441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN]Concept for Charitycoin! 50% of mining revenue goes to charity. on: June 19, 2013, 07:33:23 PM
you can prove to me that money will actually go to charities.

That's the hard part, they're aren't any charities which even know about this.
Since you are an independent entity, you should be the "main" address, the one from which charities receive money.
(Like how devtome is the devcoin "main" entity)
In the beginning, you will distribute the coins but eventually charities will get the client and their addresses can be embedded "inside" the coin so that when it is mined the coins are sent directly.

Obviously the coins will not got directly to a charity... rather you need to convert them into currencies they can spend.

In short, the dev. of this coin needs to be a trusted party.

The addresses that are in the client tend to be static.  One would have to allocate address to perhaps to the charities involved.

Perhaps one need go back to the drawing board and figure a way for charities to accept BTC or LTC.

Would you like to be part of the dev?
If you are not a web developer, graphic designer, etc. you can be one of the trusted members.

I can certiaily implement the coin...  we need to discuss the key features:

(1) All donations need to come from known sources?

you need to do some research as to what is allowed... you also need to register a non-profit org.

the way I see it... coin gets exchanged to USD... and then you show proof that you donated to charity X.
442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why 1000 alternative coins?? learn from Linux project on: June 19, 2013, 07:29:10 PM
Hi,

Why every 5 minutes we see two new coins... We have to learn from Linux project ... 100 distribution but only one or two are working well...

So think before to develop a new shit coins... x coins, y coins.... to not said other name...

I think we have to support  max 5 coins and leave those stupid coins go away...

Thanks

One word:  Innovation, Linux has done excellent in this regard.  All the distris draw on and help the community as a whole...   There is no difference in benefit to bitcoin.  Only greed would argue otherwise...

There are some very specialized distributions of Linux.... those will survive with the big players like Red Hat and Ubuntu.

I can donate the source code and explorer to this project (from ZenithCoin) if you can prove to me that money will actually go to charities.

In short, I will provide a new genesis block.  All you need is to give me the parameters, like:

Block Rate
Max Number of Coins
Rewards
PoW Algorithm

etc...  coin can be built and ready in an hour or so.

445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most promising alt-coin other than Bitcoin on: June 19, 2013, 07:04:01 PM
-More protection against sociopathic 51% dick-swinging.

What this means is that any miner needs a license and can be revoked at anytime.

Or, a miner applies for a miners license that defines how much he can mine and get exhausted once limit is reached.  Kind of those garment quotas that existed years ago.
446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ZenithCoin (ZTC) Giveaway Thread! on: June 19, 2013, 07:01:10 PM
Still lots of newly minted ZTC to giveaway.

Download the client.

Get an address.

Post your address.

Also, you can use the client to mine.  Difficulty is quite low that CPUs should work out fine.

So post your address to get free ZTC!
447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Terracoin, is it dead? on: June 19, 2013, 03:31:24 PM
Terracoin seems to have fallen off of planet Earth, the price has collapsed and the Terracointalk forums are a ghost town. Has this coin been abandoned and is there any hope for it to make a rebound? I noticed there was some talk of developers taking it over but just wanted to know if anyone on here knew anything.

So, something that applies to almost every single altcoin..
This is correct.  There is only room for so many alt coins while cryptocurrencies enjoy a certain level of popularity.  Most alt coins are just an attempt at a cash grab anyways.  As the popularity of cryptocurrencies drop after the April craze near worthless alt coin values will also drop along with it.

Just my opinion.  Only increased demand in any one alt coin can bring the price back up.

No, Terracoin had real structural problems. It was not a case of simple 'lost interest' there were some real problems with the basic design. I won't say its dead- it trades, people mine it, and it can still have a bright future now that things are fixed.
If the original developers cannot find any value in maintaining the current block chain, then it is good as toast.

It ultimately boils down to the incentives for developers.   The cain either stick with the old coin (assuming they still have a boat load of coins) or create a new coin where they can pre-mine the same amount.  Who knows with all these coins out there with anonymous developers.
448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Terracoin, is it dead? on: June 19, 2013, 03:19:39 PM
Only curious because I have lost about half my BTC stash with TRC. Wondering whether to just take my losses or hold long term.

Take your loses and buy ZenithCoin.  The only coin that has good long term prospects. ;-)

Still lots of newly mined coins that I plan on giving away.

Post your ZTC address and get some!
451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: List of all cryptocoins on: June 18, 2013, 05:26:45 PM
Any chance ZenithCoin (ZTC) gets listed?

In has been out for a week now... FTC got listed in an exchange in the same period!

Block explorer is here:  http://explore.zenithcoin.com  unlike most other coins, ZTC hosts and runs its own blockexplorer.

Are all other blockchains of Zenithcoin dead?
Did you changed port or handshake?
Are they fighting or coexist?

Are all other blockchains of Zenithcoin dead?
-> I got no idea if those blockchains still exist.   two guys claim it does, but they must trade amonst themselves.

Did you changed port or handshake?
-> Geneisis block is different, protocol is different and ports are different.  Completely incompatible.

Are they fighting or coexist?
->  Like I said, I have no clue what these 2 guys are up to,  all I do know is the official ZTC coin started mining on 6/09/2013 and has been fine ever since. Check the block explorer.    These other guys... they just have some old source code they got compiled.  No block explorer, no services, no pool,  really nothing.   Just a bunch of newbies who didn't understand what test coins were.

Hi

Just to inform you I have added Zenithcoin to my escrow services and I can now perform trades between users. Whether you are buying items, digital services or wish to swap to other cryptocurrencies you can now.

I charge a rate of 3% for standard transactions but this can be lowered for exceptionally high amounts or volume discounts.

Please visit www.KoolioEscrow.com to carry a trade out!

Please note if you wish me to add a manual orderbook if your coin has no exchange presence this can be done, but rates would be 5% or a sizeable donation from devs in return for a lower % fee for all trades.

Please PM or contact me through my site as I may miss replies on forum threads....

Thanks

Koolio

Thanks for your addition of ZTC to your escrow service.

Miners now have an safe option to exchange their ZTC for other alternate coins or goods.

456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] ZENITHCOIN (ZTC) by Invitation Only Early Mining on: June 17, 2013, 11:31:38 PM
Respect for conversation! That is the right way! However I am not returning to the pool.. Because I dont buy the excuse of bad luck. If I recall my 2400khs was the largest hashrate at the moment of mining, on low diff, and the peak payment was 0.1, thats like I mined with 200khs or something..
I am not whitdrawing my 2 coins and I hope it is used for dev pool purposes!
I appologize for calling you a scamer, obviously you just have problems with a pool. Hope you get better and attract hashrate to your pool..
Best regards!

It was just bad luck.  Another miner 'steve' in mcxnow was mining at 8GHs, this raised difficulty from the teens to .73.  You can see it all in the block explorer:  http://explore.zenithcoin.com

Best of luck next time.

"Transaction comments are currently limited to 140 characters. "

Definitely more innovative than FTC or CHN.  Congratulations!

Excellent choice on the number of characters 140... same as twitter!

Lots of potential uses.

I may just consider adding this feature to ZenithCoin.

ZenithCoin v1, v2 or v3? With the 50% premine? Or the one without?

The official version of course... www.zenithcoin.com ...  thank you for the shout out!

ZenithCoin wil be re-re-re-relaunched in 18 hours from now!

Stop sending false messages.

ZenithCoin progress can be seen in the block chain explorer:  http://explore.zenithcoin.com

Been running smoothly since 6/10/2013.

Is that the blockchain explorer for ZenithCoin v1, v2 or v3?
I'm still mining v1, it's healthy and the client doesn't have the 50% premine built in anymore Smiley

Block Explorer for the official version.  Downloadable from the official site www.zenithcoin.com.

Let me guess, you are mining on the alpha copy?  well time to upgrade!
