For the moment there it looks like AMZN, AAPL, MSFT, GOOG, FB and TSLA will soon consume almost all $$ in existence toward their market caps.
Not sure how to feel about it, but it look like a giant sucking sound toward some kind of financial black hole.
The process, apparently, has nothing to do with fundamentals, just a manifestation of endless liquidity.

How btc fit in there? Not sure yet, but at some point it might become one of these centers of financial "gravity".
In such case, $1tril might happen fast.

Exactly my feelings.
And once the money printer goes slower or stops, just one whale decides it is about time to cash out his seizable positions and *puff* there goes the money into the bespoken black hole. Meanwhile unemployment is skyrocketing all over the world.

One could even argue these assets and BTC as well have not gained in value, it's the fiat that has lost (inflation). That said, I went to the big yellow M after months of lockdown, just to find out that the always same combo of trashcan food now costs ~30 bucks while before lockdown the exact same amount of non-toxic foodwaste was to be had for ~23.

I am sure 2020 will be a hell of a ride and the best is to come yet. But like you I can't really make up my mind what this means for our crypto moneys.

Much floafloafloa* to be expected, so bullish:

Quote from: fxstreet

White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows was out with some comments in the last hour, saying that the US President Donald Trump stands ready to act to provide more stimulus. Trump plans orders on bringing manufacturing back and may sign an order on drug prices, Meadows added further.

The comments did little to influence the USD, which remained under some heavy selling pressure amid the prevalent risk-on environment.

* Whenever I refer to the brrrr meme at home, I am educated by the missus that these printers actually are going more like *floafloafloa* (and that the *brrrr* probably refers to bill counting machines). For the sake of domestic appeasement and the integrity of my personal sex life I'll therefor use the *floafloafloa* acoustic expression to symbolize excessive money printing.

Good for brainstorming but to me it seems "how to lose friend 101" irl.

The friend will always get his money, he doesn't need to know... And you can always stop if you feel uncomfortable.

As long as you’d still give him the rent money, even if the bitcoin price goes down then fuck it, he doesn’t need to know. You could definitely make a bit of spare cash holding the rent money in bitcoin before sending him $150 x 6 after 6 months.

Do it!

In this case he could use his own money to buy Bitchcoin in the first place.

That said, I have been in a similar situation like AlcoHoDL and thought this through more than once. I came to conclude that either I propose this to my friend or otherwise just don't do it as that is not something the verbal and implied agreement between us includes/covers.

Thanks PsychoDad.  Good to see you are still involved.  I took off because I didn't like where the whole TIPS to FED swap was going.  The last thing I remember is, they (FED Team), where supposed to provide a burn address, then nothing from them.

WB cryptoid!
I have asked about the proof of burn several times, last time here:

448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Is it possible to run two bitcoind, in testnet and mainnet at same time? on: June 29, 2020, 09:06:44 PM
I would think you could just start bitcoind a second time with a different conf file and datadir.

How much this affects your synching speed depends a lot on the available resources on your node.

My transactions (and others) just got confirmed, notarizing seems to work again.

Thank you for your efforts.

Next, Knives Out which was released on 2019. It has also a great plot twist that would enable you to really think who is responsible for the murder. It has also an unpredictable flow of the story.

+1, really has some good twists, never gets boring and I had some good laughs from the irony, also great cast and all marvelous in their roles.

Didn't know Game Night and The Invisible Guest but will look for them, ty.

Here are a few more movies I've seen recently:

Hotel Artemis - dystopian thriller with a great cast

Ready or Not - don't watch it if you're going to marry soon  Grin  Seriously one of the better movies I've watched this year, love the role and play of Samara Weaving.

The Hunt - some nice twists and turns, you're not going to know where it is heading until the end, think it was mentioned in the WO thread when it came out.

365days - every minute watching this softporn nonsense was a total waste. I actually only watched it because it has upset our local women rights activists/feminists so much and I wanted to know what the fuss is all about. It's a bit like 50 shades of grey for millennials and even bad at that.

@psycodad

This is being remedied at this time. Hold tight and keep an eye on the tx. We will try to post updates as frequently as possible but also recommend you join our official Discord server at: https://discord.gg/gamecredits

Thanks for taking care.
Right now, after ~2 days the tx's are still unconfirmed, resp. stuck with 1 confirmation.

I was trying to move my GAME to trex in 4 transactions. Funny enough they all got stuck with 1 confirmation after 1 day, though having hundreds of "raw confirmations" (whatever that means):
https://www.gamecredits.network/tx/4159ae21404b42c095ba00fb884886e127e1d15e4de5844ad5530d63dbeb6bd6

While the BE shows >1200 confirmations, trex shows 1/150 and with "listtransactions" I see also 1 confirmation only.

How do I get my coins confirmed as deposit on the exchange before July 1st?

TIA

Edited to add: It seems that GAME's dpow nodes didn't notarize anymore blocks since >24 hours. That comes at a quite inconvenient time..
453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo LTC Image and Support thread on: June 22, 2020, 09:22:05 PM
Are full LTC nodes getting any rewards for validating transactions? maybe a silly question or already answered before. Thanks

No, you don't get any reward for running a LTC full node.
You are validating blocks and their transactions only for the integrity of your local blockchain copy not for anybody else. Though once you are synched people can also download blocks from you.

About the virtual machine discussion, are you using a type 1 hypervisor, or a VM on top of Linux/Unix (using VirtualBox or other) ?

I run two headless computers/servers and each is running a couple of VMs, one has enough power to run everything but I need to decide on the hypervisor. One server is running an OpenSolaris derivative (OpenIndiana), it is recommended to use ESXi with it, but I'm not decided yet, I'd like to try a free (as in free software) option. OpenIndiana/Solaris itself has a virtualization layer built in, but only Solaris is really able to run windows and linux VMs as a type 1 hypervisor, and that isn't free.

I am still running a few server clusters on Proxmox 3.4 (last version w/ OpenVZ support).
The newer version of Proxmox has only support for LXC for containers and I dislike it much compared to OpenVZ. Though if you are going to full-virtualize (KVM), I would totally recommend it.
If you have a common storage to your nodes you can even hot-migrate VMs.
455  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 21, 2020, 10:11:57 AM
Thinking about changing to linux soon. -ish. Before the next windows version, at the latest. Long time e-friend nerd recommended linux mint. Looks user friendly. Anyone using it? Can recommend/not recommend?

If you're planning to go with Linux I'd recommend to stick with the big guys: CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu. They all have decent support, wide choice of GUIs, they're pretty stable and secure. Also less likely to have compatibility issues... in short: avoid exotic distros Cool

<systemd-rant>
And they all got systemd, ready to bite your ass anytime (quicker and harder than Windows ever did).
If you're on Windows 10 you already run a Linux kernel with a Microsoft window manager on top.

I only use Devuan or OpenBSD on new machines, just too many times I needed to reboot when pre-systemd a kill -9 <pid> did the job. Which is one of countless reasons why systemd sucks.

For people not being familiar with the famous works of Lennart Poettering he basically is constantly reinventing (and integrating into the systemd mess) components that had been proven working for decades in Linux world and that didn't need any fixing in the first place (i.e. the fabulous crond is now systemd-timer shit, not even talking about systemd-homed madness).

At least he's got a pwnie award...: https://pwnies.com/archive/2017/winners/#lamestvendor
</systemd-rant>

If you want freedom, security and control over your system, avoid systemd. Otherwise be prepared to adapt your way of working with your computer to how LP envisions you to work with it.

this thread is so active and valuable. The only issue I face is, if I come after a few days, I don't know if anyone mentioned me anywhere.
anyone uses anything which notifies if someone mentions on the forum, like on this thread.

You might want to check LoyceV's mention notification bot:

Otherwise, as nobody mentioned it before, check the Taxi movie series from Luc Besson.

Hehe, you sure nobody mentioned these movies? Smiley Have you checked this post of mine? Smiley

Uhm, ok... I stand corrected, have edited my post and apologize sincerely (while mumbling something about nobody liking smartasses - j/k  Grin).

To my defense, yours is a really loooong post/list and I have joined the thread only way later than that post (which is no excuse for not checking before posting).

Watched Body Cam this weekend not knowing exactly what to expect. Turns out it is disturbingly on-topic for todays situation.

Ok movie, but as said quite disturbing to watch nowadays.

Otherwise, as nobody mentioned it before as GazetaBitcoin already said, check the Taxi movie series from Luc Besson, aged but still great and proper action, fun and entertainment. If you like good comedy and action movies and haven't seen them, I recommend all of them.

EDIT to fix my error regarding GazetaBitcoin's mentioning of  Taxi much earlier  Cheesy

And the fact that your only defense is "lawl" just further reinforces things.

lawl    <--- just for ibian
I hope you die painfully.

thats the difference between you and i. i dont wish harm on you. even if youre an asshole.
You also do not wish to pay the 80% taxes your generation has imposed on me. That's the difference between you and I. I have not imposed anything on you.

Ibian reminds me of Colin Robinson from "What we do in the shadows".
Must have been a great feast for him today.

Imagine how exhausted people in Ibians office look when he leaves in the evening after talking everyone dry during the day about boomer taxes, destroying China and evil social how welfare is.
