4401  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to put my Crypto to Work, Passive Income? on: February 10, 2021, 12:09:38 PM
There are lot of defi platforms but almost all of them wash their hands of with 'vulnerable to smart contract hacks/risks', so there isn't really anything that is risk free.

4403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: February 09, 2021, 04:36:13 AM
Is there are any good news or interesting plans for the near future? I didn't find raod map for 2021 as in whatepaper tha last dates in 2020

This is not one of those projects where outlining roadmap and achieving things helps it in market value, it's value is linked to real gold, tbh there is no need of roadmap.

4404  Other / Meta / Re: This shitty Merit System has ruined Bitcointalk and made it like Facebook on: February 09, 2021, 04:29:17 AM
People with a lot of Merit can earn $50 in BTC a week easily and more in signature campaigns.

So this is the reason? If you were to be leggy member yourself, you wouldn't be complaining here, would you?
4405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the future of Ethereum smart contracts with +$20 cost of gas? on: February 08, 2021, 04:55:45 AM
Yeah, they are horrendous, I paid $100 fees for staking transaction (it's monthly wage to some people where I live) I really wish to see more layer 2 integrations in ethereum projects, or it should scale itself.
4406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much loose from ico 2021. I got rekt on: February 08, 2021, 04:52:32 AM
Can you name what project it is? how could you lose money in 4 hours? did they end up scam and run away? did you not do your research before joining the ICO? I personally currently don't really believe in ICO, I better join IEO (but only on big exchanges)
you haven't lose if you didn't sell, I will suggest you hold for when price will appreciate again.

That's so double edged sword, I have been burnt by following this advise several times but every project is different - so good luck to op.
4407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Crypto memes! on: February 07, 2021, 03:49:51 AM
We had Bitcointalk memes, but these wouldn't fit there so here we go with new meme thread.

4408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Launching new memecoin on: February 07, 2021, 03:24:41 AM
We're launching a new coin called ELON!
We are currently offering 10,000 ELON at a price of 1 XLM. A few hundred have already been bought.
You can find us at stonkhub.org
If there's anything we've learnt from dogecoin, it's that memes are the future of finance.
Get memeing  Grin Grin
Let's send ELON all the way to Mars
Doge is enough for a meme coin please. Why did you even create that? I only see it as a money grab taking advantage of the current hype surrounding Doge and Elon. Make something that can be of real use.

Doesn't look that serious even from scamming perspective, let op have fun.

Tokens like this is what really destroys the image of cryptocurrencies.

Far from it.

Your whole post describe the exact way how project like this ruins crypto's image. If we let projects to sell token (where they took investor's money) and then abandoned it just because they lost their interest, or worse, where they simply create the token and never have any intention to further develop it, all of those just for the sake of "have fun", how exactly newcomers to cryptoworld will perceive this?

C'mon man, I doubt anyone would put money into this project looking for returns, it looks like a token created just for heck of it. If any investor does otherwise may be they need to look into their investment strategies.
4409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India makes ownership of Bitcoin criminal offense - How to respond? on: February 06, 2021, 04:06:04 AM
When this draft was leaked couple years ago I panicked but now I have learned not to, we'll figure when it becomes a law, pretty sure they will give enough time dispose crypto if implemented.

Bill doesn't say about any criminal offenses tho.
4410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CRV - The most undervalued project in DeFi on: February 05, 2021, 03:48:51 AM
Curve (CRV) is currently the most undervalued DeFi project
Major problems for CRV are:
- One of their developer pulled the trigger to launch it main net before schedule, that created a bad drama at their early days.
- The token has very huge supply and it makes investors fear of loss from inflation.
- Daily pressure from investors and stakers, farmers when they receive rewards and cash out.

Quote
Short term price target: $5-8
From the 1 day chart, the price you gave is correct. At least I agree with you on the target price $5 that is the nearest resistance for CRV. If you use 3D chart, the resistance is $5.3 and I believe that CRV will be stagnant from $5 to $5.3 a while before it can accumulate enough capital and interest from the market to climb to $7.6.

If CRV successfully breaks the resistance cap at $7.6, it will fly to the Moon.

"Major problems for CRV are:

--- This is actually a good thing, if you take a look at current government regulation surrounding these things. The way Curve Finance DAO was set up, due to their launch there is no way a Government can come attack them. Curve was launched by anon Twitter user who did us all a good favor: https://twitter.com/0xc4ad ----  Unlike Uniswap where their founder is known.

But still uniswap being dex, power resides in hands of uni holders, founder created it but the uniswap itself does not depend on it.

4412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is Polkadot & how to buy (2021)? on: February 05, 2021, 03:25:15 AM
Everything is good about polka dot as an advanced blockchain ecosystem but personally i do not like the fact that they will now be changing tokenomics and increase the supply to one billion tokens which is not the right thing to do in my opinion.

Is that wrong? If there is demand this won't affect it at all, ethereum supply increases every year yet it keeps going strong.
4413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: February 04, 2021, 06:36:31 AM
please inform if there are other exchanges for GOLD tokens besides bitforex?
...use our marketplace to exchange GOLD tokens https://gold.storage/en/market ...

I advise you to use the Digital Gold Marketplace because is a great way to buy, sell and exchange GOLD.

Easy, fast and 0 fees, can we even ask for more?

I am sure you will like The Marketplace as we all here do, please check our earlier posts to see screens from transactions for more info.

Personally I use Marketplace always, exchanged GOLD token on exchange only once because I had to, if I can choose I will always use Digital Gold Marketplace.

They don't take any fees, correct but still ethereum fees are trash, wish ethereum was better in that regard  Angry
4414  Other / Meta / Re: How about locking some ANN threads that are from proven scammers? on: February 02, 2021, 04:54:15 AM
Whenever I come across any scummy threads, I report them and they get locked or deleted most of times. Did you experience otherwise?
4415  Other / Archival / Re: why Bitcointalk can't introduce their own Coin? on: February 02, 2021, 04:45:44 AM
Satoshi started this forum and you know he also created the BTC, so why create new coin when there is no problem with BTC to begin with?
4416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The First Bitcoin Awareness Post on reedit was Mocked and Downvoted on: February 01, 2021, 05:41:49 AM
If I were to read this thread back in the day I would have ignored it as whenever someone tells we need to use this so this thing can get value - it instantly puts me off.
4417  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you check the code of open source software? on: February 01, 2021, 05:38:38 AM
Nope, because I can't understand the code. But, when something is open source I tend to believe it's secure thinking someone must have checked the code.

If they give any discounts to any group of investors (early etc) that's always a red flag

I wouldn't consider it a red flag but if it's hefty discount like get double or something like that then it is a red flag, almost all projects give some discount to early buyers these days, imo 5-10% is ok.
4419  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Good exchange for altcoins on: January 25, 2021, 05:04:44 AM
Thanks all for the informations.
Is Uniswap to be considered safe? I see it in few alts.

It's safe on it's own, just make sure you confirm the contract address of token you are purchasing, since there tends to be lot of scams related to that.

Also, the fees to buy/sell tokens there tends to be too much, like $20 a single trade. Just something to keep in mind.
4420  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 'BuyUCoin exchange' data breach on: January 25, 2021, 04:58:01 AM
Commonly problem of a most centralized exchanger.

There's nothing to panic about if there's a BuyUcoin user here, you can simply change your password or if they are using emails they must also change this too.  Once it is breached, it easy for hackers to send emails or trying to log in and get the fund, but as an exchange said, users are protected with 2FA verification which is much better to protect their account if there is a transaction that will happen just like transferring of the fund.

Anyway, thanks for sharing here, probably users of this exchange will get alarmed too with this announcement.

I think the severity of information leaked is more of trouble here than someone trying to get into your buyucoin's account.
