The one that goes up the most after you mine it.

The problem is Bitmain's Antminer S9 is already several years old and too inneficient for keeping up with the huge increase in difficulty from when it was released in 2016. Current GPU's are using cutting edge manufacturing and are therefore more efficient in comparison. If Bitmain upgrades their miners to use 10nm and 7nm manufacturing processes this year as rumored it should increase the output considerably.

https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-hardware-manufacturer-bitmain-made-a-profit-of-up-to-4-billion-last-year

Quote
The report went on to predict that Bitmain will further increase its dominance of the mining business this year, noting “Bitmain will likely lead the cryptocurrency asic industry and migrate some of its chips to 10nm and the most advanced 7nm. That will make the company one of the top five users of TSMC’s 7nm in 2018, with demand comparable with Qualcomm’s, HiSilicon’s, or AMD’s.”

Has anyone heard that the 20 series would be made to not support any type of mining?

Sounds like a rumor started by a desperate gamer. Why would Nvidia waste resources doing something so dumb, when they make money selling cards to miners?

One question guys, i am using -ccvdc 870 but it looks like hwinfo shows GPU Core Clock 900mv
Why my gpu volatege set in claymore is not accepted?

HwInfo screenshot

--edit--

OverDrivenTool shows it correct 870mv

Just because you set a voltage doesn't mean the card will accept it if it's out of spec for the card.

When i use version 11.2 instead of 10.6, i lose 1mh/s per card and they also consume less power (7-10W/card)

to me it is not so great:

windows 10, 5 sapphire RX580 8GB pulse - hynix memory, blockchain driver

You're using the wrong driver for RX 570/580's on Windows 10 v1709. The current AMD drivers in compute mode are optimized for Windows 10 v1709 FCU. Those are the fastest drivers to use with RX 570/580 cards. The only reason to use the blockchain drivers on Windows v1709 with RX 570/580's is some old miners like SGminer don't work with the latest drivers.

Guys is there a way to mod a RX580 so it can mine eth ath 2000+ mclock? everytime i go more than 2000 memory speed windows crashes. Is there a way to add another memory strap at 2250?

Sure, with RX 580 Gaming X 8G, Ellesmere, hybrid Hynix/Samsung memory and a simple bios mod:

1:1750 > 1:2000
2:1750 > 2:2000 & 2:2250

Beta Blockchain Driver.

-dcri 44
-cclock 1250
-cvddc 950
-mvddc 925
-mclock 2225

31.25 Mh/s ETH
1.37 Gh/s VXG

The 2000< MHz timings are not Samsung timings they are the secondary memory timings on cards with a dual memory Bios.

I run 13 RX 480/580 cards on the ASRock H110 Pro BTC+ on Windows 10 v 1709 with the latest AMD drivers. The Asus B250 mining expert should have no problem running 13 regular cards in Windows v10 v1709. Here BBT got 21 cards running in Windows 10 with 13 AMD and 8 P106 mining cards.

from 30.2 to 30.5 but we will se if there is less stale shares..

It depends on the memory type. Even with good timings Samsung is hard to overclock over 2050 MHz stable and Hynix/Micron can easily overclock to 2200-2250 MHz depending on the memory straps and ASIC quality. The best you can do is find/buy optimized timings for your memory type.

but samsung can be more undervolt. you can lover voltage more on samsung then other 3

Undervolting the memory has very little effect in power consumption compared to underclocking and undervolting the core. Undervolting also depends more on ASIC quality than anything else.

Nice. With 11.2 I got a 3 MH/s bump on ETH dual mining on a 13 card RX 480/580 rig and 1 MH/s on a 6 card RX 570 rig. Thanks!
452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Grow Tent with 100F air intake? on: March 02, 2018, 03:45:28 PM
As long as you keep replacing the hot air around the GPU's with fresh air it will work. A modified version of this enclosure where you attach a duct to exhaust the hot air outside, so it's not recirculated inside the garage should work best.

@Claymore

Hi,

I am wondering if you have plans to create a miner for RavenCoin (X16r algo). I would very much like to mine this coin but there is no AMD miner yet.
There is $500k Ravencoin bounty to produce a working AMD miner.

Check here https://ravencoin.org/ and here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2752467.0

and this https://cointelegraph.com/news/overstock-ceo-puts-millions-of-dollars-into-unknown-coin-compares-to-bitcoin

Cheers,
Shallowgas

Maybe Wolf0 would be interested. He's worked with X algorithm kernels for SGminer in the past when x11 spin offs were popular.

You need to toggle to compute mode from graphics for each card in AMD settings. That toggles the Dag size fix.

Looks like a DNS issue resolving the pool address. You can try using another DNS server like Google's (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) or connect to the stratum IP address directly.

eth-us-east1.nanopool.org: = IP Address : 142.44.243.6 and 192.99.69.170 and 142.44.242.100 and 144.217.14.139 and 144.217.14.109

https://www.site24x7.com/find-ip-address-of-web-site.html

Vann would you be able to walk me through that , I apologize for my ignorance.

As long as there's Google, no reason to be ignorant.

https://www.techbout.com/change-dns-servers-in-windows-10-22743

You can also replace the stratum address with the IP address in the miner .bat or config file.

Dual mining is still profitable with RX 570/580's. The RX 570/580 uses at most 40 W more dual mining and it's still more profitable than just mining ETH. Currently I'm mining SmartCash and it's an extra $3.84 per month after power for a RX 570 and an extra $7.50 per card for a RX 580.

You're grasping at straws.
I don't call 12.8 cents profit per card per day after electricity cost a profit! Cheesy Especially since that can be wiped out with one notch of difficulty increase...

You're the one grasping at straws. You said dual mining is less profitable than solo mining ETH, which at least for the RX 570/580's is not the case. The way I look at it is dual mining is currently paying almost half of the electrical bill for my mixed RX 570 & 580 rigs, which makes it more profitable than just mining ETH.

According to the PCI-E spec, you need to make sure that the 6/8 pin connectors on the VGA supplemental power of the card come from the same rail on the PSU.
