441  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Neo EasyCoin Official - Buy BTC With Cash [UK,USA,Russia,Denmark,Sweden,Norway] on: January 14, 2014, 01:08:41 PM
I still think this is the biggest news of the year so far ...

Agreed.

Lmao.

Attention Neo & Bee imbeciles:

First mistake you've made was going with a no-name venue, replicating the error that is still weighing as a millstone around Asicminer's neck. I still don't care whether they choose to fuck their investors over, but meanwhile those investors have started caring.

Second mistake you made was investing yourselves into solving a problem that didn't need solving, and a problem whose solution is way above your resources.

It's a simple point of competition for finite resources. This is not quite as visible in fiat, because in fiat bs gov'ts can create and do create fake money to prop up wasteful/pointless paraeconomic ventures run by the "right people", which is just another way of saying "popular" (which is, of course, the wrong game to play if you aim for prosperity).

In BTC however, where resources are absolutely finite, there will only be so much BTC available for investment at any given time. This BTC will be allocated to the available investments somehow. Part of it will be allocated by idiots, on paraeconomic criteria like "we don't like MPEx". Part of it will be allocated economically. As time goes on the share available to the idiots to allocate as they see fit dwindles, and the share available to the rational players increases. Since human behavior is reinforced by success and (usually, except in the case of a really limited pile of hardcore idiots) discouraged by failure, the flow is even faster as individual people realize they are being part of the idiot group and jump ship.

Soon enough the situation reaches equilibrium, which is pretty much where we're at. In short, the beauty of economy is that it works.

None of this is to mean MPEx is perfect, by any means. That's not the point at all. It just means MPEx is the standard, and because stock exchanges are fundamentally a convergent, naturally standardizing market it also means the accretion trend will continue, exactly in the same way and fundamentally for the same reasons Bitcoin grows against fiat currencies.

It's by now impractical for any serious company contemplating being listed in BTC to forego the significant capital available on MPEx in order to favor a different venue (in fact, the cost of doing so can be calculated on the basis of the volume difference, and is in any case significant) for a variety of reasons, and certainly such an attempt would imply the modification of said company to include "being an exchange", which requires rare and valuable skills (programming notably NOT being one of them) and other human capital. Such an effort necessarily spells a movement away from said corp's core mission, whatever it may be (*).

A willingness to move away from the core mission, a cavalier attitude towards incurring costs and foregoing benefits all work together to paint a very unflattering picture in the eye of the discerning investor (If these people have any confidence in their business, why are they working on moving away from it to do something else? If they have the capital to pursue reinventing the wheel, why do they need my investment? If they're not interested in cashing in now why should I expect they ever will get my shares dividends?) and rapidly the convergence effects become very strong indeed.

And hey, happy one year anniversary, O post!

Third mistake you made was failing to abjectly apologize to MP for being so fucking stupid. So he'd have asked for the head of your CEO on a platter, big fucking deal. You can find CEOs of the same quality as what you've got if you throw a rock out the window.

But by now...stooping to the level of creating forum sock puppets to try and give the impression anyone cares about your braindamaged stuff? I can't rightly conceive how fucking stupid you bunch must be to imagine anyone actually is this dumb.

Oldest shit in the book, yo.

(Yeah, as those keeping score at home are probably inferring by now, this means Neo&Bee has no chance in hell or else I wouldn't have made it public. 'Tis true. Sucks for them, but you can't be part of the cool crowd when you're as dumb as rocks. It's what it is, you can divest now.)
442  Economy / Securities / Re: Cloudhashing ASIC mining contracts, UK LTD company - Now Mining & Paying Bitcoin on: January 14, 2014, 12:24:01 PM
CloudHashing.com offers cloud-based Bitcoin mining contracts to those who don't want to hassle with buying their own gear and dealing with the additional costs of hardware maintenance, electricity costs, maintenance, shipping promises unfulfilled etc.

We had a rather rocky launch, which we've admitted, but as pioneers in a business we've learned from our mistakes and gotten better.  Not sure what else we are supposed to do but learn and grow.  That's what people who start businesses do.

If someone feels they can get a better deal than with us, then by all means go that route.

Our customers want a turnkey solution to get into Bitcoin mining, and that's what we provide, and provide well.

In addition to this, we have been on the forefront of Bitcoin advocacy by trying to make Bitcoin as mainstream and popular through our many radio/TV/print interviews/ads, and we plan to do even more in the future.

We pay out as promised, and we're a stable company that's going to be around for a long time.  We hope that everyone sees the value of Bitcoin go much higher this year.

We think Bitcoin much more than doubles this year.  What do you all think?  Christmas Day 2014, will Bitcoin be at $3,000?  $4,000?  $5,000?

Unless you're some kind of day-trader with short-term goals, everyone's making ROI and then some.

-Michael

A. Get over your fuckwit self. Every two bit nobody (which eminently includes you) thinks themselves "at the forefront of Bitcoin advocacy". The way this was ridiculed two years ago was by calling such derps "Bitcoin Jesuses", in loving memory of Roger Ver, who actually thought this of himself. As he is meanwhile becoming about as relevant to present affairs as Taaki I guess we could perhaps move on. Do you want to be remembered for a coupla years only in terms of "those idiots who thought they mattered for reasons that have nothing to do with reality and everything to do with their very limited perspective" and after that only be mentioned when I feel like pointing out to some latter muppets just how boringly stupid & pointedly ignorant they are?

Cause if you do, you're right on the way to get it.

B. Stop with the Ponzi talk. You are not authorized to make statements about what Bitcoin will be worth in the future. The only person in Bitcoin that may make such statements is MP, and he usually makes them in the negative. The shit you've done right above would perhaps cost you your ass, like it cost MtGox its ass earlier this year. Your saving grace being, of course, that you don't have an ass to lose in the first place.

As a subset of this, what the fuck is your broken mindfuck of a broken mental process, "we can steal some BTC from our suckers just as long as we don't steal more than what BTC appreciates in USD, because then we'll just say 'everyone is making ROI and then some' as if it were a fact"? Wake up and smell the coffee ye ignorant bunch, this is quite obsolete scammer speech.

So now: get over yourselves, stfu more and lurk a lot more. That is what real businessmen do. You're not it.

D.S.R

Your desire to "do something" about scammers in btc is understandable. What you're missing however is that there are methods already in place that allow people to determine whether someone or something is likely a scam, and importantly, these also encourage independent thought, which in turn begets greater skill at identifying scams.

It's crucial for new people to take cues from those established at the top of the pecking order. Trawling yet another user-submitted database of names is of rather arguable utility, and is by far a less rewarding strategy for figuring out what's what. After all, making smart choices isn't about checking whether a name is on a list. You've got to put in the work to reap the benefit.

Start here.
445  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cryptsy: Things are getting better on: January 13, 2014, 10:39:16 PM
Unfortunately I again have some missing deposit issues.

I really hoped Cryptsy got rid of those problems - but it seems they didn't.

Waiting since 2 days now for TAG, ELC, MEC and NET deposits.

Very frustrating (again!).

So how about next time you actually make the effort to document what's happened instead of posturing at me?
446  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How to Invest in Bitcoin Startups on: January 13, 2014, 10:31:13 PM
In a gold rush it’s the people selling pickaxes that get rich and with bitcoins the greatest profits are to be made by companies who solve problems for bitcoin users and add value with bitcoin services.

Seedcoin is a Bitcoin startup incubator that has a basket of 7 very promising bitcoin related startups you can invest in with even small amounts of bitcoins and effectively become part owner of at Havelock Investments. I did and it feels awesome.

That's not "how to invest in bitcoin startups". That's "how to parlay your possession of a measly amount of btc and your unwillingness to think and research into a warm and fuzzy feeling".

447  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Investment idea`s on: January 13, 2014, 10:27:48 PM
I was in there for a while but there is so much to go through and while i have plenty of time i dont want to end up spending hours just trying to get good info for one or two items.

Investing isn't for you, then.
448  Economy / Securities / Re: [Mpex.co] The biggest scam in bitcoin history? on: January 13, 2014, 08:11:17 PM
I don't know anything about this type of investing.

I wouldn't stop there.

When confronted with something new you can pretty much either work to figure it out, or else invent various ill sensations and protestations in a lame attempt to insulate yourself from the reality that you're either too stupid or too lazy to figure it out. My wake is strewn with the penniless visages of those who figured the latter was the right choice.

MP's strategy seems to make it as hard as possible to actually invest.

There are plenty of things out there that'd be harder than having to interact with powerful, properly built tools without protection a few feet thick, y'know. And hard's not such a bad thing in the first place.

449  Economy / Securities / Re: [XXXProfit] IPO - Established, Profitable Business - Pays Every 15 Days w/ Bonus on: January 12, 2014, 03:47:55 PM
Plus, unlike most BTC investments, you don't have to try and make all of your money back in 2-4 months because the high counterparty risk. This is an established business that's been around for a few years and I expect it to be around for at least a few more years, paying dividends as it goes.

This is not a "BTC investment". Shouldn't you be trying to sell hardware "pre-orders" to newborns somewhere?
450  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to invest in Bitcoin Infrastructure? on: January 12, 2014, 03:28:26 PM
I would like to put my money in not just bitcoin but in the companies building the future infrastructure. Is anyone else doing this?
How do I get into this? where should I start? companies?

For the past two years - or as long as it's existed - Bitcoin finance starts and ends at MPEx (or perhaps a broker thereof).

These are the people who publicly and quite painfully humiliated all pretend-financiers, starting with Paul Graham and his ycombinator dronehive all the way to cardboard media personalities a la Keiser and who-have-you in between. They're the people who implemented the destruction of the various scam exchanges that popped up to date, after delivering proper warnings, they're the people who brought down "bankers" and "rating agencies" and all sorts of bullshit.

These are the people who created all functioning vehicles and instruments in this market, the CDO, the BTC option, the BTC future. These are the people who listed the first meaningful Bitcoin company (Satoshi Dice) and these are the people who created the first, and so far in all these years the only honorable delisting of a Bitcoin company of size. These are the people conducting the ROTA experiment, which demonstrated why the speaking public isn't to be involved in decision making, these are the people that created the AN0 accounting standard, and introduced the use of contracts in business and generally speaking did everything, literally and absolutely everything that exists, matters, and is worth the notice.

And of course the guy behind it, my boss, is by far the richest guy in BTC, to say nothing of the smartest. Even with his million BTC+ wealth, the latter probably enjoys the fatter margin.

I suppose all this seems pretty incredible, but that's okay: if you have any BTC at all you can spend it all to find out these points for yourself. And if you don't, all the same, you can spend your time reading up on the history of Bitcoin, for about the same results. In either case...good luck.

455  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Which of these ideas may turn a profit six months from now? on: January 11, 2014, 10:32:52 PM
None, inasmuch as what'd matter would be the specific idea and your specific ability to plan and carry it out well. And since it apparently hasn't sunk in much around these parts, still, somehow: a website is not an idea. Nor is it a business.

Have a read.
456  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ANN: Freesociety.com will sell land for bitcoins in a government-free zone on: January 11, 2014, 10:14:50 PM
We have been talking to several governments

We will announce the third party escrow/arbitrator shortly.

We have started up discussions with several governments.

We are currently discussing with several prominent people in this area.

So we are considering building the basic rules of society into the land contract. We will disclose more on this topic later.

We don’t know yet.

We are a group of free thinkers. In the future we might come forward with our identities.

Total lol. It's nice to see an attempt at a signed message (even if you entirely miss the point of why an actual GPG signature would have had a shot at being valuable here), but it'd be nicer if the message actually had some content. Get over yourself and propose something specific if that's what you're after. The world in general and bitcoin in particular are all stocked up on vague allusions to anticipated greatness.

As for the "sales", see here.
457  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BitBet Stole ~$7,000 from me (10 BTC) on: January 10, 2014, 06:31:09 PM
Ok, thanks for the feedback but my point wasn't so much that this would be cheating or wrong in some way.

However this was just to support the point that "...the bet in question isn't much of a bet. "
If this individual is hedging both sides of the bet then that is substantially different to walking up and putting down $472k (MtGox rate at the 7th) on the toss of a coin.
That is of course ignoring that this is definitely not 50/50 odds.

You should stick around, a point has to eventually find you and in the meanwhile you're entertaining.

459  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Use Crypto Currency for eBay style Auctions at CryptoAlley.com on: January 10, 2014, 02:21:54 PM
This is a brand new site being released to the public today.  We have familiar eBay type formats for selling your items using both Digital Currency or standard PayPal.  It's taken a lot of work with Coinpayments.net to make this happen and as far as is known this is the first auction site that offers sellers the ability to sell their items and accept payment in the crypto of their choice.  It is taking digital currency and putting it into the realm of real business in a real world setting.

For those selling, you have the option of a standard auction, Buy It Now, Make Offer, or any combination of those.  If you are looking to obtain a service or goods at a good price or have one to offer, there are Reverse auctions that can be used.

Billing to the sellers is done on a 30 day basis which means you can start selling today.  Fees which are very small and just enough to run the site can be viewed here.  Sorry, but some of the fees are in place to keep areas from being over run.  They are Main Page Featured - $0.10, Category Featured - $0.10, Digital Download - $0.20, and End Of Auction - $0.25 regardless of the sale price of the item.  Again these are there to keep certain areas from being over run.

All fees though except End Of Auctions are suspended till Jan. 18 2014

As the site grows, so will the features and options available. For now it is a place to have some fun with this new thing called CryptoCommerce.  It's a place where everyone can participate in both the buying and selling of goods with digital currency as the means of payment.

There are a couple auctions at the site now that use LTCT testnet.  In both the auctions and the Help section are guides to LTCT Testnet to get a feel for how this works. You can use it as sellers to test anything you want.

Visit the site, sign up using a secure ssl connection and browse around. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at admin@cryptoalley.com about the site and with help at Coinpayments.net you can use their contact form.

BTW, if you happen to see us on Coinpayments.net list of stores, ignore the LTC only that is there.  You the sellers decide what you will accept. I'm working

Updates and new features will be posted at CryptoAlley.com in the news section and all members will be informed by newsletter.  First 2 projects are conversion chart and downloadable bulk lister similar to eBay's Turbo Lister.

Current Site News-This will be updated when we announce developments on the site

Welcome to CryptoAlley

Welcome to CryptoAlley. We are pleased and excited to bring you the first ever site where the casual to full time users can buy and sell almost anything from everyday items to hard to find or rare items. The process uses familiar types of sales venues such as Auction, Buy It Now, Make Offer, and Reverse Auction.

For the sellers, the listing process is something that both new sellers as well as the seasoned seller will find intuitive and easy to navigate. Listings can be done immediately when you have completed the fill in the blank listing process or saved as a draft for listing in the future. The choice is yours. We are currently working on CryptoLister, a bulk listing application for Windows desktop that will give you full control of your listings.

The only difference to the selling process, as a seller you will choose what digital currency you will accept for your listing. There are currently 32 digital currencies supported along with LTCT(Litecoin Testnet) and a Paypal passthrough feature, with more digital currencies being added on a regular basis.

For the bidders/buyers, it's as simple as placing your bid on an item and if you win the auction, just follow the simple instructions for checkout using the digital currency payment gateway and your item will be on its way. No need to sign up for an account to make your payments, copy and paste the payment address into your digital wallet, enter the amount, and click send. That's it. Once your payment has the required confirmations in the chain, you will be notified in your CryptoVault under Won Items. Sellers are notified they have been paid in their CryptoVault by checking Sold Items and have your item quickly on its way to you.

This is the exciting world of CryptoCommerce for everyone and by registering for an account now, you can be one of the first to experience this new world. Register now and start selling your items. Register now and start using the digital currency you have to get something you want.

About Our Fees

To kick things off, all fees are waived for the first 30 days, till Feb. 6, 2014 except the End of auctin fee which is only $0.10 USD, regardless of the sale amount up to 100,000,000 CFCU(Cryptographic-Fiat Currency Units). You are free to use as many or as few features as you want.

Register Now and start selling your items today. New items are added daily and new sellers have the benefit of reduced competition for their items. Spread the word and begin selling and buying at CryptoAlley today.

Buyer/Seller Dispute Resolution Added

Everyone tries their best to make sure that transactions go as planned, that's what it's all about. However at times, things do not transpire smoothly and differences between the buyer and seller must be mediated. For that we have put in place a Dispute Resolution system that allows the buyer and seller to work out their differences. A moderator from the site will make a final determination once the buyer and seller present all the facts surrounding the transaction.

Having many years experience with eBay as both a seller and sometimes buyer, there are features that are important to the online marketplace experience and we are making those features available as quickly as possible. Next is Feedback importation for the sellers so buyers know they are dealing with top rated vendors.

See here.
