If somebody put a donation on the tip4commit repo what would happen?

Hopefully new developers would join the project and submit their pull request with new features, bug fixes and other improvements of tip4commit.

Tip4Commit is Open Source now!

See sources at https://github.com/tip4commit/tip4commit

We don't have much experience in maintenance of opensource projects, so we'd be glad to receive any help or advise Smiley
445  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Anonymous Ads v2 - earn ɃɃ with your site OR use ɃɃ to advertise! on: January 13, 2014, 12:33:37 PM
We implemented several new features:

1. List of campaigns that reward for goals

If campaign has goal tracking enabled, it will appear in the list of affiliate programs. Each time advertiser rewards publishers via our API, his or her campaign goes to the top of the list.

Publishers can use this list to find out the most paying advertisers and to refer buyers to them via affiliate links.

2. List of active campaigns

Everybody can see the list of active campaigns sorted by daily budget.

3. Moderation of funded campaigns

Since most of the created ads are never paid, we decided to moderate only ads that have a funded campaign. So please deposit any amount to your advertising campaign if you want your ad to be approved.

Warning for scammers: if we suspect you in malicious advertising attempt, we may decide to ban your ad without refund.

Another, hopefully, quick question... I was looking at the other ad-spaces people have for sale and they have their names listed instead of Ad Unit #XXXXXX,  How does one go about doing that?  I looked on my current ads and tried making a new ad but didn't see an option for that.  Thanks!

I am not quite sure I understand your problem. Could you please provide a link?

Love this tool. Peercoin.net is the most funded project on Tip4Commit. When can we expect additional features? Are you going to open source it?

Thanks for kind words. We recently developed a feature: unclaimed balances get automatically returned to a project within 1 month. What other features do you need?

We haven't yet made a final decision regarding making it opensource.

Also one of my developers is having problems:
"Hmm, my e-mailaddress was not send with my commits from my computer. So tip4commit couldn't see those were mine."
He is listed as Justin van Oel on the project: http://tip4commit.com/projects/222

We linked Justin's commits to his account, please ask him to check his balance.

I think I've been doing this wrong the whole time that I've been using your service.  Grin

I currently have three different ad-units (11498, 11496, and 12682) and none of them really produce much, should I have created these differently?  As a publisher should I have started a "campaign" then made units inside that?  Or are the campaigns, as the name suggests, for Advertisers?

Any clarification on the process would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

No, you are doing it right. There is a high variance in income. According to global stats, during last 30 days the lowest average CPM was ~0.0002 btc and the highest was ~0.001 btc per thousand of unique IPs. Please note that usually there is no much sense in placing several ad units on a single page (only one impression per IP per 24 hours is counted as unique).

I setup a campaign on your system for 51attack.com. However the goal setup is killing my browser when it requires me to select an ad unit.

I would like to setup something like pay per action. If a publisher sends me clicks and someone purchases, then the publisher can get an affiliate payout. Can this be done? My goal page "/checkout/order-received/" let me know.

Thanks for your interest!

Your browser crashed because the list of ad units was too long. We made a temporary fix (instead of selecting ad units from the list you can just type in its id) that should solve your problem. You can use API to automate the process.

Received my first payout from referral of http://pyramidofcoins.com/r/15hV8FxJkc4V6pmDGeWkGBCTM6oW1q8mXe , sent 0.025 to oppose the outdated ad http://bitcoinpyramid.com/ads/80

Hey guys; I've been working on a similar but different pyramid. With the emphasis on transparency & simple rules. Could I link to it here for some early feedback?

Thanks for asking. I think Bitcoin Pyramid members deserve to be among the first people who know about it.

Let's see how the simplified version of rules work. Sign in under my ref: http://pyramidofcoins.com/r/15hV8FxJkc4V6pmDGeWkGBCTM6oW1q8mXe and I will spend up to 1 btc to oppose outdated pyramid ads thus generating some revenue to existing members. According to Earnings Estimator, 27 referrals with depth of 2 are needed  Smiley

Great idea! I added this project to coingiving.com (http://coingiving.com/projects/222-bitcoins-in-space). Donors will automatically be listed as sponsors there (even if they donate less than 1 btc). Hope Jeff doesn't object to such a shameless plug and smaller donations.
453  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Anonymous Ads v2 - earn ɃɃ with your site OR use ɃɃ to advertise! on: December 11, 2013, 07:26:35 PM
The CPM is very low only 0.0002 . maybe you should change the min payout amount from 0.1 to 0.01

Min payout is 0.01. Or even 0.001 if your balance doesn't change for a week. But lowering it is probably still a good idea, thanks.

454  Economy / Web Wallets / Receive Payments API functional? on: December 11, 2013, 04:36:55 AM
Hi!

We use Receive Payments API to generate bitcoin addresses and forward bitcoin donations from them to recipients without touching the money ourselves (see http://coingiving.com/). It worked nicely & instantly, thanks for your service!

But recently one of our users reported that he donated 0.001 btc to 17XRua8j8akFzUoqoe98SfaYy3DhkD34ds and his donation was not forwarded immediately to recipient (16fQZ5zND7jGPxBubWhBvVZiNXjTb5w1zK).

Could you please confirm that the address 17XRua8j8akFzUoqoe98SfaYy3DhkD34ds belongs to blockchain.info and 0.001 btc will be sent to 16fQZ5zND7jGPxBubWhBvVZiNXjTb5w1zK?

Thanks!

Update: the issue has been resolved.
455  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Tip4Commit.com - support opensource projects, contribute and earn bitcoins on: December 10, 2013, 08:07:34 PM
As services go out of service, here is my question how you will handle going out of service? Will you do an instawallet and keep the money for you? Will the maintainers get the money to continue the payouts at their own discretion? Will you get "hacked"? How much is in hot wallets? How much will you cover from your private money? Who are you?

Thanks for important questions. We are the developers of Anonymous Ads.

Frankly speaking I don't know yet how we handle the possible situation of a hack or service shutdown. I can only promise that we won't profit from such situation (though in bitcoin world promises are worthless). We are not bitcoin millionaires and can't guarantee to cover the losses with our private money. So, yes, this is a major risk and a weak point of the project.

This service started as a 48-hour project for Rails Rumble, so (unlike a-ads) all the funds are stored in a blockchain.info wallet. If the service gets traction, we will surely need to change it.

What do you think about the concept of the aging deposit ?
for example
"Everybody for support of presence in the pyramid is required to make a deposit with a frequency of 1 every year"

I am in doubts. This measure would encourage new deposits from early members. But maybe it would be nicer to give incentive for recurring deposits (rather than to extort payments from existing members).

So far I like the idea of recalculating the whole transaction history and converting it to USD (or even to artificial game currency that could inflate ~10%/month vs bitcoin). It would allow members to receive a lifetime ever-decreasing income and it would give them incentive to increase that income by depositing money or by attracting new members. If Bitcoin Pyramid is saturated, there will be a delay in deposits... But at some point new members would get an advantage due to inflation, so they would enter the pyramid and thus recover some of the losses of unfortunate older members and generate profits for fortunate ones.

New feature: advertisers can select countries for their campaigns.

Also we made a couple of minor improvements: a brief explanation in the "Goals" tab and a warning that shows up when AdBlock is enabled.

When I click on an AA ad, the browser show SSL warning (domain "click.a-ads.com" has invalid certificate).
Try yourself: https://click.a-ads.com/11380/1062/

I have the same situation.

Thanks for reporting! Due to a bug in our deployment scripts we had wrong ssl certificates on our servers. It is fixed now. Sorry for inconvenience.

Interesting, I had no idea this was an issue. Best of luck to you, and maybe build a WoT presence meantime.

Thanks. I've read your post about WoT and even got registered there. But not sure how to "build the presence" Smiley
