441  Other / Meta / Re: Addition of more forum boards/sections and modifications. Any need currently? on: July 12, 2023, 08:40:20 PM
The forum gets much less traffic than in the past and there are fewer threads opened every day. There is no need to add new boards right now. In fact some of the existing ones can even be archived due to inactivity. In order to open a new board, a large part of the existing board should be filled with topics about considered section. Otherwise, there is no need to open a new board.
442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who Buys Bitcoin When The Price is 100k$? on: July 11, 2023, 11:37:56 PM
You may be new here but believe me these issues have been discussed when Bitcoin will be $1000 and also when it will be $10.000. You say who will buy Bitcoin when it will be 100k, there are those who expect Bitcoin to rise even higher, to reach 1 million dollars and beyond. Always aim higher prices. Bitcoin's deflationary nature allows this. The depreciation of the dollar and fiat money in general also contributes to this situation.
Don't worry, Bitcoin finds buyers at any price. Even assets that have no value can be sold at exorbitant prices, while Bitcoin has a purpose and value, of course it will have more users.

444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you Have Any Bitcoin Stories from a Decade Ago? on: July 07, 2023, 10:55:42 PM
I have plenty of stories from a decade ago, just like most of the Legendary users here. None of them can be like the first transaction that Lazslo did or other big stories. They shaped history, touched the lives of many people. Now those stories have become the property of the society, they have a place beyond individual memories. Some new members have a hard time realizing how valuable they are. I'm pretty sure if you spend more time here, these legendary stories will start to interest you more. Smiley
445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best Price To Buy Ethereum on: July 07, 2023, 09:47:27 PM
The best price was ICO price but a lot of people missed it. Now it's hard to make price predictions about Ethereum when it's already over 1800 USD.
Good thing is Ethereum is still below its all time high so you can make an assumption of going higher than all time high price in the next bubble. Other positive thing for ETH is it switched to a proof of stake consensus mechanism and there will be less coins in time. Buy whatever price fits you, don't listen to others much.
446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kyc for accounts or wallets on: July 07, 2023, 08:50:31 PM
Some wallets require KYC, but not for holding and receiving coins, obviously. It's required for buying or selling coins directly in the same app.

I guess that's why OP confused. Normally there is no KYC process for Bitcoin wallets but centralized exchanges started to develop apps that enable to buy/sell/trade coins so OP think those are wallets as well.
You don't need to do KYC to use crypto-currencies unless you are in a centralized system such as Binance app. Newbies should learn how to use crypto-currencies and know which exchanges are secure before giving their ID's on apps.
447  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed to post in English in a Local Section on: July 07, 2023, 08:28:07 AM
If you have a question for Turkish people or about Türkiye you can ask English in our local board. These are rare occasions but I let these posts to stay. Some examples from first few pages would be these:
Thanks Türkiye.
Bitcoin Wallet with Turkish seed words, what is it?

Just as you cannot write in your native language in English boards, you cannot write in English in local boards, otherwise your post will be deleted.
448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 07, 2023, 08:16:07 AM
Here's the Mock Trade:

Miami Heat gets:
Damian Lillard
Jusuf Nurkic

Portland Trail Blazers gets:
Ben Simmons
Kyle Lowry
Nikola Jovic
2028 first-round pick (via Brooklyn)
2028 first-round pick (via Miami)
2030 first-round pick (via Miami)

Brooklyn Nets gets:
Tyler Herro
2026 second-round pick (via Miami)

Source: https://allucanheat.com/2023/07/06/perfect-3-team-trade-damian-lillard-miami-heat/

If this trade happens Heat would rob all of them. Getting Lillard and Nurkić for basically nothing is a great deal for them. Lowry is at the retirement stage, maybe this is his last year. Nikola Jović didn't get any time in Heat and Herro is not an indispensable player. Jimmy Butler and Damian Lillard combo would work in next 2 seasons as we may see Heat in finals again.
449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH vs BTC future growth potential on: July 07, 2023, 07:57:51 AM
You could compare bitcoin separately and ethereum separately the two cannot be compared simultaneously. There are many differences between Bitcoin and Ethereum. On the one hand, Bitcoin is the most popular and valuable coin among all cryptocurrencies and Ethereum is one of the most promising ALT coins. And the fact that you compare Ethereum to Bitcoin depends on the price of Ethereum to Bitcoin. That is, the price of Ethereum up and down is directly dependent on Bitcoin. And I believe Bitcoin is capable of gaining more popularity in the future, but it is difficult for Ethereum to achieve the same level of popularity as Bitcoin.

It's not a popularity contest. Both coins have different usages. While Bitcoin is mostly used as a store of value, Ethereum opens the doors of DeFi. There are hundreds of different ecosystems running under Ethreum, and some of them have gotten huge. Bitcoin's promises are different, Ethereum's are different.
As Ethereum went to reduce the supply of coins, the potential for growth is greater now than before. Still, I wouldn't give Ethereum a big place in my portfolio.
450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accepting Bitcoin on: July 06, 2023, 11:58:43 PM
Accepting Bitcoin for goods and services are banned in Türkiye. If your country have similar laws you can't accept Bitcoin. Otherwise there is no reason to not accept it. In fact, making such an innovation puts you one step ahead in that sector. Of course, the country also needs to be advanced in Bitcoin awareness and ownership.
This is of little use if the number of Bitcoin users in your country is low or the internet usage rates are limited.
451  Economy / Speculation / Re: Less than 300 days left to halving - price predictions for The Day? on: July 06, 2023, 11:44:49 PM
When you predict a price that may be your target and affect your future decisions. I would acccumulate as much as coins until that day comes.
We were sure the previous bull would see 100k but it didn't get that far. I don't want to make a similar guess now. All I want is to have more Bitcoin. So the longer it stays at these prices, the better for me.
452  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk and the fall of Twitter on: July 06, 2023, 11:14:23 AM
Do you think Threads will be a serious competitor of Twitter? People are eager to try new apps but also some old habits don't change easily.
I feel like Twitter was a dying place way before Threads and now they have to compete with them. Maybe the real fight between Musk and Zuckerberg is this one.
453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 05, 2023, 11:47:42 PM
So does that mean Steph Curry can't throw himself to the ground after every single 3-point shot he made? Great news then.
Good for basketball, bad for floppers. I hope refs will strictly apply that rule in games.
454  Economy / Speculation / Re: 30k Bitch!!! on: July 05, 2023, 11:33:12 PM
Or btc is starting to look more like a stablecoin in 30k range, the price seem to be stuck in 30k range for quite a long time now that it's beginning to be very boring. Market looks stagnant, alts are a complete shit at the moment.
About time we either get pass 30k or get way below it for another push, at last it will create a bit of movement.

Since we all know it will go up soon I don't see any problem about spending more time on 30's. It gives us an opportunity to accumulate more Bitcoin.
When we consider mining cost I don't see BTC below 30k for long, it would be absurd to expect lower prices. Seems like we already have a new floor price now.
455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I sold the altcoins and invested in Bitcoin" on: July 05, 2023, 12:52:42 PM
Bitcoin is the safest crypto-currency so risk/reward ratio is different than altcoins. If you want to get rich quickly Bitcoin is not the one you are looking for. Bitcoin investors can sleep comfortable, they don't have to worry about %90 falls overnight. Bitcoin passed that test and prove itself after all these years. I think you made a good decision for now. I suggest you to save some money to invest in new major altcoins besides your Bitcoin investment. It's always good to diversify.
456  Economy / Economics / Re: What could Elon Musk be buying next? on: July 04, 2023, 12:18:28 AM
Elon will buy this forum, thank me later.

Not gonna happen but would be funny to think about. I can imagine too many jokes about that.

He won't be buying anything major. He's already said he plans to consolidate companies into his "X" app, similar to "WeChat" in China. Given how much he sunk into Twitter, it wouldn't be too wise to make another impulse buy.

That would be wise move for him. He already spent way more than he should on Twitter so I don't think he'd buy the next big thing. Instead he would create it. Obviously there's a new app needed since Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and all other social media services are out of fashion. He may fulfill that need.
457  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BTA.lk - Official unofficial Bitcointalk short links on: July 02, 2023, 03:23:32 PM
Can't believe I missed this thread. It's probably because I don't check Project Development too often. It looks useful for signatures most.
Thanks for this free link shortened service Cyrus! I'll open an announcement thread in our local board.

I'd like to go on with this campaign as well. BTC address is same.
