All my stratum and not pools
(mine-pool.net/qubit/, cpu-pool.net/qubit/, qubit.mine-pool.net/),
work correct with GPU and CPU miners,
all rejected shares is problem of GPU miner.
worker banning disabled.

Before, the diff raised to 8 and it seems ok. Now, all share (or 99.9%) are rejected and the diff never goes higher than 1. I guess something is wrong.

Just check how many block the pool find now and compare to how many blocs were found before your change.
Your pool used to find ~600/700 blocs a day. Now, for the last 24h, 293 at the moment i wrote this. AND you change the wardiff 14hours ago..
I think your pool will find 200 bloc/day against 700/day 2 days ago.

Same thing with your Dime pool

Mining on cpu-pool.net or on mine-pool.net give me only "rejected xxxxxx diff xx/xxx SHARE IS ABOVE TARGET"
Anyone has this issue

Do some research, or look at other coins..
SKEIN, QUARK, KECCAK, QUBIT and GROESTL have GPU support. With those algo, power consumption of GPU are 30% less. And a lot colder too. And with this gpu support, of course, cpu mining is worthless.

If you want an energy efficient coin, change algo to skein/keccak, or even better Qubit or Groestl.

Another scrypt coin is another copy/paste coin. Claiming it's a "green" coin using a power consuming algo is a nonsense

Hard fork / CPU algo asap!

Would people please stop with this "Hard Fork, ASIC Resistant" mantra? This coin is too young and small to deal with a hard fork. It'll work much better if people just shut up and mine... If any coin becomes profitable and popular, 1-2 years later somebody releases an ASIC for it... deal with it.

Is FIVE algos not enough for you to choose from? Thanks.

Maybe you didn't understand, people ask for a fork because those who don't have ASIC or GPU basically can't mine this coin (waste of money to mine it with CPU), so if a coin designated to have multi algo so that EVERYONE can mine (CPU, GPU, FPGA and ASIC) doesn't have one algo specific for CPU is a fail and it needs a fork to fix it.

Funny, because I myself mined ~400 MYR with CPU 2 days ago.

Which coins CAN you mine with a CPU? Not very many, last time I checked Primecoin and Quark are the only ones likely to be worthwhile anyway?  And did somebody ask for those algos to be added to MYR? Not what I saw.

It's my understanding that CPU mining usually works only when a coin is new - somebody quickly hacks up the GPU miner code and the game is over...

We can discuss further if necessary. Thanks

We asked for prime algo to be added some pages ago...
prime numbers algo is only for CPU (like primecoin or RIECOIN) - long time Primecoin is there, and nobody found a way to make a gpu miner. Maybe someday someone will release a gpu miner for that, but if it's not the case today, i think we have some time to enjoy cpu mining.
MMC has a GPU miner

Prime would not be a bad algo, however the code is different and integration might be tough. This dev has already wired together FIVE algo and created a "balanced difficulty" between them - why mess with a good thing?  A hard fork is bad enough, but what if there were imbalances with difficulty when adding another algo?  I like this coin the way it is!

I vote NO on "new algo". In a brotherly way.

If you're really into crypto, pick up a few ATI video cards and roll up your sleeves - CPU mining is a dying art!

I have "a few" ati video cards as well. But many people, like me, also have computer(s) with good cpu to mine.
With the abillity to have a difficulty per algo, this coin is very good.

It has SHA256 for asic, algo for GPU.. Adding CPU only will attract other miners, and the more interest on the coin the better it is.

i like the idea that cpu can mine equally.

With GROESTL algo, my R9 280x do 12.25MH/s
It's quite good.
I also have a HD7850 wich make 5.43MHs. It seem logical, the ratio is respected.
I also have a HD5970, wich make 12.25MHs PER GPU, for a total of 24.5MHs !
I'm happy that an old GPU can mak twice my R9 280x, but maybe there is a way to improve recent cards performances ?

Cpu only algo is definitively a must have
Primecoin is a good choice i guess. Memorycoin already has a gpuminer
I agree 100%, that there should be a 100% CPU algo element - which way to go, I do not know...

As I have written before, I think memory requirements (RAM) should be considered - that would automatically also exclude botnets - if e.g. 1 thread needs 2 GB RAM (or 4 GB?) an average PC becomes unusable, so botnets would not work.

I don't agree.. I have a 3930K with 16GB ram. If it's 2GB per thread, i'll be limited to ~6 thread if i want to continue using my PC. I also have a dual xeon with 32 thread and 32GB memory.. same problem.

Maybe a huge memory allocation (~4 or 8 GB?) for the miner, no matter the number of thread used ?

I don't know nothing about programming, so i might say nonsenses..

I've made more than 20 posts to this thread in a week. I'm not going to respond to every person that asks: "Where's the dev?". If you have something positive to contribute I'm more than happy to respond.

hi dev, stop being inactive spam the thread with a shitload of useless shit so that those coming to get in on a good pump and dump can feel at ease.

Grin anyway, I wanted to ask whether a hardfork for a different cpu algo is planned

It certainly is possible. I have considered the primecoin or memory coin algos, but this is not being planned for the immediate future.

Hello,
I'm mining on YPOOL (no really many choice)
I make 24 Rie/day
Is solo mine worth it for me?

Another question : rminerd announce "expected time to bloc" : xxxxxxxxx
I suppose the time is in seconds ?

and, last, what's the best sieve setting?

It would be worth it for you if the solo miner were as fast as the ypool miner, but for now it is not.

Even with the new rminer 3.1.1?

Can someone please make make a damn stable miner gpu miner ...

1-Does not randomly crash
2-Does not give random refused
3-Does not randmly decrease diff that your hashrate rate would appear like third of it .....since u send share each 4 min
3-Work on both normal pools and p2pool..

doing that will increase both diff and price
Gpu miner works perfectly for me.
No chrashes, no decrease in hashrate. You seems to have another problem that cause a gpu (or more) to be sick
Problem is on the pool side, configured for cpu mining.
P2p and solo mining with gpu works great.

you're mining with scrypt algo, instead of qubit. Don't forget to add "-a qubit" to your commandline

I everyone
I'm trying to solomine with groestl and , and i have a problem.

I have 6 Computers available.
I set up the wallet in server mode, and i choose the right algo etc..

I can connect and mine with 4 computers, it works (found blocks !), but i can't connect more than 4..
No matter wich computer, it's ok up to 4, then the 5th and 6th can't connect

"2014-02-28 13:24:19] HTTP request failed: Operation timed out after 30046 milliseconds with 0 out of -1 bytes received
2014-02-28 13:24:19] json_rpc_call failed, retry after 30 seconds"

I don't know if it's a windows related problem, or wallet problem ?

Does anyone have an idea ?

normal price would be 4x the actual price...

groestl? Q2C doesn't use groestl algo.
I know. Myriadcoin does. now, with gpu miner, i mine Q2C with GPU and wanted to mine myriad with CPU. There is no groestl miner yet.
