UAE vs Afghanistan 2nd Twenty20 match won by UAE in a big way. Their batting and bowling performance was excellent as they beat a strong team like Afghanistan in no time. UAE batsmen Aryan Lakra and Muhammad Waseem have batted brilliantly due to which the two have formed a great partnership. Moreover, UAE scored 166 runs for the loss of 7 wickets, while Afghanistan were bowled out for 155 runs to meet the target set by UAE. Due to this poor batting performance by Afghanistan, UAE secured a remarkable win by 11 runs and they are currently tied 1-1 for the T20 series with both teams winning once. Last day of 2023, and it ended with a victory of an associate nation over a full member nation (although I usually don't consider the United Arab Emirates as one of the associate nations, due to their lack of native players). Overall this year was quite good for the associates. Netherlands did well in the ODI world cup, Nepal did well in Asia Cup, and then Namibia also had a great series against Zimbabwe. And this year witnessed the emergence of several promising associate nations with native players, such as Indonesia and Uganda. I didn't think UAE would win a single match against Afghanistan. They performed well and defeated the Afghanistan team by 11 runs. There is no doubt that the UAE team is improving. However, there are no native players of UAE in the squad. UAE management should find native players. This season we are seeing several new teams doing well. Nepal is playing very well. But I am surprised that countries like USA and Japan are showing some interest in cricket. If these developed countries are interested in cricket, the spread of cricket will be faster. |

I really did not expected Ancelotti to have something that would keep him there for a long time. I honestly expected him to go to Brazil at the end of the season, the fact that he is staying until 2026 is a big deal.
This also means that he is going to be able to play with the team that he basically built, obviously most of the players there were there before him, but a lot of them did gained a lot of time when he was there, mainly the young players. Was Rodrygo good before him? Of course, but not played this much, and plenty of other midfielders too. All in all I am expecting them to do very well under his management, they have done great so far and I think it's quite expectable that they will do very well until 2026 with him too.
