Hello everyone,

the last day were very troublesome here on the forums, avalon announced their refunds, bitfury delievered first devices, other sellers reduced Hardware prices a lot!

All of this reasons and the fear of not reaching ROI soon, made people to refund all their avalon chips.

Lately also I think it's probably the best thing to do.

Unfortunatly the decitition was taken out of our hands, I was on vacation the last days with no internet access and during that time more then the half of all chip buyers from group buys were we participate decided to refund the chips (bizwoo and sebastianju).

So this means that this project will be canceled and I will refund all remaining Funds back to you. We decided not to charge anything from the already purchased hardware like Fans, cables and a server from you.

But we have to pay groupbuy fees and escrow fees from groubbuys, which means that we can  only Refund about 95% of your investment in BTC to your payout adresses as soon as we have got the refunds.

I'am very sorry that we can not do a 100% refund and this venture was a loss for you guys Sad

I hope for your understanding.

EDIT: I will send this also everyone as PM now

So Foofighter did you read my post? Have you tried them with an adjacent board and not just standalone?

Hi,

not tested so far, had no time, just came back from vacation.

Hey guys,

also received my boards.

4 Hboards, last time i checked they were hashing at about 87-92,5GH, unfortunatly i had no time to meassure power usage.

Installation was really like plug and play like the others have already stated.

Here are pics mounted inside my designed custom housing(please note this is Rev.A case)
Current design will be changed in many aspects, boards will be turned by 180°, PSU will be on other side, will be stackable and so on - but for first proto there was no more time to implement changes, because the rev2 mboard change came just too fast to react.

After mounting these I learned a lot for further case design and necessary production changes, please note that the mounting brackets of each hboard are not attached in this pics, had no more screws at hand at mounting location.
Also mounting holes and stuff fits really nicely and we can continue production of these now.

It looks like punin is not shipping a cable to extend the raspberry pi to a different location. Will it still be possible to use your case?

Hi,

thanks for the info.

I forgot to mention that, but I changed things a bit so a direct mounting of the Rasperry to mboard is possible.

I will test every case before shipping, so everything will fit fine!

Hey guys,

Unfortunatly I can not delivery the cases by this week, the manufacturer sent the cases a bit late and I will probably get them tomorrow evening or on Thursday. But I will be on vacation from 29-1 Sept.Sad

All parts for assembly are prepared now and at hand besides of the RJ45 connector. Worst case is, if i didnt get it until next week i have to ship without it.

This means, estimated shipping will be, beginning to mid of next week (week 36).

Currently 3 cases are left for sale.

Meanwhile i added some more pics here:

454  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [AUCTION] - GROUP BUY of BITFURY Chips + DRILLBIT SYSTEM mining assembly on: August 27, 2013, 09:31:46 AM
Thanks guys for your kind words. It has been a mega effort getting everything together, and it is exciting seeing it coming to fruition. We are at the stage now where this will definitely go ahead. That is exciting. As we're all aware, the biggest possible stumbling block here is when we get the chips, so basically we just all need to send out positive vibes to the bitcoin mining gods that Bitfury does actually deliver when promised. At this stage, there are no further updates on that front. We are quoted for early to mid October so lets just hope that really happens.

It is indeed a shame that we may only get so far as the one batch. It has been a lot of work to get it this far, and now because of the exceptionally rogue pricing rise, its seeming like this is as far as it will go with Bitfury, unless of course they change their mind, or people are willing to pay around double for the rigs we are building. I'd be interested to know if anyone out there would be potentially up for paying $700 ish for an 8 chip Drillbit board? Not sure that i would, but hey maybe.

As for the motives behind the price rise, i don't really know what its alkl about, but i think its to do with trying to sell giant amounts to single buyers or companies rather than smaller bunches to groups of enthusiasts like us. Whether that will work however is yet to be seen. See how we go. I'm hoping that they will see the error of their ways and bring the prices back to something reasonable. If that happens, we will open up batch 2 for sure.

But regarding the time and effort put into making this tech, its not all a waste.  Smiley Once this project is done, we will be moving onto a new board for a new chip. Not sure what yet, but part of the design idea for the Drillbit System is that it will be upgradeable as next gen chips become available, so new Drillbit Gen 2 boards will be able to fit into your existing system. It may not be possible to mix and match old and new boards depending on the nature of whatever the new chips might be, but if it is, we will buildit that way, and if not, the new boards will at least work with the existing miniplanes. So not all is lost. Definitely stay tuned for future projects once all thuis Bitfury businessd is said and done.

Cheers.

Barntech

Have you talked about batch pricing with dave or are you just refering to the price for the available sample chips?

459  Local / Biete / Re: [Gruppenkauf] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 bestellt (geschlossen) on: August 24, 2013, 02:17:48 PM

Option a: Adjust the price to the real value the chips have now (< 50%) and refund the rest / ship double amount of chips.

This shouldn't be a problem, considering Avalons purchase price of around $1 per chip.

Option b: Lawsuit to achieve this (and probably more).
