What makes you think someone asking for the spend code to be open sourced means they want to buy cheap SDC?
Maybe some people just want to know there are no potential vulnerabilities in the code. The SDC dev team seems to be very competent. However smart people can make mistakes.
Look at what happened at blockchain.info this week despite all their coders, good intentions and VC money. Asking for code should not be viewed as FUD or a personal attack.
I understand that SDC may not want others to copy their coin (like others copied their stealth address code) but the 1st will always be the leader. Copycats cannot be prevented. Many have copied BTC and BTC remains the leader. Many have copied the cryptonote code and XMR (first fair launch) and BCN are FAR ahead of all later copycats.
SDC will remain the leader for this version of ZK tech once it is proves, even when/if others copy it. Without going open source, there are huge risks to all SDC holders which some are not willing to accept. This is an important moment for the future direction of SDC
I agree with this, the code should be open source for peer review. It is critical for trust, especially when dealing with systems that protect anonymity. Every coin at this point stands on the shoulders of giants, they all utilize open source code written by programmers who came before them. For the forward progress of cryptocurrency as a public good to continue it must remain open source. I am confused. Is the present ShadowCash release opensource, or not?
We've committed the verification code for exchanges: https://github.com/SDCDev/shadowcoin/tree/anon Its enough to build the daemon, and it will be able to accept and verify anonymous transcations. We've left the spend code out for now, as we wan't to give investors a chance to have something unique. |

Of course the github source is production capable! Hense its current state. Every other exchange is using it and so are every one of my nodes.

The github source has not been pushed to in 28 days, it appeared to us looking through the git commits, the majority of the development was not occuring on the github. Our system requires a somewhat up to date coind API so we can provide proof of reserves. How "up to date" is PPC and Doge? I invested in BTCD at 20-50ksat and invested in early days of DRK at 100-300ksat prices. And look at this projects now. They are not dead and live very well if to be modest. The same thing will happen with Shadow. This is the unique project, someday marketcap of this project will equal DRK's marketcap. Mark my words..
I would consider that result very disappointing. Why not a market cap in the trillions USD, being the primary currency for private and secure transactions by most people in the world? Once all of the features of the coins are in place and working in a manner that is universally trusted, on both desktops and phones, why would anyone prefer to use BTC? Because only small amount of people know about sdc. It's like a dark horse this days. When it will be under the attention of the press and PR company will start working, we will see manifold increase in capitalization and attention of the masses with big investors. |

So here is a question I've been curious about for a long time.
I've seen what feels like hundreds of people now, show up here and in IRC, say hopeful things about the project and also say that they are ready to buy and will soon as ZK is out mainnet after SDC has essentially fully proven itself.
I feel like I have literally seen this sentiment well over a hundred times (likely way more). So my question is what the hell are these people going to do when ZK launches? They do realize there is only 6.5M coins? And that as it would seem the vast majority of them seem to be in very strong hands. So what is going to happen? If you look at the order books there is no supply. I'm sure if we blast through 30k and get up to 50k-70k etc Some people will ROI, or eventually sell off, However I feel the buyers demands will vastly, Vastly outweigh the sellers even at prices several times higher than now.
So my question is, is almost everyone going to miss the boat? There have been plenty of chances to get >20k SD, and even more chances to grab it between 20-30k.
Are most of them going to miss the boat entirely? And be forced to kick themselves in the as forever like I do about my BTC stash before it went above $5.00 ^.^
I'm just generally curious what you think is going to happen.

Any ideas on whats next on the neos feature list?
The roadmap needs some editing I'll pass that onto yak, but at the moment there are a few new key features (undisclosed) I'm back to working on for 2.0.2. skip60, i have a decent value of shadow, but i buy more on the news to move the volume. It is necessary for high activity on the market and helps to stabilize up-trend of the price. With these actions I don't think about my own benefit, I'm thinking about bringing attention to the project as a whole. Because i'm fully devoted to this project.

If anyone wants to help out other people with getting information on this coin I would love to see summarized IRC chat log updates every 1 or 2 weeks. It's a lot of work trying to follow coins.
I had 52,000 NEOS so not a big effect on the market and I didn't dump all at once like that fool who did that on Dec 4th. If you're in this coin long term then I would think you want the price to drop as low as possible so you can buy more before it has a 100x growth. If you can play these little 2x and 3x ups/drops back down properly then you can double your NEOS for FREE! Once NEOS does release something that attracts investors then that free double up is quite valuable.
I never really understand why people that love a coin always want it's price to rise. I would want price to drop so I can buy more when I sell some other coin for a profit or get a pay check.
