441  Bitcoin / Hardware / 2-3 weeks to go until the first unboxing of a BFL ASIC?? MAYBE? on: October 25, 2012, 09:41:05 PM
Things are getting rather exciting  Grin

I bet you are looking forward to holding that parcel with your Jalapeņo or single "sc" in it..

So what's the latest on the hardware shipping dates? Will BFL make it happen this time, or is it all gonna be delayed to next year??

Thanks dude, thats the info I was looking for.. I just need to get on there to buy and sell some BTC..

Thank you very much..

same thing with me as well - im pretty tech proficient, but the lack of register and contact options are surely perplexing.

It sounds as though you believe the trading happens on the website itself. It does not. The website only serves an informational purpose. Once you learn IRC in general, the rest should be relatively straightforward to figure out.
443  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is ASIC's a SCAM? on: October 19, 2012, 08:04:36 PM

Because you can make more money selling the equipment for a profit. And its riskier to mine than sell the equipment..

Yeah it "will" but it hasn't yet.

Right now that 30,000 rig will take 50 days to pay off.
Why the fuck would you sell something that will make you $30,000 in 50 days, and cut off your own profit? Say they're not being dicks, and they're making a decent margin, they're paying $20,000 for the rig that's $30,000 thats $10,000 profit.

I feel like I have to respond before something thinks what he wrote is true. The 30,000 rig will take much more than 50 days to payoff unless you are the only person in the world with the equipment. The difficulty changes every 2016 blocks, so within a few days of the first batch being received difficulty will rise by a factor of 4 (the maximum it can change, see the wiki article on "target") and will continue until it reaches steady state. your 50 days has now become 200 days a few days after receiving your rig, and will probably settle at somewhere around a year or more in the end.

Stating that BLF wont be "the only personcompany in the world to have them"?

Edit:

I'm just saying, why wouldn't a company use this, make a shit load of cash, forcing the blocks to be harder, in turn forcing people to buy their products?

450  Other / Off-topic / Re: The function of religion ? on: October 17, 2012, 08:58:21 PM
Look, the way I see it,, we all have our individual opinions and thoughts. No matter how right we may think we are this does not mean we must alienate others, if we do we are only alienating ourselves. Whats important is that we listen to eachother and respect eachother, and that we have a healthy outlook on life that helps us emotionally and physically.

We are all part of a big family and we care for one another, I think this is one of the main reasons we get so upset. Because we think we are trying to help as we know better but the person opposite us doesnt change their opinions so we get upset because we think these opinions are bad.
Maybe they are not so bad, maybe we could also learn from these views and find a middle path. Science can help, spirituality can also help. Ultimately they serve the same cause and that's us. We are the ones who are important, us people, our big family. Believe in us, let this be your religion and let is serve the purpose of love. Open your hearts and minds to one another..
451  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Which is the best pool to join with your ASIC? on: October 17, 2012, 08:45:49 PM
valve time sounds alot like the place I come from...

According to BFL, shipping will begin in 2-3 weeks.. People need to be ready to milk those asics

So it looks like not many pools are ready for ASICS?

The ones that are will leave the rest behind..
if ASIC are getting delivered tomorrow, yes.
BUT as ASIC will not be here until December sometime (at earliest)... plenty of time Smiley
Personally I think this thread is rather premature.

That's in "BFL Time".  Add 6 months for the first batch.  Then assume 4-6 weeks delivery is 4-6 months for the first year.

456  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Soon comes the ASIC onslaught, what about the aftermath.. on: October 15, 2012, 06:29:39 PM
Thanx bobitza

Yes, I concur.

There are 5000 actual confirmed orders apparently!!!

Also BFL claims they can manufacture 300 per 8 working hrs, so yeah, everyone will pretty much get their order soon after the other.

Where'd you hear this?

In BFL forums, can't remember exactly where but BFL_Josh mentioned that when the machines are installed and operational, they can crank up 300 devices per day.

I remember bfl staff mentioning the pre order number around 5000, but I cant remember where exact.

now u just round up the price per unit. Id say 70% Jalapeno 28% single and 2% rigs.. about that I recon

so 3500 x 149 + 1400 x 1299 + 100 x 29899 = 5,330,000.00 usd cha ching... beats mining Wink

I tried doing it that way and everyone reminded me that landing on the checkout page generated an incrementing order number and a gigantic portion of them were never followed through on.  People just wanted a shipping quote something, I dunno.  So if you're order number 5000 (they also claimed 7000 btw) then 50% of the other orders may not be legit.  I do know they claimed quite a while ago to get $250,000 in pre-orders though.

Also, as for manufacturing speed, they change their mind a lot but said to the effect of they're not even shipping out products until they can fill a significant enough portion of their pre-orders.  I think their own rules mathematically add up to like 85%-ish of the pre-orders.  So yeah, everyone's getting theirs at once.
458  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Soon comes the ASIC onslaught, what about the aftermath.. on: October 15, 2012, 05:41:13 PM
I've seen a number in the range of 10 mil

Well, if you just go by BFL documented preorders alone, you get:

Jalapeno SC - 222 x $149 = $33078
Single SC - 239 x $1299 =  $310461
Mini Rig SC - 22 x $29899 = $657778
Total: $1,001,317

So that's a bit off from the $500,000 you pointed out Desolator Tongue

Bit off topic, but how much money/ how many Ths do they have to sell to make a return on their investment?
