441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Question to all... on: June 13, 2011, 05:39:46 AM
No. That looks like a fucking virus to me.
442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can trolls affect a solid currency? on: June 13, 2011, 05:17:33 AM
I'm not trying to ruffle anyones feathers here, but theres other places that talk about bitcoin other than bitcoin.org. I think it's disingenuous to say rumors, bullshit and trickery don't play a roll in a free market.
443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can trolls affect a solid currency? on: June 13, 2011, 05:02:10 AM
Are you kidding me? There was a massive panic less than 24 hours ago. I'm not blaming the trolls fully, but they no way helped matters. You guys even choked this forum's supply of fresh blood by introducing the noob forum. Curiously enough right when confidence was at an all time low. And you're going to tell me they have no impact?
444  Economy / Trading Discussion / Tips on musicians making bitcoin? on: June 13, 2011, 02:17:25 AM
I've been a fan of my friend's music for years. Now that I'm excited about this bitcoin thing I naturally suggested that he make a donations link accepting bitcoins. His music is free, but it's been a month and he hasn't gotten anything. I posted it up on reddit and the bitcoin wiki. We're both entertaining the idea that maybe he's just a talentless hack.

In case he isn't, what would you recommended he try and do?
445  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: FOR SALE: PCIe x1 & x16 Extender Cables, Mining Chassis & GPU Dummy Plugs on: June 12, 2011, 09:42:50 PM
I ordered my cable Wednesday with the free shipping option and it showed up quickly, on a Saturday no less. If you need this, don't hesitate and don't buy it from ebay china.

Thanks again, dude.
446  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Has anyone tried mining with PS3? on: June 12, 2011, 09:39:52 PM
Please don't use a PS3 to mine. Even though the RSX isn't being used, I'd still expect a YLOD pretty quickly. You can get 2 to 3 times the hashing power if you used an ATI HD 4xxx card. Just dig around in random people's trashcans. I guarantee you find at least two.
447  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: Jailbroken Iphone 4 + Igrove case on: June 12, 2011, 08:16:50 PM
Damn it. Crisis averted I guess. I was hoping bitcoin would dip under $10. Is that evil?
448  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Jailbroken Iphone 4 + grove case on: June 12, 2011, 08:50:07 AM
Asking for 32 bitcoins through... well whatever replaces clearcoin. With this case http://www.grovemade.com/collections/iphone-4-case-artist-series/products/merman-iphone4.

iOS 4.3.3 (Cydia installed)
Modem firmware version 4.10.1 - so you'd need a Gevey (I suggest Supreme Pro).
USB cable + Outlet converter
Case in original shell with everything
No box or manual for iphone :/
Has around 5 or 6 months left on it's 1 year exchange.
Got it brand new from Apple care and played with it a few times. I use a Nokia 1861 with Tmobile.

Turns out, yes. Yes they can.
450  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Has anyone tried mining with PS3? on: June 12, 2011, 08:11:46 AM
21 mhashes apparently. You'd do twice better with a 40 dollar ati video card.

451  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie restrictions (Please discuss forum policy here.) on: June 12, 2011, 07:43:33 AM
This is my 49th post, so I'd say it's very fair.
452  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC will be below $11 by Tuesday, probably be below $7 by Friday. on: June 12, 2011, 12:10:02 AM
I'd say $15.
453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Lulzsec partly to blame for the bitcoin crash? on: June 12, 2011, 12:03:43 AM
MtGox doesn't let you take out more than $1000 a day or $10000 a month. So 1 guy made himself look like a ton of guys who rushed to sell. Bundle that up with trolls spamming forums with SELL SELL SELL.

Is that what it was?
454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Lulzsec partly to blame for the bitcoin crash? on: June 11, 2011, 11:10:02 PM
I don't get advice from them. But their impact does has an affect on what I choose to do, so I find it relevant to know if this panic is organic or not.
455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is Lulzsec partly to blame for the bitcoin crash? on: June 11, 2011, 11:02:49 PM
I know it was over valued, and this is a correction. But this screen shot was taken by a redditor (severedbrain).

They've since been deleted from his tweets. My guess is he's trying to double or even tripple up those bitcoin donations he received for releasing PS3's source code.
456  Economy / Marketplace / Re: anybody willing to donate to me i just got beat on: June 11, 2011, 06:14:26 AM
I lent a friend 500 bucks to pay rent because he was in tears (2 small girls and a wife). Never saw a dime. Sorry, guy.
457  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: best rate for mh/s from single card? best rate you've ever gotten including oc? on: June 10, 2011, 08:16:00 AM
828 mhashes/sec @ xfx 5970 black edition, OCed to 925/1300.

Nice mhash, I'm guessing water cooled? Does the memory have to be so high? I thought it did nothing.
458  Economy / Economics / Re: When will bitcoin go to 400? on: June 10, 2011, 07:39:17 AM
Why is it that bitocins are so awesome, yet the government wants it to be illegal? That sounds exactly like cannabis to me. Make it illegal. Let it go viral. Bitcoins utility is so great that confidence could fall to less than pennies and come back ten fold. We've already got the guns. You didn't think we'd make it to Walmart, did you?
459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Radeon 5970 cards Priced in BTC on: June 10, 2011, 05:49:08 AM
I wonder if a manufacturer in India could be convinced to start making 5970's again...

If they use leaded solder I'd be down.

Only a fool would sell a 5970 for 25 bitcoins right now.

And how's that...?
You get the same amount of purchasing power exchanged at the time of purchase.
Greed is a bish aint it? Smiley

Because if you accept bitcoins then that means you're in the bitcoin loop. Why not just mine 25 coins this month, then sell your card?
460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Radeon 5970 cards Priced in BTC on: June 10, 2011, 04:48:38 AM
Only a fool would sell a 5970 for 25 bitcoins right now.

And someone who sells for $750 is smarter? Not necessarily.

Never said that.
