441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does it make any sense to buy Bitcoin now? on: December 15, 2017, 04:12:03 PM
How long does one wait until the price drops if it even drops to a level that you are looking for? I think if you have the funds to buy bitcoin then just go ahead and buy it.

Will it ever offer the crazy % return that we have seen already? maybe as you never know what is around the corner, I think we will see the price at least double in the short term.
442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Japanese company will start paying salaries in Bitcoin on: December 15, 2017, 03:35:12 PM
Nice, good for those in Japan and hopefully this will spread to other countries, let's just hope that when you get paid on a Monday that by the Friday the bitcoin price hasn't tanked and you end up with a fraction of what you had on the Monday Smiley

Japan does look like it's leading the charge and adopting bitcoin much more that many countries, this will change next year.
443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is a million dollars possible? on: December 15, 2017, 01:41:07 PM
Definitely possible but it would take a lot of time and focus if you were to do it with the stable coins, you could also fall lucky with one of the other coins which should up drastically for no apparent reason, DOGE as an example will be due a rise at some point but it's never 100 x or anything like that but still if you can find coins like that i imagine the $1 million will be closer than you think.
444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin the New Gold & Dash for Payments? on: December 15, 2017, 10:32:44 AM
Will Bitcoin become the new gold and will Dash be used for daily payments? Any other potential crypto currencies in mind that can replace BTC or DASH?

I think so, but not necessarily DASH, there are a number of coins that could be the day to day payment coin, litecoin or ripple for example.

Bitcoin is slowly getting beyond the point of being used as an everyday payment method with fees as high as they are. I hope to see this price continue upwards in 2018.
445  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is anyone else having a problem sending altcoins from Coinbase? on: December 14, 2017, 09:52:01 PM
I am afraid that this is the problem with online wallets, so many new people will be told to go to Coinbase and I must admit I have referred a few people this week.

The problem with this for new people is that they are so used to the traditional banking ssystem and believe their funds are safe.

First step is getting people in but then after that it's trying to explain the pitfalls etc, many don't want to take the time, they just want to invest and get rich, the likes of Coinbase is great for new users but I think as a community we need to make sure that the new money is aware of
the situation.

What am I doing for this to be honest not a lot I work full time and each person I bring to the crypto world I try my best to explain things deeper but many not all but many just think it's a case of there's my $100 now where's my profit.

New money is good but I feel the understanding of crypto is lost with many of them, media is to blame also as they have no true understanding, rather a few so called "experts" will say their piece, but these folk are no longer relevant.

I think we as a community need to ensure that those we bring in are fully aware of crypto as a whole and that includes altcons and ICOs etc.

446  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-12]EBay is talking about adding Bitcoin payments on: December 14, 2017, 03:42:35 PM
They're too late. The jokes on them. Bitcoin is no longer a payment system. You can't buy stuff with it anymore because now it's a "store of value". Wink
I think you could be right on this, when transaction fees start to how up higher than a $5 item being purchased it becomes an issue, perhaps litecoin will be more suited to Ebay now, bitcoin is onto other things with the big boys Smiley
447  Economy / Economics / Re: popularity of bitcoin dictates demand, means more profit on: December 14, 2017, 03:18:21 PM
in my opinion, this is what happening right now as the trend of bitcoin price has been sky rocketing.  what do you think affects the price increase of bitcoin today?
Recently there has been a lot of new people being exposed to bitcoin, for example I have been able to introduce about 7 people to bitcoin and it was as easy as saying go to Coinbase and then purchase some, before when talking about bitcoin it would fall on deaf ears, I definitely think that the media exposure that it is currently getting and because of the price people are far more susceptible to listening on how to purchase some and how it all works.

I definitely think that a lot of people coming in now will be drawn to bitcoin because of the rise it has had in the last year, and this is one of the reasons that the price is what it is, hopefully these people will then look further into crypto and what bitcoin actually is beyond a supposed quick way to make money.

448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which wallet is the best for Bitcoin Now? on: December 14, 2017, 02:34:22 PM
Coinbase is okay as a wallet but the fact you do not control your own keys is always a problem, Blockchain you can have your keys so if they do go down you should be able to retrieve your coins.

I find Mycelium is a great wallet for Android, you get your keys and the interface is very user friendly, the best of all would be to use a hardware wallet and they are quite cheap now.
449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Social Media Influence bitcoin growth? on: December 14, 2017, 01:33:02 PM
Definitely, social media is huge and has heavy influence over most things in our lives especially places like Twitter, there is the chance that somebody retweets something and then this can be picked up by somebody that would not have normally seen the tweet.

I think it plays a large part in the exposure of bitcoin but also many of the smaller altcoins.
450  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Some Speculating Bitcoin To Crash? on: December 14, 2017, 01:12:34 PM

I could not understand why there are those who are also in Bitcoin yet are predicting that Bitcoin can go as low as $3,000 or even  $5,000 when a crash can happen soon. I am not saying that a dip -- a big dip -- will never happen but considering the things happening right now in the world of cryptocurrency, I don't believe that it can go as low as those figures.

Maybe if one day USA will decide to follow the footsteps of Japan in banning Bitcoin trading activities, then maybe it can be possible that Bitcoin can crash big time but even then it can still be able to recover fast due to people always waiting for an opportunity to buy Bitcoin cheaply.

Are you expecting Bitcoin to get so low once it crashed?
I think $3 or $5k is far too low, it will come down at some point but nowhere near that level hopefully, I think it will be hard now for bitcoin to fall below the $10,000 point.

People will fear that it will crash and even now when it dips a few % people start panicking and start saying it's crashing, many of the people saying this are new to bitcoin and are used to traditional stocks where a 10% drop would be significant, in Crypto these drops are the norm.
451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Amazing profits from ICO’s? ✅ on: December 14, 2017, 10:57:10 AM
Hi,

I think some people need more patient with their investment in ICO.
Check www.icostats.com. The profits are amazing!

You also need to have a good project for profits..
Purely depends on the project, a lot of people will invest in an ICO simply to make a quick profit when it hits an exchange, they will make their profit but if you as an investor actually believe in the project then you should be looking to hold for a bit longer until you at least give the project a change to start.
452  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell, Hold or Buy? on: December 13, 2017, 10:04:38 AM
What are you going to do with your Bitcoins and Dollars now?

I am a little mad at myself for not selling at 17k$ because I was too tired and just fell into the bed.
You could even do all three, sell some, hold some and buy some more.  If you are not the richest person and could do with the extra cash then selling some isn't the worst idea as long as you do keep some bitcoin for the journey otherwise I think you would be quite stressed if you missed out.
453  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What to buy? on: December 13, 2017, 08:13:06 AM
Hi, guys!
I am in cash in Bitfinex now, what would be your advise to do now? What coin to buy or to stay in cash? THANK YOU!
Maybe have a look at DOGE, it is due a pump and with it's old friend litecoin shooting up like it has I think it is just a matter of time until the DOGE has it's day but this is just in the very near future,

Long term perhaps some of the more established coins such as ETH, WAVES to name a couple.
454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRB] RaiBlocks Speculation Thread on: December 12, 2017, 04:48:43 PM
This was one that I had ages ago when it was far cheaper and I got rid, typically it is now actually going somewhere so I have to get back in now or I will have larger regrets, I look forward to trying out the mobile wallet, Bitgrail is currently having issues so I see not much has changed there.
455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am i late to buy bitcoin now ?? on: December 12, 2017, 02:29:29 PM
If you want to invest then now is the time to invest but just be happy if it dips after you invest but the way it has been going even if it dips slightly it will bounce right back up, terrible now to look back at the value of the 3 bitcoin you gambled but that's just the way it is, i have done the same you just have to have no regrets.
456  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who else wants Bitcoin as their Christmas present? on: December 12, 2017, 11:42:02 AM
Haha yes that would be nice and it would save Santa having to fly all around the world, he can just send it all in transactions.  I think 1 bitcoin is beyond anyone's limits for a Christmas present if you're lucky 0.1 would be a bit more reasonable, I know if my kids ever asked for a bitcoin for Christmas I might suggest a litecoin instead lol.
457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: OMG what happend with Litecoin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on: December 12, 2017, 11:13:29 AM
It is great to see litecoin finally get some decent attention it is deserved.  I am not sure I agree with a lot of people here saying it is just a pump and it will drop back down as much, it has a lot going for it and many things that bitcoin is lacking plus it is getting some serious media attention now and Charlie is quite the figure head to lead this march.

I think it will at least be getting close to $500 by the end of the year.
458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin is next Ethereum? on: December 12, 2017, 10:36:49 AM
Which coin is going to be next Ethereum?

I heard a lot of people saying Waves could be the next Ethereum.

I'm looking to hold plenty of a coin which could be next Ethereum.
Waves potentially could be a rival and do the things that Ethereum is struggling with, it could be one that nobody is talking about, for example SKY was about years ago and I completely forgot about it but only just found it again recently and it seems to be coming back to life.

I have never heard of some mentioned in this thread for example Xtrabytes and Cardano so really it could be anything, worth looking into everything and make the right choice.
459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin reached $100! on: December 11, 2017, 09:33:51 PM
litecoin used to follow bitcoin when it would rise and fall until recently when bitcoin has gone crazy and skyrocketed in USD value and litecoin was left dwindling just a little bit.

I am very happy to see litecoin getting the recognition it deserves, I think we will see it really do well in the next month or two and possibly just maybe even get up to the $1,000 mark, well that's my hope anyway as tempting as it was to ditch litecoin for bitcoin during this run something stopped me.
460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: will it be in 2018 eth price equal to BCH price? on: December 11, 2017, 05:44:15 PM
what do you think if eth price matches the price of bch? it must be eth can match even exceed bch because eth has been longer in bch appeal, eth first exist in the world crypto.

I definitely think the price of ETH will surpass BCH and come closer to where bitcoin is sitting but not in the near future, we have all heard about the recent Cryptokitties fiasco which bought the ETH network almost to a standstill and this is only the first of a kind project.

If ETH is to reach the stars i needs to be improved and tested, this will take us beyond 2018.
