Out of context but please go on...   Kiss

Keep trying to hide the truth. You are doing a marvellous job.

So you are thruth's champion, eh?  Cheesy

I trully misunderstood your motives!  Cheesy

Ok, I'm leaving this thread alone...

Nonsense in the Steem whitepaper:

The Problem With Fees

The solution adopted by most blockchains thus far is to charge a minimum transaction fee. A fee worth just a few cents is enough to make attacking the network expensive and unprofitable. While this approach solves the spam problem, it introduces new problems. Imagine solving the email spam problem by introducing a small fee on every email; people wouldn’t use email.

Email isn't a monetary transaction. Therefor a fee on a non-monetary transaction would of course introduce an extra hassle. But a small fee taken automatically from a monetary transaction is not analogous to the email example.

Out of context but please go on...   Kiss

Stop posting...

Lol, you bagholders have your SP locked up for 2 years and the price is declining. And so you want me to stop posting the truth. Brouhaha.

I warned you.

The great iamnotback after trying to bury my last post of this page in the previous one, now is resorting to out of context techniques?  Shocked

Nevermind, it's obvious you are in a difficult possition, you still didn't answer my post, no wonder you tried to bury it in the previus page, but I will agree that STEEM rising too fast too soon might not be that good afterall, so I will leave you to your "work", you might be offering a good service for the long term survivability of STEEM after all.

I was about to tell you that its time for you to go and do a litle more "research" before you continue to post more BS like this, but that would be wrong because you are well informed, the problem is that you intentionally play it dump, why?

What part of user testing by not introducing my own knowledge do you, Dan, Ned and the rest of the boyz not understand about how to build great user interfaces.

This has nothing to do with "great user intefaces" it has to do only with your suspicius behaviour.

You've obviously never worked in a commercial software development company for average user facing applications and websites. I have. I have created million user products for the average folks. You apparently don't know that every major social network runs tests with average users so they can find the rough spots in their user interfaces.

I like how authoritative(and wrong) your assumptions are but for another time you are trying to dodge here.

Admit it when you are wrong:

Stop posting nonsense, and irrelevant links and info, I made it red bold for you in case your eye vision is not that good. You are cornered and you are spending time with nonsense until everyone forgets about your bs. Btw it was about time that dwgscale11 guy to show up, did you call for reinforcements? is he part of the 1000 people/connections you have and supposedly would sybil attack STEEM?

It would be more efficient for you and everyone else in the forum if you opened a moderated thread and expressed your concerns and criticism there in a valid way, that's what I would expect from a supposed "smart" guy like you to do, but instead, you choose to run around every stupid trollish thread like a panicked headless chicken, messing your posts with every other crap. The art of proper FUDing and Trolling I guess... Master!

^^^ You religiously avoid to to give an explanation to your... "behaviour"
448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steemit how can this thing be workable long term? on: July 15, 2016, 06:15:52 PM
Steemit's white paper explains the design intentionally tricks users into doing more work than they will be paid for:

Steem weighs payouts proportional to n2 (n squared) the amount of Steem Power voting for a post.

The impact of this voting and payout distribution is to offer large bounties for good content while still rewarding smaller players for their long-tail contribution.

The economic effect of this is similar to a lottery where people over-estimate their probability of getting votes and thus do more work than the expected value of their reward and thereby maximize the total amount of work performed in service of the community. The fact that everyone “wins something” plays on the same psychology that casinos use to keep people gambling. In other words, small rewards help reinforce the idea that it is possible to earn bigger rewards.

Let's build a social (i.e. "feel good") network by abusing our users. Yeah that is a great idea! @dantheman you are the man Dan. Brilliant ideas! I dare say you must be a genius.

Brilliant minds congregate together:

The guy on the right is the lead developer of Storj. You can review his brilliant design in a discussion he and I had recently.

The seated guy on the left is the one Bruce Wanker talks about.

more nonsense...

Cheesy

This has nothing to do with "great user intefaces" it has to do only with your suspicius behaviour. Below is only one example..

Tonight her sister signed up, but instead of the promised $10, she only received 5 SP (Steem Power) with an estimated value of "$3.85".

Lol

You are complaining because instead of $10 she "only" recieved 5 SP x $3.85 = $19.25?

The user interface said the estimate value was $3.85. Thanks for documenting how horrible the user interface is that it doesn't even make it clear that the "estimate value" displayed is per Steam Power unit and not the total balance.

As if a woman is going to multiply the $3.85 by the number of Steam Power units. As I said, this site is not designed for the average person.

There was no way I was going to go look up the value of Steem tokens nor put any effort into translating the user interface for the ladies. I was testing it as if they would not have my assistance.

Remember the golden rule that user interface misunderstandings are always your problem, not the users'.

I don't believe that multiplication was hard for you to do, was it? but instead you choose to post nonsense.

When "smart" people like you play it dump...  well... this is really entertaining!

So... Let me get this straight. When I mine SP and power it down, then i will be able to get steem coins that can be sent to exchange?

Yes but powering down takes lot of time

Question regarding the hack. On the following article:

https://steemit.com/steemit/@steemit3/first-update-to-july-14-security-announcement-from-steemit-ceo-ned-scott

Ned mentions that we can log in using our reddit accounts. Here is what he says:

Quote
Within the next 48 hours, Steemit will begin to allow all newly secured accounts to reset their passwords simply by logging in with the same Facebook or Reddit credentials that were used to register in the first place. This easy process will work for the vast majority of the potentially compromised accounts. All of these account holders will regain full access to their funds and their original account name.

I'm probably being completely dense but HOW are we to do this?

I tried putting in my reddit password into the login but it didn't work (because my reddit password has less than 16 chars). I went to the create account link, linked to reddit, and gave steemit permission to access my reddit - but all it said was "you already have an account" - which I knew anyway - it wouldn't let me get any further, just linked to the login page which didn't work with either my steemit password or my reddit password - the question is HOW do we use reddit to access our compromised accounts and secure them?

Can someone explain?

P.S. I am @alyssas on steemit

If you created a steemit account with reddit or facebook, at some point you were asked to create a long 16char password, I think thats the password you need to enter [EDIT] Maybe I'm wrong and you need to wait some more time, 48 hours haven't passed yet
456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steemit how can this thing be workable long term? on: July 15, 2016, 03:03:11 AM
But that means that every week 1% of the SP is liquid for selling. If no one is converting to SP, then eventually it will all become STEEM which is debased 100% per annum and the curation will be dominated by the few remaining with SP.

It also appears to be a constant selling pressure juxtaposed against any speculation demand for STEEM. Analogous to miners divest BTC.

I see your point that the amount of STEEM available is only 10% of marketcap right now. So that can be another factor for price moving up so much.

Dan planned out the math of this pyramid scheme well. It is a front loaded pump with a long-tail die off.

What IF....  10% os STEEM continues to be liquid?
What IF.... almost 100% of STEEM is POWERED UP?
What IF.... some IF's help us more in our FUDing attemps than others?

What IF... You are making too many mistakes?(you are obviously in hurry here)
What IF.... you are here just fuding and talking BS most of the time?
What IF.... FUDing pays much more than actually coding? (the suposedly next gen, revolutionary crypto that solves "all the problems")*cough* *cough*
What IF.... you have no intention at all to do anything else than FUD every crypto under the sun and you are just bullshiting us about "your solution"?

I'm just thinking out loudly...
Something is really fishy here about you dude...

458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steemit how can this thing be workable long term? on: July 14, 2016, 08:41:57 PM
Prove me wrong then , why do people buy steem other than to speculate?

To get more sway and profit in content curation, genius.
No one cares about voting power, all they care about is increasing their steem stash which is speculation.

Albert11 - I think you are wasting your time using reason and logic with these guys to be honest. Fair play to you for sticking at it though.

Steemit has a lot of 'early adopters' who's posts consist mostly of talking about how great Steemit is, how much they have made and how people should get into it by buying Steem/Steem Power, thereby boosting the 'value' of what the early adopters have already invested - be that Bitcoin or time, which kind of seems a bit like a Pyramid shaped return on investment model to me ;-)

"Reason" and "logic" like saying that bitcoin is deflationary!  Cheesy Cheesy
459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Steemit.com: Blogging is the new Mining on: July 14, 2016, 01:18:02 PM
Is there a ratio between Steem and Steem power ? Steem power seems to be 1.5 per $ according to the estimated value from random wallets on Steemit. Whereas Steem is above 4.2$. Or is the evaluation system out of date ?

The estimated value in $ shown in your wallet is the weekly average and not the current price

If you use the GUI(steemit) the ratio is 1:1
