear with me  Undecided

I don't have a huge amount to invest, thus far i have 0.13 BTC and 2 ETH, 2.6k XRP AND 50 OMG. I want to keep adding to this and keep it for as long as needed, i  am not really interested in trading as i don't understand this space enough to do that.

Any ideas or thoughts? Should i move any of these around? Concentrate on adding to bitcoin? Add to XRP/OMG etc etc???

Also i have a ledger nano s en route to keep my coins.

cheers

For me, I suggest that you must try research in this forum in earn to gain knowledge about Cryptocurrency and investing. It will be hard to reach your goal in cryptocurrency and investing if you do not have a sufficient knowledge about it. There are many threads and posts in this forum can help you gain knowledge about cryptocurrency. You can also try to search in google when something in this forum makes you curious. Explore this forum. Be patient. Be positive. Smiley
444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin or litecoin ? on: August 06, 2018, 01:34:24 AM
Well? Let's hear it.

In terms of its technological features, Litecoin is better than Bitcoin. Litecoin has a faster and more efficient algorithm system (Scrypt) than Bitcoin's algorithm system (SHA 256). Some thinks that Bitcoin's algorithm system is safer than Litecoin's because of SHA 256 is slower. In terms of investment, I think they are both good investment because they are both growing. In terms of long term investment, I would say Bitcoin because it is more popular and it will reach its supply limit first than Litecoin.
445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What you do when someone say bitcoin is illegal thing? on: August 04, 2018, 10:46:43 AM
Most of the common people think that bitcoin is used only by hackers and criminals, even one of my friend said that it is used by hackers when I am telling about crypto currency to him.Later I explained what is bitcoin and other crypto currencies but still he confused,he can only get what is bitcoin when he research about himself.

In this situation how can we explain that what is real bitcoin?

In this situation, I will explain to him that his view about Bitcoin is wrong by explaining it to him in  a good manner. If he will not change his mind, then okay. If he will, I will introduce and explain to him better and deeper. Sometimes, News that a person will find might change a person's perspective about something without knowing what is the true meaning of that. That is why some people have a different perspective to Bitcoin because they do not know/researched about it.
446  Economy / Economics / Re: Investment in Bitcoin vs Investment in Education? on: August 03, 2018, 06:35:50 AM
For me, I will invest in education. Investing in education is less risky than  investing in cryptocurrency. All you need is hard work and dedication in your education, then you will find a decent job. Investing in cryptocurrency is good if you finished your degree/education. Investing in cryptocurrency is another way of earning money if you have a job already.
447  Economy / Economics / Re: Charity Accepting Bitcoins? on: August 01, 2018, 06:35:33 AM
It is possible, but the volatile price of Bitcoin can change the value of your Bitcoin. If I will donate something to charity, I would donate goods that will be useful for people who are those in need. It will be more hassle for the charity because they will convert the Bitcoin into fiat then they will buy something. I will donate goods instead of fiat or Bitcoin.
448  Economy / Economics / Re: When is the best time of the day to study about Economics? on: July 31, 2018, 10:57:50 AM
I am currently enrolled in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and we have this subject called Economics, I just want to ask when is the best time to study about Economics (and also other subjects). Is it better to study at night or early morning? What's your study routine guys?

It depends if you are a daytime person or a night owl person. Based on my experience, I study after I took a nap. I suggest that you study when your mind is free from all stress. It will be hard to concentrate if you are tired. Take a rest first, then if your mind is refreshed then you can go study. As a student, time management is the key in order to finish the tasks that you need to finish. Also, do not study when you are hungry. It is really hard to concentrate if you are hungry.
449  Economy / Economics / Re: With Hackers everywhere, How safe is Cryptocurrency? on: July 31, 2018, 02:55:13 AM
Its no longer news that an ICO in Japan has lost over $400 million to hackers. They promised to pay back investors who invested in their ICO. Thsi is a huge loss. After I read that news, I began to wonder. How safe is Bitcoin and Other altcoins? What measures should we take to avoid being hacked ?
In order to avoid being hacked, I suggest that you must be careful. Do not give your keys to your wallet to anyone. If you really want a safe wallet, I suggest you can try paper or hardware wallet. If you have an online wallet, be careful in what site you are logging into. Check if the website has a secure connection. Being careful is the only way to make sure your wallet is safe.
450  Economy / Economics / Re: When will smartphones used for bitcoin mining? on: July 30, 2018, 10:05:05 AM
As we all know that smartphones are just like computer nowadays that has strong storage capacity and processor. This I think could be enable to mine bitcoin and this is what I am waiting for if there are any smartphones company that would offer their smartphones for bitcoin mining or even as a smartphone that works as digital hardware wallet for bitcoin and other crypto. I am waiting for it to happen. Do you think that it will happen?

As of now, smartphones do not have the capability to  mine because they do not have the graphics card that is suitable for Mining. In the future it might be possible because technology is rising rapidly. If you really want to mine now you really need a big amount of money and you need to consult people who have experience in mining in order to make your cryptocurrency mining successful.
451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what's your reason joining here in crypto? on: July 29, 2018, 10:33:34 AM
what's your reason joining here in crypto?

The reason I am joining in cryptocurrency because I wanted to learn something new. I do also want to earn some altcoins in this forum by joining bounty signature campaigns and airdrops. I also joined cryptocurrency because I think it is the next big thing in the future.
452  Economy / Economics / Re: How bitcoin can help for working abroad specially OFW on: July 29, 2018, 09:49:21 AM
Bitcoin/Coins.ph are so many way to make our life easier specially for OFW.
*They can use it to remit a money for their family in Philippines in a very convenient.
*Bitcoin is also way to earn extra money by using earning some satoshi or faucet.
Please share more on how bitcoin can help.

I do agree that Bitcoin is really helpful for Filipinos abroad. I also agree that OFW can send their Bitcoins anywhere in the Philippines in a convenient way as long as their coins.ph is accessible. The only problem with sending Bitcoins, the value might go up or go down to the person who will receive and convert it to money. Bitcoin, specifically in this forum, can also help OFW to earn money by joining different campaigns and airdrops.
453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bit Coin is a Ponzi Scheme on: July 28, 2018, 02:40:14 PM
Bit coin is a Ponzi scheme. Don't listen to the bit coin shills on here. The newcomers buying into bit coin and driving up the price are just making the early adopters richer.

That's how stupid people are. A sucker is born every minute. But YOU don't have to be one like all the other bit coiners.

The USD is a valid currency because people are required by law to recognize it's value. It has value because the most powerful superpower on the face of the Earth uses it and backs it.

Where does bit coin get its value from? Some computer nerds living in their mothers' basements and Chinese speculators who say it has value? The few online drug dealers who accept it?

If you can't figure out that buying into a totally faith-based economy, with no regulation whatsoever, of a imaginary currency that only exists virtually, through a broker that has no compelling reason to give you any of your money back other than possible negative word-of-mouth, is a bad idea, then maybe you should really consider spending less time speculating on BTC and more time getting remedial education.
Bitcoin is not a ponzi scheme. Its price is based on the law of demand and supply. Bitcoin never promised that you will earn money from it or satoshi didn't mentioned in his proposal that Bitcoin will be an investment. Due to the volatility, people took the advantage to earn money from Bitcoin.
454  Economy / Economics / Re: I almost lost my rock solid regular job because of crypto on: July 28, 2018, 12:16:21 PM
Like the title says, i almost lost my regular job as a software developer today when my boss reviewed my work. The job has been able to economically provide a comfortable life for me and losing it would really be a big hit to my income. I almost lost it because i spent so much time learning about everything crypto (mining, trading, bounties, etc.).

Has anyone else experienced this? I just feel pretty lucky I was given another chance and want to remind other people that having a regular job is much better than relying on the volatility of cryptocurrencies. Make sure you prioritize your work!

Based on my experience as a student, Time management is needed if you are studying, doing the school works, and doing your bounty campaign at the same time. I do agree that focusing on your regular job must be a priority first than doing things in cryptocurrency (bounty, mining, trading, etc.) and learning cryptocurrency. Still, you can focus both with time management.
455  Economy / Economics / Re: Beliefs about money and wealth on: July 25, 2018, 02:37:51 AM
Everyones hasn diferent beliefs about money and wealth. See for example 35 different ways of thinking about it here:
https://daringtolivefully.com/powerful-beliefs-about-money

One famous author, not my favourite, yet an influential one is Robert Kyosaki. In his book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", he examines two different beliefs and states that those believes will shape your success.

What of these do you agree with? What other beliefs do you have about money?

1 - Millionaires are greedy, that is why they become millionaires.
2 - Company managers just want to use the workers to make themselves rich and others poor.
3 - Having money is a question of luck, if not of "gods grace".
4 - Debt is always bad.
5 - To make money, you just need to have a great idea nobody thought off.
6 - Cryptos are the way to make money and be successful without having to put effort into it.
7 - To become rich I just have to believe in Bitcoin because many people have become rich doing that.
8 - To become rich I just have to be more clever and streetwise than everyone around to get my share of the cake.

Your turn to think ...

(EDIT: These are NOT my beliefs, at least not necessarily, is just a list to think. Is not the list by Robert K. either.)

1. I do not think that all Millionaires are like that. Some might be trying to be innovative for the better.
2. I do not like this belief. Caring for your workers make your company a better one. Caring for your workers make them motivate more.
3. No, having money is not pure luck. For me, in earning money you only need the passion and knowledge.
4. Yes, for me, debt can give you more problems in starting your business. If you are willing to take the risk, then go.
5. I do agree with this. Being an innovative person can give you a lot of money.
6.  I do not agree that. Investing in cryptocurrency requires a good amount of knowledge in order to be successful. You really need to put a lot of effort in order to reach your goals.
456  Economy / Economics / Re: Does money make you rich? on: July 24, 2018, 08:12:25 AM
To me the answer is No. Money alone doesn't make an individual rich. A lot of people go to work everyday, working for money and making more money, but fail to become richer. Ironically, many only grow deeper in debt.we have all heard stories of lottery winners who are instantly poor again. Also there are cases of real estate going into foreclosure instead of making homeowners richer. We all know of persons who have lost money investing in the stock market. Maybe you are one of those individuals who have lost money investing on cryptocurrency,Bitcoin to be precise. Even investing in gold(real money) can cost the investor money

For all intents and purposes, it is not business, estates, stocks, bitcoin (crypto currency) or money that makes a person rich. It is information, wisdom, knowledge that makes one wealthy.

For me, being rich is a person who has a lot of money that can fulfill both his needs and wants, therefore it is a yes. But if you want to earn money in order to become rich you do not really need money at all. I do agree that the wisdom, knowledge, and passion is the thing you needed in order to be rich. Without money you will not be called rich. If you want to be rich you don't need money at all. Knowledge, wisdom, and passion is the key to help you earn money and become a rich person.
457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Patience is the key on: July 24, 2018, 05:40:53 AM
As a matter of fact, it is very few number of noobs in the cryptocurrency business that understand the level at which patience is required and valuable in the business. I do tell my friends around me that wish to come in to the business “it’s only patience ones that would feed from the milk of a lion” . I bought some coins few weeks ago, which I decided to hold while it was dipping but I keep holding with zero fear and absolute patience. Presently, i’m In over 47% profit in all. My advice to my colleagues is all you need is buy into coins with good potential and relax even while it’s at dip. Trust me, you won’t live to regret anything if only you would be able to hold with patience. Thanks

I do agree. Having the patience and fighting your fears can really help you reach your goal in cryptocurrency. In order to avoid your fear of losing your investment, you must have the knowledge on what you are investing. Having the adequate knowledge about investing and cryptocurrency will help you avoid such risks. You can also try to consult and ask your friends who are investing and follow their tips. Do not be afraid if you have the knowledge. Be patient. Everything has a right time and season.
458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My Future in Crypto on: July 22, 2018, 12:19:19 PM
Yes it is good if you don't have a job before joining crypto world but I will like to seek ideas from those that have reasonable jobs and I really want to know if you truly believe in Crypto so as to give away your job and fully dedicate full time to crypto or its not worth leaving everything because I see it as a long journey which I need to learn everyday.

I do believe that cryptocurrency has a future. Leaving your job for cryptocurrency will be hard because cryptocurrency is not acceptable by many as of now. It is really hard to find a job, why will you sacrifice it? You can focus in your crypto career without sacrificing your job.
459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe in crypto long-term? on: July 21, 2018, 01:18:36 PM
Do you really look for a long term profit, like the people who had bitcoin in 2014 or are you here trying to get a quick buck with a minimum effort?

I do prefer the long term profit. I do have the patience to wait and hold my Bitcoin. I am also trying to join bounty campaigns in order to earn different altcoins. Joining in this forum, participating in the bounty campaigns, and investing really needs a lot of effort. Both of these really need an adequate knowledge and effort in order to reach your goal.  Giving all your best efforts will bear a huge fruit and will help to reach your goals.
460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypro will make people smarter? on: July 20, 2018, 05:59:35 PM
I reflect on the fact that lack of regulation in the field of crypto currency, gives wide opportunities for scam projects. And it will not be possible to regulate the cryptocurrency, no matter how much the goverments want to do it. In the fact that in the world of crypto, lots of scammers and they remain unpunished, I see one big plus.

People will be forced to learn to be more insightful, calculating and rational or will be scammed. Protection from the state decrease our instinct of self-preservation and slowed our development.

Crypto currency will make the next generation of people smarter.

Let's discuss this topic.

I agree. Before you start investing in cryptocurrency, you need to be wise in order to stay alive. I also think that cryptocurrency can make people become more diligent in doing their research in order to gain knowledge. Cryptocurrency is not yet taught in schools, therefore you really need to find a way to know more about cryptocurrency on your own.
